Wembly the Forlorn is a rather crazy gnome (how can you tell?) who may be found at the back of the cave near the zone-in to the Plane of Storms.

You say, 'Hail, Wembly the Forlorn'

Wembly the Forlorn grumbles under his breath, 'Yes, yes, I see you there. No need for you to shout I can see you just fine! Now, what was I saying? Yes that's right... let me know when you are [done].'

    You say, 'I am done.'

Wembly the Forlorn says 'Yes done! Weren't you paying attention? Once you've gathered all the pieces of the [key] bring it to me and I'll put them back together for you.'

    You say, 'What key?'

Wembly the Forlorn says 'THE Key, you really are as thick skulled as you look. You [agree to help] me and you aren't even paying attention.'

You say, 'I agree to help.'

Wembly the Forlorn says 'You agree to help? Great! I haven't even told you what I needed yet, or why. It is very noble of you to offer me your assistance. I've been trapped here for a little too long, I washed up on the shore still [tied to the mast] of my ship. Wonder that I even survived the storm.'

You say, 'Why were you tied to the mast?'

Wembly the Forlorn says 'The Diaku Raiders, filthy sort if you ask me. I was out on a shipping run, when Diaku attacked, they pillaged all of my goods, then tied me to the mast and left me floating a sea. Then the storm came and ate my ship, and I woke up here, I swear that I saw some [Diaku] washed up on the shore with me.'

    You say, 'What Diaku?'

Wembly the Forlorn says 'The Diaku that attacked me! Pay attention for Karana's sake! You appear to be the fighting sort. You can help me kill the Diaku at their source in [Drunder].'

    You say, 'What is Drunder?'

Wembly the Forlorn says 'Drunder! The Fortress of Zek, the Zeks don't trust any one mortal to have free access to the fortress. The Diaku come and go in fours, and four parts are needed for entry. Of course they won't part with them easily. If you find four, and bring me four, I can make the four into one, and with one, you can get into Drunder without three more. Then, with your one, you can kill all of them. I would do it myself, but with my bad knee and all. . .'

  • Kill Diaku Raiders in the desert and obtain four "Quarter[s] of a Diaku Emblem" and bring them back to him.

Rock storms that roam in the western desert area are placeholders for the Diaku Raiders.

Completed Diaku Emblem has been added to your key ring.
The /key text is: With your talisman, you may enter into Drunder as you were Diaku.
Your group has had keys added to their keyrings!

Wembly the Forlorn says 'What's this? Four pieces of a Diaku Emblem? Why ever would you give these to me? Well I think I can get them to fit back together. You know, while you have this, I would be quite happy if you would avenge the loss of my dear ship and kill every Diaku you find? Yes that would be very good indeed. Here is your key, and a key for all your companions as well.'

Your faction standing with Askr the Lost has been adjusted by 5.
Your faction standing with Storm Guardians has been adjusted by 5.
    You gain party experience!!

You may now zone into Drunder, the Fortress of Zek (a.k.a. the Plane of Tactics) for experience only.

    Faction for Flag
    # Feb 08 2004 at 5:35 PM Rating: Decent
I totlay agree with the statment about the faction. Having pissed away 3 sets of the darn things make absolutly sure that eveyone in the group handing in the emblems is Aimable or better. It is just to big a pain in the butt to get the darn things.
I finaly got a full set on one toon that has the faction. Woot no more worries.

Myself and a few friends just MQ'ed the key. Everyone that has a piece to turn in must have amiable faction or above. One person in group that did not hand it was indifferent but did not matter, still got key, hope this info helps.

Could someone please give me the locations of all 4 camps in PoS? just started today and i have one of the 4 parts but not sure where to get the others.

    # Jan 15 2004 at 8:05 AM Rating: Decent
There are no "4 camps" - just keep killing Diaku Raiders in the Desert of Plane of Storms until you have all 4 emblems. Then just head back to Wembly, hand him the emblems, and your entire group gets "flagged" - it shows up on your keyring! As long as the group members can zone into PoS when you do the hand-in, they will be able to zone into BoT, no other flags are necessary.

