Thekela Meepup says 'It is a pleasure to meet you Geannun. I am Thekela Meepup, one of the highest ranking Clerics in all of Rivervale. I pride myself on being the mentor for all of the furryfooted that are called upon by Bristlebane to give life. If you are a [Cleric] I might have some training for you to complete if you so wish. ' You say, 'I am a Cleric' Thekela Meepup says 'Geannun the Templar. Well I suppose that does have quite a nice ring to it don't you say? If you stick with your training perhaps this could be what you are referred to one day. Before that day though, you have a lot to learn and a lot of training ahead of you! Do you want to [begin your training] at this time? ' You say, 'I want to begin my training' Thekela Meepup says 'Excellent! I will give you a variety of items to collect and combine in this magical assembly kit to create a material that you will use to craft armor. My hope is that as you gather these items you will learn about your home and how to navigate around the surrounding areas of the Vale. If you are ready to begin your adventure I will present you with your Magical Mail Assembly Kit and the instructions for collecting the necessary items to craft your armor. Are you [ready to receive your Magical Mail Assembly Kit]? ' You say, 'I am ready to receive my Magical Mail Assembly Kit' Thekela Meepup says 'Here you are Geannun. Take this mail assembly kit, it is what you will use to combine the different items necessary to craft your own Platemail of the Stoutdeacon. Different combinations of items will be required from both our town and the hunting grounds in the thicket to create materials for specific armor pieces with Crude Iron Ore being the basis for all of your armor materials. When you are ready to receive a recipe for a specific material simply tell me what armor piece you [want] to craft. I will then supply you with the mold and recipe for Stoutdeacon Platemail [Helms], [Bracers], [Boots], [Armguards], [Greaves], [Gloves] and [Breastplates]. ' You say, 'I want to craft greaves' Thekela Meepup says 'Not a bad idea to get some pants on Geannun. Although we are halflings and we have no real need for shoes, pants on the other hand are a definite must. To create the material necessary to craft your greaves gather 4 Bricks of Crude Iron Ore, 2 Large Yellowjacket Tergites, 2 Deathfist Slashed Belt and 1 Bottle of Kalish then combine the finished product in a forge with this mold to fashion your Legplates of the Stoutdeacon. I got hooked into the cleric armor quest by the relative ease of acquiring the other pieces. However, the Large Yellow Jacket Tergite has definitely been the hardest quest item for me to find. I've got one tergite now; the final tergite will complete the suit.
I've killed about 20 large yellowjackets and havent seen any tergites what-so-ever.... Is it just me or is something really messed up going on?

i have killed 3 Large yellowjackets, and they drop giant wasp item..............oh this quest is driving me insane.......is verant F#$%ing with us??

Does it have to be large yellow jacket tergites or can u use giant jacket tergites?

Yes, it has to be the 'large' variety.
I misread the quest at first and thought that it was giant yellowjacket tergites and spent a week hunting them til I finally had two and then tried to combine and ARGH!
At first I thought the quest was fubarred, but then I went back and reread the ingredients. Now, I am having trouble finding hardly any large yellowjackets and those rare ones I do find aren't dropping them.
Anybody know how to make them spawn more frequently?

Kalish is also dropped from goblin warriors picked up 2 bottles today.

To think I almost passed up this fun. I started these quests to replace a couple of crap items. Then I thought why not do all of it?
I know now why not!!!
First, the "Undamaged" Mossy Rat Pelt, then the 2 plain old Thorn Drakeling Scales and now the Large Yellowjacket Tergites!!!!
I have found one and I am still hunting the last. The weapon is nice though for a low level.

Can anyone answer this question? I can't find the Kalish either. I've checked everyone in the Fool's Gold. Please help.

You have to either BRew it or buy it from a Brewer. Made someones day by paying a plat for one. I am sure he probably would have given to me though.

Since my last post on May 5, 2002, I am still looking for the Tergite dropped by those elusive LYJ's. I have been working a theory if anyone wants to help prove it. Seems like I see more spawns when I destroy all Bixie's I see. Anyone confirm this? I am on the MT server. You see a cute little halfling named Tunnonu, say hello

my GF's rogue walked out from rivervale, and straight into a wandering LYJ, killed it and looted a tergite, not knowing what it was for. As she approavhed the wall, two drakes appeared, aggroed her, and one droped the thorn drakeling scale that everyone also looks for.
Now she needs one more scale, and i need two tergites. Its So annoying to no she has one that i can't have. Errrrrrrrgh!

I started an alt Halfling Ranger just to find these things... they are more rare than the drakelings, although I've had hours go by with none and then 2 or 3 pop very close to each other. They seem to share spawns with the thorn drakelings, but I'm not certain on that.
Hunted for three days almost straight, FINALLY a tergite drops for my ranger... and I get ninjalooted before I can get my cleric there...

I've been in Misty Thicket going on 3 weeks now... All I need to find are those darn large yellowjackets. It's insane the spawn rate of these mobs... and the worst part is that Blixkin runs around killing them. I absolutely despise that halfling. Well, if you are in Misty, on the Rathe, say hello to a Cleric that will probably be hunting there until the end of time.

Well, I finally completed my armor. greaves were the last piece i needed.IMHO, LYJ Tergites are harder to find than any other item needed. Thorn drakeling scales are a walk in the park in comparison. Now, for the weapon (The gorge scares me =) )

Actually the Large Yellowjackets are almost a rare a spawn as the elusive Thorn Drakeling. I have one Large Yellowjacket Tergite...am hunting the last.

The quest calls for large yellow jacket tergites but only giant are available as there are no large yellow jackets in Misty. Only giant....Waiting for a fix..

Sorry...simply untrue.
Large LJ's are on the lower level side of the wall...Rivervale entrance side...Giant ones are beyond the wall.
