You say, 'Hail, Dar Master Griblok.'
Dar Master Griblok says 'Welcome back, young Dar. I hope your training is going well. Unfortunately, I have been unable to keep up to date on your progress, but should you need advanced training in any individual skills, I am here to help you with that. Also, though you've chosen a life of adventure, remember that you may still be called upon to defend your homeland. To do this, you must be well prepared for war. Let me tell you what little I know of this land and aid you in your [first steps].' What first steps? Dar Master Griblok says 'The city is a place of sanctuary for all Frogloks. We count many friends among the good races of the land, but we have few true allies yet. We are bordered by the evil Feerrott to the south and the desolate Southern Desert of Ro to the north. Even Guk, the city-dungeon whose entrance you will see as you wander the swamp, has its darker aspects. We will need to build our might if we are to survive. Are you by chance a [new warrior]? I am a new warrior. Dar Master Griblok says 'Ah, good. The Army and its reserve are always in need of fresh courage. Every new warrior must attempt the training I personally oversee. I say attempt because these exercises will test you to the very limit. Now, if you have enough of the courage we seek, we [may begin]. You may begin Dar Master Griblok says 'Good. Take this Field Armorer Kit. It will allow you to use the [looted valuables] and even bodies of your enemies to form basic armor materials. These basic materials will prove quite valuable. When placed into a forge along with the proper mold, it will allow you to craft your own Armor of the Dar Initiate. You receive Field Armorer's Kit What looted valuables? Dar Master Griblok says 'As I said, spoils of war and bodies will provide the supplies you need. Innothule Swamp, the murky land just beyond the city gates, holds some of the items you seek. You may also have to talk to local merchants to locate the odd piece. When you are ready to attempt these quests, you need only tell me what you [want] and I will provide further instruction. I can teach you the recipes and give you the armor molds for the Armor of the Dar Initiate [Helm], [Breastplate], [Armplates], [Bracer], [Gauntlets], [Leggings], and [Boots]. I want Breastplate You receive a Breastplate mold. Dar Master Griblok says 'The final shield. Yes. But its construction will not be easy. Go and seek some Pristine Moccasin Scales, Burly Kobold Ears, a Pristine Alligator Hide and some Moccasin Poison. Combine these ingredients in your kit. When you have the proper basic material in hand, take it to a forge along with this mold to finish your Breastplate of the Dar Initiate. I still get the Troll Warrior version but the Troll SK newbie armor quest giver no longer responds. Some work some don't.

What server are you playing on? If it's a TLP server, make sure your server has unlocked PoP and LoY and make sure you are a froglok and at least anywhere from level 5 to 10. I don't think he will give you the quest if you are above level 10.

He didn't respond to me on Antonius Bayle. I hailed him and he didn't give me the first steps dialogue. I tried telling him I am a new warrior, but he didn't respond or give me the kit for crafting the armor. I was over level 10, though. I never had that problem before when the newbie quests were first put in. I was always able to get them. When did they level restrict them? I'll try rolling a new character to test it.

Been after the poison for about 4 lvls now.
Killed about 100 giant Moccs and maybe 6-8 Sethena and zip.
IMO the rarity of drops for this Newbie armor is just over the top.
My main char epic took less time to get than this.
Verant suck.

These new quests are tricky cuz there's so little definitive info on them, but here's how this worked for me:
Use a Pristine BULL Alligator Hide off of Bull Alligators -- mine was found near the hand but there's lots in the north part of the zone.
Pristine Moccasin Scales -- I got one off of a Giant Moccasin near the So Ro zone and another off of Sethena. It turns out you only need one. Sethena is found most often by a tree near the Upper Guk zone entrance but can also be seen across the stream on the little island there, or elsewhere nearby. She rarely drops the scales.
Moccasin Poison -- this was actually the hardest thing for me to get. It finally dropped off of a G. Moccasin near the So Ro zone but I had to kill dozens before I saw it.
Burly Kobold Ear -- the easiest thing to get.
You need one of each item to get the material. The breastplate is extremely cool newbie armor IMO.

I got the pristine bull alligator hide and it doesn't work on the combine for the BP.I get the "It won't combine message"..Everything else is correct (scales, ears, poison). So where do you find the pristine alligator hides? i've killed a huge amount of green alligators and haven't seen any pristine hides drop yet. Any ideas?

Check how many of each item you are trying to turn in. The guy's spiel led me to believe I needed two of the scales, or possibly two of the ears even. It turns out you only need one of each item.

I completed this quest today and used the pristine bull alligator hide, so it does work and master griblok's message about the pristine alligator hide is probably a typo

Anyone know where pristine mocassin scales drop? been killing snakes all over and not one drop.

Got this tonight and the one of the 4 items listed by the Dar is wrong. You use a Pristine BULL Alligator hide instead of just a Pristine Alligator hide.
