    Short version

Once you reach level 15, you will receive a "mysterious message:"

A mysterious voice whispers to you, 'If you can feel me in your thoughts, know this -- something is changing in the world and I reckon you should be a part of it. I do not know much, but I do know that in every home city and the wilds there are agents of an organization called the Wayfarers Brotherhood. They are looking for recruits . . . If you can hear this message, you are one of the chosen. Rush to your home city, or search the West Karanas and Rathe Mountains for a contact if you have been exiled from your home for your deeds, and find out more. Adventure awaits you, my friend.'

If you are not sure what town you started in, you can also go to the Rathe Mountains gypsy camp or the SE corner of Western Karana. Once you arrive there, you will receive another "mysterious message" telling you to find a specific NPC. You need to find the person mentioned and hail him. He will tell you about the wayfarer camps and mention 5 more NPC's - one per camp. Head to a camp and talk to the NPC there and he will ask you some questions. Answer them and you will get flagged to use the adventure system and the Magus teleports that take you from camp to camp.

    Detailed Version

This is the introduction you'll see in Greater Faydark. Others will be very similar.

A mysterious voice whispers to you, 'If you can feel me in your thoughts, know this -- something is changing in the world and I reckon you should be a part of it. I do not know much, but I do know that in every home city and the wilds there are agents of an organization called the Wayfarers Brotherhood. They are looking for recruits and . . . If you can hear this message, you are one of the chosen. Rush to your home city, or search the West Karanas and Rathe Mountains for a contact if you have been exiled from your home for your deeds, and find out more. Adventure awaits you, my friend.'

You have entered The Greater Faydark.

A mysterious voice whispers to you, 'Enyaanuia Windancer in the tavern by Trueshots Bows has just joined the Wayfarers Brotherhood and has some information about them, and how you can start doing odd jobs for them. You looked like the heroic sort, so I wanted to contact you . . . discreetly.'

    You say, 'Hail, Enyaanuia Windancer'

Enyaanuia Windancer says 'Come to find out about the Wayfarers Brotherhood, hm? I think I saw you around here long ago. Because you are familiar to me, I will trust you with some [information].'

You say, 'I want some information.'

Enyaanuia Windancer says 'The Wayfarers Brotherhood is pretty particular about who they do business with. You will need to prove yourself to them. You can start gaining their gratitude by helping them. The Wayfarers Brotherhood will ask you to answer some questions when you first meet with them. They tend to call all of their assignments 'adventures.' You'd do well to keep that in mind as they'll be more likely to give you some tasks. There is other information that makes them easier to [deal with] too.'

    You say, 'Deal with?'

Enyaanuia Windancer says 'There are several camps of Wayfarers Brotherhood explorers around the world. In each camp you'll find a trusted Wayfarers Brotherhood member that has the task of recruiting adventurers that will take on interesting, and potentially lethal, [work]. Some members will tell you stories, if they think you are worthy of learning such prized information. Others will share their treasures with you, but only if you do work for them.'

    You say, 'Work?'

Enyaanuia Windancer says 'The Wayfarers Brotherhood believes in giving something for something. For each adventure you take from them, they will add you to their Favor Journal. With the points of Favor that their record keepers have counted for you, you can trade your good Favor for wonderful treasures and goods. Also, the more adventures you do for the Wayfarers Brotherhood, the more your Favor increases. The harder jobs get you more Favor, by the way. As you gain more Favor, the Wayfarers Brotherhood treasure keepers will let you peek at some of their more unique and sought after items. So, it pays to get in good with them, you see! And there's [more]!'

    You say, 'There's more?'

Enyaanuia Windancer says 'You should also know that there are five magi in the Wayfarers Brotherhood that have found very unique magic stones in the world that they are able to use to transport adventurers to one another. They have placed a magus with one of these stones at each large camp. They call it Farstone Magic. And that's not the only [interesting ore] we've seen lately.'

You say, 'Interesting ore -- you are messing with me, elf woman!'

Enyaanuia Windancer says 'We've found some strange items off the dead in the dungeons. At first we just thought they were simple things -- rocks, pebbles, gems, and the like -- and then we noticed they had very unusual auras about them. Well, one day, Morden Rasp was toying with one -- a shiny green shard -- and he went to scrape it with his dagger. Suddenly, the shard began to reform and fused with his dagger. While the dagger remained as fine as ever, Morden himself felt a surge of strength! So, you will want to watch out for these strange magic pieces in the world. Now, I suggest you go talk to Selephra Giztral, Barstre Songweaver, Vual Stoutest, Teria Grinntli, or Ruanya Windleaf. They handle all of those who are interested in working for the Wayfarers Brotherhood and getting rewards. Remember well what I've told you!'

You have completed a step toward becoming a great adventurer. Well done!

    In the Everfrost Peaks:

    You say, 'Hail, Teria Grinntli'

Teria Grinntli says 'Welcome stranger. I'm afraid you must answer some questions before I can consider opening our wealth of skill and knowledge to you. First, what does the Wayfarers Brotherhood call the tasks they will ask you to do for them?'

