This quest is for good aligned casters.

Xalirilan Zarinokosalio says 'Oi there! Its nice to meet you Celebus, you must excuse me for I am currently working on a special spell for my studies. I would love to talk but I have to teach a class very soon to the new [initiates] and I don't have my lesson prepared yet. Are you also a [young initiate of the Eldritch Collective]? If you are then I hope you will be ready for the lesson.'

You say, 'I am a young Initiate of the Eldritch Collective'

Xalirilan Zarinokosalio says 'Excellent. You must understand that I am very pressed for time but if you are a young initiate of the Collective then I always have time to share my knowledge with you. If you are interested I have some [training] for you to begin. These tasks will help you prepare for the upcoming lesson as well!'

You say, 'what training?'

Xalirilan Zarinokosalio says 'I have a number of tasks that I ask new recruits of the Eldritch Collective to complete. These task will test both your ability to fight as well as your navigational skills, 2 very important factors on your road to infinite knowledge. When you are ready to begin your journeys I will present you with a Tinkered Sewing Kit that you will use to gather numerous [important components].'

You say, 'what are the important components?'

Xalirilan Zarinokosalio says 'All right then Celebus, here is your Tinkered Sewing Kit. In this sewing kit you will combine a number of recipes that will be used for creating your Eldritch Collective Initiate Armor. When you are ready to craft a certain armor piece all you must to is tell me which piece you [want] to craft. I will then present you with the component recipe along with the applicable pattern for [Caps], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Sandals], [Trousers], [Gloves] and [Robes]. When you have completed the material for whatever piece you asked for you will combine it in a sewing kit with the appropriate pattern to fashion your armor piece. I do suggest though that you attempt your robe last as the components are more difficult then any other piece to collect.'

You say, 'I want to craft a cap'

Xalirilan Zarinokosalio says 'A true initiate of the Eldritch Collective must always have a trusty cap on to protect any blows to the head. To create your cap material you will need to combine 2 Grikbar Kobold Scalps, 1 Mountain Lion Pelt, 1 Wolf Meat and a Cloth Cap in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a sewing kit along with this pattern to fashion your very own Cap of the Collective Initiate.'

You receive an Enchanted Cap Pattern.

hello, you can do this on combine now,
OK now you need to put in your thinkerer sewing kit, ONLY those items:
2 Grikbar Kobold Scalps, 1 Mountain Lion Pelt, 1 Wolf Meat then hit combine, you will get a cap of the collective material, then you need to use a regular sewing kit and put in it the collective material and the cloth cap and hit combine, and voila you have your cap. i hope the rest of the quest is not that complicated have fun

I did the quest by combining the needed items without the cap pattern in the tinkered sewing kit. (the cap does indeed need to be a simple "cloth cap") This produced a "cap of the collective material". I then had to take the material along with the cap pattern and combine them in a regular sewing kit, the tinkered sewing kit would not work with the last part.

There is a vendor in the first building in the middle of Lake Ak'Anon that sells the medium cloth cap.

The regular sewing kit is at a vendor on the left side of the lake as you face the waterfall.

I haven't tried any of the other classes quests yet, but for a mage, this one is one of the harder newbie armor quests. The ingredients are simple to figure out. The only problem is Coyotes are rare, wolves in GFay are rare, whne killing a Coyote, you usually do not get wolf meat. So it's hard to find. i was lucky to find a high Elf who had some.
Mountain lion pelts
# May 18 2002 at 8:35 PM Rating: Default
I killed over a dozen Mountain lions, and i haven't seen a ML pelt yet. They don't seem to drop anything at all really, maybe a ruined whatnot occasionally. Is it just a fairly rare drop, or should i try hitting up the small mountain lions?

Could it be because i'm agnostic?

In the 12 days that this quest has been around, I've collected about a dozen Mountain Lions Pelts. It's just a matter of being at the right place at the right time I guess - friend of mine never saw Clockwork Rat Back Plates until last night.

Broken?
# May 10 2002 at 12:14 PM Rating: Decent
Got all the ingredients: 2 Gribkor Kobold Scalps (placed in separate slots), 1 Mountain Lion Pelt, 1 Wolf Meat, and a Small Cloth Cap (can't wear the "Cloth Cap"). But when I try to combine them it says that I cannot combine in this container type. Here's what I've tried:

All ingredients (no cap pattern) in both large and tinkered sewing kit as well as all (including cap pattern) in both kits.

Then I went and tried it again after buying a point in Tailoring skill.

So is this meeding to be "fixed" or am I missing something?

What you're missing is that you have to use a cloth cap. Not a small cloth cap.... a cloth cap... as in medium sized cloth cap. I know it doesn't make sense, but then again, neither does little bald men running around casting spells.
Wolf meat drop

Fairly sure wolf meat can drop from coyotes (maybe not young coyotes, though).

Where are all the wolves gone? I know there are wolves in Gfay but they seem to be rare to find, I'm not in the mood to run to BB to get the boat to go to EC to kill a wolf for its meat. anyone have any luck with this?
