Ok I just killed Zahal and Regis not more than 30 minutes ago on the ECI server so this is not a broke quest. Right after Zahal went down Regis spawned on the NE corner of North Karana. Woohoo on my way to get some faction points done now.

I work with Sister Blaize to forge the most elegant finery for clerics known to man or beast. Because we have no need for material wealth here in the temple, we ask that you retrieve [ingots and icons] from the lost or fallen brothers and sisters of our order. When mixed with some enchanted, [galvanized], [vulcanized], or [magnetized] platinum into an alloy, the items I can forge are splendid indeed!' You say, 'ingots and icons' Gavel the Temperant says, 'The ingots and icons are all named after the virtues of the cleric who held them. The virtues I require are those of the [reverent], the [constant], and the [devout].' You say, 'reverent' Gavel the Temperant says, 'Regis the Reverent fell in love with a gypsy girl named Lianna Ferasa who lives in the Rathe Mountains. Ask her what has become of him. You say, 'killed' Lianna Ferasa says, 'He was killed in the northern tree line to the east in North Karana. If you kill Zahal, Regis' body will rise from the place where he died. If my flute is on the body, please bring it to me.' You say, 'Zahal the Vile' Lianna Ferasa says, 'Zahal roams the plains of North Karana. Kill him and you will free my beloved's soul.' Zahal the Vile is a ghoul around level 30 or so who spawns in the NE part of NK. Use sense undead to find him. Spawns at - 1800, 200 (down the hill from the Guard Tower has a spawn time of around 4 hours and has conned blue AND white at lvl 30. Have someone sluaghter the Undead camp at loc -3200, -2100 and use Sense undead to find Zahal Spawns immediately after Zahal dies at 1450, -1560 at the tree line. Find this loc before starting the quest so you can just run to him an slaughter him after Zahal. At this loc you will find a tree on a hill. He spawns in front of it. He is a healer. He is a zombie. You need to kill him and loot his corpse to loot the Ingot of the Reverent and Lianna's Flute. Lianna Ferasa says, 'Thank you for setting his spirit free. Keep his memory alive with this.' You receive Icon of the Reverant from Lianna Ferasa. Gavel the Temperant says, 'Impressive, do you have the rest?' Gavel the Temperant says, 'Impressive, do you have the rest?' Hunting HGs and Griffs from the Guard Tower... picked up Zahal on track so /OOCd his location and asked if anyone was camping Regis... noone claimed him, there was nothing else on track that could give me XP so I went over and killed him... fortunately he wasn't too far from the north tree-line, so I checked Track as soon as Zahal dropped... lo and behold, Regis was top of the list... the werewolf hunter NPCs were right in front of him and they didn't interfer on either side as I kited Regis about and finished him off... Regis DDs for 40, hits for around 50 and heals himself... but the heal is only occaisional, so a single DoT WILL wear him down

btw... this happened TODAY, on the Prexus server... so the spawn/placeholder thing IS still working, even after the Bertox Plague :)

This Quest is broken. Zahal's spawn point is now random and Regis either no longer spawns or is killed by the new NPC's introdueced in his old spawn area as he spawns. This likely dates back to the Bertoxx change in NK. Has anyone sucessfully located a regis spawn since?

You need platinum bars to be enchanted for the quest, and platinum bars do not come cheap. I've heard people mention in the 200's.
I am an enchanter with around 170cha, and one bar only costs me about 100pp. Save yourself some cash, and ask the enchanter who is enchanting the platinum for you to buy the platinum as well.
(Give them the money to buy it and something else if the enchanter needs it or is a jerk about it, but you'll save yourself money in the long run.) On top of that, they can just enchant it before returning the platinum back to you, so it works out rather well. =)

I don't think he's on a 4hr timer. I think zahal spawns at 8pm game time. this is just a suspicion, though. I didn't keep close time, but it was over 4 hrs.

Regis was up when I zoned into North Karana this evening. With the help of two higher-level guild members, we made short work of him. I never saw Zahal. Presumably the NPC werewolf hunters got him.

