Good point. Having returned to the game from a long eq-vacation (over a year), it is now MUCH harder to make money. Seems there are no trade combines left that = a decent profit. Heck, years ago you could do fishrolls, make toolkits, or run the (old and bugged) Neclo quest (anyone remember that one? Five minutes work got you a lvl 44 spell that sold for 10 to 20 plat!) and get money for spells, armor, a decent weapon - whatever you needed. Now it's a royal PAIN to get cash. Six plat an hour for this level is quite low (ok, it comes from xping - sure - but it really is very low). I honestly think the pendulum has swung too far the other way. Maybe it used to be too easy to get plat, maybe people were abusing it ("What is macroing, Alex?") to get 1000s of platties to sell on ebay. But... sigh, the answer is not to crack down like the Fist of God. If you are a newb, take a good look at what the above poster said. That sounds like a great way to make money in the current climate. Search around for smart posters like him and learn the cool tricks to make *serious* money (i.e. min time and effort for max plats earned - find out what rich players will buy that you can easily and cheaply accumulate, etc. - learn how the Bazaar works - etc. etc.) - cuz the game is a LOT more fun when you can buy cool stuff, trust me. Thank goodness my chars already have some $ - this old dog doesn't want to learn any new tricks. Good luck all! Oh - here's an important PS - Sony people read these boards. If they see players accepting cheap quest payouts as being "okay", they won't ever change them. But if we all agree that these quests are paying out way too low (and for this level they really are too low) - there is a chance they will up them one day. Think about it before you decide to be all "noble and stoic" and defend parsimonious developers. You might be nipping a good thing in the bud.