No you will not. You got the AA and the Flag already. Save the spot for someone who dosn't have acess yet or needs / wants the AA

Can someone please solve this question once and for all? DO all group members need to have Amiable faction with this guy? or is it just the one turning in the medallion? Also will the other group members have to be with someone that has a key to get into Drunder? Or can they enter on there own once the quest is complete.. Thank you for any answers you might have.
    RE: Faction
    # Jan 08 2004 at 2:07 PM Rating: Decent
Completing this Wembly quest adds a key to your keyring. (Use the /key command to see your keys.) And to zone into Drunder, a.k.a. Plane of Tactics, you must click on the stone in Plane of Tranquility and you must have the key. So, yes, every member of the group has to have a key.

And as many others have said, only those doing the turn-in need to have amiable faction with Wembly. If you try to turn an emblem in without amiable faction, you lose your emblem and it does not contribute to completing the quest. When Wembly destroys your emblem like this he says something like "I will not help you."

One subtlety is that the people who get flagged are those that are in the group with the person who does the last turn-in. So you could have the situation where 3 of the 4 emblems are turned in by someone who either is not in the group or swaps out of the group with someone else after turning in theirs.

    # Dec 17 2003 at 10:51 PM Rating: Decent
Like a few posts before said, it's not necessary for anyone but people handing stuff to Wembly to be amiable. Tonight, 12/17/03, a necro in my group got the key at Indiff.
You do not need PoJ flag to get Tactics access
    # Dec 09 2003 at 11:41 AM Rating: Decent
I was in a group of people who had all 4 Daiku emblems for the quest. I do not have the PoJ flag, but I am lvl 65 so I was able to zone into PoS using the > lvl 55 rule.

I can confirm that it works as not only is it listed on my key ring, but I have zoned into Tactics many times now.

I also received the charm upgrade and another AA from Gram Dunnar.

Not sure if anyone mentioned previously but this can be MQ'd. Hence, if a group member has a piece already or if you need to find someone in your guild that has one to complete the set of 4, you can invite them into your group (these are NoDrop) and each can turn in their piece(s) to complete the set. One big word of caution, check your faction with Wembly before turnin. Had a guild raid where the two that looted were indifferent, they did turnin, lost the pieces, no flags and an angry mob surrounding them :)

Is there a minum level for this?
    RE: Level restricted?
    # Jan 08 2004 at 1:53 PM Rating: Decent
You have to be able to get into Plane of Storms to talk to Wembly, so that's a level 55 requirement unless the person is flagged to get in. As a rule of thumb, only a person who is level 62 or higher should loot an emblem. This is because Wembly will ignore all turn-ins from people who are not amiable to him. And the only way* to get amiable is to hunt in Halls of Honor and Bastion of Thunder and you have to be level 62 to get into those zones unless you got in via flags.

Again, if you are not amiable to Wembly and you hand him an emblem, he will say something like "I will not help you" and NOT RETURN THE EMBLEM! The emblem will be wasted!

*I don't know if faction-increasing bufs alone can change you from indifferent to amiable, so if you're going to rely on that method, test it first! Or, just get to level 62 and hunt in HoH and BoT. :)

    Pathing Fixed?

Can anyone confirm the Desert pathing has been fixed? We (me and a group of guildies) just completed this last night. There seemed to be a lot more triffic than we have seen in the past from where we pull giants from. There didn't seem to be any mobs stuck in the hole we were near. We just killed the Raider PH's in between pulls of giants and killed raiders when we saw them.

There seems to be a pocket free from roamers. Sorry I don't have a loc of the camp, but if you look at the map of the desert, it is along the large stone formation North-East of the Main Desert Giant camp at loc (-400, 2150)... Its at one of the spots where the mobs were getting stuck in the walls If you know where they were.

It seemed to me that the pathing might be fixed also. Was camping these the other day on DRo, and seems the Daiku were spawning regularly. We were lucky and already had the top left (reportedly rare?) and another piece. Seemed the drops were about 50% of the time. Only one duplicate piece in the 3 hours that it took to get the other 2 pieces needed.
Another way to get them off the cliffs
    # Nov 08 2003 at 8:57 AM Rating: Decent
If you have a druid/ranger with you then have them cast group wolf form and levitate on a tank. Might even rune them also. Have the tank run around the plateaus as high as he can and it will aggro those that are stuck (they hate wolf form!).