    You say, 'Give me adventures!'

You have completed a step toward becoming a great adventurer. Well done!

Teria Grinntli says 'We will reward based on your improving position with the Wayfarers Brotherhood. We keep a certain type of log that records how often and well you help us. What is it called?'

You say, 'It's a favor journal.'

You have completed a step toward becoming a great adventurer. Well done!

Teria Grinntli says 'Who discovered that some treasures have strange magical properties by poking one with his dagger?'

    You say, 'Morden Rasp'

You have completed a step toward becoming a great adventurer. Well done!

Teria Grinntli says 'Our brilliant magi use a special kind of magic to help teleport us between camps. What is it called?'

    You say, 'A farstone'

Teria Grinntli says 'Congratulations! I believe now that you are trustworthy enough to take on some of the adventures the Wayfarers Brotherhood have to give. We will be able to continue with our discussions once you complete some adventures. We can also help you with travel between our camps. Be well, fair Guiscard. I'm sure, someday, you will be a great addition to the Wayfarers Brotherhood.'

You have completed a step toward becoming a great adventurer. Well done!
Your faction standing with Wayfarers Brotherhood has been adjusted by 100.

Teria Grinntli says 'Take this Adventurer Stone with you on your journeys into the dungeons. You will find it useful. Should you lose it somehow, come talk to me and I'll replace it.'

    Rewards:
    - Faction with Wayfarers Brotherhood
    - Adventurer's Stone (needed to use the Magus portals)

These same steps will work on any of the following NPCs: Selephra Giztral, Barstre Songweaver, Vual Stoutest, Teria Grinntli, and Ruanya Windleaf.

Upon the hail that maxes out the stats of your Adventurer's Stone, you will see in red:

It's time to acknowledge you as a Wayfarer. Give Chaenz Abella in the Commonlands your Adventurer Stone and he'll replace it with your very own Wayfarers Emblem. Or, if it's being used in a charm, you must remove it to get your new one. And, if you simply destroy the stone, he will replace it with your much-deserved emblem. Just tell him you want your [emblem].

Head to Chaenz Abella in the Wayfarer's camp in the Commonlands.

Chaenz Abella says 'I heard you had become knowledgeable about all aspects of the dungeons we've found. I must confess that I never had you pegged for such a great adventurer! I suppose I should welcome you -- as a member of the Wayfarers Brotherhood. The honor is well deserved. Congratulations!'

Chaenz Abella says 'Here is a token of my appreciation. Should you lose your Wayfarers Brotherhood Emblem or misplace it, I or Barstre, Selephra, Ruanya, Teria, or Vual will replace it.'

    Receive Wayfarers Brotherhood Emblem.

Ok. Here is a quick rundown of what to do.
This is an example of one of the guys to talk to. You are given a list of five names to talk to next. They are Selephra Giztral, Bartsre Songweaver, Vual Stoutest, Teria Grinntli and Ruanya Wiridleaf. The following example is for Bartsre Giztral. He is located in the EC tunnel. He is not hard to miss, because there will be about 50+ others around him.

AFTER, and I repeat, AFTER you talk to the guy in your hometown, go to Bartsre Songwriter in the EC tunnel. Hail him. Then type these four phrases seperately to get your adventure's stone; adventures, favor journal, morden rasp and finally, farstone magic. I know above it shows farstones, but I typed farstone magic and it worked no problem. REMEMBER, type the four phrases seperately. There will be a lot of spam from the other people around him answering the questions, but just ignore all that.

After you get your stone, form your group. It has to be at least 4 people. Ive only done one dungeon so far with our level 38-40 alts and a total of 5 people. I suggest getting the full group to make things easier. Next, you go to Periac Windfell (adventure recruiter). The group leader then right clicks him. He is then given the adventure and you either accept it or decline it. There is also a pull down menu that you can change the risk factor of the mission. You can either choose NORMAL or HIGH.

After accepting the "adventure", it tells you what zone to go to. As soon as you zone into this zone, it gives you a message about the quest is labeled on your compass. You will see a line on your compass that shows you where to go. Once you find the trap door, you can zone into your adventure from there.

This is some general information to get you all started on your 'adventures'. The mission we got was to go and rescue Eten Mandala from Rujarkian Hills which is connected to The Oasis. We did not complete this mission. We are looking to avenge our loss and try again. Good luck to all!

Here's location of the wayfarer camps with the people you need to speak to after talking to the person in your hometown:

Selephra Giztral (South Ro neg1450, pos1020 -- near orc town and camps on western side of zone)
Barstre Songweaver (East Commonlands tunnel -- near Shady)
Vual Stoutest (Butcherblock Mountains -- on path near GFay zone line)
Teria Grinntli (Everfrost pos1800, neg 5030 -- near river fork, 'mammoth platform')
Ruanya Windleaf (North Ro pos2700, pos900 -- on path south of huts on the way to EC tunnel)

Can use the NPC Magus to transport between camps (each has a different name). Magus is also the vendor for tradeskill books, some crystals, and any loot that people have sold.

