You say 'Hail Klom Jysun'

Klom Jysun says 'Pleasure to meet you Isola. I am Klom Jysun, Grandmaster of the Ashen Order. I have lived in the great city of Freeport for quite sometime now and have watched the city evolve and change. Nowadays though I am in charge of training new members of the Ashen Fist. If you are a young monk and are in need of some armor I might have some work for you. Are you a [monk]?'

You say, 'I am a monk'

Klom Jysun says 'I am always pleased when a new disciple visits our sacred halls. If you are [interested] in crafting your own armor I have a number of gathering tasks for you to do that will test both your navigational and fighting skills.'

You say, 'I am interested in armor'

Klom Jysun says 'I am very pleased to here about your interest in proving your worth to the Ashen Order. First let me present you with this Fistfighters Loom. Inside of it you will combine [various components] to form armor materials. Once you have a material for a certain piece of armor you will combine it in a Loom along with the appropriate pattern. When you inform me what piece of armor you [want] to craft, I will be able to present you with the component recipe and pattern needed for crafting it.'

You say, 'What various components'

Klom Jysun says 'The items you will need to collect are all over the Freeport area, some in stores some off vicious monsters. If you are up for the challenge though I will be able to provide you with the armor recipes and patterns for Stonehand [Caps], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Sandals], [Trousers], [Gloves] and [Robes]. All you will need to do is tell me what piece of armor you [want] to craft, and I will be able to present you with the component recipe and pattern needed for crafting it.'

You say, 'I want to craft a bracer'

Klom Jysun says 'In the case that you are not able to dodge a blow from an attacker a solid wristband will prevent you from getting seriously hurt. To create your bracer material you will need to combine 1 Matted Lion Pelt, 2 Rat Ears, 1 Coyote Pelt and a Cloth Wristband in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a Loom along with this mold to fashion your very own Bracer of the Stonehand.'

Stonehand Sleeves
•Cloth Sleeves
•Lion Tail
•Matted Greater Cat Pelt
Klom Jysun says 'A monks body is a representation of all that he or she has worked so hard for. It would be a shame to see your body, especially your arms riddled with bruises. To create your sleeve material you will need to combine 2 Matted Lion Pelts, 2 Lion Tails, and Cloth Sleeves in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a Loom along with this mold to fashion your very own Sleeves of the Stonehand.'

Stonehand Bracer
• Cloth Wristband
• Coyote Pelt
• Matted Greater Cat Pelt
• Rat Ears
Klom Jysun says 'In the case that you are not able to dodge a blow from an attacker a solid wristband will prevent you from getting seriously hurt. To create your bracer material you will need to combine 1 Matted Lion Pelt, 2 Rat Ears, 1 Coyote Pelt and a Cloth Wristband in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a Loom along with this mold to fashion your very own Bracer of the Stonehand.'

Stonehand Cap
• Cloth Cap
• Malachite
• Matted Greater Cat Pelt
• Snake Scales
Klom Jysun says 'A cap will almost certainly be your most important piece of armor you will craft. To create your cap material you will need to combine 2 Matted Lion Pelts, 1 Malachite, 1 Snake Scale and a Cloth Cap in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a Loom along with this mold to fashion your very own Cap of the Stonehand.'

Stonehand Gloves
• Ale

• Giant Scarab Eye
• Matted Greater Cat Pelt
• Rat Whiskers
Klom Jysun says 'The gloves will assist you in hitting anything that might have some kind of magical barrier surrounding it preventing you from damaging it with your bare hands. To create your glove material you will need to combine 3 Matted Lion Pelts, 1 Giant Scarab Eye, 1 Rat Whisker, 1 Ale and 1 Armadillo Carapace in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a Loom along with this mold to fashion your very own Gloves of the Stonehand.'

I have several characters, and each of them has completed or is in the process of doing their respective class armor quest. They never fail. Never. They can raise the level of the particular skill used, but they don't fail. These are great quests for <10 characters, and I highly recommend all of them. =)

Pelts

I wish I had known that these things were needed early on cause I would have got xp off them while hunting....so far I dont have the bracers and from what I read it's gonna be awhile LOL

For those of you starting this quest....kill all the young pumas you can too cause you'll need the matted pelts 5 for the tunic 4 for the legs 3 for the cap I believe 3 for the gloves also...you're gonna need a lot and the merchants dont have many for sale...I found 2 all day.
Coyote Pelts
# Aug 10 2002 at 11:57 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, I spent a loooong time hunting those sobs, and yes there is something called a "coyote pelt" that drops off of them, but it's a rare drop and there aren't that many coyotes. For matters of keeping one's self sane, I also hunt the spiders in that area so as to bring up my sewing abilities
. After all, I really don't think I'd want to get the parts, then fail to sew it together. I got the first bracer, and it was actually the FIRST piece I got, namely 'cus most lions are white or yellow to me still, making it a little hard to get the matted lion pelts. The REALLY hard part for me was finding the stinkin loom, it's on the second floor of a building next to the one you can get leather armor at in East Freeport. I think that building is also next to a bar, if that helps at all. The people down below mostly sell alchoholic beverages. I had to go through almost every single building to find it, it was almost the last building I looked in, lucky me >=(. Now I have to hunt those coyotes all over again just to get my second pelt... this is gonna stink.

