Find Sergeant Johson Popoah and hail him twice. Do not respond or click the link until after the second hail. If you respond or click the link prior to the second hail, camp or zone to clear quest progress and start over.

You say, 'Hail, Sergeant Johson Popoah'

Sergeant Johson Popoah says 'State your business or leave our [compound].'

Do not respond yet.

You say, 'Hail, Sergeant Johson Popoah'

Sergeant Johson Popoah says 'Leave now before there is bloodshed.'

Now you may respond.

You say, 'What compound?'

Sergeant Johson Popoah says 'This is the primary command center for Che Virtuson. We fall under the leadership and guidance of Captain Ryglot. I must now ask you to leave.'

Immediately go see Paralin Notion and hail him. He is with Che Virtuson in the tents near zone-in.

You say, 'Hail, Paralin Notion'

Paralin Notion says 'You're either [brave], or you're [stupid].'

You say, 'I am brave.'

He may not respond. If he doesn't, simply type the following response.

Paralin Notion says 'That you are. Perhaps you'd be interested in helping our [company].'

You say, 'I will help your company.'

Paralin Notion says 'We're a part of the Battalion of Marr. We're soldiers from Che Virtuson. We were dispatched to this part of the Plane of Valor to eliminate an age old target. Unfortunately, due to some recent events our mission has been placed on hold and our [squad] has been asked to remain behind.'

You say, 'What squad?'

Paralin Notion says 'We are a part of Ducee Tapferson. Our squad is known for our bravery. We were successful in capturing this [razorfiend] earlier today. You've shown some bravery as well my friend and that is the reason I request your [assistance].'

You say, 'What about that razorfiend?'

Paralin Notion says 'These vile beasts live in the caves west of here.'

You say, 'I will provide you with assistance.'

Paralin Notion says 'Many of us here are anxious to leave. Many wish to regroup with the rest of our company. Others wish to go back to the Halls to complete the [Trials].'

You say, 'What Trials?'

Paralin Notion says 'The Trials are overseen by the Heroes of Marr. It's these Trials that allow us to rise in rank. Only those who have passed the trials are able to enter the Temple of Marr. Now if you wish to aid us I must ask you to do a few [things].'

You say, 'What things?'

Paralin Notion says 'You must find the Master Sergeant and tell him that you are here to aid the cause.'

At this point IMMEDIATELY proceed to Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln in the bridgehouse. He is on the far side near the wastes. Do not hail him or anyone in between, just walk up to him and immediately say "I am here to aid the cause."

You say, 'I am here to aid the cause.'

Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln looks you over and says in a deep voice 'What could you possibly do to aid our cause. Perhaps you think you can slay [Aerin`Dar] himself?' The Master Sergeant begins to laugh uncontrollably. 'I suggest you go back to whoever filled your head with this nonsense and stop wasting my time.'

You say, 'What is Aerin'dar?'

Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln says 'I don't have time to explain the glass dragon to you. Leave before I get angry.'

Immediately go back to Paralin Notion.

You say, 'Hail, Paralin Notion'

Paralin Notion says 'I'm sorry the Master Sergeant was unable to help you. Perhaps you should [prove] yourself before you attempt to jump 'into the fire' so to speak.'

You say, 'How shall I prove myself?'

Paralin Notion says 'We've been running into a lot of problems lately with the razorfiends and the planarian larvae. Many soldiers have been getting sick because of the infestations that they cause. Capture the hearts of a razorfiend, a crystalline spider and a planarian larvae and bring them back to me. Our squad had enough problems capturing this small razorfiend here. This will become your first so called 'Trial' ______. It should be enough to prove your worth.'

Once you have collected the three hearts and turned them in...

Paralin Notion looks at you with surprise. 'Very good my friend. You've definitely proven yourself. Find the Master Sergeant. He should be able to help you this time.'
You gain experience!!

Immediately return to Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln.

You say, 'Hail, Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln'

Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln says 'I heard what you did for Paralin Notion. That's quite a noble feat indeed. Perhaps we can use your help. However, you'll need to talk to the Captain first. After all, I can't have you walking in the [glass lair] without permission.'

You say, 'What glass lair?'

Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln says 'It's the prison that [Aerin`Dar] has been encased in for many generations.'

You say, 'What about Aerin'dar?'

Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln says 'Aerin`Dar is the crystalline dragon who once roamed the Plane of Valor. During a severe rainstorm it was struck down to the very core of its being. The mighty Aerin`Dar fell from the sky and landed in what is now known as the Glassy Wasteland. Planarian larvae began to infest its body eventually turning its pure heart to evil. Our [company] was dispatched to this region of Valor to eliminate the threat.'

