Arrias Arcanum in the Paladin Guild of Northern Felwithe misses his son.

    You say, 'Hail, Arrias Arcanum'

Arrias Arcanum says 'I am sorry, young one, but I am too burdened by my own troubles to help you now. Please seek another of the faith to ease your soul.'

    You say, 'What troubles?'

Arrias Arcanum says 'My son Ariam, a paladin of this fair city, has been missing for many years. Now, after remaining hopeful for so long, I have given up and it has broken my heart and soul. If I could but hear news to know of his fate, then I could find comfort again. Until then, I am no good to others. I am sorry.'

Head to Befallen and kill a skeletal foreman to spawn Sir Ariam Arcanum. The foreman placeholder is a skeletal excavator, there are 4 of them in the first room.

You say, 'Who or what are you?'

Sir Ariam Arcanum says 'I am Sir Ariam Arcanum, a paladin of Tunare. There is no time for my own story, which is of little account. But if you wish to know more of me, and wish also to do me a personal favor then you could seek out my family in Felwithe, provided you are welcome there. Will you travel to Felwithe?'

You say, 'I will travel to felwithe.'

Sir Ariam Arcanum says 'Then deliver this to my family. I have my sisters token to thank for my survival in this form. Something in the magic of this persisted even as I truly wasted away buried alive near here.'

    You receive Arrialla's Expended Token.

Take the token back to Arrias to receive your reward: Arrialla's Token.

Arrias Arcanum says, 'This! This is the gift my daughter gave Ariam to aid his cause. This too is the piece of my soul that was missing. Your news of his fate is troubling, yet his heroism even beyond this life is cause for celebration. Here, keep this token. My heart is mended and I have no need of it. Once such as yourself who will continue to fight for the things in which my son believes ought to bear this. I am sure my daughter would agree.'

You spawn him (maybe also) by simply killing all 4 excavators ont he first level. 3 in the main room, one in the nook. i think they have to all be killed in a certain time amount. i pull them all to the 3 glowing skulls to "clense" befallen, and then Foreman pops, kill him. and the Ghost is NOT invis. he is a shield and sword, might be a bit hard to see right off... he looks like a chanter pet. 19 minute spawns for all befallen mobs normally yes. but he is triggered.

I've found this quest most disappointing. I have spent 20+ hours killing skeleton excavators, and the only thing that ever happens to me is that my character gets feared through the locked door, mobbed and killed. Then I need to find a high level character help me get the corpse. It's just not fun.

Whoot. Finished this quest in under 1 hour. The four excavators were all up. Killed them. Ghoul came wandering out. Rooted me, knocked me down to 20%. Naturally, being only level 12 Shammy...zoned. Sat down to med, ate some pizza (RL) and zoned back in. Foreman was standing at zone line. Don't understand why, but didn't ask. Whacked him with Tainted Breath (resisted everything for awhile), Drowsy, and a couple of Frost Rift. Dusted him. Ariam popped...accompanied by two dk blue excavators. Crept up and stood next to rock that is opposite the glowing skulls (you'll know it when you see it). Asked the question "Who or what are you?" He responded. "I will travel to Felwithe". He gave me the amulet...the rest is history. Right on, got the Token.

The ghost did not respond to me asking "What are you" but after several times saying the Felwithe line he gave me the token.

    # Feb 05 2004 at 7:45 AM Rating: Good
The Felwithe Paladin Guild NPC, Arrias Arcanum, spawns 3 hours after he last depopped. He will depop the minute someone hands in the token.

The Repop time for the Excavators in Befallen is 19 minutes, the Foreman will randomly spawn it seems on the death of the Excavators.

The Quest NPC spawns in exactly the same place as the Foreman.

Yes, Sir Arrias is a long camp. Actually, it is getting the Foreman to pop which take the time.... Seems like sometimes I have to kill the Skellys in Befallen a hundred times to get him to pop, but the other day, I happened to be passing through WC, and decided to pop in to Befallen for a quick try at the Bridle again, killed the Excavators, and POP... the Foreman. Killed him and did bridle portion with Arcanum. Then to Freeport to turn in No Rent bridle for the 1 charge one.... Will come in handy some day.
My advice is to do the same, just might get lucky.

Here is the definitive source for in game accurate everquest lore. Compiled by my friend Sir Banegrivm Shadowblight, who raised two armies and won the battle of Bloody Kithicor in Beta on two servers.

