Find Gavel the Temperant in Temple of Solusek Ro at /loc +417, +36, +3.

You say, 'Hail, Gavel the Temperant'

Gavel the Temperant says, 'May the fires of Solusek Ro warm your innards! I am Gavel the Temperant. I work with Sister Blaize to forge the most elegant finery for clerics known to man or beast. Because we have no need for material wealth here in the temple, we ask that you retrieve [ingots and icons] from the lost or fallen brothers and sisters of our order. When mixed with some enchanted, [galvanized], [vulcanized], or [magnetized] platinum into an alloy, the items I can forge are splendid indeed!'

You say, 'ingots and icons'

Gavel the Temperant says, 'The ingots and icons are all named after the virtues of the cleric who held them. The virtues I require are those of the [reverent], the [constant], and the [devout].'

You say, 'reverent'

Gavel the Temperant says, 'Regis the Reverent fell in love with a gypsy girl named Lianna Ferasa who lives in the Rathe Mountains. Ask her what has become of him. Bring me the ingot of the Reverent, the icon of the Reverent, and 2 enchanted platinum bars and I will forge them into a reward for you.'

  • Speak to Lianna Ferasa in Rathe Mountains.

She is located at the gypsy camp located near the Lake Rathe zone line.

    You say, 'Hail, Lianna Ferasa'

    You say, 'who is regis'

Lianna Ferasa says, 'Regis was my one true love, but he was [killed] and his soul enslaved by [Zahal the Vile].'

    You say, 'killed'

Lianna Ferasa says, 'He was killed in the northern tree line to the east in North Karana. If you kill Zahal, Regis' body will rise from the place where he died. If my flute is on the body, please bring it to me.'

    You say, 'Zahal the Vile'

Lianna Ferasa says, 'Zahal roams the plains of North Karana. Kill him and you will free my beloved's soul.'

  • Kill Zahal the Vile

Zahal the Vile is a ghoul around level 30 or so who spawns in the NE part of NK. Use sense undead to find him. Spawns at - 1800, 200 (down the hill from the Guard Tower has a spawn time of around 4 hours and has conned blue AND white at lvl 30. Have someone sluaghter the Undead camp at loc -3200, -2100 and use Sense undead to find Zahal

  • Kill Regis the Reverent

Spawns immediately after Zahal dies at 1450, -1560 at the tree line. Find this loc before starting the quest so you can just run to him an slaughter him after Zahal. At this loc you will find a tree on a hill. He spawns in front of it. He is a healer. He is a zombie. You need to kill him and loot his corpse to loot the Ingot of the Reverent and Lianna's Flute.

  • Give Lianna's Flute you looted off Regis the Reverant to Lianna Ferasa.

Lianna Ferasa says, 'Thank you for setting his spirit free. Keep his memory alive with this.'

You receive Icon of the Reverant from Lianna Ferasa.

  • Head back to Temple of Solusek Ro and give Gavel the Temperant the Ingot of the Reverent, Icon of the Reverent and 2 Enchanted Platinum Bar

Gavel the Temperant says, 'Impressive, do you have the rest?'
Gavel the Temperant says, 'Impressive, do you have the rest?'
Gavel the Temperant says, 'Impressive, do you have the rest?'
Gavel the Temperant says, 'Wear this with pride!'

You receive Bracers of the Reverent.

    Hiya all,
As a 48 druid doing this quest for a friend, I found that he doesn't seem to heal himself when stack-dotted.

    Hope this helps!

    Zahal does still trigger Regis...
In the normal course of time Zahal will spawn and, if left alone, will aggro random NPCs and die, this causes Regis to spawn which is why sometimes you see Regis up and never see Zahal. Also the famous werewolf hunting gang that roams the N zone line can aggro and kill Regis thus resetting the cycle.

Your goal is to intercede in this cycle and loot Regis. Optionally you can hunt for Zahal and kill him to force Regis but this is a waste IMO since he will either die on his own or be killed by a player without you doing anything. My method is to simply wait for or check for Regis at the north zone line, there is a /loc in this thread somewhere but basically he's up on the n zone line in a mix of about 4 trees that are a little east of the withered treant spawn (not the xani-whatever named treant.) To get bracers for my cleric alt I camped my mage up on the zone line within sight of the trees where Regis spawns and then played an alt, logging my mage each time I logged in and out of EQ until I found Regis up. To get a bracer for my cleric friend I just checked track with my bard each time I passed through NK until I found either Regis or Zahal up.

Also as stated in this thread the werewolf hunters who roam the n zone line and the treants are KOS to evil races, as I never tried for Regis with an evil character I don't have much advice except that the withered treant is a level 50 druid mob and xani-whatsisname is red at 51 but they don't roam while the werewolf hunters are a mix of mid 30s caster/melee/pet classes that occasionally wander the n zone line and will eventually cross Regis' spawn and sometimes even kill him.

