Kings Court Casino is in Shadowhaven on the way to Paludal Caverns (from Nexus). It's the first door just before you go up the stairs on your way from Nexus zone in. open door, turn right, turn left quick, go down stairs for the class-specific token/game NPC and handy banker. Gold Ticket NPC Jacob Thornblade is on the main floor your entered by.

Patch Intro: Shandeling's Roost in Shadowhaven now houses a game of chance. To play you will need to buy a King's Court Token. You then take this token and turn it in to any of the dealers. Based on what your hand turns out to be, you will be awarded a prize. The highest hands will return a gold ticket as the prize. This Ticket can be turned in to win prizes such as a Guise of the Deceiver (not if you are a dark elf), Fungus Covered Great Staff, or Holgresh Elder Beads. Good luck to all that play!

You say, 'Hail, Jacob Thornblade'

Jacob Thornblade says 'Welcome! Welcome to Shandeling's, the gaming hall of chance! The game room is downstairs. If you are lucky enough to get a Gold Ticket, be sure to bring it to me for a spin on the big wheel of prizes! Make sure to tip your waitress well!'

You can buy King's Court Tokens from two Brewing merchants nearby : Nayda Winterwind and Keiya Oakwood.

Note: In order to make sure you can use the item, only give your token to the dealer corresponding to your class. If in doubt, hail the NPC first. Their responses:

Therin Asakith says 'Welcome to Shandeling's Casino! If you would like to try your luck at a game of chance, I can offer you a game of King's Court with prizes best suited for any warrior, monk, or rogue. To play, buy a token from any of the waitresses and hand it to me when ready.'

Gralin Silvertooth says 'Thank you for coming to Shandeling's Casino! If you would like to try your luck at a game of chance, I can offer you a game of King's Court with prizes best suited for any shadow knight, ranger, beastlord, bard, or paladin. To play, buy a token from any of the waitresses and hand it to me when ready.'

Vuri Pandar says 'Welcome to Shandeling's Casino! If you would like to try your luck at a game of chance, I can offer you a game of King's Court with prizes best suited for any druid, shaman, or cleric. To play, buy a token from any of the waitresses and hand it to me when ready.'

Tirac Goldbender says 'Welcome to Shandeling's Casino! If you would like to try your luck at a game of chance, I can offer you a game of King's Court with prizes best suited for any wizard, necromancer, magician, or enchanter. To play, buy a token from any of the waitresses and hand it to me when ready.'

Turn in your token, and in return you can receive a variety of things based upon which item you don't have already:

Nothing (common)
Stat Food (common; the better the stats, the higher the rarity)
More Tokens (range from 2 to 25+ - uncommon)
Fireworks (uncommon)
Gems (rare)
Potions (illusions, various effects - very rare)
Minor Stat Items (very rare)
Gold Ticket (ultra rare)

Should you be lucky enough to snag a Gold Ticket, turn it into Jacob Thornblade upstairs for what is typically a very nice reward.

Upon turning in a gold ticket, a shout is heard across the zone:

Jacob Thornblade shouts 'Ladies and Gentlemen gather around, as our brave _____ is turning in his Golden Ticket for a chance at the big time! With a spin of the wheel let us determine the prize. Ladies and gentlemen, the [race] wins a [prize]. Everyone please congratulate _____ on this excellent luck!'

Note: says "his" even when a female character does the turn in.

If you already have all the items you will see him say this when you try to hand in a gold ticket.

Jacob Thornblade says 'I am sorry, but at the moment our great wheel of prizes is not spinning! Could you try again in a few moments while I try to fix the jam? Thanks!'

Just wanted to say that I have seen two other items won from a gold ticket:

Scimitar of the Mistwalker
Glowing Red Drum

Items that I have heard you can get from gold ticket but haven't seen anyone win myself:

Glowing Green Drum
Al'Kabor's Propylon of the Nexus
Black Ornate Chain Bridle
White Ornate Chain Bridle

Also you are a missing a few normal items:

Deluxe Sewing kit
Club Sandwich
Elixir
Prayers of Life
Grilled Kabob
Glazed Kabob
Vial of Swirling Smoke

There are more, just can't think of the rest. But i do know I have seen illusion potions for all races, and all the gems I have received have been velious gems, some can be used for the velious armor quests, some can't (basically same ones that drop off of velious mobs).

I got no doubts in most of those items but isnt Al'Kabor's Propylon of the Nexus an Artifact? If so I cant see them letting things like that come from the casino only because they are extreamly limited server wise.. Like 1 per server.. Dont see too many people walking around with Al'Kabors Staff..

Just thought I would comment..

Also I thought I would mention this but there are 2 of the resistance stones missing from that list.. I think it would be likely to assume that they can also be gotten from the casino..

All 4 resistance stones are listed as rewards. Those are the only 4 resistance stones.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 19 2004 at 8:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Most of the people I talk to have spent several K in this casino only to get nothing to show for it. I personalyl think its pretty low on SOE's part to have this.

Howdie yall,

Well, I have been waiting to work up the cash so I could do this game until I won a golden ticket (around 40-50k) I decided I would just use 6k and take a look at these items and 4 that aren't listed-Angry bee (gnomish Fireworks) some what common, Club sandwich pretty rare as food goes, a variety of gems from topaz to diamonds, Multiple illusion pots I only won 3; 2 Woodies and 1 vahshir.

Anyways, are these all the items you can win??
is Guise of deciever listed as being under the Golden ticket item or rare? It says their is a dude specificly for priest class/intell/DPS/Melee whatever. What are some of the gold ticket items for druids?