There are also Adventure merchants (selling charms and whatnot using points that you earn from adventures), as well as raid organizers who send you on your way once you have a group.

Butcherblock and East Commonlands seem to be the busiest -- haven't found a group yet because most adventurers seem to be 50+ on my server.

You can actually just say 'farstone magic' to Bartsre Songwriter if you want to miss out all the precedeing waffle... you get the adventurers stone just the same... (obviously you have to talk to your home city person first).

This is true... although all I said was "farstone" and I immediately skipped all the previous steps. I did talk to the girl in my hometown first, but it makes me wonder if I didn't and just talked to one of the Waferes if I could have gotten the stone just the same.

Can do this quest before you even buy LDoN. Was in PoK, got the first message. Went to my home town (Shar Vahl), and somehow got the NPC to talk to me (might need someone else to talk to them first so you can interrupt), then headed to EC Tunnel, talked to Barstre Songweaver...said all the stuff...got the Augmentation...and now I can even ask the Magus to port me places (unless that's not LDoN required)

Unfortunately, this is not a good thing that people can do the LDoN set up quests without buying LDoN or having the LDoN files on their computer. I had a mission fail very quickly earlier tonight because 2 of the 6 people in the group had to camp within moments of the mission starting in order to each download 39 minutes worth of LDoN files.

Not a good thing at all to spend a couple of hours looking for a group, then getting the mission, then another 30 minutes of buffing and medding before entering the mission zone, only to find that Sony failed to include a safeguard check that everyone in the mission group has the LDoN expansion installed. And, of course, the failure counts against your record, even though you had no way of knowing that two people in the group couldn't participate because they didn't have LDoN installed, and that Sony failed to put sufficient safeguards in to prevent this.

I just finished mistmoore catacombs. It was pretty nice. 5 level 65 players doing the normal dungeon setting. Cleric, Pally, SK, chanter and ranger. Pally's with Slay Undead will own this undead zone. We finished the required 29 items with 15 minutes left. We even had 30 minutes to leave the zone when finished so we went around and backtracked to the coffins and chests to recheck if we missed anything. Slower was not really needed but a chanter helped a lot with multi pulls. Each mob had about 12K HP. They die pretty fast. Mobs were easier than in Plane of Valor or Storms. The nice thing is you dont really need a balanced group and DPS is nice but not critical to the success. Graphics are awesome. Exp was better than I expected based on mob difficulty.

its a nice feature but it has some flaws like everyone has to be within a certain level of each other. had a full group of guildies 65chanter 62paly 63BST 63cleric 65necro and a 55 monk but we had to leave the monk behind because his level was too low even though he has been grouping with us alot over the past few weeks ..... it just screwed up our normal group we adventure to the new zones with

I have a level 51 monk and I mostly group with level 65s. I've been to just about every zone that a level 51 can go to with them and regardless of where that is there hasn't been a problem with fighting mobs. Only thing is that I can't take the hits when we're going up against something that quads for 400.

With the new restriction of 7 levels I am excluded from grouping with my friends. Its why I'm posting this message right now instead of playing. I'm annoyed that SOE never released this tidbit of knowledge to the public. If they had I never would have purchased LDON. Heck its probably going to drive me from the game. If I can't play with my friends I'm not interested in playing EQ. I wish they would have been up front about this so I wouldn't have had to waste the money I already have.

I am so MAD about the level restriction thing. I have lots of friends I play with ALL THE TIME that are not the same level as me. It is complete BS that we can't play in LDON together. Everywhere else in the game I can group with these people and get xp and have fun together. NOW rather than having new places to adventure with my friends it means I have to choose between ******** over a friend so I can go to a zone or I can't get any of the enjoyment out of the new zones.

I am generally not a big EQ complainer but this one just really ticks me off. I was really looking forward to adventuring in new places with my regular group of friends in the game and now we cant go together because of a level restriction.

Two reasons why they did this, IMHO:

    1. Loot - A level 55 would pick up "shouldn't have at his level" loot from a dungeon set up for a group averaging 63.

    2. Difficulty - My guess is that a 55 would get owned, even twinked. It would be like taking him into an elemental plane.

All they have to do is PL him to 58, then he'll be within 7 levels, it will bring the difficulty down slightly and everybody will be happy.

NOne of that aplies to a 60s group with a mid-50s cleric who is just out of range, however. Clerics are regularly 10 or more levels below the rest of the group.

This may be a BUG, but we had an entire group of 65's, except 1 (59 Rogue). The rogue tried repeated to get in but could not. He was flagged, because he was able to enter previously with a group of latter 50's.

I know the level limit is supposed to be 6-7 levels, but just wanted to throw this out there in case anyone else ran into the issue. We heard it was a possible bug, but couldn't confirm.

OK, ill be the first to say that this seems like a very nice idea! Finally, instead of searching for a place for my party and i to get exp and drops that coincide with our levels, EQ does it for us, nice! note: i say this from no actual experience seeing as how the servers are all crammed and i cant get on to see what all the quests are really like.
