You say, 'Hail, Queen Velazul Di`zok'

Queen Velazul Di`zok says 'Hail, minion! It is good to see a member of a lesser race striving to improve themself through service to the Dizok. We are feeling especially generous as of late, and if you would do us a [service], we shall reward you handsomely.'

You say, 'What service?'

Queen Velazul Di`zok says 'We are not sure you are worthy, but shall assign you this task in hopes you prove mighty enough to resolve it. Gather your broodlings about you, and journey to Charasis. There you shall find a Urn of spirits. We require this, as well as [additional components].'

You say, 'What additional components?'

Queen Velazul Di`zok says 'Very well, if you feel you are up to it, lead your broodlings to fallen Sebilis and return to us with a portion of undead dragon sinew. Bring us the Sinew, the Urn, and your Regal Band of Bathezid as proof of service, and a worthy reward shall be yours.'

The Undead Dragon Sinew drops very rarely from Juggernauts and Trakanon in Sebilis.

Trakanon seems to drop the sinew about one in three kills, occasionally dropping more than one.

The Spirit Wracked Urn is dropped by Drusella Sathir in Charasis (3 day spawn) and doesn't always have the urn.

Hand the Undead Dragon Sinew, Urn of Spirits and Regal Band of Bathezid to the Queen in Chardok.

Queen Velazul Di`zok says 'Amazing! You have returned the trophies I asked for, against impossible odds. Here is your reward, worthy minion, may it serve you well.'

You'll receive the Ring back as well as this Cord:

Spirit Wracked Cord (Lore, No Drop)

MQing the Urn
# Sep 02 2004 at 12:35 AM Rating: Excellent

Just tried this today and it looks like the urn cannot be MQed. I gave the queen the urn, and a friend gave the sinew and the ring. The queen kept the sinew and the urn, but gave him his ring back. Instead of losing it, I turned in my ring and got the cord.

Looks like I'll be going back with my buddy to get the urn for him. Since the sinew looks like it can be MQed I'll turn it in and he'll do the other two parts.

Only other thing I can think of is he may not have been max with Chardok. Possibly had a single faction hit or somthing that wouldn't stand out. Guess you should always check your faction with the Herald prior to doing a MQ.

Peace,

Tsuyoi / Kany

P.S. Also just heard that this could be MQed by turning in 1 component at a time. Possibly the ring needed to be fully charged to work or something like that?

Update on MQ

Well, tried this again and got it to work. Secret was to hand in each item seperately. So, these steps worked:

1) Urn gets turned in first by itself
2) Sinew gets turned in by itself
3) Ring gets turned in for cord

Now I just need to get more in my guild to get the faction for the cord since I have a complete set of the turn-ins available. ;)

Peace,

Tsuyoi / Kany

I have my druid (170 tracking) parked at the IZ and tracking for the Queen. I can see the king and prince but havent seen the queen. Is she trackable? Whats her spawn time? Can a SoS Rog get down there to unloak the door?

EDIT: Found out the queen can't be seen from IZ with 170 tracking. She is just outta reach. And spawn time I heard from several people is 2hr.

The cave has 3 seperate rooms and in each is about 6-7 goblins. Also several goblins can be found roamins around.

http://www.eqatlas.com/kunark/frontiermtnsmap.html

it is item B on that map. It is not Burynai caves anymore it seems the redid this. Now it is Goblin caves. Inside here you can also find

who has some cheap equipment that you can maybe use for low level alts. Idol isnt that bad. He was easy for 65 warrior went down in seconds.

Having spent my younger days in the Overthere, I had reached max KOS to Di'Zok, so this was quite a long haul for me.

I exp'ed in Nurga for quite a while, so I had maybe a thousand positive hits from KOS. I then killed around another 1000 goblins in FM to get to Threatening. As part of that killing I had also collected hundreds of skins and salts.

Handing them in to the herald was enough to take me all the way to Kindly, so the hand-ins give bigger than a +1 faction hit. My guess is +3 for the skins and +2 for the salts, but I didn't check it that closely.

I'd say ally cause you need ally for the lower quests, not sure though, still working on faction for the lower 2 quests

Ally. You'll also need to stay ally to recharge the ring.
Getting Skins/Salts
# Dec 24 2003 at 11:17 AM Rating: Good
I'm near the end of this quest now with only the Drusella drop to go. (Last of my friends to get it since I need it the least)

A little note on factioning with salts/skins. I've fought in Nurga/Droga for countless hours farming items/quests since revamp to make money and get the faction I need. In general, I've found salts/skins quite a bit rare in Nurga/Droga. If you are looking for these, get to Frontier Mountains in a cave at loc n1900,p2100 in SW corner of zone. It's where Warlord Skargus spawns for the ring part of quest. I found these mobs to have a much much higher drop rate for skins/salts, sometimes 2 at a time. Also the mobs are chumps to kill and are way green at 65 and green to 54 too. Good faction and you can keep an eye on the Angry Goblin. Which, if you do that part of the quest, will spawn Skargus, which is 300pt positive chardok faction if you kill him, which you'll have to do anyway.

