You say, 'Hail, Trep Thilcan'

Trep Thilcan says 'Hi! You wouldn't be able to do a favor for a poor gnome would you?'

You say, 'I will do you a favor.'

Trep Thilcan says 'Well I am trying to setup a shop here, it is such a choice location! I am afraid if I leave though that nasty Halfling over there may steal my spot! She has been watching me keenly all day. I know she is just waiting for me to walk away. If you would go purchase some supplies for me from various locations around the world I would be able to reward you for your time spent. If you are ready to begin?'

You say, 'I am ready to begin.'

Trep Thilcan says 'Great! Here is a special crate. It needs to be filled with:

A purification tablet from Freeport
A keg of beer from Qeynos
A ball of twine from Shadeweaver
A bundle of weapons from Firiona
An armor assortment from Thurgadin
And a case of meat from the Bazaar

That should give me quite a stock of items to sell to travelers out here.'

Purification Tablet: Krystin Charcoal (good) in West Freeport or Toxdil (evil) in East Freeport.

Keg of Beer: Crow or Tanlyn Galliway in North Qeynos (good) or Darien Felton in Neriak (evil).

Large Ball of Twine: Saren Kaja in Shadeweaver's Thicket or Fugla in the Feerrott.

Bundle of Weapons: Dom Pathfinder in Firiona Vie at +465, -3350 (good) OR Ootok in Grobb (evil).

Armor Assortment: Terman Underbelly in Thurgadin

Case of Meat: Gaelsori Heriseron in The Bazaar or Gellanna Zon in The Barter Hall.

Trep Thilcan says 'Fantastic! You got me everything I need to set up shop. Here is some money for your troubles. I hoped you learned something as well. I am sorry I have nothing more to give you except this advice, if you combine:

A clockwork carapace
A metal rod
Gnomish bolts
Firewater
And Grease

..in a Toolbox you should get something nice!'

You gain experience!!
You receive 60 platinum from Trep Thilcan.

(The recipe he gives you is for a Wok).

Dom Pathfinder has escaped his captivity and returned to his cohorts in Firiona Vie. He is in the old Drolvarg Fort at loc P465 N3352 P160 and has the Bundle of Weapons in his inventory.

I just did this with my druid and a warrior (both good races). Dom is not with the characters that re-located to the east side of Firona Vie, and does not track anywhere in the zone. So--I took the warrior and went to Grobb and changed us both to wolf-form and we were able to enter the city unmolested, and were able to purchase the weapons. Hope this helps.
Dom gone
# Sep 26 2005 at 8:29 PM Rating: Decent
Unless he is a random spawn he is no where in the zone.
If you want to do this quest you either have to bug report it or have an evil or make an evil character and buy the bundle, then transfer through shared bank.

All the people that were in FV before the war are now in this place on the east side of the zone. I know I have found other quest mobs there; maybe you should go check it out.
Bundle of Weapons
# Mar 17 2005 at 3:28 PM Rating: Decent
I looked on every merchant at the FV outpost, can't find bundle of weapons. Until someone can find somewhere else to get them (besides evil because I'm a good character) this quest is considered a evil quest.
Firiona Vie
# Feb 25 2005 at 3:17 PM Rating: Default
Firiona Vie is all messed up now. I thought it was evil so I created a DE on Vazaelle server to explore it. There's Evil AND Good there. Extremely dangerous for anyone. I guess it's sole purpose now is for Raids. Anyone know if the (Good) version for the Bundle of Weapons has been relocated? On Bristlebane server I have all Good characters(I never play Evil),so this needs to be relocated for me to complete the quest.
Oh,and BTW my DE did find out all the small buildings there are empty now and cliff golems are all over the city as are Dragoons(evil) and Scouts(Good).

FV Changed

FV has changed, all the NPC have changed as a result of the expansion coming out soon. Anyone know if they moved the merchant or the item to another zone?

Thanks
Inconvienient if you ask me

I think it rather funny that the "Good NPC" in Qeynos is acctually leaning toward the evil side as well so for average "good" people this quest is not doable until a fairly high level
???

not sure if this would work but instead of doing all those runs back and forth could you not just buy a bunch of his junk and turn em in over and over again ?

Timed Two Runs on this
# May 23 2004 at 2:32 AM Rating: Decent
Hardest part was the original bind in FV but after that I did one run (3:09-3:22) in 13 minutes and another run (3:23-3:32) in 9 minutes. This is with a 51 Wizard (SoWed of course). Spent approximately 29 plat total each attempt.
A Wok?
# Dec 10 2003 at 8:38 PM Rating: Decent
Looked up the ingredients to see what he gives you the recipe for, it's a wok - trivial 250 in Tinkering. Rather interesting if you're not a gnome.

For the heck of it I decided to see just how quickly I could do this quest with my 53 Wizard. He has Innate Run Speed 3, as well as the various Wizzy gate spells. To speed things up, I went to Firiona Vie and bound myself right next to Dom Pathfinder. Here are my steps:

1)Do the dialogue with Trep.
2)Gate to FV and purchase.
3)Nexus Gate and zone into Bazaar and purchase.
4)PoK Gate and use Great Divide stone.
5)Zone into Thurgadin and purchase.
6)PoK Gate and use Shar Vahl stone.
7)Purchase in Shadeweaver's and use PoK book.
8)Use Qeynos stone in PoK.
9)Purchase in Qeynos North (from Tanlyn Galliway) and use PoK book.
10)Use Freeport stone in PoK.
11)Purchase in Freeport.
12)Use PoK Gate. (Seemed quicker overall than running back to PoK book and running from Freeport stone to Trep.)
13)Combine and hand in to Trep.
With 137 CHA I was able to make 33 plat per attempt.
Best time: 18 minutes 58 seconds.
When doing multiple times you can save time by doing combine in Freeport and then buying another Purification Tablet.

