(You must have completed the initial newbie starting quest to do this quest, plus the quests to become an Initiate.)

You say, 'Hail, High Seer Flogk'

High Seer Flogk seemingly ignores Narom, while reveling in the miracle of Marr's, blessing then turns to listen.

High Seer Flogk says 'Greetings there, young initiate! It is good that you have come to see me again. I have been following your progress through the tasks that you have been sent on, and I must say, you make a very promising young soldier. It is nearing the time that you venture out into the world on your own, for purposes of exploration, and to serve the Guktan Army. As this time grows near, it also is time to begin your induction as a young soldier. One of the last remaning tasks you must complete is to venture out into the swamp, as well as our home of old, and retrieve for me several items that I require. Are you [ready for this task]?

You say, 'I am ready for this task'

High Seer Flogk seems to look into the distance, but suddenly blinks as Narom unapologetically interrupts this silent meditation.

High Seer Flogk says 'I thought you might be, in fact, I had hoped so. This task that I have for you will gather the components that I require to create a soulstone for you. The soulstone is one of our means of identification, and is actually infused with your aura during the creation process. The soulstone is unique to you, and will be used throughout your training. Now, enough chatter, the components I requre are a polished waterstone, sparkling dust, and a vial of swampwater. When you have located these items, give them to me, and I will combine them to make the stone, and upon successful creation, I will give you further instructions.

Turn in the polished waterstone, sparkling dust, and a vial of swampwater you receive the soulstone. Take the soulstone and your Initiates Brooch and combine in an oven and get back the Guktan Initiates Soulstone.

I set out to do this quest on the Oakwynd TLP server in the PoP / LoY era. I completed my Initiate's Brooch quest as well as the quest for the Soldier's Brooch of the Virtuous (these were for a Froglok Paladin).

I came to High Seer Flogk, hailed him, and he didn't respond at all. Not even saying the key word on this post made him give me any sort of response. But I figured I'd set out to go see if those ground spawns existed anyway, and each one did: Sro, Innothule, and Upper Guk. I collected the 3 and then headed back to Flogk and turned them in, and he responded with

[Mon Jan 15 01:08:06 2024] High Seer Flogk says, 'High Seer Flogk says 'Excellent, you have found all of the items that I need to make the soulstone!' as he goes to work in crafting the items together. 'Allright, there you are, now, what you need to do is take this item, and you Initiates Brooch, and fire it in an oven. This will finish the soulstone, and give you the identification stone that we will use to keep track of you. Good luck, young soldier!'

And handed me the Unfinished Soulstone.

So, the quest appears to work just fine in this era, even though hailing High Seer Flogk and using any keywords do not give any dialogue. Off to go see if I can do the combine!

only downside is that the soulstone is not flagged as a shield, thus you cannot BASH with it. not very helpful to pally's and warriors who wanna work up bash skill.
Soulstone of Gukta?
# Jul 24 2004 at 12:16 PM Rating: Decent
I saw this item on a magelo.
Soulstone of Gukta
Slot: PRIMARY SECONDARY RANGE
Required level of 51.
Effect: Prayer of Gukta (Casting Time: 30.0)
WT: 0.1 Size: SMALL
Class: CLR SHM
Race: FRG

The effect is Prayer of Gukta: Teleport to Innothule Swamp

Can anyone direct me to how I can obtain this item? I have been unable to find a quest for it, maybe I am looking in the wrong place or maybe it is no longer in the game..

This is a Tradeskilled Item. Like all the other Prayerstones. Pottery, Trivs around 335 for the unfired, and at 41 for the fired.

Wow, this has to be the easiest, most relaxing quest I've done yet. Compared to this, the monk shackle quests are like being tortured in saddam's prisons. I just went to the /loc's and there were the little bags with the items. Does the soulstone actually do anything or unlock any other quests? I will keep it, it isn't to bad an item, but I can't bash with it so I wont use it.
Initiates Quest: Forgot where you were?
# Apr 04 2004 at 12:33 AM Rating: Decent
This post is for anyone that started the Initiate's Quest way back when, got sidetracked and then picked it up at a later date.

Seek out Rukta Sroreki by the tree in the Gukta Courtyard. Hail him and say, "Show me my progress." He will report which steps of the Initiate's Quest you have completed and prompt you where to go next. Once you complete the tasks (ends with getting the Froglok Traitor tongue), you will be presented with your class earring (+3 wis for clerics - not bad), and then you will be able to complete the Soulstone Quest.