As for the quest, yea there are other wis bracers in the game but for the level to do this quest these are the best ones IMO unless you REALLY can't afford the weight because what they say is true, AC IS king.
    No more Zahal

Every time I run through NK I cast sense undead to see if he is there and all 4 times (I dont come here often) it has been Regis, but no Zahal. No one is ever camping either one of them so i just collect em up and sell in EC to the twinkers. Easy way to make money except for the plat bars you have to buy. I guess verant decided to get rid of zahal and just give you the money guy. Whatever, just my observations

Once you have both the Icon and the Ingot go to the Temple of Solusek Ro. On the first floor, in the large central chamber, you will find a dwarf in plate mail named Gavel the Temperant. He is the one that gives out the Reverent quest. Give him the Icon of the Reverent, Ingot of the Reverent and two unstacked Enchanted Platinum Bars all at the same time. He will give back to you one Bracers of the Reverent.

I stayed up late to camp Zahal. I sit there from 2:30 A.M. to around 4:30 A.M. About every minute or so I cast sense the dead. Zarhal comes up, and throws me off, even though I'm ready for him. I cast enstill, panic the dead, sermon of the rightoues on him. No problems there. Expel undead hits once or twice. Enstill breaks and he comes and melees me to death, him resisting every spell I try and cast after that. I leave him at 1/4 health.

I was planning on getting my corpse and leaving, but a druid had finished of Zahal. So I gate back to the Regis spawn, and try to kill him. I screwed up my mouse by putting it on invert, and bounce, so I can't see him and he beats me to half life until I can finally click on him. I would have had him, but he kept healing, so I die again. I spawn at bind and keep nuking him, I die again. I spawn once again and he's at 1/10th health, I nuke him, and for once I'm the one doing the killing.

Cost me 7 blues of exp to get the stuff, but over all I'm happy. I was level 34(now 33), and I had a tough time killing Zahal, due to resists, so I suggest you be a bit higher before you try.

I saw Zahal and he conned dk blue to my 39 Druid. He was named so I thought why not! Did not know about the quest and a lvl 32 Cleric was shouting for help with Regis. I went in and took him down. Now have all the pieces and going to help twink a Cleric friend. Moral of this story is...both were a piece of cake to a 39 Druid. Good hunting.

Killing Regis is about as easy (and fun) as killing Kathy Lee. The problem is those goody-twoshoes NPCs Nibs Aleswiller and his sidekicks. Good races complain about them KSing Regis. We Darkies have to worry about them killing US. My DEF cleric 40 was slain PDQ by Nibs and his poisonous blade. Hard to get roots, gate etc. off when getting pounded. DA no help that far from zone. In a subsequent attempt- I barely made it to EK zone alive. The previous poster is correct, Aleswiller has a HUGE aggro radius, and he likes us as much as werewolves/undead.

Moral of the story, get a tank to help you if you can in case these punks show up.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 06 2002 at 10:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) So there I was, sitting on the south side of the Guard Tower hill, with Expel Undead, Dismiss Undead, Sense the Dead, Holy Might, Enstill, etc. at my disposal for dropping Zahal. I had been waiting about two hours - originally trying to keep the other undead spawns clear (which was wasting too much mana) - when I decided to just camp the pop spot. Low and behold, what should then happen upon me but a half-dead Hill Giant who was done killing the guards but still thirsty for blood.
    Unusual event.

I was passing through the karanas last night, and while in NK, noticed the zone was nearly empty. Cast sense the dead to see if regis or zahal were up. It targets regis the reverent. I shout to see if anyone is camping him, and they are not. I head up the hill east of his spawn point (to avoid the werewolf hunters), and cast expel undead to pull him. Plan to follow with a stun, then root. Spell hits for full 264 damage, and I cast my stun, which hits for full 75 and stuns him. Then I notice he is still running toward me. Well, one of him is, because for some bizarre reason, I got a double spawn. Anyway, I had the one I already cast on stunned, but the other interrupted my root, so I got both of them meleeing on me. I got one down to 20 life, and was at 3 bubbles myself, so I figured I was gonna at least be able to kill one, divine aura, loot, and then run (had sow). Well, the healthy regis healed the other one up to about 70% life, and I decided to run. They followed me toward the EK zone, but stopped when I zoned. When I came back in, after medding and healing, they were still sitting there. I couldn't take both, so figured i would split them up, zone again, and hope they sat still after I zoned again. I creep up to max spell range, root one, and head straight for the zone. after zoning out and back in, I find the one I did not root right at the edge of the bridge, I root him, and Expel repeatedly. He cast smite several times, which I partially or fully resisted each time (mr at 80 with buffs). He died, I looted the items, then sat and medded up. Get to full mana, and shoot over to where I rooted the other. Still there, so repeat the root, expel. Stun whenever root breaks, and then reroot. Killed him too. by this time there are 13 people in the zone, so I shout for a cleric. Only one in zone is lvl 51, and doesn't need, but decides to take the items anyway when he finds that they are rotting.

BTW, This was with a lvl 35 cleric. Regis is cake for me at this level, unless something bizarre like this happens. Has anyone else ever gotten a double regis spawn?
    RE: Unusual event.
    # Jan 23 2002 at 11:30 AM Rating: Decent
I have seen the double Regis a couple of times. Seems that if Regis is still up when Zahal dies after he respawns (4 hours i think) you'll get a double Regis.
They must have changed the pathing on the werewolf hunters because once upon a time you had to haul butt over to Regis as soon as Zahal died so that you could pull him away from the zone edge and the path of the hunters. Now he can be up for hours and hours without getting smacked down by the werewolf hunters...

