You say, 'Hail, Talorial D`Estalian'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'On what grounds do you think you are welcome to address me like that vermin? I am afraid you will have to prove yourself to me before I can treat you with any respect. Do you feel that you are [worthy] to stand before me? '

You say, 'I feel I am worthy'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'Very well then, you are lucky that I have been looking for some sort of an apprentice to help me out in gathering some hides from those nasty halflings. I did have a young one as yourself working for me before but unfortunately they didn't work out as you can see by looking at this autopsy table. I would hope that you will complete my [tasks], for your sake. '

You say, 'What tasks?'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'If you are willing to [gather some items] that are needed for specific halfling hides I can offer you with the resources necessary to fashion your own armor. '

You say, 'Gather some items?'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'Excellent Vinamar. Please take this Old Enchanted Tailors Kit. It contains magical power that is able to fashion specific components into a magical version of whatever the core material is. If you are a Necromancer you will need to gather halfling hides that have been infused with many different elements that you will collect and combine in this box. Simply tell me what pattern you [want] and I will present you with the recipe necessary for [Gloves], [Robe], [Trousers], [Sleeves], [Skullcap], [Bracers] and [slippers]. I would recommend you fashion your Robe last due to the difficulty and complex nature that is involved with finding the items necessary. '

For the gloves you need 3 Matted Halfling Hides, 2 Snake Eggs, 2 Spiderling Silks, and 1 Cask (vendor bought).

Combine them in the Old Enchanted Box to make an Infused Halfling Glove Hide.

Ask Talorial for [gloves pattern] and receive an Enchanted Gloves Pattern.

Combine the Hide and the Pattern in a loom to get your new gloves!

I finally got all the items and the pattern from Talorial and now I've combined the enchanted hide and the pattern in a small sewing kit but it tells me "I do not meet the all the requirements". Im a lvl 11 necro with 20 in tailoring. Any clue why this will not work?

I Created This
# Sep 23 2002 at 3:33 PM Rating: Decent
Hey Folks,
Just created these with my alt necro, and I wanted to give some details on the process, because there were a few things I didn't know until I did it. First thing is Talorial's location. He is all the way upstairs in the Lodge of the Dead, in the little room/hall right off Noxhil's room. Next thing is how to actually create them. You start the text with him, and the conversation progresses. At one point, you have to say "Gather some items". At this time, you get the enchanted box for combining the items. You put this box in your inventory and then continue the conversation. When you get to the point where he mentions what can be made, you just say "I want the <item name> pattern". At this time you will get the pattern from him. Please note that the sandals have to be called slippers, or vice versa (whatever he mentions, you say the opposite). Once you get the pattern from him, you are done with him (until you make the next piece). Once you have everything from him, combine all items needed, EXCEPT FOR THE PATTERN, in the box. Make sure nothing is stacked, and get it all in there and hit combine. Once you do this, you will then get an infused halfling hide. At this point, you are done with the box. This is where people were having a problem I believe. Now you need to find a loom to finish the process. Unfortunately, I could not find a loom in Neriak. A helpful tailor told me that a sewing kit works the same way though. I went to the Dashing Form in Neriak Commons and bought a small sewing kit (two slot) for a few gold. I then placed the infused halfling hide in there with the pattern, hit combine, and I now have my Unholy Silk item. I hope this clears up any ambiguity for anyone.

Go to the Newbie Log!!!
# May 27 2002 at 6:05 PM Rating: Default
I play on the Luclin server and there is a log near the path that is referred to as the Newbie Log. Maybe all of the servers use this term, maybe not. Anyway, near this log is a stump surrounded by halflings, just over the hill from the log. The best place to ambush these little guys is from the log. They come singularly mostly but sometimes one after the other. Take 'em down. You can also try taking on the stump denizens but that's not reccomended. If you wait on the log you might have to wait a few minutes between each visit. There are usually others doing the same as you so be careful so you don't get accused of KS'ing. The cask is bought in town, the spiderling silks from the spiderlings. Matted Halfling Hides=Halfling Hides

I was wondering if anyone would like to tell and/or give up some halfling skins? I got everything else but I can not find the skins.

