You say, 'Hail, Yuin Starchaser'

Yuin Starchaser says 'Welcome to the Keepers of the Art friend Allakhazam. I am Yuin Starchaser and it is my pleasure to assist new scholars wishing to study the arts of Enchantment, Wizardry, and Magery. Although much can be learned within these halls there is no substitute for experiences gained in the world outside Felwithe. The Koada'Dal have many enemies however, and it is wise to be prepared to face them. If you are new to the Keepers of the Art I will assist you in obtaining a [robe and clothing] suitable for study in the wilds.'

You say, 'what robe and clothing'

Yuin Starchaser says 'You will need this specially prepared Curing Kit to craft the Art Keepers clothing. The materials required vary depending on the piece of clothing you desire to craft. Once you have been outfitted in the garments return to me and you may be assistance with [another task]. Do you desire to craft a [art keepers cap], [art keepers wristband], [art keepers gloves], [art keepers boots], [art keepers sleeves], [art keepers pantaloons], or [art keepers robe]?'

You say, 'I desire art keepers sleeves'

Yuin Starchaser says 'To craft Art Keepers Sleeves you require two [silk thread], giant wasp warrior pollen, a woven spider silk, and a forest drakeling scales. Once you have the necessary components combine them in your Curing Kit with this Tattered Sleeves Pattern.'

Complete Item List

Alright, I've seen this done on other threads and it has helped when getting everything together, so here it is for the High Elf Int Caster noob armor.

Armor Items:
15 Silk Threads (30 Spiderling Silks)
8 Giant Wasp Worker Pollens
11 Woven Spider Silks
5 Ruined Forest Drakeling Scales
1 Forest Drakeling Scale
1 Pristine Forest Drakeling Scale

Weapon Items:
Orc Thaumaturgists Spell Book
Pristine Forest Drakeling Scale (this is the second one, if you're keeping count)
Arborean Amber

Full Stats of ALL items when equiped:
CHA: 8
INT: 16
AGI: 6
DEX: 7
Mana: 10
AC: 21
2HB 8dmg 34dly

Clearly not one of the best noob armor sets around there, and they only redeeming value on the weapon is that it is magic, so you can use it against willowisps, but as for the weapon, that's about it. Get a different weapon as soon as possible. It does feel good to actually finish the complete quest, though, so for those of you who have, give yourselves a pat on the back, since you clearly have more heart than the 12 year olds who only want the shiniest weapons. Besides, when you're a caster, what are you going to do with a weapon anyways? Rooting and nuking, staying in groups, and letting your pets die while you get distance between a red mob is the way of a caster, and if you can't enjoy the social aspects of EverQuest, why aren't you off playing Dungeon Siege instead? Besides, people who complete the noob quests are much more likely to get an epic later on, since they are the people who will stick with a quest and complete it, no matter what. These are the types of people I would want in a group and in a guild.

Umm, dude, that list is a bit off.

First of all, there are three types of pollen, not just worker. Secondly, I think you miscounted the scales.

Here's another list I found:

shopping list for caster armor:

Patterns (from Yuin)
15 silk thread (= 30 spiderling silk)
11 woven spider silk
3 giant wasp worker pollen
2 giant wasp drone pollen
3 giant wasp warrior pollen
3 ruined forest drakeling scale
3 forest drakeling scale
2 pristine forest drakeling scale

The pollens are *REALLY* hard to find, btw. Not worth it, IMO.

*REALLY* hard to find. 3 hours by myself, another hour with a friend with track. No pollen.

Warrior Pollen

I think the Sleeves and the Robe are the hardest to get. They both require Giant Wasp Warrior Pollen. I've only seen a few wasp warriors (they hang out near orc hill,) and they were all red to my lvl 6 enchanter.

I was able to complete the cap, gloves and one wrist band in under two hours. My chanter was lvl 4 when I started, and is one solo kill from lvl 7 now. I guess I'll just hurry up and hit lvl 8 and then start hunting those warrior wasps.

Finally, decent gear for newbies for approriate risk. I agree with Elatriel, the drakeling skales are RARE, escpecially with bards hunting for them too for their newbie armor. My advice....do not get rid of scales at all, you will either need them or you can sell/trade them to bards. The warrior pollen is far less common than the worker pollen needed for other Art Keeper quests.

BTW, the armor is green, of a shade to match green silken drape, which i am currently wearing. I have the boots, gloves, sleeves and pantaloons so all of my visible clothing is green. I have had more people inspect me in the last day than in a year.
Art Keepers Sleeves quest

I just finished this quest today. The stats on the item are as follows: AC3, +3 DEX, +2 INT. I did not have trouble finding the spiderling silks and combining them to make silk thread in a small sewing kit, even with no previous tailoring skill. I found woven spider silks on spiderlings, large spiders, and spider matriarchs in GFay. I have found very few drakelings drop the scales, which is inconvenient. The most difficult part of this quest was the giant wasp warrior pollen. I only found about 15 of these in 3 hours, even with a friend helping me and using track. I got only one pollen the entire time. I can only hope these will become more common. Other than that, I thought this was a great quest, and the sleeves well worth the time spent.
