This quest is available for Human Paladins of Marr.
You say, 'Hail, Edwardian Holyblade' Edwardian Holyblade says 'Greetings and well met Dukane. I am Edwardian Holyblade, noble paladin of Marr. I have devoted my life and my blade to the glory of Mithaniel Marr. I am also in charge of training all new paladins of Marr to make sure that they have the best training necessary. If you are a paladin of Marr I may have some [training] for you.' You say, 'what training' Edwardian Holyblade says 'I have developed a training program for all young and upcoming Paladins of Marr. My tests will enable you to learn some basic hunting, navigating and armor crafting skills. All of these abilities will be very important on your path to enlightenment. If you are [ready to begin my tests] I will explain to you how the tests will work.' You say, 'i am ready to begin your tests' Edwardian Holyblade says 'Very well Krohfak, I look forward to seeing you progress through your training. Here is your special mail assembly kit. In this kit you will combine a number of components that you will collect from all areas of Freeport, North Ro and the Commonlands. The components that you will gather and combine in this kit will magical create a specific armor material piece. Each of these materials will be combined in a forge with the appropriate mold that I will provide you with. I will explain to you how the [recipes] work when you are ready.' You say, 'what recipes' Edwardian Holyblade says 'Once you have crafted your material from the specific recipes I give you you will need the appropriate mold as I mentioned before. I can present you with the recipe and mold for Truthbringers [Helms], [Bracers], [Armguards], [Boots], [Greaves], [Gauntlets] and [Breastplates]. When you are ready to being collecting the components for a material recipe simply tell me what piece you [want] to craft.' You say, 'i want to craft a breastplate' Edwardian Holyblade says 'Any paladins most important armor piece is always their breastplate. Should you succeed in crafting it your Truthbringer Breastplate will guard your upper body from any serious attacks that would otherwise be quite devasting. To create your breastplate material you will need to combine 5 Bricks of Crude Iron Ore, 1 Young Plains Cat Scalp, 1 Young Puma Skin, 1 Water Flask 1 Deathfist Orc Skull and 1 Giant Fire Beetle Carapace in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Truthbringers Breastplate. After you have completed your breastplate come back to see me for I have one final test for you.' | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Gwydo, it isn't a no drop item to answer your question. I was lucky to find one on a vendor in EC

Is there any of these kind of noobie quests for Dwarf Paladins? /feels left out~ maybe there coming or im not looking hard enough!

The Dwarves have had the Scarab armor for some time. BP, hat & shoes. I think this is as close as it comes to newbie quest armor. Hmmm. May have been the prototype - who knows.

They are doing them for all race/class combinations. They just haven't gotten to Felwithe, Kelethin, or Kaladim yet. Come to think of it, not sure if they've done the ones for Odus yet either.

I got all the items together (including the turtle shaped carpace) and it still wouldn't let me combine them. Is there a "Young Puma Skin" rather than just a "Puma Skin"?? I got the orc skull, water flask, Scalp, "Puma Skin", carpace (turtle shaped), and the 5 bricks any help?

Yes, the Young Puma Skin is no drop and is different than the Puma Skin. They are dropped off of the Young Pumas in both EC and North Ro.

where does one get the deathfist orc skulls?
I have personally found them in two places...
1) Orc Camp 1. Not sure which orc type dropped, and I probably found two over a two hour period.
2) EC merchants. I saw a couple for sale by the EC merchants, I think it was at the Inn between the orc camps.
*** When doing the truthbringers quests, its a great idea to check all the EC, NRO, and even some FP merchants. I found most of the items there, and chased down monsters for the rest.

OK, the recipe does work. The problem is that there are two different Giant Fire Beetle Carapaces that drop. One of them looks like a normal Scarab Carapace, and the other looks like a turtle shell. Use the the one that looks like a turtle shell. If you use the other one, you get the DNC message. I successfully made the breastplate, but was lucky and had both types of shell to play with.

There is an image of a pally wearing it, and shows the stats.. so someone got it to work.. very frustrating..

This recipe is WRONG. I have tried to forge the item and get an error. Another perosn also confirmed to me that the recipe does not forge for them as well... Does anyone have the correct recipe?
I can confirm that the recipe does not work. I submitted a bug and let the GM know too.... Hope they fix it soon!
This quest is, as stated above this page as first line, for Human Paladins only, worshipping Mithaniel Marr !

Xsis, we are using the "right" items. Its the game thats messed up. There are two versions of the same item, the "Giant Fire Beatles Carapace". The one that LOOKS like the regular Fire Beatles Carapace (shield like) is wrong. Trust me, I got mine off a GFB and it did not work. So I killed another, got the same thing with a different graphic and it worked fine.
BTW, I noticed that a lot of the merchants sell the WRONG version of the GFBC, so you need to kill GFBs and the recipe item off of them.

Or just get the one that looks like a turtle shell helm.. you'll also notice the weight and size of the correct one is different and it's stackable whereas the other one isn't.. I just happened to get both carapaces at the same time.. was really weird.. "woot, found a giant fire beetle carapace!.. hmm, what's this helm thing? .. a giant fire beetle carapace.. huh?" hehe, I double checked it a couple of times then just took both of them with me to try the recipe..