I feel like a complete idiot but must ask -- now that I have all the stuff: the enchanted platinum bars, the icon...WHAT DO I DO WITH THEM???? I can't find in the quest description how these items become the bracer.

BTW -- Went looking for Zahal, prepared to wait four hours, and found him WITH the flute in just five minutes. Hehe...just had to gloat about that a bit. Still need an answer to the question, please.

    And, thanks.

I was at the Gypsy camp and used sense undead and Regis popped up on my target. I'm lvl 35 and had a 34 wizzie friend with me. Obviously he didnt last long. =) He only casted on me once. If this helps at all. I rooted him from a distance, and just blasted him and blasted him. My wizard friend didnt cast on him till half life, and the only time he cast on me or hit me was after the root broke. I'm wondering if his spell range is limited? Anyhow good luck.

I killed Regis twice yesterday within an hour. Killing the undead at the monolith seemed to spawn him... sometimes. Happened for me 2 times in an hour, of course that could've been really lucky.

Neither time did Zahal spawn first (or if he did, he died before I could find him on my Ranger's 51 tracking or my with Cleric's Sense Undead).

I think Zehal might not spawn anymore. I used to see him from time to time while running through NK or hunting there, but not lately.

Regis does not spawn IMMEDIATELY after Zahal is slain. There is a bit of a wait sometimes. I've killed Zahal a number of times and only seen Regis pop right afterward once. I waited a good hour once, made me wonder if the spawn was broken. If you do end up waiting it's usually only about 10 min. Just wanted to clear up that little misnomer there so as to save the GM's some headaches, they have enough as is.

    # Dec 07 2001 at 12:19 AM Rating: Default
I hunted Regis 4 times, being a fairly low level Cleric, I couldn't kill him with haste on my own, so I was ks'd (twice) by NPCs.
To get to the point, he spawned all 4 times "immediatly" after Zahal died, I bound myself near his spawn location and gated right after Zahal died. He was there before I gated...everytime.
You probably got ks'd by the wandering npc's if you tried to run to him after Zahal died.

The hardest part of this quest is finding an enchanter high enough to enchant the bar of platinum. Just Killed Zahal (again) and this time I knew about Regis spawning instead of letting him despawn like he probably did the first time. DOH! This quest armor rocks on a new server none of that twink crap or just buy it for 500 plat. (few people have 500 plat) This server rocks :)

Well to start off, Zahal spawns in 2 spots, one is by the gypsy camp and the other, is at the loc that is mention in the quest (location - 1800, 200). I haven't seen him spawn at the undead camp and I camped him 2 days straight, but I wouldn't put it past him. From what I noticed, Regis will spawn not matter who kills Zahal (even if the guards kill him), so don't waste the mana trying to kill Zahal. Also, Zahal's spawn timer is very close to 4.5 hours, but showing up 30 min early wouldn't hurt.
Regis's spawn loc is correct. I would suggest having another caster there to help deal out damage, but if you attempt to solo him, wait until around 34.
If you do solo, be prepared, and have full mana before he spawns, waiting to med when he has already spawned, will only allow the npc's to ks you. Attack Regis right away, get his helth to half way down, then fear, stun, nuke, repeat. If you're lucky, he won't run into some other npc (like the named treant that hangs around the area), that's why you stun him. Fearing him will keep him from healing himself.

After working on this quest for about 20 RL hours, selling half my equip to get the two enchanted plat bars, and prostituting myself for a ride to Lava, I finally made it to Solusk Ro with all the components, strolled right on up to the Woman Cleric, gave her the stuff, and presto.......nothing.

Finally finished the darn thing today. Must admit most cleric quest armor is easy aside from a freakin' spawn you have to wait for, in this case, Zahal the Vile. I'm a 52 ranger with 198 tracking skill, so it pretty much covers the entire zone and with /tracksort set at normal, the tracklist shows the most recent spawns on top of the list.

With this in mind, I parked myself in the North part of the zone, just North of the gypsy camp where I was told he usually hung out by some shakily reliable source. From there, I started chacking track every minute or so. After about an hour and a half, there he was, finally, Zahal the Vile. I ran right to him and was very surprised to find him at the druid ring, the lil bugger spawns at the undead ruins, and not in the North part of the zone as I had been informed, he does head there after a while however, but if you want to make sure to get your paws on him first, I'd recommend parking your behind at the ruins instead.

The rest of the quest is easy, I hope this proves helpful to some.

This quest walkthrough is great. But there is one thing missing...

What is the location of Lianna Ferasa? I'd post it myself but I'm still trying to get the last component for the quest from Lianna.

Trust me =P This would be very usefull information for us DE clerics.

So far, My attempts at finding Lianna In Rathe Mnts. has gone something like this...

    1. Approach a hut.
    2. Swing door open.
    3. Scream "OMG! That's not her!!!"
    4. Run like hell to the zone.
    5. Repeat steps 1-4 on the next hut.