You say, 'What company?'

Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln says 'My squad of men are a part of Che Virtuson. However, we specifically are a part of Ducee Buled. We fall under the command of Captain Ryglot. Our [mission], for the time being, is simple. But we've run into some problems lately.'

You say, 'What mission?'

Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln says 'Not too fast ______. You'll have to speak to the Captain about that. I'm not at liberty to divulge that information at this time. That information is classified. I can tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.' Aaramis laughs. 'Go to Captain Ryglot and he'll be able to fill you in with all the details.'

Immediately go to Captain Ryglot Cupperhide. Don't speak to anyone else on the way.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Ryglot Cupperhide'

Captain Ryglot Cupperhide says 'I am very [busy] at the moment. Perhaps you should come back at another time ______.'

You say, 'Why are you busy'

Captain Ryglot Cupperhide says 'I can't go into any great detail, but the Crystalline Globe was taken from our command structure. It's believed to have been separated into three pieces. Unfortunately, we're having a lot of trouble relocating it. Perhaps you'd like to [help].'

You say, 'I will help'

Captain Ryglot Cupperhide says 'That's good to hear ______. I wish we had more soldiers like yourself willing to help. I'm going to need you to locate the missing pieces of the globe and bring them back to me. After you've acquired the pieces perhaps you'd be able to rally enough people to lend us a hand with another [mission] objective we've been unable to fulfill do to our diminished numbers.'

You say, 'What mission?'

Captain Ryglot Cupperhide says 'Well, I can't go into any details as to our main purpose is, but one of our missions was to exterminate the crystalline dragon. However, due to our company being split we are unable to go forward with this part of the operation. It has been placed on hold, pending the outcome of the [war].'

You say, 'What war?'

Captain Ryglot Cupperhide says 'Unfortunately, that is one of the things that I'm unable to speak of at this time. However, if you are [willing] to help rally some people together I may be able to release some more information to you.'

You say, 'I'm willing'

Captain Ryglot Cupperhide says 'Well, that's good to hear. Bring me back what I've requested and we'll talk then.'

One piece of the crystalline globe drops off of the Luminii Crawler, one drops off frogs near the bridgehouse, and one drops off of the skellies. Once the Captain recieves the three pieces of the globe, he gives you back the completed globe, which is the key to Aerin'Dar's lair:

Captain Ryglot Cupperhide looks up at you in surprise. 'I can't believe you brought the missing pieces back to me so quickly. I have a team of men who have been looking for these pieces for weeks now. That's quite a feat. Unfortunately, I will be unable to make use of the Crystalline Globe at this time. A message has been dispatched to my platoon asking us to return to the Halls of Honor. It looks as if we'll be joining up with the rest of our company fairly soon. Keep the globe. If you're able to rally enough people together to take on Aerin`Dar then perhaps you'll be able accomplish an objective that our platoon was unable to do. I must go now. Good luck to you ______.'

You gain experience!!

Aerin`Dar hits for ~1,400, is slowable, and has a proc on a -150 MR check, that does 3k dd, and 45% melee slow (SK tank advised). He also has nine mobs in his room that add as you fight him, and are unmezzable. He also has a fear AE with a strong DOT... it does 700 as a DD when hit, then 500/tick until you break the Fear. During the fight, numerous untargetable Mindless Minions will assist (becoming targetable), and finally a named minion, Rahlgon, will assist and become targetable as well.

When he dies, a planar projection spawns. Hail the projection to receive a temporary character flag (it will not give you the yellow "You have received a character flag!" text). You must then proceed directly through the trap door and down the tunnel and actually click on the halls of honor zone in at the end of the canyon. You will receive your permanent flag upon zoning in. If you have not gotten the temporary flag by hailing the astral projection, it will tell you you lack the will to enter the Halls of Honor when clicking on the zone in.

Heart Quest Broken
# Jul 08 2004 at 11:36 AM Rating: Decent
I too am having the same issue with the heart portion of the quest. I am only able to get Paralin to speak to me by saying "I am brave", although there is no prompt from him, he will then begin the dialogue sequence and send you to the Master Sgt. Aaramis. Master Sgt. Aaramis however will not initiate any dialogue other than;
"Master Sergeant Aaramis Darlyn nods in your direction."
It is my understanding that you must do the heart portion of the quest prior to doing the crystal portion. I tried this several times in one evening by zoning out and starting from the beginning exactly as described above and each time the result was the same. I don't want to hand in my hearts unless the correct dialogue is working, otherwise I may lose them like others have.
I too followed the spoiler text exactly as above without success. I have completed the PoJ trials as well.
I can only assume that this quest may be bugged.
Any information will be appreciated.