Killed DS on Nameless a week after revamp dropped the urn, good thing too i was about ready to quit EQ 6 kills on DS with another 4 ppl id been competing with to camp her was enough for me.

Patch saved my sanity (well what little of it was left)... Interesting developments though - Rumour only (i haven't confirmed this) that other mobs in that wing that are named can drop the urn. This would however from my experience make sense since i did loot a mirror an the rod off other named which were historically on DS pre-patch loot table.

Secondly the Queen in CD can drop the cords, almost cried when I saw that a friends guild had got them since took me upwards of prolly 50+ hrs to do the quest. Maybe more let me think 5 x 7hrs factioning in Droga or close too + 6 DS kills yeh oh and how could i forgot the angry goblin who took 2 days to pop and the shady goblin who took 17hrs, yes if your wondering i do have worst luck in Norrath. Thanx but no thanx the items nice but if my body rotted i wouldn't do it again =). My advice is to anyone stop and consider how long this quest takes now that pop's out you might decide farming 100k for farwater plate armor a nicer alternative *shrug*.

Just finished this up today and I have to say it was well worth all the time spent on it.

Regarding Factioning: While it was fun to exp and faction in Nurga/Droga, I found it was far easier and quicker to fight in the goblin cave (where Angry Goblin spawns) in Frontier Mountains. Not only was there more salts/skins dropping there, but there is a mob(goblin traitor)that you can check your faction against.

Regarding getting down to Chardok: I was searching all Sunday morning for a rogue that was non-kos in Chardok. I could not find such a rogue available. I kept searching using /who all 60 65 Rogue (figuring someone lower may not even consider doing any Chardok faction since revamps). Anyways I found a guy that was willing to help me, said he was KOS, but he could get down there no problem. Something called SOS (Shield of Stealth), a rogue AA I gather, and a levitate was all he needed to do. So he followed me down, he disarmed the trap on the bridge entrance to main castle, opened the 2 doors, and blam I am done. Easy as pie once I found someone to help.

Thanks again to all the Nihil members that supported me in this quest. Thanks Aerendale, that crazy rogue who would go where no other Rogue would go.

No, you're thinking of ... not 100% sure on the name, it's either Trakanon Guts or Undead Dragon Guts.

The Sinew is a random drop off Golems and regular Trakanon. Not sure if they drop off the Bard Trak.

Anyway, the bard epic drop is the guts, which is only attainable from the triggered spawn of Trakanon (Undead Bard turnin + kill = fakey Trak pop)

New Nurg Mine Revamp?
# Jul 22 2003 at 1:43 AM Rating: Decent
Just wondering, with the new re-vamp of the faction zones (Nurg, etc), is it feasible to get faction to ally if KOS atm? Or will it take a full group and centuries...
RE: New Nurg Mine Revamp?
# Aug 30 2003 at 6:20 PM Rating: Decent
The pocket zone Chardok B ( Halls of Betrayal ) has massive faction hits for normal Chardok now. Some are positive, some are negative but on the balance you gain a lot of Chardok faction every time you fight in Chardok B. If you can't handle Chardok B or can not get there, all the old named from the original Droga spawn in some caves in the southwest corner of frontier mountains. They have a very fast spawn time and are quite easy to AE.

I spent about 8 hours camping the caves in Frontier Mountains to get a skull for my shammy's cudgel quest. The goblin traitor was up and allowed me to check my faction frequently. I had already done some killing in Droga/Nurga prior to revamp but was still scowling. After about 1/2 hour, I was up to threatening. I was clearing as fast as I could but was running about two minutes behind thier spawn. By the end of the day (including turn-ins), I was up in the ally range. And the angre goblin had spawned as well as the rest of the Regal Band quest npcs. So, even though I'd headed over looking for a skull, I ended up getting Regal Band too :)

I'd say if you already have the sinew, you might as well complete this quest. For me, this and strength of the elements are the only 100 hp items I'm going to be able to get any time soon. I have been CASUALLY factioning since level 40 or so, when I took some friends down to Droga before the revamp...revisited at 55 and spent the last two levels there. I think the revamp is a beautiful thing, because now you can get plat, exp, and equipment upgrades while factioning. If you want to do it the boring way, the old level 30-40 Droga mobs have been moved south of the entrance into some caves there. I can AE all the gobbies at once with a 65 cleric ( 57 warrior pulling ) but these drop more salts and skins than the Droga gobs. Judging from previous experience, I -think- ( that means this is an opinion ) the faction on goblins is the same as it always was: +1 per kill, +3 per turn-in.

Undead dragon sinew is going to be the hard part for me. My guild is not Trak capable yet so looks like we will be sitting at Juggs for a while. I am currently kindly and we will be farming Juggs this week so maybe I will have my cord soon =)

Just a brief update here. I was worried about the undead dragon sinew and it turned out to be cake. 2 sinew drops in our first time camping juggs in about 4 hours. If you can clear them it's just a matter of time before you get it, nothing complicated here.

