This is a ring event which starts in the "bubble room" of Cazic Thule.

Upon getting in aggro range (about 50') of a Thul Tae Ew High Priest:

a Thul Tae Ew High Priest says 'Fools! It isss dangerouss to interrupt the sssacrifice! Guards, assssissst me!'

Guard Khataruss attacks with eerie speed!
Guard Scithiss attacks with eerie speed!
Guard Thrasciss attacks with eerie speed!

Three guards spawn. If you pull them out of his room and kill them, they will pop again when you go back into aggro range of the High Priest.

Upon his death:

You have slain a Thul Tae Ew High Priest!
a Thul Tae Ew High Priest's corpse says 'Oh facelesss one, I have fallen! Pleasse avenge the death of your faithful ssservant!'

The High Elf laying on the ground wakes up after the priest's death:

Tahia Felwah says 'Brave adventurers, I am Tahia Felwah, and I owe you my life. I was to be a sacrifice to the faceless. Listen to my words carefully, there isn't much time now.'

The walls of the temple begin to crack as the ground beneath your feet shakes violently

Tahia Felwah says 'You have interrupted a complicated ritual and soon the rift to the Faceless will become unstable. I must collect three runes of the Faceless for my research. I have been appointed to uncover the source of these lizards' newfound power. If I fail, their kind will surely spread across the land and threaten the balance of Norrath.'

The lizards blow up:

Everyone turns into skeletons.

An unstable rift glows, and then dissipates

A piercing, disembodied scream echos from deep within the temple. Your body begins to tremble uncontrollably with fear.

An unstable rift begins to cast a spell.

This is the Avatar of Fear spawn (2.5 minutes after the priest's death). He's untargettable.

You struggle with the desire to flee in terror!

Tahia Felwah says 'Prepare youselves! You must repel the denizens of Fear itself! Good luck brave souls, I will remain here until my task is fulfilled.'

Avatar of Fear shouts 'Minions of fear hear me now! The temple of the great Cazic Thule has been defiled. I summon you to assist me in its cleansing!'

Four minutes after the priest's death and 30 sec after he spawns, the Avatar of Fear starts to do a circle around the room. This seems to be the circuit that he'll do throughout the event.

Avatar of Fear shouts, 'In the name of the faceless, I command you, the minions of fear, ARISE!

Exactly 6 minutes after the Avatar spawns, the first wave appears: ~5 spinechiller spiders.

Further waves consist of level 60 Gorgons, Shiverbacks, Spinechill Spiders, etc...

Three Avatar mobs spawn, each after a certain wave. They correspond with the Golems in Fear (Dread, Fright, Terror).

Runes drop during the event. Turning them in to Tahia Felwah gives everyone full health and mana.

The Avatar of Fear casts a dispell when you engage him.

Each of the Avatars can drop loot.

Curious how the minimum level to attempt this quest is 55 but the quest is classified as Original era? The original game had a level cap of 50 so if this quest is from that era the level should be 50, no?

I was just ******** around looking for someplace to ae for fresh meat (no drops in CT so far):

Got these off event (not listed):
Ring of Dreadful Dreams
Fright Imbued Battlestaff
Frightful Shroud
Terror Woven Wraps
Boots of Hidden Terror

And two others that are listed. Who knows what hidden gems this event holds?!

Took about 50 minutes start to finish. CT sometimes shortcuts across the room so you don't have equal time for all waves. Seemed like 6 waves each to spawn the 3 avatars, then another 6 waves to activate first, then 3 final waves, each with an avatar in it, and then final mob. Two loots per avatar.

I tried this tonight and it seemed successfuly. Once the AoF comes out, I completed 5 waves of trash mobs then Dread popped. He is untargetable. 6 waves of trash popped/died and then Fright popped. 6 more waves of trash popped/died then Terror popped. 5 more waves of trash popped then all the golems became active. All were killed:

Trinket of Ancient Fears
Frightful Shroud
Talisman of Fright
Scalecracker
Pearl of Dread

Looked like AoF despawned sometime during the fight? Never saw him as i was engaged with the mobs.

Ok so after reading this event was bugged I was still curious to give it a try. Attempted it with a 90 paladin convorteum raid geared with a cleric merc and a 90 ranger convorteum raid geared as well(I dont think this matters but some people like this information). Triggered the event killed the guards but killed the priest before the last guard died. Everything went smoothly got 3 avatars to spawn and set up in each side of the room other than the doorway. After a few waves I got the avatar who looks like a rock to activate killed him and he dropped 2 scalecrackers. Few waves later got the avatar to spawn who looks like clay to activate and killed him as well he dropped a fright imbued staff and talisman of fright. But a few waves later the iron golem avatar poofed unexpectedly. The avatar of fear continued to make his rounds and spawn waves of adds and after an hour of that I gave up. I have a feeling he would have continued this all night without activating. I made sure each wave to aggro all the mobs and kill them quickly before he made a full circle around again. Also made it a point to loot everything off the bodys and turn in the runes asap. After three rune turn ins the high elf npc despawns. Hope this helps. Event still seems bugged but I was able to at least get two avatars killed thankfully :)

This event is bugged or something right now. I just went in there solo as an 80 cleric. I killed the first wave of mobs, then the second wave (gorillas) spawned and I killed them WAY too fast, I guess. By the time he got to the third spawn he poofed as did the chick. Then nothing ever came. The end. Lame. I think it might be when you kill too fast or something. Apparently my damage shield was just too much for this event! :P

When you attack the Thul Tae Ew High Priest, 4 a Tae Ew justicar spawn.

