At the close of the Ivy Etched Leggings quest:

Leaf Falldim says 'Wonderful!! I see he did find it. How lucky we are that he did all the hard work. My thanks to you are embodied in these ivy etched leggings. Now you may [earn the ivy etched boots] to go along with them.'

You say, 'I want to earn the ivy etched boots.'

Leaf Falldim says 'If you wish the ivy etched boots, you shall do me a favor. I am testing new arrow tips and wish a few of the hardest minerals I know of. From the mines of the Temple of Solusek Ro, ronium. From the land of Mistmoore, fetch me Mistmoore granite. Return these to me along with a guild offering of 2000 gold pieces.'

Upon giving the Bar of Ronium, Mistmoore Granite, and 2000 gold pieces to Leaf:

Leaf Falldim says 'I asked for a guild donation of 2000 gold coins, Mistmoore granite and a bar of ronium.'
Leaf Falldim says 'I asked for a guild donation of 2000 gold coins, Mistmoore granite and a bar of ronium.'
Leaf Falldim says 'You have succeeded!! I believe I owe you the ivy etched boots.'

I would imagine you would be able to do the quest. My wizard has done a bunch of the various class quests for my alts and such.
Ronium

Where can I find out how to get/make ronium? Someone here said to check out Kiticore Forest quests, but it is not listed there.

Ronium requires the following Melatite, Two Bars of Enchanted Plat (as always place seperatly in the cauldron), Mistmoore Granite, Sands of Ro and Soil of Underfoot. Good luck
SHUT UP REGARDING COURTESY!!!

Personally, I am tired of seeing your STUPID "Courtesy" post in every freaking forum... It does not need to be posted everywhere, much less in every forum. Get over it and MOVE ON!

#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 12 2000 at 3:27 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think I can speak for everyone on this topic. Please people when you know that someone has been camping for a long time, don't pester them about when they are going to leave. Don't sit down next to them to "wait" until they are done. You might be waiting a long time and then the time it takes for you to complete your camp on top of that. The NPC will always respawn and will always be there. Just ask them kindly if they will send you a tell when they are done and 9 times out of 10 they will. These players are tired from camping that long of a period and quite understandably a little grouchy and become extremely nervous at the thought of someone possibly stealing their kill. So, be courteous.

#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 26 2000 at 11:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am a ranger and am doing this quest. IMHO this quest is way too long and involving for an item such as these boots. Since i cannot leave something that i have started, i am left to finish this quest. No wonder these boots are rare. No one wants to do the quest!
this is a losing quest
# Sep 17 2000 at 12:23 PM Rating: Default
At 40 you can go to places (in Kunark especially) where the drops are better than these boots. Plus you get experience and have fun in the bargain. IMO the quest should be made easier or the boots made better.
Buy the Ronium
# Sep 10 2000 at 11:09 AM Rating: Default
With all the high level paladins runnig around, just buy the stinkin ronium off someone. It's really not the expensive anymore, maybe 400p a bar. You can easily reduce this if you can offer up a few of the components. And getting the MM Granite is a breeze for any ranger level 30+, in a decent group.

I am a bit unclear on exactly what Ronium is and how you get it. Would someone mind explaining this quest a little better?

If you look under Kithicor Forest Quest, it will have what all you need to
do to get the Ronium.(It's pretty long) One thing that might not be obvious
it you need to make sure you have 2 pieces of MM Granite, 1 for the Ronium
and 1 to turn in with the Ronium and 2000 gp.
MM Granite
# Aug 05 2000 at 11:40 AM Rating: Good
Managed to pull out 4 pieces of Granite last weekend and make 2 sets of boots, one for me, one for a guildmate who ruined his faction with the Dwarves.

We were there for 4 hours and got a total of 6 pieces, 2 for a Paladin, 4 for me. We pulled a 2 spawn of Leering and Jeering Gargoyles as well as a Flouting further down. They all dropped pieces, although, not every time. It was a simple fight, 2 Rangers, 1 Paladin, 1 Druid and 1 Wizard, only time we got into trouble was when Lasna Cheroon decided to accompany our Gargs, but I'm now wearing her nice earring so it wasn't that bad. Noone died and our lowest level (The Wizard) was 35, highest, 42. Happy hunting and good luck on this quest!
Ro Faction
# Jul 15 2000 at 8:48 AM Rating: Decent
Actually the easiest way to increase your Ro faction is to do the flower quest in Mistmoore. It's fast, cheap, and gives you something to do while camping the Graveyard.
Mistmoore Granite
# Jul 10 2000 at 5:49 PM Rating: Decent
I've never seen granite on Sneering or Grinning Gargoyles. The one piece I've been able to come up with, to the envy of my Paladin buddy Kalagadin, was off a Jeering Gargoyle. I've been told that Leering and Flouting Gargoyles can also drop Mistmoore granite.

I have only ever seen or heard of them dropping from Leering and Jeering gargs, none of the others.
Faction can take some time
# Jul 05 2000 at 1:37 PM Rating: Good
Takes much longer than 6 hours in my opinion. Getting the components takes a while, but maybe 6 hours is accurate. However, getting the necessary faction to make ronium can take forever. Several ways to do this, but by far the easiest is giving 30 gold to an NPC in South Ro who is in a tent by Ortallius the orc. Every time you give him 30 gold you will get a faction hit. I spent about 150pp on him, plus killing about 50 shadowed men (before i discovered this other easier way), plus doing the flower quest in Mistmoore about 15 times, plus giving 8 dervish rings to Ortallius. The boots are certainly worth it though :)
RE: Faction can take some time
# Nov 26 2000 at 8:58 AM Rating: Default
Isn't this the truth, I spent 2 - 3 hours last night killing shadowmen in Lavastorm, faction is still indifferent. So I'm going to try the Dervish Ring quest for a few hours, if that doesn't work I'm getting 1500 GP and headed back to that guy... Least we can't complain that they make it easy for everyone to get. Now in a few lvls it'll be the Plane of Sky Quests, yay...
Costs
# Jul 02 2000 at 4:50 AM Rating: Default
If Im not mistaken this is the single
most expensive piece of class quest
armor in the game even the warrior
breastplate is cheaper.

# Sep 17 2000 at 2:13 AM Rating: Default
LOL guys.....these boots suck. I will forgo all of the expence it takes to get these boots and pick up that 3 ac that I lose by keeping my DWB elsewhere.

Ronium
# Jun 30 2000 at 5:16 PM Rating: Default
Not sure why they need ronium for a ranger quest. I just bought the fairy dust off a Paladin. I did not want to have to kill the poor little fairies. Pretty nice boots though a little expensive.