# Mar 16 2004 at 8:15 PM Rating: Decent
Got a golden ticket on 16 Mar, no strategy except I put a single coin in each trade slot to make it go faster. Turned in golden ticket, npc told me his wheel was stuck and gave me back my ticket. I gave him the ticket again, got Holgresh Elder Beads. In the bazaar on innoruuk at the moment, otherwise this is just information wondering if any tactics are used to get something good.

Casinos on a PvP Server
# Feb 13 2004 at 2:49 PM Rating: Default
I'm not sure how it is on the other PvP servers, but Shadowhaven has become the new home of all our grief-killers, item-gankers, and plain non-RP'ing, playerkilling scum on Rallos. It's like a mad dash to the token vendor, dodging DD's, MB's, and villainous blades.

It's probably a good idea to have the casino in 'Haven instead of the bazaar; the bazaar already has enough lag. But I do wish that they would sell the tokens in a non-PvP zone.

Bah!

I spent 4k on tokens and won about 30 more tokens while playing. I ended up with: 24 Wheat Breads, 4 Sweet Breads, an Essence of High Elf (I'm a High Elf, so that does me no good), an Essence of Wood Elf, 2 Gnomish Fireworks (both the same type), a Crushed Topaz, and Beer Goggles. (I already have a Fisherman's Companion for summoning ale)

If I had won a Golden Ticket, I would've sold it in the Bazaar instead of using it.

Okay to answer a couple of questions.

On the 10th spent around 60k and received 2 gold tickets. I was placing 1 token in each of the 4 slots at one time when handing them into NPC.

Won the following:

Other than a for a brief period after PoP came, jewelcraft has not made money since the advent of the bazaar.
My thoughts ....

Well they took down the casino until after the new year. I did go and blow 2k in the casino (I only had 4k to my name but hey.. I was hoping for a guise of the deciever). Anyways One nice thing is you can win more tokens so my 20 tokens at 136 cha ended up turning into more like 100 tokens all in all. I won 20 tokens one time and 30 another along with a couple 2 and 15 token wins. I did end up with some kabobs and a deluxe sewing kit as well. Realistically unless I happen to hit the EQ lotto I don't see me doing alot of gambling anytime soon. It's too expensive. I'd like to see tokens cost less but I don't that that's going to happen...

At these prices...
# Dec 24 2003 at 3:10 AM Rating: Decent
At the prices listed, this sure seems like an expensive proposition. To me, this looks like an attempt by SOE to pull some plat out of the system, as it has been getting flooded recently, as most are aware. It also seems like there is not much reward for the risk, almost as if they were targeting those people that profited (directly or indirectly) from the recent exploits in game. I know that at level 51, I have nowhere near this kind of plat to waste, so I wouldn't be going anywhere near this. Of course, I didn't take advantage of exploits, either by doing them myself or buying plat from someone who did. Of course this little rant excludes those who sold high end items to those that had plat to burn, and now have the plat themselves. They obviously are just taking care of business as usual. Oh well, just my 2cp. Guess I shouldn't be posting at 3am when I am crabby, lol.

I had a few spare kpp to blow so I went to check out the casino while it was still up.

The first thing I will suggest to you all is that, if you wish to gamble in the casino once it comes back, I seriously suggest you get a hold of some CHA gear. CHA will affect the price of the tokens, not your chances of winning or losing.

I grabbed a pair of CHA augments in LDoN (no others wanted them and we had no bard or enchanter). People were wondering why the heck I was so excited and eager to get CHA augs. I bound the augs to my Planar Travellers Manual and Amulet of the Haven. I hate to say it, and I hope you enchanters and bards out there forgive me, but I'm going to try for CHA augs whenever they drop... this gambling stuff can turn you into a greedy ****.

Normally, the vendor sells tokens to me for 112pp each, but with CHA gear, I paid 104pp each. This comes out to a saving of 160pp per stack. A guildie chanter mentioned that he was able to drop the price of tokens to 100pp each.

Unless you have a huge stash of PP to burn, and do not have a need to buy gear or supplies, then it may be worth it to drop a few PP in the casino. The prizes seem to be more novelty than useful. And from what I heard, you have to be willing drop in the neighborhood of 40,000-80,000pp in order to have a shot at a gold ticket.

Even when you have a bunch of pp in the bank, dropping 100pp for each attempt still hurts. A gambling session (one stack of tokens) will cost at least 2000pp. Even when you have lots of pp, you start measuring stuff by the amount of tokens it can buy. An FBSS will get you less than a stack of tokens. A typical LDoN split will buy you 1 or 2 tokens.

After plunging two stacks of tokens, I walked away with four stacks of stat food, assorted gnomish fireworks, and a handful of gems. It was fun, but I doubt I'll go back.

dude if ya havent figured the best cha gear in game yet then you really need to hear this. there called opel encrusted stiens thay have 25 cha and ya can get 2 normally sell for 20-30pp each in bazaar. i have 2 and with them i can buy tokens for 100pp each! also if ya want mad cha gear then get a pernicity cloak its another 25 cha also all grandmaster items give 50 cha, so if ya blowing money in bazaar it will be easy for you to do jewelcrafting since it only takes money and no farming to get skill up. best way is to do laquered pearls till 90 somin then champaine magnums till 190 somin then velium stuff to 250 its easy just takes some mad plat to master. also when ya do ya can make the money ya spent on skill in like no time bloodmetal earrings of engagment sell for almost 20k in bazaar and easy to get stuff for. hope this helps ya understand cha is an easy thing to get.

Doing velium combines for skill increases is a mistake since platinum + jasper trivials in the mid-240's. Failures on these combines are already expensive enough with plat bars costing 104pp each. Velium bars are more than double the price and I believe the trivials are the same as platinum. Too bad they nerfed the vendor buy back because you used to be able to actually recoup some lossses from failures by enchanting the platinum bars first and then selling back for more than cost.