When Thul Tae Ew High Priest is dead, you see an emote.

a Thul Tae Ew High Priest was up, so I decided to see if I could complete the Ring of Fear event he initiates. I went with my 75 ranger, 1163 aa's, about 12 k hp unbuffed, 14 k hp self buffed, epic 2.0. My level 68 necro box came along for dps if I could manage to have her engage in the fun.

a Thul Tae Ew High Priest was located underneath of the Northwest pyramid (hint: no AE spells). He did not see through invisibility. He was flagged as a raid target. There were a number of non targetable brown lizard mobs in the room, and a high elf duddete named Tahia Felwah was lying in the center of the room. I engaged the High Priest by breaking invis, and he immediately attacked. He wasn't much of a problem at first, but then before I had managed to take his HP down much, the three guards listed on the zone mob page were summoned by the HP, spawned and attacked. The three guards were all green to me at level 75, so less than level 60. I healed myself a bit, but no major problems. Someone dispelled a number of buffs, so I rebuffed. The Avatar of Fear (or whoever it was, looked like Cazic Thule) went around the room, and I was thinking, no major problems, bring it on. Then at least two, maybe three A Gorgon spawned. They immediately engaged me. I got in a total of four hits in this part of the fight. The majority of my DPS in this fight was from my Damage Shield. I immediately had a spin stun hit me, and saw my hp's going down pretty quick. I couldn't even get off a HoT Pot as I spent 98% (estimated) of the fight stunned. I tried to use my Worker's Sledgemallet to escape, but died before it proc'd. Max hit by A Gorgon was 177, and usually 77, for a total of 69 hits by these things which look like Plane of Sky harpies. But I got a spell box message of: "You are trapped within a whirling wind. You have taken 425 points of damage". I got the same message each time, for the same amount of damage at least 18 times from the spell log. I didn't see that I resisted it at all, and that is with self buffed resists of 407 to about 525 range. I looked this spell up on the Allakhazam spell section, and there are four which are similar, but none for 425 hp. All of the whirl spells with similar text are unresistable. A Gorgon summons.

After my ranger died, the necro being uber in the Luclin era, but hardly so now, quickly succumbed.

The high elf dudette said a lot of stuff, some of it about needing runes, and once she specified needing three runes. Handing her a rune heals the whole raid. Apparently she was going to be sacrificed to the faceless, and killing the High Priest interrupts the ritual, brings the Avatar of Fear through a rift of some sort. Sometime after the fight started, the high elf moved from the altar to a spot next to the door of the room.

If you are going to do this event, the Gorgon's seem to be a major headache for a solo/boxed player. The tank won't be able to do much because he is always stunned. Aggro could be lost by the tank. Good luck! I don't think I will be trying this one again solo for a while.

From the info you gave I think the spin stun spell must be Crushing Fist of the Wind. For you to be hit for 425 each time (rather than 500) you would have to have a spell shield of 15% which sounds quite plausible.

We attempted this event last night. All went basically as stated with the exception of the mob spawns... The first Golem spawned as did about 4 Shiverbacks.... We killed them with no problem.

Then at the time of the second spawn, we received 5 Terrors... and then 6 spiders, an ooze, and I'm not certain what else all in the space of 2 minutes.....

Is this generally how the spawn goes? From what I have read, I had thought that the next set spawned after the Avatar of Fear completes the circuit twice. Generally how many mobs should be expected per round I guess is the question to someone who has completed the Ring.

Also about 3 of our raid was banished from the zone..... Has anyone else had this happen? I was thinking it may have been cause by the terrors flinging them to someplace illegal as far as geometry and causing them to be removed from the zone, but that's only speculation.

If they swam up the water bubble and into land above they will get ported out by the thul tae ew warder mobs - those guys are one cool way to exit a zone if in trouble just run to them and in a few seconds you will be loading to the feerott

The ring event goes like so:

After it starts, an Avatar of Fear spawns. When he spawns, there is an AE that turns your raid into skeletons and lasts like 18 or 30 seconds. He then proceeds to walk around the outside of the green bubble, and this takes somewhere around 5-8 minutes for him to complete. After he's with his circuit, he will spawn the first wave. Another wave spawns every time he completes this circuit.

Each wave contains several mobs consisting of shiverbacks, gorgons, tentacle terrors, ect. It seems like every two waves, another golem will spawn. The golems are Avatar of Fright, Terror, and Dread. When each spawns, they do the AE spell Avatar of Fear on your raid.

