You say, 'Hail, Seta Bakindo'

Seta Bakindo says 'Ah.. Welcome friend. I am master Seta, of the Silent Fist Clan. We know that true strength lives in your soul. Once you have found and mastered it, your fists will be deadlier than any blade. I am also currently in charge of training our new recruits. If you are new monk of the Silent Fist I have some [tests] for you to complete.'

You say, 'what test?'

Seta Bakindo says 'I pride myself on passing some of the finest monks in all of the lands through my testing halls. I mainly attribute this fact to my training program that all young monks must undergo. When you are [ready to begin the tests] I will present you with your Silent Fist Assembly Kit and explain to you how the tests work.'

You say, 'i am ready to begin the tests.'

Seta Bakindo says 'Be mindful of your surroundings Treedent, it is here in Qeynos and in the adventuring areas surround it that you will find all the necessary items for creating Armor of the Silent Fist. You will place a number of items in this kit to created infused armor materials. These magical armor materials can then be combined in a loom with a magical pattern to create different Armor of the Silent Fist pieces. When you are ready to collect the items for a specific armor pieces please tell me what armor piece you [want] to craft. I can present you with the patterns for Silent Fist [Caps], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Sandals], [Trousers], [Gloves] and [Robes].'

You say, 'i want to craft the trousers.'

Seta Bakindo says 'To create your trouser material you will need to combine 4 Woven Spider Silks, 1 Bandit Sash, 1 Matted Lion Pelt and 1 Giant Spider Egg Sack in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a loom along with this pattern to fashion your very own Trousers of the Silent Fist.'

Your best bet is always to follow the link to the item's own page, which is where the creatures that drop it are generally listed.

How common a drop are the sashes? I've been hunting bandits for what seems like forever and haven't seen one yet.

What gives?
Thanks for any input.

*Update: Unbelievable! I signed on to EQ later in the evening after writing this question and wouldn't know you that the next two bandits I killed had sashes...heh...thought I was on a roll till the third one didn't--don't know how else it might have turned out as I had to sign off then.

I hunted in WK for all of lvl 10 trying to get a matted lion pelt. It was quite wierd, I killed every moving plains lion I could find. Because a lot of these were light blue and I was hunting lions almost exclusively it took me 2 days to reach lvl 11. In that time I lost count of the number of lions I killed. I never once got a matted lion pelt to drop.

Now comes the fun part. I got a friend to port me to Commons and I run into a "woodlands lion" almost right away, killed it, and it dropped a matted lion pelt (which are NOT no drop, btw). One lion, one pelt. It was quite wierd.

I also had a much easier time finding woven spider silks (they are dropped not made) in Greater Faydark than I did anywhere else.

Moral of the story, if you get fed up with trying to find certain items for these newbie quests, try a change of venue, you just may find things come a bit easier.