Gnomish Greetings!

I had the same issue when I did it 2 weeks ago. He responded the same "Master Sergeant Aaramis Darlyn nods in your direction." So, I went back and did the text script from the beginning without zoning. I did not hail Master Sargent Aaramis Darlyn, I went right to 'What glass lair' and this time he gave me the correct response and I was able to complete the quest.

I too had the same problem until I re-read the text above, I had forgotten to hail the Sgt before hailing Paralin.

I hailed him twice got the message indicated then the quest ran smoothly and exactly as indicated.

Buggy Quest
# Jul 03 2004 at 10:37 PM Rating: Decent
42 posts
This quest appears to be a little buggy, specifically if you have been flagged for HoH by killing AD previously.

My story is as follows: I collected all the pieces I needed: frog on west rivers Gamite I think they were called, tree frogs didnt' give me anything. Razors in the west caves, this heart is quite common and the heart from the spiders in the waste area (north of the river bridge by AD's lair). As for the the other items, larve and vasel items I got from the east river side, specifically north east from the human fort. There is a hut with 4 undead in there surrounded by larve as well. Larve are non-kos, but Vasal's have huge agro radius, with the exception of the named Vasal, his was rather small. Just sit there and pull them until you get what you needed, took me 3 hours to get all the items for this quest.

Group used was Enchanter, Cleric and Druid. Just charm a frog and have the chanter mez the frog when charm breaks. Pretty basic stuff, or get a good group to do the run. Highly advised to have a cleric or high end druid to keep up with heals. If you dont' have a slower, you will run oom a lot.

Mob in PoV are either immune to run or not. They seem to be random and there was no indication on which mob would be immune and which would not. Just make sure to have a slower and you should be fine.

As far as the buggy part, if you run through the dialog and the NPC don't give the dialog that they should, then proceede to the last part of the quest and continue to initiate the dialog as indicated above. In my case, Paralin Notion at my hearts and did not give me any dialog of use, just that he was disgusted with what I gave him. If this happens to you, just keep going with the dialog pretending that they are saying something.

The buggy part appears to be before the following:

You say, 'What mission'

Master Sergeant Aaramis Daryln says 'Not too fast ______. You'll have to speak to the Captain about that. I'm not at liberty to divulge that information at this time. That information is classified. I can tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.' Aaramis laughs. 'Go to Captain Ryglot and he'll be able to fill you in with all the details.'

Just keep going and when you see the above dialog you should be in the clear to finish the quest, that is if you are not getting the dialog that the above quest indicates that you should get.

Hope this helps anyone that found themselves with no hearts and stuck in the middle of the key quest because the NPC decided to eat your hearts and left you hanging.

I never had this issue with an alt who did not get flagged for HoH by killing AD and then attempt the key quest. It seems that if you get flagged by doing a AD raid and then you do the key quest yourself, it gets buggy.

I recently did this quest, I have completed PoJ trials, and i hailed the Planar Progression, but when I clicked to zone to HoH i got the "you lack the will to enter this portal safely" message. Any ideas how this could have happened?

I killed AD once before, but it was before i did trials and I got the same message. I have
zoned in through the PoT area since i did trials. Did I do something wrong, or is there a bug, or did I complete the flag when i zoned into HoH through PoT? When i zoned in thru pot i did NOT get a "you have recieved a character flag" message. Thx.

For those who may be a bit confused: To get into HoH before you are lvl 62 you have to do a PoJ trial to get flagged for Valor and Storms, then you have to actually take part in an AD raid and kill AD, then hail the projection for flagging to HoH. The above quest is to obtain a key to get into AD's lair, not to get into HoH. If you have done all these things and stil have a problem you may have done them out of order, if so you need to go speak to the Seer in PoK. Good luck.

This was an annoying one to do and figure out. Especially reading all the spoilers here and seeing the trouble people have been having with this.

As it turns out, I didn't need to do the first part with the hearts. Ironic, since that's the part of the quest that appears to be broken. I ran back and forth a lot doing dialogue, some working, some not. Forgot to do the part with the hearts but that didn't matter. Handed in 4 junk items to clear Captain Ryglot. Did all the dialogue, got the right responses, did the turn in, got the key. Turned in the hearts as an afterthought, got the "disgusted" emote, then hailed and got the "you did the right thing" emote.

