You say, 'Hail, a kromrif recruiter'

a kromrif recruiter says 'Greetings, little thing. You have entered into the great city of Kael Drakkel, home of the Kromzek as well as a few of my kind, the Kromrif. If you are to walk among my people as a peer you must prove yourself as a friend, not a foe.'

You say, 'I will prove myself as a friend'

a kromrif recruiter says 'Leave this place then and return when you have waged war upon the Coldain. Remove their heads from their bodies and return them to me. I will spread the word of your deeds amongst my people if you do so, Lias.'

You say, 'what about the Coldain?'

a kromrif recruiter says 'The Coldain are the ice dwarves who dwell in the city of Thurgadin. They are a blight upon the land known as Velious, speaking the word of their god, Brell.'

On handing in heads you get faction, and...

A kromrif recruiter says 'Very good, ______. Slay more of the beasts and your name will be known by all of the Kromrif!'

Note: If you are seeking to improve Kael faction then you would be well advised to switch from this quest to "Bvellous Bounty" as soon as you are Dubious to Captain Bvellous, and gain faction with King Tormax.

You can now invis yourself when turning in heads, so you don't necessarily need another.

Kromriff +35
Kromzek +8
Coldain -17
Claws of Veeshan -3

The purpose is to get one's foot in the door, making frost giants like you. However, it's more advantageous to give these to Captain Bvellos, because it gives Tormax faction and doesn't lower Coldain. A quick trip to Crystallos can reverse the Claws of Veeshan hits, rather than lowering them and Coldain with the recruiter.

IF your KoS you can still do this with a little help

1. Walk up and hand him a head (DO NOT HIT BUTTON YET)

2. once trade box is full with 1-4 heads STOP

3. Have another player or your BOT Cast invis on you (You can not cast it on yourself)

4. Hit trade and reap the faction rewards

20 MAY 2005 I was doing this

I turned in anywhere from 1 -4 heads

Enjoy and have fun

As of 10/12/04 I was able to turn in one head at a time to the recruiter for a faction hit for each head, on the E'ci server at least.
Hope this helps everyone.

Actually, you can turn in one at a time with the recruiter.

This becomes very helpful when you are first turning heads in and you are not sure about your current faction with the recruiter. Rather than turn in 4 heads and have him tell you that he does not deal with the likes of your kind, you can try just one head. If you get the nasty message then you have minimized your loses.

Later, if you have less than 4 heads and you expect to go by the recruiter, then you can still make a deposit with him and get full credit.

I believe you have to turn in four heads at a time. Could be wrong, but that's what I was told.

Hmm do you need faction to do this quest because I conned this dude and he glared at me threateningly, I heard that he won't attack even if you are kos so I handed in a head anyway and he just said "I will do nothing to aid beings like you" and gave me squat! If I do the hand in whilst invis it will work?
faction

I've been faction the whole time I've been playing in places I shouldn't have, just from using sneak, and handing items in from behind.

Took me forever to get to dubious to Kromrif killing dorfs and using this quest. I then went and did the Slaggak the Trainer quest where you give him 4 heads for armor pieces in return. Turned in 24 heads and went from Dubious to high in Indifferent.

Still KoS to the zeks though.
well

I just tried this quest whilst kos and all the dude said was "I will do nothing to aid beings like you" I tried it again whilst invis and he said the same thing. So now I'm thinking maybee it has to be more than one head? Anbybody know how many heads you need for this quest?

No, its a factions thing. You need to get your faction up a little before you can do this. If you hunt coldain for a couple of days you should be there
