You say, 'Hail, Seta Bakindo'

Seta Bakindo says 'Ah.. Welcome friend. I am master Seta, of the Silent Fist Clan. We know that true strength lives in your soul. Once you have found and mastered it, your fists will be deadlier than any blade. I am also currently in charge of training our new recruits. If you are new monk of the Silent Fist I have some [tests] for you to complete.'

You say, 'what test?'

Seta Bakindo says 'I pride myself on passing some of the finest monks in all of the lands through my testing halls. I mainly attribute this fact to my training program that all young monks must undergo. When you are [ready to begin the tests] I will present you with your Silent Fist Assembly Kit and explain to you how the tests work.'

You say, 'i am ready to begin the tests.'

Seta Bakindo says 'Be mindful of your surroundings Treedent, it is here in Qeynos and in the adventuring areas surround it that you will find all the necessary items for creating Armor of the Silent Fist. You will place a number of items in this kit to created infused armor materials. These magical armor materials can then be combined in a loom with a magical pattern to create different Armor of the Silent Fist pieces. When you are ready to collect the items for a specific armor pieces please tell me what armor piece you [want] to craft. I can present you with the patterns for Silent Fist [Caps], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Sandals], [Trousers], [Gloves] and [Robes].'

You say, 'I want to craft the robes.'

Seta Bakindo says 'To create your robe material you will need to combine 5 Woven Spider Silks, 1 High Quality Cat Pelt, 1 Shadow Wolf Paw, 1 Severed Gnoll Foot, 1 Matted Lion Pelt and 1 Cloth Shirt in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a loom along with this pattern to fashion your very own Robe of the Silent Fist. Please come see me after you have completed your robe. I need to see you for some help with a [problem] our clan has been having.'

Got a paw 28 May 04

I just got a paw today 28 May 2004 in Western Karana. I got it from A Black Wolf, not A Shadow Wolf. There were two black wolves popped and standing next to each other just east of the ogre camp on the hill in WK. The exact loc is -1247.53 -10313.60 345.33 again this is in WK not Misty or EC. I killed both wolves the second one had the paw.

No, two spiderling silks make a silk thread, used in tailoring...and two spider silks make a silk swatch used in tailoring...the only way to get the woven is through a drop of buying off vendor.

Good luck.

Drop Rate
# Jan 02 2003 at 12:59 PM Rating: Default
I've spent 5 days in EC hunting these and have killed close to 200 of them. Not a single drop. Petition to GM went something like this...

ME: "Is the drop rate normal on these? I've killed over 100 of them and not a single drop."

GM: "They are dropping as normal."

ME: "And that means?"

GM: "You have as much information as I do."

Hrmmm...so if I don't know if they are dropping normally, how does the GM? ... ah well ...

ME: "But they do drop in this zone, correct?"

GM: "Aye, that they do."

... go figure.
Silks and Paws

For my Cleric's newbie armor, I had to get a Shadow Wolf Paw, and went everywhere. The only placed I got two of those were from WK, from Shadow Wolves. They look exactly like the regular black ones, and I've killed almost a thousand of them, but I only got paws from the Shadow Wolves. As for Woven Spider Silks - very rare drop in WK. I'm gonna check out GFay and see what the situation on the Silks is there. If you come across any of my characters, drop a line sometime!

Caliburnus, level 35 Human Paladin
Zircon, level 9 Wood Elf Ranger
Shikari, level 7 Human Monk
Talaron, level 15 Human Cleric
Kaimas, level 11 Human Shadow Knight

Finally - FINALLY - found a paw, you were right, WK is the place to get them... ok, well at least that's where I got mine, over near that hill where Froon and Choon are... so needless to say I was watching my back the whole time... still, finally found it!

Thanks!

Ugggggh people PEOPLE! ok. look. If you start a char in Gutka or a cat person (bare with me) there is this whole wonderful moobie experience, or killing, mini quests, liniar questing and exploring oyur area. You easily get to like lvl 7 or so doing the Gutka ones.

my point is the other zones are OLD, they cant, or wont, remake the WHOLE zone. Soooo they encourage you to explore in other ways. I can almost PROMISE you if you start a DWARF CLERIC, the paw you need will be in Greater Faydark. Maybe, MAYBE in lesser, but I doubt it.

The point is the more difficult crap is a zone away. to get you to explore. Like a great example isthe woodelf city itself, speaking of Greater Faydark.

There are orc centurions IN that zone, but they dont drop bonze. Now, if you go to steamfront and hunt kobalds OR crusbone almost every kill has bronze. They want you to explore your surroundings.

Im glad you got your paw. But there is no way in hell they intended you to go to WK to get one. lol. I admire your dedication though. I have done about 3 new toons with noob armor. I am even thinking of making a human monk and doing BOTH Qeynos AND Freeport noob armor quest :D :D for challenge and fun.

Shadow Wolves - No Paws - GRRR
# Dec 17 2002 at 11:26 PM Rating: Decent
I know I shouldn't say this, that we should love all of Quellious' creatures... but I am really starting to hate Shadow Wolves.

I have killed ... I can't even guess, *hundreds* over the last two weeks, and had three other people helping me hunt them. So who knows how many total we've killed? We have hunted them everywhere they spawn, and no paw, not ONE. We've shopped for them, even just asked to pay anyone that finds one - still nothing.

Is it possible this is broken?? I mean for an item that's suppose to be "common" it surely isn't - at least on the Saryrn server.