BTW look for the Froglok Traitor around the Guk entrance. I slaughtered the area with my ranger and that seemed to help the spawn rate. May have been a coincidence though. Dropped the tongue after 6-7 kills.

I'm a little curious about this item. Why? Because it's the one thing for the Soulstone quest that you DON'T need to find. You get it automatically at the start of your frogloks career and unless you lose it you'll have it until you make your soulstone. Then it's gone.

Or is it? ...

The other day i happened to be in Gukta due to the 5th anniversary quests info i wanted to get, also because i was waiting for friends to log. As I was practicing brewing, i decided to hop over to Gloorg and see if I could spend some practice points more effectively.

As soon as I hailed him, he made some comment about me losing my Brooch (even though it was part of my Soulstone quest, which I was carrying mind you). To this end he REPLACED my brooch so now I've completed all of the Gukta Cleric quests and i STILL have my brooch?

Is there something else you can do with the brooch if anyone knows?!

wtf?

K. Got my earing.. got the unfinished soul stone.. went to oven.. combined.. would not allow the combine. Now what?
RE: wtf?
# Apr 13 2004 at 7:48 AM Rating: Decent
Its not the earring but the brooch that you got from your master when you first created your character. That is what needs to be combined in an oven with the unfinished soulstone. I used the oven in the bakery in Gukta and it worked.
Where are the newbie quests detailed?
# Nov 23 2003 at 12:11 AM Rating: Decent
I have been running around all over doing these newbie things and right now, I'm stuck. I've gotten this request:

Zok Gribbl says 'I was wondering if you were ever going to show up, it's about time. I am Gribbl, one of the resident blacksmiths here in Gukta. Blacksmithing is one of the more challenging, but ultimately rewarding professions one can choose. I'm always looking for new ways to cure and accentuate my armor, and I have recently found that certain fungus remains can add a great deal to the way a piece of armor looks. That is to be your training from me: to seek out and retrieve some fungus remains and return them to me so that I can further my processes. Hurry along, this is most crucial.'

Now, I have tried:

*liquid fungus
*a spore mushroom
*black fungus (paraphrase)
*ball of (something) fungus
*fungus spores
and about 6 other things all throughout Gukta that I've bought and gone back with. NOTHING IS WORKING. If I knew where the Newbie quest was on this site was, I'd post there, but it's not.

I find it astounding that none of this 'newbie' quest stuff is listed anywhere. I've done about an hour of searching and I can't find squat on the net about how this goes... I mean, what so I get for all of this running around? I've heard people mention I'll have to kill some troll later, but again, the rundown is not detailed anywhere.

Anyway, sorry to unload, it's just frustrating.

Thanks and I hope someone can help!

Alrighty,

Try something called 'Fungus Remains', that should be the ticket. I believe they drop of fungus man trackers and watchers.

Also, as for the newbie brooch quest.
Once you reach the point where it asks for the troll head. You've gotta venture out into Innothule and kill either a Troll Invader, Raider, or Scout and the MAY drop a Head. Take that back to a Seargent in gukta and i believe you can do the Guktan Initiats Soulstone quest after that.

What Else?
# Nov 09 2003 at 3:49 PM Rating: Decent
Okay, I have my Brouche, I have my Armor, and I have my Blade. What is all this about a Troll Raider, and what do i have to do to complete that quest so that i can GET my soulstone?

I did this quest in 3 hours and his info(Indianapolis) is on the dot. I had to sit behind the tent in Sro for 2 hours while i watch Lord of the Rings. lol. It spawned a small brown bag. All items look like a small **** brown bag. I handed the 3 itmes to the seeker and he told me to combined the Soul Stone with the Initiates Brooch in the oven (where they sell the Wizards spells.)It works on Cazic-Thule server.

You must have also completed the quest that results in an initiate earing. Part of this quest involves a Troll Raider's head and a Traitor's Tongue.

Just a potential heads-up... this may not be a no-fail combine (or then again, it might, who knows!)

In any case, when I did my combine in the oven, I did get a skill up to Baking (11) and no trivial message.

I might be insanely lucky, I might just be paranoid... the world may never know!

I'm pretty sure that it is unfailable. I have done it on 3 of my Frogloks now. But I never gained anything in Baking.

I think the Gukta quest combines are no-fail but raise your skill anyway. I remember back when i was doing shin initiate armor smithing skill went from 0 to 5 with no fails.

The High Seer Flogk implies that once its created, the soulstone will be used to track your progress. (Again?)

Has anyone tried returning the completed Soulstone to the High Seer to see if the quest continues on from here?

