You say, 'Hail, Samatansyn Flamecaller'

Samatansyn Flamecaller says 'It is a pleasure to meet you ______, I am Samatansyn Flamecaller, Warder of Tunare and Guildmaster of Faydarks Champions. I have studied here for many of my years until recently when I took up teaching. I have many pupils that undergo my vigorous [training exercises].'

You say, 'What training exercises?'

Samatansyn Flamecaller says 'I have a series of tests that all new rangers of Kelethin are suggested to participate in. These tests will help you develop many of your skills including hunting and gathering and will also provide you with a chance to fashion your own Trueshot Chainmail. If you are a [ranger of Tunare] and are willing to begin your training I will be happy to explain to you how the tests work.'

You say, 'I am a ranger of Tunare.'

Samatansyn Flamecaller says 'Excellent ______, then let's get started! Here is your Trueshot Assembly Kit. You will collect various items from the Faydark and Clan Crushbone that will be necessary for creating your armor materials in your assembly kit. Once you have fashioned together a specific armor material you can then take it to a forge along with the applicable pattern to create your Trueshot Chainmail armor piece. Simply tell me what armor piece you [want] to craft and I can provide you with the material recipes and patterns for Trueshot Chainmail [Coifs], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Boots], [Legplates], [Gauntlets] and [Tunics].'

You say, 'I want to craft Legplates.'

Samatansyn Flamecaller says 'To create your legplates material you will need to combine 4 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 1 Orc Fibula, 1 Orc Clavicle, and 1 Lightstone in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Trueshot Chainmail Legplates.'

I like it.

I like the color. Chainmail looks a lot better with Luclin models than plate, and the green is a nice thing.

Then again, green's my favorite color, so this is far from an unbiased opinion.
Cannon Fodder

Well you know what they say about the greenhorn in the platoon . . .

Cannon fodder. If he survives his first 7 days then he's considered a vetern and by that time your outa your bright green clothes into some real armor.
Bugged?

I agree that we can't blend in, but I kinda like the color. Maybe someone somewhere thinks that is the color of the forest. It looks better than camouflage at least.
I can't find those stupid fibulas though. I've been killing slavers and cents all day in CB and have seen all kinds of bones...except of course, the one I need. Anyone on Ec'i seen them?

No Fail Forging
# Nov 26 2002 at 5:40 PM Rating: Decent
When these quests first came out they used your various tradeskills (tailoring and smithng in this case) but they are now No Fail, the even better news is that doing these can and sometimes will increase your tradeskills.

yeah, I went up a level doing only the boots, sleeves and one bracer so far. I plan to do the rest over the weekend so hopefully I'll gain a couple more levels.
Forging

Do you have to have a skill in smithing to do this, or do you just hit combine and there is no way to fail.
Fibula Found
# Aug 07 2002 at 10:04 AM Rating: Decent
The fibula is dropped by the Slavers. Clavicals drop much easier by the Cents. Beware of the Warden who likes to hang with the slavers.

There are also willowisps in Greater Faydark, if you don't want to make the trip to Antonica. They're pretty rare though, so you might have to do some hunting if you take that option. And either way, remember that you have to have a magic weapon to hunt willowisps.

The best place for lightstones are from willowisps. More common in East and West Commons. You can also try the Karanas.

I got a couple fibulas from the cents in CB, and the crude bronze is only dropped by the orcs in CB, not in GF as far as I've seen. I'm having the hardest time in the world coming across the lightstone though. Being a total noob I have no magic weapons and can only kick them with my trueshot boots. This is a strange requirement for such a noobie quest.. they're nearly impossible to find in GF and then nearly impossible to kick to death at these low levels.

The tunic was much easier to get than the leg plates.

I've found clavicles on Centurions and Legionarres in Crushbone. I have yet to see a fibula though.

This stuff is a bright 'apple green'... how are we Rangers supposed to blend into the forest wearing this stuff? :o)

Good point, the colors of most of this newby stuff are terrible. You can spot us new guys from a mile away now. Were like some cult that dresses the same.
