This quest is for good aligned gnome clerics.
You say, 'Hail, Iony Gredlong' Iony Gredlong says 'It is very nice to meet you Gearsword. I am Iony Gredlong Priestess of the Underfoot. I coordinate all the training for new clerics here in the Deep Musing. If you are a [cleric] then I might just have some tests for you that will challenge your wisdom as well as your fighting abilitys.' You say, 'I am a cleric' Iony Gredlong says 'Well you would certainly be eligible for my training then young Gearsword. I have a number of armor recipes that I give to young clerics to make sure that when they leave the comfort of the Steamfont Mountains they are ready for whatever battles they may face. If you are [interested in creating your own armor] then all you must do is simply ask and I will give you instructions to get started.' You say, 'I am interested in creating my own armor' Iony Gredlong says 'I am always happy to see an eager young one like yourself! Brell certainly takes pride in all young gnomes that draw power from him to give life so you should consider yourself very special. To create your own armor you are going to collect [various items] from Ak`Anon and Steamfont. You will then combine them in this assembly kit. Once you have made a material you will place it in a forge along with molds that I will present to you to create your armor.' You say, 'what are the various items?' Iony Gredlong says 'There are numerous items that you will need to collect and combine in your kit. I will present you for the recipe for Shortnoble Platemail [Helms], [Bracers], [Armguards], [Boots], [Greaves], [Gauntlets] and [Breastplates]. When you are ready to attempt a specific piece please let me know what piece you wish to [craft] and I will give you the necessary mold along with the recipe.' You say, 'I want to craft gauntlets' Iony Gredlong says 'Keeping your hands well protected is very important while you are in training. To create your gauntlets material you will need to combine 3 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 1 Yellow Reculse Silk, 1 Brownie Brain, and 2 Mountain Lion Claws in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Shortnoble Platemail Gauntlets.' | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I think this quest is broken. The claws don't drop.

I'm probably never going to get these. The mountain lion claws are rare.

They are hard to find, but they do drop off the small mountains lions. the best hunting ground i found was right in between the druid stones and the kobold camp. in the vally.

I can confirm that these do now drop from Small Mountain Lions. Best place I found was to the west where the valley is near the Druid ring. Just kill everything in the valley and the small mountain lion will spawn. The claw doesn't drop everytime, but it does drop.

I'm trying to complete the newbie armor quest for my gnome cleric, but cannot find the Mountain Lion Claw for the Gauntlets anywhere. Can anyone help with this please ?

Could you like maybe specify where you found the claws? I've been killing cats for days now and haven't had ONE drop yet.

Posted: Jul 16 2002 at 7:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I've found a couple of those claws. I also found claws on a merchant and since it's not no drop I bought it there (it was before I had my second dropped claws). Hope it helps.

I've killed literally hundreds of mountain lions no claws yet... anyone found these