I'm sure I'll get around to trying it eventually, but for now I need the stone and don't want to risk it. Any info is appreciated.

DO NOT GIVE THE SOULSTONE BACK TO HIGH SEER FLOGK!

Sorry. Caps off now. Just needed to get that out there.

Waited for how long for the Soulstone quest to work? Two months? Camped the Innothule spawn, FINALLY got it, turned in the parts and got my Soulstone! Woot!

Went back to the wise ol' High Seer and tried to extract a further quest. Nothing. Passed him my Soulstone. Nothing. And I mean NOTHING. Didn't return it, didn't thank me, didn't even blush from stealing it. Had my Soulstone for a good 4 minutes then lost it already!

Oh well. Went back the next day and all three drops were spawned.

/petitioned and /bugged but didn't really expect an answer anyway...

I think that it might mean that they can keep track of what you are doing. I think there will be more quests put into the game soon. Or maybe you just have to give it to him. I'll try it next time i'm on

I've got all the newbie armor.
I've got the mallet.

I've got the 3 no drop items.
The guy tells me to come back when I'm more experienced????

Have you done the newbie quests that start with the note hand in? In these quests you go around hailing a series of people and they send you to innothule to get stuff for them. All the chars I've done it for have had a different series of tasks and you don't hand in the items you hail them. It will eventually lead to you killing a troll invader and a froglok traitor.

No way!!! I have several level 3 chars that have completed the quest. What you do need, is to have completed the quest that results in your class earing. The one that involves Troll heads and Traitor's tongue

Who the heck is the traitor. I have no freakin idea where to look. At first I thought it was 'a Guktan Scout' but after killing him three times without it dropping I figured it couldn't be.

All the info for the soulstone
# May 21 2003 at 4:23 AM Rating: Excellent
The polished Waterstone is found in Upper Guk loc: 247 2 It's close to the entrance, when you see a bunch of wooden planks that almost make a complete circle, dive in the middle and it is there.

The Sparkling Dust is found in Southern Ro loc: 1298 1403 If you have Loy you can see the vendor Rathaman on the map, go to him...behind his tent, sit and wait. On the edge of the rocks. If you don't have Loy it's North West corner of the zone coming from the Swamp.

The Swampwater is found in the Innoth Swamp loc: -94 -242 it's on land near a really skinny tree.

All three of these items are NO DROP and all of them spawn around 3.5 hours...take my word on that I had to wait that long for at least two of them...All of them are little tiny bags, pouches, and when clicked on turn into the item.

Where do you find the Polished water stone in gukta? or upper guk?
I found the vial of swampwater today
# May 14 2003 at 7:47 PM Rating: Decent
The vial of swampwater looks like a bag on the ground. When you pick it up on your cursor it turns into a purple bottle that looks like a poison bottle. I found mine at -96, -258, -24

Good hunting all
clarification please

I've looked inside guk for the polished waterston and at neg 94, neg 242 for the vial of swamp water and neither location had anything there... are these items on a timer, that they do not always spawn there or what? could the locations be different on different servers? any info would help from some one who has picked up these items..
thanks in advance,

Real Locations on Kane Bale
# May 09 2003 at 9:16 PM Rating: Decent
so ok I have obtained all the items for this quest. The Sparkling Dust can be found at loc..POS 1298, POS 1403. That is behind Rathmana Allin tent in South Ro. The vial of Swampwater is at loc... Loc -94 -242 and looks like abottle of poison (purple bottle). And lastly the Polished Waterstone can be found in Guk. Just go to the first plank and dive into the center of the cresent. It will be at the bottom. This was really easy for a item with its stats. So do not go to any of the locations that say 0,0 they are incorrect.

Ok what does it look like when it's on the ground? Is it a bag or a vial? There is a smaller tree right at that spot right?
RE: Swampwater vial
# Apr 25 2003 at 1:11 AM Rating: Decent
Can confirm that this now working on Morrel-Thule today. At roughly the co-ords given by Olred and right by the small tree mentioned by menace. The drop looks like a bag untill picked up. It then appears as per Pygar. I heard a guy mention he had found it and questioned him. He didn't know the quest and so didn't pay attention to place or time picked up. I went to the above and sat there for 2 1/2 hrs so the 3.5hr spawn time mentioned by Kelltress my well be correct. Also as mentioned by Olred the bag at 0,0 is now gone from M-T as well.

I found it on Vallon ZEk at neg 92, neg 242. I is on land near a small tree and looks like a small bag.