As mentioned before the urn is the real bottleneck in this quest. I got lucky tonight and server crashed...when it reset we made a B-line for HS and took down Dru and I got my urn. Suggestions for HS are bring a rogue and an enchanter. You don't want to waste time gathering keys when other people may be on their way to get her as well. These are kunark mobs...even after the revamp they have low damage output and not many hps, but they come in mass quantities. Mezz is your friend.

Now if I can only find a rogue at 4:00 AM to open doors in Chardok for me /sigh. Guess I wait another day.

Went from max KoS to Indifferent in 3 weeks of Nurga. Not bad pp or xp up to 61. Should only take about another week to get ally. Once you move out of KoS it goes by really fast. But unless you have a reason to be non-KoS in Chardok don't waste your time. There's much better loot out there than this for the effort required, imho.
The look
# Feb 11 2003 at 7:41 PM Rating: Default
Out of curiousity, what does the cord look like when equipped on your wrist or arm? Does it have the Shiverback look similar to Supple Scaled Armband?
RE: The look
# May 29 2003 at 1:28 PM Rating: Good
Cord has a leather look. Just got mine today and wear it in arms slot... bleh, leather not good.
Just thought I'd throw this in, started quest last Monday when I happened to get the undead dragon sinew in Chardok off the third Jugg I killed, decided it was time to start the quest. Went to Droga, killed lots of stuff and the angry goblin spawned. Told friend he was up, she came, and we did the quest for her. Much killing of goblins ensued for the next few days and by the third day +/-10% I was waiting for him when he popped again, kill Skarg went and turned in goblin skins before the head (was still at warmly, wasn't sure if I needed ally or not... but I was close) - close enough for 50 odd skins and about double that in salts to get me to ally. So turned in stuff and got the ring. Then that friend I'd previously helped on the angry goblin happened to log in, I told her I'd gotten the ring and she decided to check HS for me with her druid. Dru was up, so we headed over there and went through to Dru (my first time in HS) and she dropped the urn... bang, down to Chardok Queen we went, and ta da... cords for me. Amazing luck on this quest, and a bit of help at the right time. Very cool and I'm happily wearing my cord now. Not particularly uber for many, but they are for me. Oh, and today is Thursday, so I went from KOS with none of the quest items on Monday to ally with both quests done on Thursday morning... just fantastic! Anyway, that's my not particularly informative or helpful story, but I was too thrilled with the results that I had to post it. =)

In order to get to the Queen you better bring a (Non-KOS)lock-picker to open a few doors because I sure can't find a key. Or get in a group going down there. Would have been nice if they made the 2nd ring a key also.

Able to be done now?
# Sep 25 2002 at 9:38 PM Rating: Default
I was wondering if this was able to be completed. I know that the most faction hits I can get for Cabilis faction is 2000, this is 3500 needed hits. is the 2000 limit only for Cab faction or all factions? Do I even waste time killin gobs to try and raise it?

2000 is the distance to max for all factions, from your starting point. But with Sarnaks you most likely have less than your starting faction, from killing them in your early days, so it will take more than 2000 raises to get to max. Up to 4000.

As for whether to take time killing enough goblins to raise this faction, that's entirely up to you.
RE: Able to be done now?
# Oct 05 2002 at 12:41 AM Rating: Excellent
This quest is dependant on Brood of Di'Zok faction. As far as getting 2000 hits for Cab faction, that doesn't matter. The faction you are wanting to raise is sarnak, Brood of Di'Zok. This can be done in either the Temple of Droga or the Mines of Nurga. Both places have the goblins that are the ones you need to kill. Was there tonight doing my nightly clear of nurga and talked to a 60 erudite necro that had been working on it for two weeks and was just warmly. Hard faction work, but decent rewards.

It takes 3500 faction adjustments to go from max KoS to Max ally, each kill of a goblin in nurga/droga counts as 1 faction adjustment, handing in either 1 green goblin skin, or 2 Death Mt Salts to the Sarnak at Chardok entrance counts as 3 faction adjustments.

Assuming you save all salts and skins you get and hand em in, i'd estimate you need to kill around 2500 Goblins or so. If your a pet class its easy, and boring. Doable in 2 days roughly, and you can camp an Idol of the THorned for a twink while doing faction hehe.

Hehe the faction required for this quest is insane - required ally (Everyone starts off as scowling). I took a twink to droga for about a week and by the end of it (5 or so hours each day) I *just* managed to get dubious. This should give you an idea of the time scale required to get the faction for this line of quests

Not everyone starts at scowling. Agnostic enchanters with werewolf illusion are not KoS assuming they didn't kill any Sarnaks by the time they got here. Faction adjusting spells got me to warmly before I ever killed a goblin. Good luck to the rest of you. =p

There are 2 locked doors on the way to the Royal chambers. The door by the Prince, is a safe spot. So you can have a rogue CotH'd there to open the door. The door in the Library is guarded by the Librarian, who sees invis, but I'm not sure about sneak. You do NOT need to unlock that door if you can gate out. Just move to the right side of the door and fall into the King's chamber. Then run over to the Queen, hand the stuff in, and gate out.