Good Hunting and Good Luck,
Kaishii

Guy I bought the paw from said Black Wolf in WK, that is second hand information but that's all I have.
RE: Black Wolf
# Nov 30 2002 at 12:14 AM Rating: Decent
I have never seen "a black wolf" in WK... only "a shadow wolf", however the shadow wolves are black like "black wolves". I have killed about 80 or 90 mist wolves during the 3 or so levels I've spent there and have never seen a paw off them. Can anyone confirm whether or not they drop off them?? btw i've only seen 3 shadow wolves in all that time and no paw dropped.

I spent quite awhile in EC and though the shadow wolves are more prevelent there I don't think the paw is on their drop table, has anyone confirmed a drop of the paw from EC shadow wolves?? I also tried Misty Thicket but could not find paws, neither on the wolves themselves or the local merchants.

also i'm playing on a PvP server and no one ever hunts in WK that is unless they aren't hunting wolves... meaning i've never found them on merchants in qeynos or WK

I have completed this quest and the result is as follows:
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO DROP
Slot. CHEST
AC: 6
DEX: +2 STA: +5
WT: 0.9 Size: MEDIUM
Class: MNK
Race: HUM
I bought all the components off vendors in qeynos where others had sold them except for the shadow wolf paw, which I bought from a paladin in WK who said he got it off a Black Wolf in WK, but that the wolves were rare where he was hunting and that he had only gotten the one paw in two days hunting. I did ask which part of zone and he said hunting scarecrows in the fields. For the fashion concious it gives one a "halter top" look on a female human monk, not an actual "robe" look.

Woven Spider Silks, Again
# Sep 07 2002 at 11:05 PM Rating: Default
The best way to get these is to level up to 6 or 7, then go to Greater Faydark. (If you can't afford a port, run to the spires in Northern Karana, transport up to the Nexus, then down to Faydwer; it'll put you right in the middle of GFay.) Almost all of the Large Widows and Widow Matriarchs drop a Woven Silk; the Widow Hatchlings drop one about 40% of the time. The Large Widows are fairly common spawn, particularly around the newbie Orc hill, so you can get plenty of fighting time in. I managed to collect all twenty needed in a little over an hour.

Shadow Wolf Paw

Ok, I have killed every shadow, mist, grey, and black wolf I have seen. I have killed them in 4 or 5 different zones ranging from WK to EC. I have killed them with 3 different characters ranging from lvl 4 to lvl 26 and no paw. I have even killed some rats that kind of looked like wolves. I have searched countless merchants in those same 4 or 5 zones. What gives? Any advice at all?

Woven Spider Silk is dropped not created, I had much luck in the Commons outside Freeport. Along the road about halfway through the zone Large Spiders seem to hang about there n' dropped nicely for me.

ok, I have kill way to many gnolls in BB and surrounding area to count and have not ever seen a severed gnoll foot and my OOC's on where they are found are to no avail. So where are they?

most of the merchants in qeynos and the hills will sell severed gnoll foot. check them out.

RE: WOVEN???

Woven silk is dropped by the widows in Gfay. Looks like a coil of rope dropped by orcs.
RE: WOVEN???
# Aug 14 2002 at 11:23 AM Rating: Default
I don't know about where you have been hunting, but the other day I was in greater fay, and I came across two of them on large widows. they look like a coiled rope. hope this helps.
RE: WOVEN???
# Jul 20 2002 at 9:48 PM Rating: Decent
calm down man. Woven Spider Silk is a relatively new item that Verant has added to the game for these armor quests. I have seen them drop off of any giant spider in the Karanas and Commons, but they are a RARE drop.
RE: WOVEN???
# Aug 17 2002 at 12:12 PM Rating: Decent
to me, they seem a little less rare on the large spiders in EC when i was getting them.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 02 2002 at 5:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What a bunch of crap. I feel your pain, Bentham. I play on Firiona Vie, also. The paws drop off of the Mist Wolves. Rare drops. But at level 9, they're "trivial," which makes no sense.
RE: Tajin Tainted.
# Jul 02 2002 at 11:09 PM Rating: Default
Large spiders are about level 4, and they drop woven silk. Sounds reasonable to me.

Giant spiders drop woven silk, too. Why? My guess is, they use the same loot table as the large spiders.

Shadow Wolf Paw
# Jun 26 2002 at 1:28 PM Rating: Decent
Geez, I can't count how many shadow wolves I killed and no paw. I couldn't find too may in WK so I went to EC to find one while collecting woven silk. No paw there either. Was offering 10pp for one and nobody else could find one either.

Somebody else stated they found one on a black wolf in WK. I might go back to WK now and try killing all the canines I can find and see if that helps. Hope there's no trivial kill loot code on it cause I am playing on FV server.

So far I have done both the Stonehands and the Silent fists quests and have found that mixing and matching them helps. Some are equal all except having to choose between wanting 2 Agil or 2 Dex. For the bracers, don't bother with the stonehands, the silent fists are same stats but with an extra 1 dex.

Can you use a sewing kit instead of a loom? If not, where can I find a loom?
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 24 2002 at 12:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) there is no actuall thing called a "loom" it is indeed a sewing kit that is need to combine these peices
RE: The loom
# Jun 24 2002 at 9:27 PM Rating: Default
Yes, there are looms. They act just like a 10 slot sewing kit and are permenant fictures in towns (like forges, pottery wheels, kilns. . .). Since they act just like a sewing kit, I would assume you can use a sewing kit. I haven't tested that theroy in relation to this quest tho.