Banegrivm now works for Brad MCQuaid making the lore in EQ RPG, so it is all VERIFIED and TRUE.

Actually, Bloody Kithikor didn't haopen during Beta, and the First Fist of Light stuff is third-rate fanfiction masquerading as lore.

    Nice try, though.

I was in Befallen with my level 46 rogue practicing pick-locks (/yawn) on the first door.

I don't remember exactly what happened, but somehow my invis dropped and one of the excavators attacked me. I killed it and then the foreman imediately popped. The foreman dropped fast and then Ariam popped near his corpse.

I vaguely remembered this quest so I started telling him a bunch of random things until he mentioned Knights of Truth. I repeated "Knights of Truth" and got the bridle.

I ran to NFreeport to hand it in and test my skill on the bank door (grrr, 181 is not high enough).

Not a bad reward for someone who has to spend countless time clicking on a door to raise a stupid skill.

I've done this quest many times on the same server quite simple to do i have done both Arrialla's Tokaen and the horse quest the horse quest was done the most. The lavel cap for token is 15 horse is lvl 10. The formen spawns in the front of the main chamber in a little room. The horse is the speed of JBoots. BTW the formen is a rare spawn when i did token he poped right up but this is the order to kill the excavators: kill front right skele, then go for left front skele, go to the back of the chamber, kill the skele closer to you thats in a room then kill the other one keep doing that till he spawns and make sure you look at the messag screen the formen will give a shout to the zone. Well thats all i can tell you have a nice time doing the quest =)

I have killed the Skeletal Foreman and talked to Sir Ariam Arcanum twice. If you 'hot key' your part of the conversations and do this quest (Arrialla's Token) first you can do both it and the 'horse' quest at the same time. The first time I killed all seven skeletons in the 'main' room at least 6 times before the forman ran out of the 'skull wall' at the end of the room. I killed him, talked to Sir Ariam and got the bridle. The second time I cleared the room then while working on the 6th skeleton (the skeletal excavator at the end of the room on the left) I noticed the forman attacking me. I don't know exactly when he poped but I killed him, talked to Sir Ariam and got both the Token and the Bridle by doing this quest first.

Having done this quest 3 times, on 2 different servers, I can offer the following details. You do have to kill all 4 Skeletal Excavators to get the Skeletal Foreman to spawn. They are on a 19 minute respawn timer. Having tried, unsuccessfully, for several hours to get the Foreman to spawn, my group waited for all 4 Excavators, then drug the back 2 up to the top 2 and killed all 4 at the same time. Foreman spawned immediately. We did that twice - worked both times, but I guess it could've been a fluke. On Arrias - he disappears when someone turns in the token. We waited 2.5 RL hours and he finally respawned. I don't know if that's a "feature" or a "bug", but I submitted Feedback anyhow. I hope this helps.

    Timer
    # Feb 20 2003 at 6:18 AM Rating: Decent
Just been doing some timings on the respawn of the excavating skeletons, its exactly 19 minutes, rather a long time really.
And after wiping out all four about six or seven times now I'm still waiting for the Foreman...
    RE: Timer
    # Feb 20 2003 at 2:11 PM Rating: Good
I was with a group Monday night trying to get the foreman to spawn. We killed everything in sight for 1.5 hours. It never spawned. I'm planning on going back sometime this weekend and try again. Did you have trouble with the necro's?
    RE: Timer
    # Feb 21 2003 at 5:52 AM Rating: Decent
The whole dungeon is green to me, so I basically wipe the excavators, then sit for 19 minutes.
So far I've been doing this for at least 6-8 hours, kind of last count. Still no sign of the foreman.
I suspect either a level cap, or else something else may need to be done to trigger the spawn, possibly in addition to the excavators?
Can anyone who's got this to spawn recall having killed anything else shortly before it spawned?
    Hot Keys
    # Dec 13 2002 at 11:47 AM Rating: Good
Alright guys, I read all these messages before I went and did this quest, and the ghostly bridle so I had all my facts straight. I've found out that the ghost doesn't stick around for long, and the key phrases that you need to say, are kinda long, but if you make what you need to say into hot keys, you and get both quest items all at once. The token, the scroll, and the bridle. All I did was hail the ghost, hit Hot Key 1, wait a sec, then 2,3,4,then 5. After I'm done I just get rid of the hot keys. It's that easy folks.