The tank then runs like a fool for a tunnel and by the time he reaches the other end, there's enough distance to camp out the aggro. There's a tunnel on the north end along the eastern wall that I use.

One note, they seem to get stuck in "piles" on the top of the plateaus. Once you do this a few times, you'll know exactly where to run and get them off the cliffs.

    another way to pull
    # Sep 01 2003 at 6:06 AM Rating: Decent
Another way to pull them out of the walls is to get either a monk, necro....really anyone who can FD and have them do it as close to the wall as possible. Then have a druid, preferably one with Exodus, target the FD player and then cast Bonds of Tunare of really any AoE spell but at least with bonds 4 of them will be snared when they come after you. Whoever pulls better have Eagle on, and any kind of extended range item can only help....have the druid drag them across the zone and then exodus or gate out and the rest of the group start single pulling the rocks parking them across the zone with Savage root. One thing to note is that the rocks cast a nast DD spell that can kill you quick if you're not carefull. Good luck with the bug....you'd think with all the money they spend on Expansions they could allocate a few toward the upkeep of the zones we all pay to play in.....but thats just my opinion.
oh and one final thing about the bug....we petitioned it the first day we went there and when the GM came and tried to duplicate what we had done to free up the stuck mobs.....she pulled like 50 at once and hit the ground faster than a $2.00 hooker....hehe. Now thats entertainment!
    Completed the quest today!
    # Aug 30 2003 at 3:27 PM Rating: Excellent
I completed the quest today with a group. We hunted the desert for about 4 nights with around 3 hours per night, totalling 12 hours for this quest. Please note that we had the last two emblems drop within 10 minutes of each other so YMMV.

The emblem is put together by four parts, each part is dropped by a different diaku raider. Correspondingly, there are 4 diaku raiders: a warrior, a rogue, a shaman and a shadow knight. The first three wear chain armor while the sk always wears plate. The drops break down like this:

    top left = sk
    top right = warrior
    bottom left = shaman
    bottom right = rogue

I believe the 4 classes are all equally rare. The drop rate is around 1 in 3 to 4 kills.

There are 4 places the diaku raiders can spawn. All 4 spots are within viewing distance at maximum clip plane if you set up camp north of the desert giant encampment.

After spawning, the diaku will either start to wander off or wait around a while and then wander off.

The place holders for the diaku are all flying rock type mobs (rock storm, whirling rock storm, violent sand storm, etc) as well as the yellow scorpions. The black scorpions are rarer, so I couldn't say for sure that they are a placeholder.

There is a bug in this zone at the moment that will get all wandering mobs stuck in the large cliff formations in the center of the desert. They seem to path over the cliffs and then get stuck in the "crease" between two adjoining cliffs.

Once the placeholders of the 4 diaku spawn points are stuck in the cliff (diaku can get stuck in there too btw) you are basically not going to get a new spawn, either placeholder or diaku.

There are various ways to get the mobs unstuck. One was to aggro a cactus or some other non-giant mob and kite it very close to the rock formations. Since the scorpions and rock storms will assist them that might get them unstuck.

The other way is by using a bard. Track your way to a mob that is stuck in the cliff. Climb up the cliff partways using levi, then fire off any detrimental AE song. This of course aggros all the stuck mobs onto you. I died several times getting 10 mobs at once unstuck from the cliff.

Once you have them unstuck, they will continue to path around the zone (the desert part) on a sort of racetrack pattern until they get back to where they were stuck (note: there are several "spots" where mobs get stuck).

Once you get the cycle going you can easily pull and kill all mobs/placeholders/diaku from your camp north of the giant fort.

This took us about two nights to figure out. From the third night on we had pretty steady kills of the diaku and the placeholders, leading eventually to all four emblembs.

Another observation: Once a diaku spawns, there is a high chance of at least a second one spawning either right away or within the minute.

    Bring a tracker!
    RE: Completed the quest today!
    # Dec 16 2003 at 5:25 AM Rating: Decent
    Excellent post!

