You say, 'Hail, Reldin Harkolis'

Reldin Harkolis says 'Hail Wendolyn. Know that only within these few passageways and rooms whose borders are marked by the symbol of the Circle of Unseen Hands can we speak freely of our organization and its undertakings. Neither the streets of the city above nor the sewers and catacombs are free of ears that would harm the Circle of Unseen Hands should they hear of our [secrets].'

You say, 'What secrets'

Reldin Harkolis says 'The Circle has many secrets some of which only Hans may know. Our agents are all about, mingling among the common law abiding folk and working in all manner of profession. At one time we had a significant number of the Qeynos Guard allied to our organization but the loyal soldiers of Antonius Bayle IV has discovered and punished many of them. The ones that remain are hesitant at best to continue their association with us. You will need to exercise much caution within this city as you learn the ropes. I will help get you outfitted in some [gear] that you will find useful in our line of work.'

You say, 'what gear'

Reldin Harkolis says 'Take this Curing Kit. With it you can assemble an outfit of light, flexible, and sturdy yet inconspicuous leather clothing to protect you from the perils of your job. The materials required will depend on the piece of clothing you desire to craft. Do you plan on crafting Sturdy Workmans [Gloves], Sturdy Workmans [Boots], a Sturdy Workmans [Bracer], a Sturdy Workmans [Cap], Sturdy Workmans [Leggings], Sturdy Workmans [Sleeves], or a Sturdy Workmans [Tunic]? Once you are suitably outfitted return to me and I will inform you of your [next job].'

You say, 'what next job'

Reldin Harkolis says 'A message between two of our agents was recently intercepted by a Qeynos Guardsman. The message is encoded in thieves cant but should the guards eventually decode it we would expect trouble. Guard Gregor, the guard who currently is in possession of the message is out patrolling somewhere in the West Karanas. Find this guard and recover the message. Bring it back to me when you have done so.'

Upon bringing Reldin the Message in Thieves Cant:

Reldin Harkolis says 'Excellent! It is fortunate you recovered this message in time. Take this Rusty Unseen Hands Dagger to a forge and sharpen it with a sharpening stone. It may take you several attempts if you are unfamiliar with the process. Once that is accomplished bring me the sharpened dagger, a gnoll fang, and a large king snake skin and I will put the finishing touches on the weapon for you.'

Your faction standing with Circle of Unseen Hands has been adjusted by 10.
Your faction standing with Merchants of Qeynos has been adjusted by -1.
Your faction standing with Corrupt Qeynos Guards has been adjusted by 1.
Your faction standing with Guards of Qeynos has been adjusted by -1.
Your faction standing with Kane Bayle has been adjusted by 1.
You gain experience!

Combine the Rusty Unseen Hands Dagger with a Sharpening Stone in a forge (trivial 19) to make a Sharpened Unseen Hands Dagger. Bring it back to Reldin, along with 1 Gnoll Fang and 1 Large King Snake Skin.

The message in Thieves cant from Guard Gregor is only part of the weapon quest. Upon returning the message to Reldin, he says:

"Excellent! It is fortunate you recovered this message in time. Take this Rusty Unseen Hands Dagger to a forge and sharpen it with a sharpening stone. It may take you several attempts if you are unfamiliar with the process. Once that is accomplished bring me the sharpened dagger, a gnoll fang, and a large king snake skin and I will put the finishing touches on the weapon for you."

So in total, you need:

sharpening stone(s)
a gnoll fang
a large king snake skin

Guard Gregor Can be Killed

He is level 12 according to Illia's, and dark blue to my level 14 half elf rogue. He is on Qeynos Citizen faction, so some denizens of Qeynos are rather glowering to me. Yes, he is a Taskmaster, but he can be targeted and attacked. I tried pickpocketing, but my skill is pretty low. So I tried the attack, and it worked. My rogue is untwinked, with only newbie Wood elf rogue gear on, and random leather armor. She was using her wood elf newbie weapon.

I find it odd that they added stats to some of the newbie weapons (including the Inky SK, btw) but not the rogues'.

The List
# May 22 2005 at 9:19 PM Rating: Decent
Alright, so here is everything that you need to get the full set of armor and the weapon; silk thread-17, ruined wolf pelt-7, low quality wolf skin-2, medium quality wolf skin-1, giant field rat whiskers-6, large kingsnake skin-3, giant kingsnake skin-3, large myotis bat fur-5, giant myotis bat fur-1, message in thieves cant from Guard Gregor. Spiderling silks (for the silk thread) and the wolf pelts can be found all over Norrath in any newbie zone, the animal drops are found in Qeynos Hills (the Giant Field Rat will take some time finding, just kill every rat until it pops), Guard Gregor can be found in West Karana. I hope that this helps all the human and half elf rogues out there, I will post this message on every board for this armor quest. Have fun and good luck!!.........This list accounts for both bracers.
Immune to attack?

Last night, I got this quest and went to West Karana in search of Guard Gregor. He's now a Task Master! When I tried to attack him (yeah yeah he was red to me, shh), it wouldn't even let me hit him. So does that make this quest broken?
what the heck is this?!

Picking?
# Jul 30 2002 at 8:09 AM Rating: Default
Anyone try just picking the note out of his pocket instead of killing him. this is a "thieves" quest after all.

The way I look at it is: if I'm capable of killing him for the note, do it. I'd hate to have some lowbie rogue trying desperately to pick his pocket for the note, only to find that it was already stolen. For courtesy's sake, I killed him so the next Rogue would find him, note in pocket.

This is the worst quest of ALL newbie weapon quests
# Jul 29 2002 at 4:36 PM Rating: Good
For the information of all my fellow human rogues (if there are any), this quest weapon stinks. But here's the skinny if you intend to do this quest for the sake of completion.

Guard Gregor hangs out in the little village at near the Q-Hills zone, just down from Misty Storyswapper. She won't help him if you attack. Gregor conned light blue to me at 20, so I'd put him around 16th level or so.

The Dagger of Unseen Hands is your "reward." Speaking as a player who also has a Dark Elf Shadow Knight (previously, the worst newbie quest weapon) and a Gnomish Warrior (still the best newbie weapon I've seen), I can say that the Dagger is the lousiest piece of quest crap in the game.

It's a Magic/Lore/NoDrop Piercer (obviously) 3/21 STR +1 DEX +1 and cannot be armed in the Ranged slot.

If a rogue capable of killing this guy, especially soloing him, hasn't at least gone to North Karana and bought a Combine Rapier (or found another item at a vendor) by this point, you need to be kicked. You'll be able to backstab for a whopping 22 points. This item sucks. Period. End of story. I keep it around to shave with.

hehe the wood elf rogue weapon is like 7 26 and all the three parts to it could probably be gotten at like lvl 6 with the greatest of ease. All you need to do is sneak over to the wall in crushbone, and ask the group if you could loot a perserved orc hide and 2 rotting orc teeth that drop off the leggos. Any group will let you cause to them its just no drop junk. the dagger also looks pretty cool :P

I think the evil gnome rogue dagger has the same stats except the delay is 22 not 21, making IT the worst newbie weapon quest.

On the plus side, it can be used by evil gnome wizards too...

/agree. 3 damage seems a little low, even for a newbie weapon.