I can easily do this 3 times an hour and make 100 plat. Don't know if that's a great plat rate but it's consistent and I can make 500 plat a night in an easy, yet boring, manner. The exp was neglible at best at 53.

100p an hour is not a bad catch. However, it seems to me that you should be able to do better in a LDoN group. At level 53 with 5 hours to spend, that is about 2 groups if you are lucky. I can almost pull in about 1k in 2 groups in LDoN.

Just my thoughts, hope they help :)

When I did my experiment there was no LDoN. LOL I have never made quite as much as you have in LDoN (most was 286 pp for one adventure) but it's still more than Trep's and there's EXP and entertainment to be had, too. I usually do Trep's when I'm playing EQ at work because I don't need to group and can /q in a "boss emergency" just about anywhere during the quest.
XP Nerfed?
# Sep 21 2003 at 11:44 PM Rating: Default
I remember doing this quest back when PoP came out with my druid and the xp was just unbelievably sweet. Well I did the quest again on my necro and it didnt even give 1/5 of a blue. Now in my opinion you have alot of running around to do for the plat and you dont make much to begin with because the cost of the items. If anyone knows if the xp was nerfed please let me know. Necro is lvl 35 btw.

A Trick
# Sep 01 2003 at 2:58 PM Rating: Default
One trick you can do with these quests that ask you to combine the results in the container: Get the container, then get all the ingredients, and hit combine. You now have a sealed container, and you can buy all the ingredients again. Since you should be at one of the shopkeepers already, just start there and work backwards. When you get back to the quest giver, hand in the box, ask for another box, put the second set in it, hit combine, and hand that one to him as well.
RE: A Trick
# Jun 28 2004 at 12:38 PM Rating: Decent
Thanks!

The items are lore and this trick makes this quest a little less time consuming. Seeing as it is pretty good for leveling alts past 35, shorter time is good.

I'm gonna go crazy if I read another post about how you could get 1.5 blue with 1 quest. You all should be happy you knew about it and got to do it in the first place! Anyways I was wondering if there were other quests out there like this one that can get someone some decent xp in their high 30's low 40's.
Thanks for your help,

...for an "evil" character to get the weapons bundle? Did Ootok make the move to Neriak, or would I have to get a friend with Invis?

this is a nice little quest for some easy money, especially if you're a druid. but, it's just as easy for anyone who has PoK and sow. it really doesn't take up too much time and, with good charisma, it costs less than 27pp to buy everything. since they nerfed it, you don't get as much experience, but it's still pretty fun. i'm not sure i'll do it again, though. fyi: i made 33pp in 30 mins with 183 charisma.

It isn't a faction issue. When a Merchant tells you "Can't you see I am busy here?" That means some fool has attacked a merchant, either by accident or intentionally, and she has been moved off of her "Sell Spot" You need a GM to come reset her to her rightful location, or wait until they re-pop the zone(reboot, Patch).

Trep's the little gnome (no offense to all you little people Smiley: wink) sitting between a large rock and a tree on the south side of PoK. Find the Priest of Discord and Trep will be located on the other side of the wall. LOC= neg433.27 ,pos865.57, neg125.25
Good Luck!! And check to see if Saren Kaja has been reset in SWF before you do all that running around! Smiley: boozing

Well, after reading everyone's posts and finally reaching lvl 35, I thought this would be some easy pp for a porting druid! I was wrong! After porting all over, I've come up with a problem. Saren Kaja won't sell to me! I spent 4 hours killing loads of Loda Kai to raise my faction from "indifferent" with NO LUCK! any suggestions???

Nerfed?
# Jun 03 2003 at 7:24 AM Rating: Default
I did this quest about 5 times, and dinged my druid to 43. The exp was AWESOME, and the plat wasn't so bad, even after expenses. The day after I dinged (and post-patch) I did it again, and the exp dropped from almost 1.5 blue, to about 2 ticks.

I wasn't sure if it was the ding or the patch that caused the drop, so I logged my Boyfriends 42 BL, who had been getting the same exp.. and ran him through the quest again, ungrouped. He also got just about 2 ticks.

This was about 3 months ago. Haven't tried again, since then, and there has been at least one other big patch since that time, so I dont know the status atm, but just wanted to let you know this may not be as great a deal as it was in the past.

(Btw: at the same time, I was running a L54 char thru, with 100% set to AA.. was getting about 1.5 blues AA on her. Haven't tried that either)

Good Luck =)

This quest was Nerfed when Ykesha was released, as mentioned several times below. It used to give just under a blue at 48 up to a blue and a half at 35. As with many things, if it allows a player to advance without grouping and fighting for hours on end, it gets attention from the fabled nerf bat. Hopefully some of this frustration will be alleviated with the next patch on the 11th.(i.e. Boosted experience for groups, not a repair to this quest) No telling until then =)
