After completing quest 4, Dovan tells you about the skulls of Di Nozok. He says "bring them to me, I shall wait within Zand". Go talk to Hierophant Zand about the skulls for more information.

The first one is the Skull of Die Nozok. What you want is an Iksar Skull Helm, which identifies as "Skull of Die Nozok." It drops in the Sarnak fortress in the Lake of Ill Omen off of the Sarnak Adherant and various other sarnaks.

The second one is the Skull of Dai Nozok. You need to kill Overseer Dlubish in Nurga or Droga and get the Dai Nozok Canopic. You also need to get the two keys of Dai. The first drops as a complete Ton Warrior Totem off Froglok Ton Warriors. Froglok Ton Warriors also drop three distinct "Piece of Totem"s, each of which identifies as a different portion of the Dai key. Combine these three pieces with some mendglow clay in a pottery wheel (Trivial less than 54) to get the second Ton Warrior Totem. You then hand the totems/keys and the canopic and 400 gp to Galdon Vok Nir in the Overthere just inside the city walls to get an Iksar Skull (identifies as "Skull of Dai Nozok"). Be careful of your faction here. You may need an enchanter to help you do this part.

You say, 'What can you tell me about the skulls of Di Nozok?'
Hierophant Zand says, 'What?! I have read of them, but that is all I know of the legendary mystic, err, mystics... whatever! Where their remains rest is a mystery, but those filthy goblins always seem to get ahold of things that are lost, all that infernal digging you see.'

You say, 'I have a Dai Nozok Skull Canopic'
Galdon Vok Nir opens his eyes wide. 'Oh! You found one of my family's fine canopics. That particular one was made for the legendary mystic, Di Nozok. If you think you're going to open it, think again. I know how, and will gladly [open the Nozok canopic], for a price. I heard the second was stolen by a sarnak shaman.'

You say, 'Can you open the Nozok Canopic?'
Galdon Vok Nir says, Want it opened? I will need the two [keys of Dai], the Dai skull canopic, and my fee, 400 gold coins.'

    You say, 'sealed canopic jars?'

Galdon Vok Nir says, 'I have heard of such things. You must have stumbled upon an ancient jar devised by one of my long-dead ancestors. They were fine craftsmen. I do not share their gift, but I do know the secret of the locks. If you have one of the ancient Vok Nir canopics, allow me to open it for you.'

    You say, 'dai keys'

Galdon Vok Nir says, 'There are two keys of Dai. They were made of ceramic and were also crafted to look like warrior totems. I once broke one as a child and my grandfather got very angry. He lashed me good! I do not know what the big fuss was about; he easily put them back together using some sort of clay.'

Turn in both skulls and your Cudgel of the Prophet to Hierophant Zand and you will get the next cudgel.

Upon Hand in to Hierophant Zand:

Hierophand Zand seems to black out, and then recover. He speaks with the voice of an ancient. 'We are Dai and Die and we await our skulls and your iron cudgel of the prophet. Become a channeler.'
Hierophand Zand closes his eyes and reopens them. They have no pupils. He speaks and you hear his voice echo. 'We are Di Nozok. You have earned the weapon of a channeler. We hope to fill your thoughts with ours some day. Go and seek out Dexl. We send you to him. Farewell , Channeler of Cabilis.'

    # Mar 17 2001 at 3:57 PM Rating: Default
When I combine the froglok totem pieces and the mendglow clay do I need to use water? It took me forever to get all of those pieces I would prefer not to get it wrong....

No post I can find says to use water, but water is a basic in all pottery wheel uses... Im so conflicted!

    Solutions finally!

Zand now speaks of Goblins and mines. Go to Nurga fight an Overseer D_____ (you have to find him) and you get a Canopic of Dai Nozok (when identified it says crafted by Vok Nir. So go to Overtnere and in the Outpost there is an iksar named Galdon Vok Nir. one problem he wont talk or deal with iksar (seems he is an outcast) well if someone speaks to him that he likes you find out he can open the canopic with the 2 Dai Keys from swamp of no hope and 400gold. So now you wonder how do iksar shaman get him to do this to get the skull out. well my guess is get a really good enchanter to cast a nice charming spell on him and then do the quest. Here is to hoping. more info later im sure as people try more things.
    A key hmmm.....

Okay. Here is what I have verified. Froglok Ton Warriors spawn in Swamp of No Hope, especially near the Iksar Bandit Camp.

These Ton warriors drop four different items. One is the Ton Warrior Totem used for the Illusion: Iksar spell quest. The other three are identical-appearing LORE NoDROP items called "A piece of Totem"

Here is the interesting part. Each of the pieces identifies as "Top of Dai Key", "Middle of Dai Key" and "Bottom of Dai Key". The Ton Warrior Totem identifies as "Dai Key |-" My reproduction of the symbol is crude.

On the message board someone posted that if you combine Mendglow Clay, and the three totem pieces in a pottery wheel, you get a totem that identifies as "Dai Key -|" I have not verified this because I cannot Forage, and have had no luck buying Mendglow Clay.

Also, since I am still KOS in Cabilis, it may be quite a while before I can look at the quest in more detail. I look forward to hearing more about it though.

This is strange, but I've seen it confirmed somewhere else too:

I combined the three pieces of a totem with some mendglow clay on the pottery wheel and got a Ton Warrior Totem! I was expecting to get this key that I've heard about. The really weird thing is that I already had an intact Ton Warrior Totem. Both are Lore and appear to be identical, but obviously they're not. I'll try to have them both identified to see what's what.
    Keys are for this quest

    It's been fixed

this quest was fixed a while ago.. I'd recommend going to http://forums.eqforge.com/shaman/forumdisplay.php3?forumid=18
and check out the thread on Iksar Shaman Skull Quest No. 5

There is a lot of info there, including what some higher levels have done to try and figure out exactly where the skull of Dai Nazok is gotten. It's not a drop, there are pieces of totem off the Ton Warriors in The Swamp that ID as one of 3 pieces of a Dai key.. lots of clues for those wanting to try their shot at this mystery.

    Still Searching

The only thing that bites about this quest is having to give up your helmet at the end. While working on the Caste of Bone Bretheren quest, I camped the Sarnak Fortress with a group and picked up the skullcap that IDs as Die Nozok (I think--I haven't had it ID'd yet). What is cool about this cap is that it has a weight of 1, is AC5, and gives +3 WIS bonus. I suppose when I finish this one I'll have to go back and kill more Sarnaks to get my WIS hat back...

The two skulls needed, as Skusag mentions, are the Skull of Die Nozok and the Skull of Dai Nozok (discovered by someone who turned in the Die Nozok alone to Heirophant Zand and posted on another board). Something called the "Key of Dai Nozok" is found apparently in the froglok town in the Swamp of No Hope, so it is possible the skull may be there, too. However, the "legend" behind the quest would seem to indicate that Die Nozok and Dai Nozok were both killed by the Sarnak--this is according to someone on another board, too...

The good thing about this quest is that the Sarnak drop some decent coin and will be the first MOBs since your days fighting Manslayers in the Cleansers quest that will give you decent XP for your level.

One of the skulls needed is the Iksar Skull Helm (IDs as Skull Of Die Nozok) found on a Sarnak in Lake of Ill Omen.

The other is yet to be found...believe me I've searched every EQ resource on the web.

One person by the name of Wyld claims to have solved it, but gave no hints as to how and never spoke again on the boards.