Are the only type of halfling hides matted hides, or are there other kinds you need for the quests?
Armor item locations..
# Apr 02 2002 at 11:18 PM Rating: Excellent
I've made all the pieces of the necro armor. You can find them on my character, Zuhimx on Rallos Zex. Here's what i've found people get stuck on:

-Don't STACK items
-Glove requires 2 eggs not 1
-NO skill is needed to combine enfused hide+pattern using a loom or sewing kit (both work just fine)
-YOu need matted halfing hides which come off leatherfoots located on the path, north of newbie log..if you can't get a group to kill em all there is a scout that pops a bit away from the main group that you can pull and one that walks aruond the path directly next to the halfling stump
-Say what sandals instead of what slippers to get robe (MAKE sure he's selected and you are NOT invis)
-Halfing toes come off of halfling skeletons in Ultircle, it's right next to Lavastorm Entrance, you'll have to kill about a zillon of em though.
-Bambo is in foreign quarter with a female halfling bartender
-Cask is in Commons next to bank -in the BLind Fish
-YOu need spiderling silks, not spider silks..it comes off of the low level spiders (small ones)
-Black wolf pelts come off black wolfs, make sure you don't try and use a shadow wolf pelt
-Bear meat comes off bears (try around same area as leatherfoots, should't take long)
-Snake eggs come off all snakes, bettle legs/eyes come off all those bettles you see EVERYWHRE
-Bone chips come of ANY skeleton
-Making hide: Put all the pieces for the pattern EXCEPET pattern in enchanted box, DO NOT STACK, hit combine, then usign sewing kit or loom, put your enfused hide and pattern and hit combine..ta dAHH!! graphics are a bit funky on a few of the items.
-Embalming dust comes off of lesser mummies and rotting citizens..i'd go to south ro though and get it from mumies there..more common drop or you can buy it usually from the merhcant in from of SK guild in grobb for 1 plat.
-QUEST is well worth doing, items are no drop, +int and hp..and ac, not bad for level..i'd spdn the time doing it. (started when i was lv 8, lot easir at 12 though)
-They guy you need to talk to is on the TOP level of the necro guild tucked away around a corner next to a bunch of desks ..i think that's what they are. (his name is all over the posts and guide)
-Deathfist scalps come off of scouts along with belt..prepare to spend a LONNNNNNG time getting these. Find them between the bridge halfing stump (that's a bit much, but i've found em that far south before)
-The necklaces off of leatherfoots are useless..for cleric quest.

Hope that helps. Took me about 2 days of 9 hour play times to complete the whole thing. WEll worth it..also, sold a COMPLTE set of enfused hides which are NOT no drop for 219 plat..not bad for level 15 necro :P

Talorial D'Estalian is at the very top of the Necro guild in the 3rd Gate of Neriak. To get the pattern say "what want <pattern>" where <pattern> is gloves, robe, trousers, sleeves, skullcap, bracer and sandals (not slippers).

When he gives you the pattern, he tells you the items you need to collect and cobine in the Old Enchanted Box. Do not put the pattern in the box when you combine and do not stack the items.

what want gloves
3 Halfling Hides, 2 Snake Eggs, 2 Spiderling Sliks and a Cask

what want robe
4 Halfling Hides, 1 Black Wolf Pelt, 2 Embalming Dusts, 1 Halfling Toe, 1 Bear Meat and 1 Fish Wine

what want trousers
4 Halfling Hides, 2 Bone Chips, 3 Spiderling Silks and 1 Raw Bamboo. The bamboo can be bought in town.

what want sleeves
3 Halfling Hides, 1 Fire Beetle Leg, 4 Bone Chips and 2 bandages.

what want skullcap
1 Halfling Hide, 2 Deathfist Scouts Scalp and a bottle of Red Wine

what want bracer
1 Halfling Hide, 1 Deathfist Scouts Scalp, 1 Snake Egg

what want sandals
2 Halfling Hides, 2 Fire Beetle Eyes and 2 Malachites

I have made the gloves already. I used the loom in the Neriak Foreign Quarter in the Silk Underground (135, -187) but a sewing kit should work just as well. Be warned that this will require some minimal amount of tailoring skill. I recommend at least combining spider silks until you can no longer advance and possibly also making patchwork armor. The Halfing Hides are the Matted Halfing Hide that drop from the group of halflings standing around the stump in Nektulos Forrest (1015, 560). The other halflings in the zone do not drop the hides.

That is all.

RE: All the info
# Mar 30 2002 at 10:22 PM Rating: Default
Sorry, but are you sure that "That is all" ...

