You say, 'Hail, Brenthalion Aleslammer'

Brenthalion Aleslammer says 'Lo dere Polunk! I be Brenthalion Aleslammer Holy Defender of Brell! I can see that ye found my temple of Brell that I have resided over for many years. I have been appointed by da King Kazon himself to make sure dat all our young paladins get da [training] dey need before dey go out to explore da world. Aye.'

You say, 'What training?'

Brenthalion Aleslammer says 'Ye see Polunk, learning all the correct fighting tactics along with learning your way around your homeland can be no easy task for a young one new to Kaladim. That is why I have developed a series of training exercises that help me monitor our young ones as they progress through the ranks of the Paladin on their path to true enlightenment! If you are a [young paladin of Brell] I would be happy to explain to you how the exercises work and I would also recommend that you take part in them!'

You say, 'I am a young paladin of Brell.'

Brenthalion Aleslammer says 'Well I would be lyin if`n hearing dose words didn't bring a smile to me face every time that I hear dem. First thing you will need a Magical Mail Assembly Kit that you will use to combine different magical items in that will create an armor material. Once you have created a armor material you can then take it to a forge along with a armor mold to fashion an armor piece. If you are able to collect all the items for them you will have the potential to make a full set of Underfoot Defenders Platemail! If`n ye are [ready to begin] collecting yer items I will be happy to give you your Magical Mail Assembly Kit and git you started!'

You say, 'I am ready to begin.'

Brenthalion Aleslammer says 'Excellent Polunk! Here is your Magical Mail Assembly Kit. Once you are ready to collect the items for a specific armor piece simply tell me what piece of Underfoot Defenders Platemail that you [want] to craft. I can provide you with the material recipe and enchanted armor molds for Underfoot Platemail [Helms], [Bracers], [Armguards], [Boots], [Greaves], [Gauntlets], and [Breastplates].'

You say, 'I want to craft armguards.'

Brenthalion Aleslammer says 'To create yer armguards material you will need to combine 2 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 2 Scarab Legs, and 1 Spiderling Silk in yer assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion yer very own Underfoot Defenders Armguards.'

I don't know what era this is, but he doesn't exist yet on the Phinigel server, which just unlocked Velious. Based on the date of entry of this quest, my guess is that the era is Shadows of Luclin.
What'cha need for the Armor.

Here is what you'll need fer the Armor (not including stuff for wpn). Disclaimer: standard issue.

21 Bricks of Crude Bronze
1 Aviak Eye
1 Ration
2 Runnyeye Warbeads
2 Shattered Warbeads
2 Gypsy Wines
2 Scarab Legs
1 Spiderling Silk
1 Aqua Goblin Foot
2 Ogre Jawbones
1 Basilisk Tounge
1 Orc Skull
1 Goblin Skull
1 Scarab Eye
1 Margyl's Tounge
1 Insignia of Greenblood
2 Rock Spiderling Legs
1 Scarab Carapace
1 Golden Bandit Tooth
1 Skunk Tail
1 Enraged Goblin Beads
1 Pristine Forest Drakeling Scales

As i reccomend with all newb quests, i suggest checking merchants for the droppable items. The Enraged Beads and Margyl's Tounge are No Drop. I'll pass on an excellant tip i heard in game for getting Bricks of Crude Bronze - try the merchants on the good side of Toxx Forest. I can generally find all the Crude Bronze i need there :).

Anybody have any info on the rare drops for these "newby" armor quests? Some of the ingredients seem like they are way out range for a level 5 dwarf paladin. Im lvl 7 and aqua goblins, for example, are still red to me.

Level 5 is a good time to start these quests because that is when you can begin killing goblins for the crude bronze... at this early stage, there are so many people running around looking for bronze that it doesn't make it to vendors (and those who are not involved in the quests let it rot because it is too heavy and doesn't stack).

Some of the pieces can be obtained relatively easy, such as the armguards (scarab legs from the little scarab in newbie area and spiderling silk), or the bracer (warbeads seem to drop only from those goblins that are stationary at the camps, but I don't remeber exactly where I got mine).

Most of the items are also droppable, and which means vendors will usually have them, and with the new drops that sell for good cash -- pristine skunk and Krag claws, as well as the goblin heads and blood sell to vendors for about 4pp each -- it should be easy to earn enough money to buy most of the items.

The most difficult components for the paladin armor set will be Margyl's tongue (no drop, for the gauntlets), the pristine forest drake scale from GFay (for the breastplate -- everyone is looking for it, and it's a rare drop), and the goblin skull (may not be dropping at all... I haven't seen one yet). Enraged goblin beads drop regularly, but they are usually camped, and you should be a high enough level to take on the camp, or have a group.

These quests are meant to be progressive, so that the breastplate/tunic/robe is the most difficult armor item to obtain.
