You say, 'Hail, Kor Master Gloorg'

Kor Master Gloorg says 'Welcome back, young Kor. I hope your training is going well. Unfortunately I have been unable to keep up to date on your progress, but should you need advanced training in any individual skills, I am here to help you with that. As well, I am here to guide you through your growth as a Cleric in the Guktan Army. With the skills that you learn here, you will be better prepared to serve the Army. If you do indeed plan on following the path of a [Cleric], I have some tasks that you will need to complete, if it suits your interest.'

You say, 'I am a cleric'

Kor Master Gloorg says, 'Excellent! I will give you a list of items to collect, and then combine in this magical assembly kit. This will create a material that you will use to craft a suit of armor that will protect you from the various dangers of Norrath, for years to come. If you are ready to begin your task, I will give you the assembly kit, as well as instructions for collecting the necessary items to craft your armor. Are you ready to receive your [assembly kit]?'

You say, 'I am ready to receive my assembly kit'

Kor Master Gloorg says, 'Here you are Runi, take this assembly kit, it is what you will use to combine the different items required to craft your own Kor Initiate's armor. Different items will be required to craft the different pieces of armor. These items will be available from both our outpost, as well as the training grounds near here. When you are ready to receive a recipe for a specific material, simply tell me which armor piece you [wish to craft]. I hold the recipe's for Kor Initiates [Helms], [Bracers], [Boots], [Armguards], [Legplates], [Gloves] and [Breastplates]. Keep in mind that the items required to make some of the larger pieces of armor will be a bit more difficult to get. You may want to wait until you are more experienced before attempting to obtain the components.'

You say, 'I wish to craft armplates'

Kor Master Gloorg says, 'The armguards are also handy to have. While they are a bit restricting in the movement in the arms, it is much better to have them on when you don't need them, rather then not having them on when you do need them. To create the material needed to craft your armplates, you will need to gather two moccasin eggs, one mosquito carcass, and a kobold talisman, and combine them in your assembly kit. Once you have the correct material, you will need to forge the items together, along with this mold, to craft your Armplates of the Kor Initiate.'

Can't find em anywhere!

I'm probably gonna post this all over the kor initiate quest forums.

These quests, aren't difficult they're just rediculously long.

I've hunted kobolds for god knows how long and they haven't dropped a single talisman, or more than one scalp.

Bloodneedle, while i'm convinced drops the mosquito carcass, hasn't yet but i'm sure will as soon as I kill it 50 or 60 times.

I have about a dozen 'pristine kobold paws' which are used in either the paladin, shaman, or wizard armour quests i'm sure. But i don't need them so I wish they'd stop dropping so freely.

I really hate fighting the bleeders. They're boring now, but i need 1 more caracase and 1 more bleeder wing.

For some reason these quests are nightmarish in that more than half of the ingredients take hours of farming for a otherwise worthless 'bleeder wing' or 'cracked skull'!

I have learned one thing in all the years hat I have played everquest...... first let me ask you a question...have you ever noticed that a certain Item will drop alot and you dont know what for, then all the sudden you are on a quest that needs that Item, and wouldnt you know it.... it will no longer drop from the same mobs that were dropping it before... now ask yourself why is that?
as long as you ...or noone in the zone is on any particular quest, all common items will drop regularly, but the game code knows when someone in zone and what quest they are on.. thats why you will get a drop fast but then no others will drop for what seems like ever. it is based on the same code that wont let you loot a lore Item if you already have on.... even if its in the bank.

so what you do is this..... you have to play the game smarter than the game.... use Allakhazam to look up your quests in advance... if you know you will be doing your armor quests for new toons... then look up the NPC that gives the quest.. look up the quest and see what you need... then go out , get it, and then come back and hail the NPC get your Kit, and make turn in or combine.

but after that is done.. destroy the kit given to you, you will get another one when you ready to make your next piece, and do not get any other patterns (if used) for your next piece.

I have even used this tactic in most of my new toons noobie armor quests and even the Coldain Prayer Shawl quests... and many other quests.. drop rates were much better when I wasnt "on" the quest........ try it some time.

I've gotten a moccasin egg off of a regular water moccasin. They seem pretty rare.

In the quest discription above it has you say 'I wish to craft armplates'. This didn't work for me so I typed 'I wish to craft armguards' and it worked. If you have trouble with one try the other.
kobald talisman
# Feb 26 2003 at 5:03 PM Rating: Decent
A Kobald Runt dropped the kobald talisman. Was on a small island north along the wall and one hop over to the left (west). Not too far from POP book, and before coming to Guk entrance. There were 3 runts on the island.

Moccasin eggs I found vendor diving. Haven't found the mosquito carcass yet.

The quest that involves running around the town and doing errands for various people is irrelevent to the armor quests. In fact you will need as much of the armor as you can get together to complete some of the later stages of the charm quest as it involves killing tough (to a newbie) mobs.
