You say, 'Hail, Yuin Starchaser'

Yuin Starchaser says 'Welcome to the Keepers of the Art friend Allakhazam. I am Yuin Starchaser and it is my pleasure to assist new scholars wishing to study the arts of Enchantment, Wizardry, and Magery. Although much can be learned within these halls there is no substitute for experiences gained in the world outside Felwithe. The Koada'Dal have many enemies however, and it is wise to be prepared to face them. If you are new to the Keepers of the Art I will assist you in obtaining a [robe and clothing] suitable for study in the wilds.'

You say, 'What robe and clothing?'

Yuin Starchaser says 'You will need this specially prepared Curing Kit to craft the Art Keepers clothing. The materials required vary depending on the piece of clothing you desire to craft. Once you have been outfitted in the garments return to me and you may be assistance with [another task]. Do you desire to craft a [art keepers cap], [art keepers wristband], [art keepers gloves], [art keepers boots], [art keepers sleeves], [art keepers pantaloons], or [art keepers robe]?'

You say, 'I desire art keepers pantaloons.'

Yuin Starchaser says 'To craft Art Keepers Pantaloons you require two [silk thread], giant wasp warrior pollen, two woven spider silks, and two forest drakeling scales. Once you have the necessary components combine them in your Curing Kit with this Tattered Leggings Pattern.'

Changes to Felwithe INT Caster Noob Armor
# Jun 30 2003 at 8:17 AM Rating: Excellent
I started a newbie High Elf Enchanter on my second account and found at least one difference in the "ingredients" necessary for at least one of the items.

The recipe for the robe (I got them this weekend, Saturday, 28 June 2003) required giant wasp warrior pollen, not worker pollen.

I found these mobs mainly in the northern part of the zone, but have to look for or keep your eye out for them.

Also, if you attack one, I found to my dismay, that any bats or basilisk hatchlings around will attack you!

I do not know if this is a bug or if it is the "nature" of GFay that some of the forest creatures help protect each other.

It seems like a bug because I have never been attacked when attacking drones and worker wasp, near Felwithe, by the low level bats around there.

So, check your recipes again from Yuin Starchaser (spelling? And I believe that is the NPC that gives the armor quests).

I finally got my giant wasp warrior pollen by finding one, carefully following it around until the giant bats and basilisk hatchlings were not around, and then whacking it. Too way too long to do, I hope the quest or mobs are re-vamped a bit. The reward compared to the time and effort, makes it almost not worth it.

Finding monsters...
# Jun 17 2003 at 8:13 PM Rating: Decent
Hi everyone,

Okay, I've read through these discussion posts, and am still having a tough time getting this particular quest done.

Where is this Orc Hill? Is this the Orc Camp that's on the map? How do you get there? I went along the road from Felwithe to Kelethin and past Kelethin but ended up going in circles. Is there a loc for this hill/camp?

Also, where do you find all the spiders to get that many silks from? I'm having a heck of a time finding spiders, and I haven't seen one wasp warrior yet.

Also, I haven't found any vendors in Felwithe that sell spiderling silks, although they do sell the woven spider silk. Do any sell the warrior pollen?

Thanks in advance.

For the time restrained and patience defunct:
Most of these items can be bought from kelethin venders. I believe a few of these items are no-drop but if fall short on EQ time like I do, just take a look at what the vendors are selling before you go hunting for the items.
Complete Item List

Alright, I've seen this done on other threads and it has helped when getting everything together, so here it is for the High Elf Int Caster noob armor.

Armor Items:
15 Silk Threads (30 Spiderling Silks)
8 Giant Wasp Worker Pollens
11 Woven Spider Silks
5 Ruined Forest Drakeling Scales
1 Forest Drakeling Scale
1 Pristine Forest Drakeling Scale

Weapon Items:
Orc Thaumaturgists Spell Book
Pristine Forest Drakeling Scale (this is the second one, if you're keeping count)
Arborean Amber

Full Stats of ALL items when equiped:
CHA: 8
INT: 16
AGI: 6
DEX: 7
Mana: 10
AC: 21
2HB 8dmg 34dly

Clearly not one of the best noob armor sets around there, and they only redeeming value on the weapon is that it is magic, so you can use it against willowisps, but as for the weapon, that's about it. Get a different weapon as soon as possible. It does feel good to actually finish the complete quest, though, so for those of you who have, give yourselves a pat on the back, since you clearly have more heart than the 12 year olds who only want the shiniest weapons. Besides, when you're a caster, what are you going to do with a weapon anyways? Rooting and nuking, staying in groups, and letting your pets die while you get distance between a red mob is the way of a caster, and if you can't enjoy the social aspects of EverQuest, why aren't you off playing Dungeon Siege instead? Besides, people who complete the noob quests are much more likely to get an epic later on, since they are the people who will stick with a quest and complete it, no matter what. These are the types of people I would want in a group and in a guild.

Multi questable?
# Sep 09 2002 at 9:37 AM Rating: Decent
Is this item multiquestable?
RE: Multi questable?
# Sep 09 2002 at 2:27 PM Rating: Decent
The item is Lore and No Drop so you can only have one. But, if you wanted to I guess you could destroy it and do it again. But you can't give it away. The box you use to combine is also Lore. You could gather the stuff for someone else, but they have to do the combining.

Multiquesting refers to multiple people each handing in some of the items requested to an NPC. For example, say an NPC asks you to bring them one ruined wolf pelt and one rat tooth. If one PC turns in the wolf pelt and then a second PC turns in the tooth, the second PC gets the reward. This is sometimes used as a way of getting around nodrop quest items. In this case, however, nothing is being turned, the items are simply being combined in a container. So, to answer the original question, this quest is not multiquestable.
Won't work

I was trying to make the cap, boots and gloves, but when I hit combine, it said I couldn't combine them in that container type. As far as I know, I was using the right items in the right container. Has anyone had this happen? Any ideas?

Ok, telling tales on myself, but I wanted to start making the newbie outfit for my Level 7 HE Enchanter.... put the materials in the box and hit combine. You do not have the required materials. Hunh? Smiley: cry

After reading the text, I now feel rather dense. I needed to go get the pattern for the cap from Starchaser. DOH! Smiley: yikes

Did you make sure to put items into container as individual items? You cannot put 2 silk threads in together. They must be put in one at a time, separated.
wasp pollen

After spending an entire night on orc hill I managed to find 6 or 7 warrior wasps..............

None of them had pollen. DAMN.

Giant Wasp Warrior

Found some warriors at orc camp just outside CB yesterday. Was there for about half an hour, and saw at least 4 or 5 warrior wasps.
Happy hunting!

Giant Wasp Warriors?
# Jul 25 2002 at 7:23 PM Rating: Decent
Has anyone seen where the Giant Wasp Warriors spawn? I hunted around Felwithe and Kelethin for about five hours last night and saw everything I needed for the art keeper items except for the Giant Wasp Warriors.

Interestingly enough, I had better luck finding Pristine Drakeling Scales than the ruined ones. Does anyone know if the scales can ruined in the same way as some pelts can?