As far the pieces, the luminarii was probably the easiest, odd since there's usually only one lumanrii out there at a given time but if you have a tracker, it's not a problem.

Killed 8 or 10 frogs or so to get that drop, they drop off the gamites.

The piece that stymied me was the one from the undead to the point where I'd give up in frustration and not go back for weeks. Partially because they were hard to pull, partically because the piece did not want to drop for me and I think partially because it's hard to get a good pickup gropu in valor. Much frustration. Finally got it with the oddest group, 2 paladins, a wizard, a bard, a shadow knight and a monk. No healer. I was tanking, the other paladin was healing me mostly with supernal cleansing, we had so much dps, the skels were hardly touching me. When the chanter went LD and the cleric left, I thought we were toast, funny how things can work out in the end.

I've attended a succesfull raid on the dragon and went to the portal and didn't get into HoH.
Now I know thats because I haven't finished a PoJ Trial yet. My question is the following:

When I finish a Trial and get that flag and fix the flags with the Seeer in PoK, do I need to zone through the portal in PoV again?
And if I do, is it possible to get to the portal without raiding the dragon again?

I just completed this quest today for two characters.

Firstly, the script DOES still sometimes get jammed up. If the NPC's dont give the correct responses, do NOT hand in the items, they will get eaten, and you will have to get a GM to reimburse them

Secondly, People with the Aerin'Dar flag can now do the quest, and get all the responses as normal. My main is EP flagged, and I did the quest with him fine.
Rules for turn in
# Nov 23 2003 at 10:16 PM Rating: Good
1) Clear the turn in NPC. Hand 4 junk items to make sure nobody has done a partial turn in

2) Follow the dialogue exactly. Don't skip to the last phrase. You have spent this much time getting all the pieces, it would suck to have your NPC think it is a gift or just eat it and you get nothing.

3) Never stack. Hand one item to one slot. Don't just drop on the NPC or you may find the items auto stacked.

4) Whenever possible have all the pieces for a quest even if it is a two or three part quest. Unless you are trying to get a mob to spawn, gather all the pieces when you are ready to do a turn in. This will help with game flow and if you'll need a raid party for more than one mob, you will have them all there and can just move to the next big nasty mob.

Lumnarii = Globe
Undead = Shard

I got the "staff" looking piece off the frog, and the "orb" looking piece off the crawler.
levitate
# Oct 26 2003 at 11:43 PM Rating: Decent
I needed levitate to do this quest. To get to Johson & Paralin. They were walking around on top of the tent. I had to buy a anti-weight potion, get on my horse and come floating over the appropiate tent by bouncing off the white building first near the graveyard.

I also did not put a period on the end of my .. "I am here to aid the cause." quote. That screwed it all up and I had to reset it.
Its working!
# Oct 17 2003 at 8:19 PM Rating: Decent
If you do not get the right answers from the NPCs then its because someone has started the quest and not yet finished it completely.
Check that noone is running it currently with a shout or ooc.
If noone is doing it, then just to all the talking and do not hand anything in until one of the NPCs ask for it.
I got all the wrong answers and emotes until Captain Ryglot that asked for the globe pieces.
I handed the globe pieces in and got the globe.
Now I got the hearts to start the quest for guildie. :)
It can be done!

OK. I completed this quest today, 02-Oct-2003. I had previously killed AD, gotten flagged from the Presence, and zoned into HoH. I have also done the trials in HoH prior to doing this key quest.

The first time I tried turning in the items, they were all eaten (orbs and hearts.)

I petitioned and a GM gave me back all the parts. I then asked her if the quest could be done if you are already flagged on AD and she said she "thought" you could not do the quest.

Undeterred by this "advice," I forged ahead since I had the stuff again anyhow so why not;P

I went back and tried turning in one of the hearts (after doing the text up to that point and *not* getting the correct reponses from the NPC's.) It was promptly eaten.

You can tell when an item on this quest gets eaten because the NPC will say something like "go away dont bother me" or "he turns away in disgust at the sight of your gift" etc.

OK thinking that only the hearts were screwed up, I continued on with the text again. When I got to Captain Ryglot, I *forgot* to say one of the key phrases and skipped to the end. I turned in 1 piece of an orb to see what happened and it was promply eaten. /sigh

Time for sleep, try again tomorrow.

Next day, I went and killed the Luminii Crawler (a good test piece to use cuz its almost always up) and looted a new piece. This time I went to every NPC in the zone not involved in this text and exhausted all their key phrases.