After Terror spawns (the iron golem), the golems become targetable and agro your raid, one per wave. My guild took down two of the golems before we wiped due to the waves of mobs still being up when we killed the golems.

It's a good idea to have someone off-tank the golem (they don't hit that hard) while everyone else kills the wave. We believe that was our downfall tonight.

Don't forget to use the Runes of the Faceless -- it's good strategy to have your casters, ect nuke liberally because you can instantly refill their hp/mana anyway with the runes. Especially once the golems start attacking.

We tried this quest and before the second wave came we had one mob left... then the second wave came. After the second wave was cleared we noticed the Cleric and the Avatar had poofed... ending the cycles. Can the turn in cleric be killed during this by the mobs? Ofcoarse we did have one person get ported out and then run back in... that might have ended it? Any info to help would be nice.

i went on a exploration to see if i can find where this takes place in CT (guild wants to try this soon). I followed the map to the Avatar pyramid. but before i could even get into the "bubble", i ran into a couple Thule Tae Ew warders. Untargettable. they didnt seem to even notice me. i approaced them trying to target them. Poof, i was zoned to entrance of CT. hmmm..strange i thought. Went back. this time i ignored them and went down some stairs, this one noticed me right away, started casting, i FD'd. but got booted again to entrance. Huh? Is this part of event or is there a level restriction? or bugged? or something else? i went back again, but the first Thule Tae Ew's noticed me this time, started to cast on me, and bam, booted again. /shrug. im at a loss. least i didnt die on my suicide mission. heh.

I had the same thing happen while exploring on my 65 SK, so it's not a level thing, perhaps you have to be part of a raid to advance beyond this point or something, I know that RZtW will banish you if your not part of a raid so it may be the same kind of deal here, or it could be a bug, any confirmation?

When you attempt to attack the high priest the mobs in the ramp/hallway outside will aggro. You will end up killing them first.
Once you engage the high priest move all of your HEALER/CASTERS up the ramp to near the doorway. That way when the High Priest dies and the four guards explode the damage is minimal.
Final heads up, the last large Golem is a debuffer. Try to ignore all the other spawns (Amy Knights) in our try and concentrate on putting him down and using an insta-click.

We had a few people on and decided to give this a whirl..
We were able to spawn the avatar and start the first wave and had three mobs spawn in the first wave..
Two agro'd, mezzed one of them..
I noticed that one on the back side was not agroed so we left it for the time being..
After we killed the first 2 agroed mobs we noticed that it had depoped along with the avatar and Tahia..
I think all the mobs need to be at least engaged before the avatar makes a loop around..

LoL like to see you do it with one group, even one of that setting ..if so I will be your cleric! We went in last night 26 in raid format and got thru the first three wave, this was out first raid on this and avarage level was 63. Learned alot on how to do it next time! Bards and enchanters HAVE to have areas of there own to mezz.....cant have them waisting mana trying to mezz something someone else is doing! 65 tanks can eat the others up solo on solo..but if the wave ISNT destroyed before the next wave hits your in it up to your visor and sooner or later people start to drop faster then you cna rezz and rebuff..these mobs are VERY sensitive to healing spells...more so the any I have encountered in a very long time...have the cleric have there aura spells up and at the ready or they will be the fist to drop, Tanks have a very hard time Re-drawing agro after they start on a cleric....Keep away from the mob to be rescued as much at possible and make sure that everyone in raid/group knows that she is not a target! The mobs will agro her if she is near them. Good luck..anyone else got any idea's on this I will be back frequently as we are iching to do this again..great drops and an easy room to get to, if done right.

Does anyone know spawn time of high priest. My guild went to do this event but the room was empty it had already been done and I see nothing about spawn time of ring of fear. Does anyone know. This would really be helpful.

Second, these golems are total limp wrists. they hit very low, try under 400ish

The biggest deal was enchanters off tanks and dps. but to be frank, if you can keep everyone alive, just plow through them on your own time, just have plenty of enchanters if your raid is lacking on DPS.

Each wave will be shiverback, or gorgons, or spinechill spiders, or amy knights (ht 1k)

Almost all can be mezz'd use pal/sk off tanks (make sure they don't dot or dmg) until mez hits, then just plow through whatever MT is on, these don't hit harder then ponightmare stuff really, and bring a good amount of DPS with out, burn to 0m, do rune turn in (make sure all are close to fahia) only suggest burning to 00m when you have a rune, they can be slightly stingier then these posts would let you think.

giving runes to %t will give you full health and mana, BUT PETS WILL AGGRO ON HER. tis a bug, they think she's attacking you. make sure u pull pets off before they can do any damage. also she wont fight back, just spam u with "thats not a good idea jargen". she wont repop. so if she die, CONSERVE mana

I did this quest last night with my guild we set-up with 10 groups of 60+ It was easy everyone kept full Mana while Cleric Casted Ch on tanks and other Divine light....Well we finished this quest 3 times now I got my Bladed Thulian Eviscerator...My guild is looking to fight this fight again 3 down 10 to go!!