It is well known that:

1) The bracer recipe need two (2) Snake Eggs to work...

2) The Infused hide made with the Sandals recipe can't combine with the Sandals Pattern, BUT the hide made with the Sleeves Recipe combined with the Sandals pattern gives you a nice pair of boots..

Those two issues may be fixed in time, but they ain't fixed yet...

3) Where do you have that info regarding the taloring skills ???
I have personally made all of the Unholy Silk Armor, except for the Robe (can't find that dang Halfling Toe) and have absolutely null = zip in taloring...!!!

And there may be more... ;-)

Well, I've tried talkin to whatshisname bout this quest, and I try to ask em bout the patterns, but nothin I say causes him to give me anythin much less SAY anything. Yeah, I've said like, "What Gloves, I want the Gloves pattern," etc, and still nothing... even tried it without the 's' nothing still... grr
# Mar 25 2002 at 10:43 PM Rating: Default
So the secret is NOT to stack the items, which I was doing. Can't wait now to try it this way. Will let you know if it works. I have no trouble getting pattern, just couldn't get the items to combine in the box. Now maybe I know the secret, thanks to good people who help, hehe.
the goods on gloves
# Mar 25 2002 at 10:26 PM Rating: Default
To get pattern say "what gloves?"

Get three halfling hides, two snake eggs, two spiderling silks and a cask, put all in box you get and dont stack them...combine and you get new hide...slap that in tailoring kit with pattern and combine and bada bing ya got it. I had NO TAILORING skill at all and it worked. Hope this helps.

this accually works?
# Mar 24 2002 at 5:35 PM Rating: Default
I keep trying to do this quest, but the Talorial D'Estalian still hasn't given me the pattern. I say "I want the pattern for the gloves" and nothing happens. It's making me very annoyed.

Thanks for the help, but alas (sigh), it didn't work. What am I doing wrong. He gave me an Old Enchanter's Box, instead of an Old Enchanter's Tailors Kit. Would this make a difference? I tried to do the quest over, asking again for the gloves, but that wouldn't work either. Tried doing the sleeve quest, combined all the stuff, but it didn't work either. Seems to me I must be doing something wrong, any ideas would sure be helpful. Thanks
RE: Holy armor-gloves
# Mar 24 2002 at 5:05 AM Rating: Default
Hmmm. I've just done this and it works ok...

1) It is correct that you get an Old Enchanter's Box.
2) When you combine REMEBER that the items must NOT be stacked. For the gloves here, you have 3 Mattered Halfling Hides, 2 Snake Egg's, 2 Spiderling Silk and one Cask = makes 9 items = 9 out of the 10 small room is occupied...

Sorry if this is too basic, but soo many peoble last nigt was having trouble with those quest, and nearly all had just put the stacked item into the Old Enchanter's Box, and then it won't work.

The Infused Halfling hide that is teh result of the combine have to be combined with the matching
Enhanced Patteren in a Loom or Sewing Kit.

Good Luck - Have fun

I tried making the gloves too, I had all the items *got the cask* but they wouldn't combine.

Also...the robe requires a halfling toe *nobody has gotten a toe..only foot bone* I tried to combine with the foot..and nada. I got the arms *look like legs* and the legs * that look like gloves.* hope this helps

# Mar 23 2002 at 5:03 AM Rating: Default
I am working on the new Unholy Silk Armor quest and its got me goin nuts. i have all the items asked for to make a bracer or a skullcap BUT!
it wonlt let me combine the items in the enchanted box! i think its cause i have to "prepare the matted halfling scalps on a loom" how do i do that?
RE: Necro Lost, help
# Mar 23 2002 at 7:41 AM Rating: Default
You prepare the hides by combining them with the correct miscellaneous items in the special 10 slot box that you are given when you start the quest. Then you take the prepared hide and combine it with the pattern that the NPC gives you, and you combine those two items in a loom or sewing kit. Personally, I just bought the small 2 slot sewing kit from one of the merchants.

The 10 slot box that you are given at the beginning of the quest is NOT a sewing kit. But darn it makes a nice bank container, I do hope we get to keep it in the end.

Please help! I have all the stuff for the gloves, including cask. Now what do I do? What do I use the cask for? If you know, would you please tell me what to do, in the order you are suppose to do it. Many thanks to a new untwinked newbie.
