Upon completing the second Marsinger Hybrid quest, you'll be prompted for a third:
You say, 'What final task?' Stefan Marsinger says 'In my personal studies I have heard rumor that there are four archaic tomes that contain some of Innoruuk's darkest secrets. I cannot ask you to uncover all four, I am not even certain that they exist. The fabled tomes are the Compendium of Classic Torture, Texts on Pain, Writ of Agony, and Tactical Hatred. If they do indeed exist and you manage to find them, you are far grander than I. The tome that I do seek will most likely lie in the hands of one of Innoruuk's own confidantes, and they seldom seem to show their faces. It is possible the Prince of Hate himself holds the tomes close. Find me the Compendium of Classic Torture; return it to me with your Gem of Daring and your work is finished.' The Compendium of Classic Torture drops off named mobs in Tier 4 of the Plane of Hate. Bring this along with your Gem of Daring to Stefan in exchange for the third reward, Gem of Heroism. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

drops off tier 1-4 SK-like nameds (dread lord, gravelord, ire ghast, scorn banshee). however it is EXTREMELY rare, as are the nameds spawns (insert much rage here). we got all 3 books for the fourth before we ever saw one for the third. i suppose this is good anyways since third gem sucks without FT. =P We spent at least 2 months solely in hate, and got 3 marsingers glimmering finished and 1 second hybird and 1 third caster. pain in the *** camps, nice rewards.

Had this drop off the Lord of Ire, tier 1 mini who's PH is an Ire Ghast. He spawns not far from zone in.
Easy kill, probably soloable by some classes.
You dont need to be killing the Maestro or Inny to complete this quests.

Also drops off of the Mistress of Scorn, also a Tier 1 miniboss.

Had it drop off the Mistress of Scorn last night.
Picked it up off of Dread Knight T'Kamax, the Tier3 Shadowknight miniboss.
It would seem it dropps off of random mos as well but is a constant drop off the evil bard
It Drops off Maestro.. Confirmed .. Lukna (65 BL) in Dark Bane of Mith Marr got it a few Weeks ago... If your not in a raiding guild you can scrach this off your list of quest to compleat..
Maestro is NOT an Eazy kill.. in fact he's barly worth the im and enrgy expended in killing him... Just a PITA fight

maestro is not the only mob that drops this... several others mobs are reported as dropping it.

Does not drop off meastro, as I have the compendium and I have never killed him )
Wish I could say wich mob I looted it off of but, things were hectic.

What you mean to say is it drops also off other mobs in the zone, this does not exclude it from dropping of Maestro of course.