As of 12/16/03, the pathing was not fixed on Stormhammer. All the placeholders were in one spot in the middle of the desert. I AE'd them and hit at least 29 mobs.

A GM came to assist. He thought the pathing issue had been fixed already. (He ended up repopping the zone for us). Hopefully this will be fixed in the 12/18/03 patch.

There were 4-5 Daiku Raiders up upon zone respawn.
    Top Left is rare piece
    # Aug 28 2003 at 3:24 PM Rating: Decent
We've spent the past few nights collecting these. We're trying to get several people in our guild flagged. Primary looter attepts to loot, if duplicate lore, then secondary looter attempts. If duplicate lore again, then teriary looter attempts, and so on. We've had six people looting so far. Two have gotten a full set, the other four have gotten 3 of them. They're all missing Top Left. From our observations, the Top Left does drop off the Shadow Knight ones. The Shadow Knight ones seemed to spawn as often as the others (Rogue, Shaman, Warrior), but just don't seem to drop an emblem as often.

We'd gone in thinking the storms were the PHs for Diaku and killed any storms just about as soon as they spawned (three rangers constantly checking track). After a while, we just started killing any of the wanderers (cactii, scorpians, snakes, etc) to prevent adds during the pulls. It seemed as though this increased the spawn rate for the Diaku (not scientific, just anecdotal).

Also, there seems to be a pathing bug that gets lots of the wanderes stuck in the cliff edges. To get them out, we'd run a bard around the perimeter of the mesa things singing an AoE song.
    faction for char flag

    Hiya ..

first of all EVERYONE in the group needs to have the right faction. secondly, only the person who turns in the last piece wil get the Completed Diaku Emblem, tho you all will get the flag.

For faction you need to be high indiff .. you can check it by hailing wembly and saying "what drunder" if he DOSN'T respond :

"Wembly the Forlorn says 'Drunder! I would do it myself, but with my bad knee and all. . .'"

your faction is too low !!!

Go kill giants in PoS or BoT until he responds correctly

    hope this helps

We did this turn in tonight, I did not check my faction beforehand, and did not think it was going to matter.........well it did. Askr faction doesn't make much sense to me, it's pretty useless. After all, if I handed you a giant head wouldn't that tell you that I didn't really like those guys?

On a side note, it WAS an MQ, but GM's couldn't give the secod person their piece back. That struck me as ridiculous too, ad the GM said "EQ does not support MQ-ing".....fine, but I had thought that EQ was moving from soloing to more grouping? So why wouldn't it support a group of toons of the same level or close to come together and pool their resources in order to get something or solve a problem? Seems kinda ridiculous to me......Well I guess we're going to have to go back out and get that last piece. I guess I'll loot it this time so that we don't have to MQ it I wouldn't want to do soemthing that this game obviously says it supports but doesn't........my 2 cents

Only the person (or people) doing the turn-in need to have Amiable faction for the whole group to recieve the flag. If you do not have the required faction, he will steal any Talisman chunks you attempt to give him. If you're unsure about whether or not your faction is good enough, hail him. If it is not good enough, he won't respond. If it is, he will.

Having done this quest twice now in aiding guild mates, I've found a pattern to which Diaku drop which quarters (thank you trusty Silvery Mask):

Top Left Quarter: Always came from the plate wearing Shadow Knight Diaku's.

Bottom Left Quarter: Always came from the chain wearing Shaman Diaku's.

Top Right/Bottom Right Quarters: Always came from the non-casting, chain wearing Diaku's.

Also of note, Diaku Raiders don't always drop quarters when killed. I hope this helps somewhat.

We spent like all day here, killed atond of them, could not get warrior talisman, top right I think. Probly killed 10 warriors and they were slow to spawn. Rogue was also slow to spawn but both rogues we did had them. Got lots of shammy ones. Seems the spawns were static random. We kept killing same spawns and they were poping raiders 2 out of 3 pops. Had about 7 spawns found mostly in northwest corner near the pillars and one in southwest corner. Sure would love a MQ on this if anyone on Rodcet has this page and don't need etc. Adds were pretty wild too even for our necro puller.
