I was able to complete this quest on the Test Server on 9/2/2023. I assume they fixed it since adding it to the Hero's Journey Achievement list.

A VERY good quest in my book

I did this quest over and over again, to get my druid to level 5, so that I could get my camo spell and travel to Freeport. I killed as many king (and gopher) snakes as I could find along the way to make some money, but most of the XP came from this quest...I made level 5 in about 3 1/2 hours!
Not Bad

As a Human Druid lvl 1, I received 2 orange bubbles of xp when I turned the note into Nestiff. Handed the statue back to Vesteri and got about half an orange bubble of xp. Not too shabby for a newbie xp quest.

I got 1 copper for completing the quest and almost unnoticeable XP. Total waste of time for a level 3 Human Druid.

Okay.. This is what my DE did to get better faction with all of qeynos including SGlade.... You go into blackburrow for a couple days(RL) of non stop gnoll slaughter, and when you come out you will prolly have indiff to kindly faction.
RE: In Bad with the Rangers
# Jul 27 2002 at 1:48 PM Rating: Decent
You only gain the Surefall Glade Druid factions in black burrow. The rangers guild is on a different faction that you can gain from killing mobs.

couple questions here
1)anyone know another quest that give good PoP faction?
2)im kos in sfg so is there a way to do this quest with the statue?

This quest seems to be the only way to raise QRGProtectedAnimals. And it only gives a +1 adjustment to that faction. There's a single quest to raise Venril Sather faction too, but at least it gives +8 each time you do it.

How do you know how big the adjustment is?
I would like to know that for other quests too, could you tell how you can find it out?

thanks

Faction numbers are certain ranges.

-500 to -101 is dubious
-1 to -100 is apprehensive
0 to 99 is indifferent
100 to 499 is amiable
etc.

I did the quest til I was apprehensive. Then I kept doing the quest until I was different, counting how many it took. It took 100.

At least for most old world factions there are set differences.. like neg 2000 is max scowl pos 2000 is max allied or whatever

So if a person had just turned apprehensive, say, they could then count how many times they did this quest to get to indiff. Then knowing that number and the faction table numbers, they could tell how much of the faction the quest was giving.

Even though Tillan isn't involved in this quest, I can still answer your question. Captain Tillan is found on the 2nd floor balcony of the warrior's guild, which is the building that is inside the pvp arena area in South Qeynos.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 11 2001 at 9:37 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) people people please if you want to move freely hear this, you know you were killing orcs in highpass right, well you needto kill the highpass gnolls, the druids in MOST of the game all follow Karana so you must kill all the gnolls in highpass thats why they spawn so offten forget orcs, you camp there all the time but thats to get thru kikicor or somthing woods, but if your goting the opposet direction an to the karana you need to kill the gnolls just kill the gnolls then kill 400 Black burrow gnolls then youll be apprehenseve if not abmbly with them.just remeber the druids are Jagged pine an Holly Windstalker has a weapon in each hand shes a Ranger of Protecters of the Pine, 2 compleatly differint factions kill highpass gnolls then BB gnolls then find some poachers an kill them. youl get off better.Cizic sever Boombata Erudite SK

so is it even possible for a dark elf to do this quest ..agnostic enchanter but still kos to druids:(
RE: Qs
# Oct 23 2001 at 6:01 AM Rating: Decent
As an enchanter, your solution is simple...

Illusion: Half Elf

That *should* keep you from being KoS from the rangers. The druid faction is far easier to raise by going into Blackburrow and commencing mass slaughter of gnolls.
Be Careful!
# Apr 24 2001 at 4:41 AM Rating: Default
Just to let you know, if yopu are a lower level and couldn't get a SoW, watch out for the higher level stuff that's in Qeynos that might happen to wander on the path, such as rabid animals, gnolls, gnoll watchers, etc. so be careful you newbies that are doing this quest! I had an experience like it myself!
DRUIDS FACTION

# Sep 21 2001 at 3:01 AM Rating: Default
KOS to the unkempt drudis you mean? That was the only negative druid faction hit i saw. And if i remember correctly, the unkempt druids are in a corner of rathe mts. After killing enough halfling druids in nektulos, my DE alt wanted to know just who was starting to like him so much, couldn't find any unkempts anywhere else. As far as the other negative faction hit (CoUH) my ranger doesn't go trolling around theives' guilds anyway...

just my 2cp.

This is one of the easiest and possibly the best quests for a lower level. If you are a Ranger or Druid, it isn't as important. But as any other class that has the problem of being aggro'ed by bears and wolves, this is great. All you need is someone nice enough to SOW you. Then run back and forth from Surefall to Qeynos. If you partner up with a low level druid with mesmorize, then be sure to make a stop at the two gnoll watcher spawns. They occasionally drop gnoll fangs. At level 5, a single gnoll fang will get you nearly half a bubble of experience. I usually got 2 or three out of 6 watchers. Not bad. Needless to say, I spent very little time as a level 4 and 5.
Also bears and wolves didn't aggro against me either. Another plus in my book.

This seems to be an excellent quest. I believe one of the only quests that raises all of the important Druid factions at one time.
where is Nesiff

can anyone plz tell mw where nesiff is in qeynos?
RE: where is Nesiff
# Nov 29 2000 at 1:30 AM Rating: Default
Nesiff is in South Qeynos, in the courtyard by the clock. His shop is on the backside of one of the buildings there, and there is a sign outside that says "Nesiff's" something or other.
RE: where is Nesiff
# Mar 31 2002 at 11:43 PM Rating: Default
It says in the description AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE that the shop is called "Nesiff's Wooden Weapons." I am sorry if I came across as obnoxious, but it irritates me when people don't pay attention to the first thing they should see. For faction reasons with people that might think I am a snot, hope this helps.

a very easy quest, delievery of mail. you get coin and xp for a walk on the path to qeynos, very good for low levels or for fraction
Best combined with the mail quest
# Jul 05 2000 at 2:59 PM Rating: Good
Since you'll be running down to Qeynos anyway (probably to go to the bank)...just stop by, get the note from Vesteri and the mail from the bard chick in the ranger guild. Minor coin when all is said and done--but very nice faction that's hard to get elsewhere.

A good enough quest for the true newbie.
RE: Best combined with the mail quest
# Nov 01 2000 at 11:36 PM Rating: Good
Whenever I see a newborn druid or ranger in SFG, I always tell them to do this quest and the bard letter first. At level 1 that's almost 1 1/2 bubbles of xp and the gold from the bard letter is good money for a level 1.
Well, it IS the 1st quest a Surefeller C
# Jul 02 2000 at 7:46 AM Rating: Decent
And if you're new to Surefall as a Level 1 Ranger or Druid, it will get you down to Qeynos. Makes the 1st trip slightly worth it anyways.