Then I went back and started the quest over with Johon Popoah like the spoiler above show. The only difference was I first said "I am brave" then said "I am stupid" then repeated "I am brave" to Paralin Notion. --- not sure if this matters but I was being safe.

I followed the walk thru exactly as described above and was able to get *all* the correct NPC text up to where you turn in the hearts. As I did not have the hearts anymore (they all got eaten on previous attempts) I just continued on hailing Master Seargeant Aaramis.

He did *not* give me the correct response to "hail."

I then asked him "what glass lair" and he gave some stupid emote--not the correct response.

I then asked him "what about Aerin'dar" -- he gave some other different emote.

I then asked "what company" and again I got some emote in place of the proper NPC text.

Finally I said, "what mission" and he spoke to me correctly!

I went to Captain Ryglot and continued on with the key phrases as is described all the way up to and including "I am willing."

At this point I turned in one part of the globe and the Captain took it without saying anything.

I turned in the next two parts together and bam--You get experience and your shiny completed orb!!

It can be done, dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

IMO, you must make sure you hit ALL the key phrases IN ORDER--dont skip anything.

Also when the walk thru above tells you to go to Master Seargeant the first time, DO NOT hail him--just walk up to him and say "i am here to aid the cause." if you hail him u need to start over again--hailing him seems to botch things up.

G'luck and send me a tell on Tunare if u need any help with this if I'm online -- name: Crane

Thanks to all those that helped me figure this out!

It's just like the PoI factory key you get from Xanamech (a flag for hailing an NPC in that case)... one member having a completed key can let everyone in. Even players not in the raid can get in if they do so while the door is open.

I have followed these direction to the letter but everytime I tell Master Sergean Aaramis Daryln, "I am here to aid the cause," I get an emote "Master Sergeant Aaramis Darlyn nods in your direction."

He cons indifferently to me.

I procede straight to the master sergeant at SoW speed once Paralin tells me to and only give the master sergeant the trigger phrase without hailing him or anyone else first.

When I return to Paralin and re-hail him, he only turns to face me without giving the the next part of the quest.

I attempted to give him the 3 hearts anyway, but he emoted, "Paralin Notion looks at you in disgust and wonders why you did that." He kept the hearts of course, but didnt give the next part of the quest and Master Seargeant Aaramis Darylin till wont speak with me.

Anyone know the problem here? Is there a faction quest that has to be done first? Any insght appreciated. Thanx.

Are you sure you followed all the steps to the letter? I had the same probem. Hailing any of the quest NPC's only got me a nod. Saying the lines worked with some of the NPC's, but not the Master Sargeant. Then I realized I missed the very firsy step!!!!!

Find Sergeant Johson Popoah and hail him twice. I forgot to get the dialogue for this. However, he says something like "Leave before there is bloodshed." Immediately go see Paralin, and hail him. Both are in the tents near zone in.

So I zoned out, zoned back in ( probably not needed) found Popoah (same tent as Paralin) and hailed him twice. Then I went on with the quest exactly as the spoiler says and everything worked as advertised.

I already killed AD and have the flag for HoH, but wanted to use this section of PoValor as an experience camp to power level my second account up. Only problem is, I can get into the room with the globe now, but cannot pop over to the other side. Does AD have to be up in order to click the globe to get over to the other side? Was hoping this could be a good exp section of PoV for me where I wasn't as likely to suffer the mistakes (trains) of other people.

Just did this quest today, and the NPCs didn't respond right and I tried just giving the hearts. He ate them as well.

But then I just skipped it and went to Captain Ryglot Cupperhide and hailed him.

He gave me all the appropriate text leading up to asking for the pieces of the globe, so I took a shot and gave them to him.

He accepted them like normal and gave me the A Crystalline Globe key to AD's Lair.

So if the hearts part wont work for you, give in the shards to the captain and you should be all set.

Info is wrong, i tried giving globes to captain after other npc didnt accept hearts. Captain ate them.

Just did it after GM gave items back :). You have to do the whole thing, even if npc's dont responed. Just say it. And Paralin will eat your hearts.

Adds are mezzable

The mobs that add'ed through the fight were mezzable with Bliss. We also used Druids(for snare) and chanters without Bliss for Root(no damage root). Worked out quite well. =)

It keeps on going for an amount of time, even after your Fear is broken... And theres no icon to let you know that it's fading away or anything, you just got to pray you don't get feared to begin with. (Stay behind him)
