You say, 'Hail, Seta Bakindo'

Seta Bakindo says 'Ah.. Welcome friend. I am master Seta, of the Silent Fist Clan. We know that true strength lives in your soul. Once you have found and mastered it, your fists will be deadlier than any blade. I am also currently in charge of training our new recruits. If you are new monk of the Silent Fist I have some [tests] for you to complete.'

You say, 'what test?'

Seta Bakindo says 'I pride myself on passing some of the finest monks in all of the lands through my testing halls. I mainly attribute this fact to my training program that all young monks must undergo. When you are [ready to begin the tests] I will present you with your Silent Fist Assembly Kit and explain to you how the tests work.'

You say, 'i am ready to begin the tests.'

Seta Bakindo says 'Be mindful of your surroundings Treedent, it is here in Qeynos and in the adventuring areas surround it that you will find all the necessary items for creating Armor of the Silent Fist. You will place a number of items in this kit to created infused armor materials. These magical armor materials can then be combined in a loom with a magical pattern to create different Armor of the Silent Fist pieces. When you are ready to collect the items for a specific armor pieces please tell me what armor piece you [want] to craft. I can present you with the patterns for Silent Fist [Caps], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Sandals], [Trousers], [Gloves] and [Robes].'

You say, 'i want to craft the bracers.'

Seta Bakindo says 'To create your bracer material you will need to combine 1 Woven Spider Silk, 2 Rat Whiskers, 1 Gnoll Jawbone and a Cloth Wristband in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a loom along with this pattern to fashion your very own Bracer of the Silent Fist.'

LOOM?

Whats a loom and where can i find it?
RE: LOOM?
# Jul 19 2003 at 6:55 AM Rating: Decent
In virtually every town in Norrath. It's actually pretty sad that you don't know what one is and yet you are playing a fantasy game, but anyway.....

It looks like a slanted textured board held in place by two wooden legs. Easiest place to find em is in Kelethin. To use it you have to click on the edge of the loom not the board itself.

Of course it would be easier just to but yourself a sewing kit. That works too and doubles as a nice backpack. Since they eliminated the ability to accidentally combine items that can't be combined it's perfectly safe to keep anything you want in combine containers.

The so caled Newbi quest for monks is not the easyest to do solo so do what i did and get the help of some friends for the no drop stuff and take your high Lv player out for the rest and the do a transfer.
nom the fun part why did i wast my time on all this.
Bear in mind

One thing to remember, is that in Qeynos you mus choose between wearing your Silent Fist Cap, and the Qeynos Monk headbands. This may not matter much at all to some, but the Freeport Monks do not need to make this choice, since their Monk Quest item is a belt.

Bear in mind... The smart monk will have both the sash and the headband. As both headband and sash are needed for the epic, you will eventually want both. At very low levels, the quest cap may prove more useful however, as it has ac and more stats.

Gnoll Jawbones drop off gnolls in Blackburrow, but not from gnoll scouts or gnoll pups.

you can cross through Black Burrow and go to Everfrost to kill spiders-but have never seen any woven spider silks drop.

I managed to find a merchant in South Qeynos and bought a woven spider silk. However, I think there are large spiders in West Karana that drop the silks.

Three silk threads used to make a "silk cord", used in making tailored bags. Are you really sure it doesn't now?

Anyway, the Woven Spider Silk is fairly common from Giant Spiders in EC, although that's not an easy zone for a level 9 monk to get to from Qeynos.
catacombs?

It's been a long time since I hunted in the Qeynos area, but I believe there are Large Spiders in catacombs that used to drop spider silk. I bet they now drop the woven spider silk as well.

I hunted the catacombs for spiders (well killing everything actually since there isn't a fixed spawn of spiders) for 2-3 hours a week ago. Didn't see any woven spider silk, only normal spider silk, legs and poison sacks. There has been a patch since then and it's a logical place to find woven spider silk. It's certainly closer than EK or WC for what is supposed to be a newbie quest.
completed it!!!

Wt 0.3 and these are magic and No Drop but they are not lore so you can do the quest twice and get a pair.
The Woven silk
# Jun 24 2002 at 1:10 AM Rating: Default
I'm a level 5 Monk in Qeynos who is trying very hard to do these quests. What I must say is that Verant you guys really did poorly with this. This isn't a newbie quest. This is more of a mabye level 15 quest. I'd say the hardest thing is actually getting these silks. There are no spiders in the newbie zone. There are none in Qeynos hills. I think Verant (in there infinite wisdom...) put the closest/easiest way to get these silks is off the spiderlings in the Qeynos sewers...the spiders themselves are easy for me at 5. But the Dread Corpses pound me for 20ish make it difficult. Spiders in WK at 5 are to hard. Spiders in NK at 5 are to hard. So VI I would recommend putting some spiders in the newbie zone at Qeynos and maybe some in the Qeynos hills. Cause at this point I'm ready to get a port to Nro and kill the spiders there for them.
F*ck Verant

Buddy, look at the freakin stats on this set, Verant aint gonna make it simple to get this... This is godly (well kinda) for an untwinked newbie.
Thanks Cyntala

As my druid was running through WC, stopped to a kill a big ol spider. And, to my surprise, I looted woven silk. Thanks for the info =)
Woven Silk Thread

Found woven silk off of the spiders in NK. Look like a cloth rope belt and the silk cord you get by tailoring 3 threads. It is stackable.
You're not the only on

I can't figure it out either, was gonna go and try what you did until I saw you post that it didn't work...maybe someone sells it?
Hmmm...I'm sure it's me, but...

OK, what the heck is woven spider silk? I thought it was maybe another term for silk swatch, but that's not it. Tried just plain spider silk, didn't work. Tried spiderling silks, silk threads, everything I could think off and nothing has worked so far.

How the heck do you get a woven spider silk? Is this a new drop or result of tailoring recipe? My nearly nekkid little lvl 5 monkey girl is dying to know =)