Ok, for a set of two bracers I believe I had to kill like 300 of the bleeping coyote's,for a newbie quest this was a major pain. Now, I am not one of those people that believe that quest should be easy. But I want them to be both fun and challanging. This was neither, it was only mind numbing BORING. I almost decided not to do this after the 200 or so kill, but I decided I had to see it through. But spending 2 real days playing time, killing a level 2 or so gritter was very annoying. I've got all the armor but the robes, and this was by far the hardest (due to frustration). Ok, now I'm done venting. But man this was annoying.

Is it a 'coyote pelt'? I have tried ruined, low quality, med quality and none work. These seem to be all I can find. I have all the other items, that was time consuming, except this one. Please help! These items are great! I just need my two bracers.

Looms
# Jul 15 2002 at 12:22 AM Rating: Good
Okay ..this should clear up everything. When you hail the guy get every single "Enchanted" pattern you can get. After that you should say I want to craft < something > then Klom Jysun will tell you what you need. You get a Fistfighters kit. 10.00 pounds. You combine everything in there. After that you dont stack stackable items be sure of that. DO not leave the pattern in there or it wont work. It will say after you combine it (ea)"Bracer material " or something like that, after that you combine it in a Loom OR a sewing kit, you do not need any skills. Hope this helps

For those that don't have a sewing kit in your inventory......you can find a Loom on the second floor of Velithe & Bardo's Imported Goods in East Freeport. When you left click on it, it opens up as "Large Sewing Kit."

Its seems that after the June 12th, 2002 patch I can no longer find the required pelts off of the coyote and jackals in NRo. Before I was finding them every 3rd kill with my ranger. If I had known what the things were for I'd have horded them up since it appears the quest is now broken.

===Update : June 13th, 2002===

Getting no reply from GMs (usual for my server, you get used to it) on the status of this quest I decided to waste a night camping coyote in hopes of a drop. Well, after camping NRo for four hours I finally had a 'coyote pelt' drop. Thats -> 4 <- hours!!! Omg, if I weren't camping it with my ranger (tracking 200) I probably would have never found the pelt to begin with. At first I though this would be a nice way to get some no drop armor so I dont have to worry about player killers (im on RZ), but after receiving the bracer I have formulated a new conclusion : Worst.....Quest.....Ever. Don't waste you time with this one, folks.

Thank you and good day.

who do you combind all 5 items in a small sewing kit?
RE:Loom???
# Jun 06 2002 at 11:25 PM Rating: Default
Read the directions. You combine the ingredients in the box Klom Jysun gives you, then you take the object you create and combine it with the pattern. You only need two slots for that, so a small sewing kit works fine

This one as well as the cap won't combine for me, any ideas on what could be going wrong please?
RE: No Dice?
# May 12 2002 at 11:08 PM Rating: Decent
I don't know if you are having the same problem as I did with my gnome. I was trying to use a SMALL cloth item. IAfter checking that I had right ingrediants and still getting DNC, I ran to Kelethin, bought a normal cloth item and viola, it worked. Hope this helps ya.
RE: No Dice?
# May 11 2002 at 8:34 PM Rating: Good
I didn't have any luck with the cap either, but the bracer worked. Be sure and not stack the 2 rat ears. And don't put the pattern in the box. Once you combine you will get a pelt that you combine with the pattern at a loom or in a sewing kit to get the bracer. The ingredients I used were - 1 matted lion pelt off of the woodland lions and lionesses - 2 rat ears (not stacked) of the large rats just outside the gate - 1 coyote pelt found this off the coyotes in Northern desert of ro. They seemed to stay close to the zone area. and - 1 cloth wristband (be sure this is a normal cloth wristband and not a small cloth wristband) Got this at the emporium near the bank.

I agree - you need to have it fit your race i believe. I am a human monk and a small cloth cap would not fit me. I used a "cloth cap" and it worked fine. Not the greatest cap though - lumberjack cap is better and would prolly cost less then the time hunting for all the pieces.
Worth it ?

My monk is wearing Wu's gear. Is this stonehand stuff better, or should I not waste my time?

Wu ways less so you can get the bonus ac but stonehand gives you some plus to stamina. It is just a matter of opinion.

Even though it does not say Lore, it is.
Tried to make another bracer and received the 'Cannot equip duplicate Lore items'.
This also for my Wiz and his bracer.

This bracer is NOT lore. You can wear two and keep as many back ups in your vault as you like. 8)