Where does one get the ingot and icon of the Reverant? I've never seen it as a drop.

I had killed Zihal a few days ago and Regis did not spawn...but I just killed Zihal again tonight and Regis spawned, so perhaps the quest is only broken once and a while.

So I was camping him recently and almost had him when the 4 NPC's that roam that treeline came up and decided that it was my time to die. I thought that I may have attacked them by accident, no worries. BUT I had bound myself there in case I killed Zahal far away and had to gate back to get him. Well naturally I come back in and Regis immediately starts attacking me and on top of that the 4 NPC's were too. WOOT. ALT-CTRL-DEL stoppped that for a bit. Whoever posted that the NPC's kill him was dead wrong. Maybe the plague screwed with their brains?

I was in the Karanas the other day with my guild leader, a 55 druid, and he picked up regis on tracking. We went a whacked him and he had me loot. This was just a couple days ago, while the plague is ongoing.
I am going to try to run through the quest and give the bracers to a cleric in the guild.

I was kiting Griffs and HGs in NK and I saw him come up on tracking. Since I am lazy and didnt do the quest right away, I couldn't get him the second time I saw him. /shrug But he still spawns. Not sure if he is linked to Zahal now or not though.

I beleive this quest was broken at the introduction of the Karana plague historical event. Regis no longer spawns after Zahal is killed!

Hi, I have with friends now killed Zahal 4 times, no regis popped. I have told gms they say no problem, what's going on?

Ok, I've seen Zahal get killed by NPCs several times today, and Regis never spawned any of those times. Is it now necessary for Zahal to be killed by PCs to get Regis to spawn?

i think the spawn rate has slowed !! as servers get older spawns become mroe and mroe rare ... i camped this thing for days and only had it spawn 1 time and the regis never spawned then !! :(

If you are not a cleric you shouldn't be doing this quest. Clerics have a hard emough time trying to afford all their equipment without ppl taking all their quest stuff. Even if I had the pp to buy some of these i wouldn't buy it from anyone but a cleric. You all have your own quests to do without taking ours

at lvl 39 zahal was blue to me but regis was green.zahal: X root and 2 drones of doom he was dead easy little melee to finish him when he turned to run.regis: X root 4 drones of doom 3 imolates and 2 300dmg nukes and i was OOM barely killed him with 2 bubs hp left this guy kept chain nukin me interupting my spells

Um, if you get a chanter friend to buy the plat for you, you can get both bars for about 220pp or so...if not, my Dorf can get the bars in FP for about 260. =\ Yeah, kinda steep, but consider this...
The items itself is 9ac, 5wis. Is that worth 220pp to you? Man, average server price on these things is like 1kpp. It's a steal for 220. =P Anyway, it's worth it to me, so I plan to get 2 of them. Prolly a third to sell. =D
But, my point is, for the stats on this item, and considering it's questable, it is VERY worth it. =P

Findiar, once you have the Ingot and Icon and your enchanted bars of platinum.. Head to Temple of Solusek RO and seek out Gavel the Temperant.
He is in the back chamber, can't miss him.
Hail him.. etc..

My experience killing Zahal was a good one. I was a 35 Druid hunting in NK and got him on track. Killed him since he was blue. Not too tough. Root-Dot-Nap-Dot-Reroot-Nap-Loot. Got the belt.
Never saw Regis even though I tracked right after. Someone must have been camping his spawn point or the fab four got him :P

Do you get both bracers when you do this quest or do you have to do the quest twice to get both of them?

I just finished camping Regis, He spawned as was previously stated in a cluster of trees along the north edge of zone near the Withered Treant. at 1450, -1560 there is a cluster of three trees he spawned twords the rear of the cluster at the very edge of the zone. it took 4 hours and 5 minutes for it to pop, it also may have been a coincidence but Zahal spawned Immedietly after i wiped out the undead camp near the druids. He had both the components that i needed for the quest (flute and ingot). It was very very simple for me and my friends to take him (41 cleric, 38 SK, 34 Druid) he was only alive long enough for two expel undead casts that hit for maximum damage
