You say, 'Hail, Talorial D`Estalian'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'On what grounds do you think you are welcome to address me like that vermin? I am afraid you will have to prove yourself to me before I can treat you with any respect. Do you feel that you are [worthy] to stand before me? '

You say, 'I feel I am worthy'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'Very well then, you are lucky that I have been looking for some sort of an apprentice to help me out in gathering some hides from those nasty halflings. I did have a young one as yourself working for me before but unfortunately they didn't work out as you can see by looking at this autopsy table. I would hope that you will complete my [tasks], for your sake. '

You say, 'What tasks?'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'If you are willing to [gather some items] that are needed for specific halfling hides I can offer you with the resources necessary to fashion your own armor. '

You say, 'Gather some items?'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'Excellent Vinamar. Please take this Old Enchanted Tailors Kit. It contains magical power that is able to fashion specific components into a magical version of whatever the core material is. If you are a Necromancer you will need to gather halfling hides that have been infused with many different elements that you will collect and combine in this box. Simply tell me what pattern you [want] and I will present you with the recipe necessary for [Gloves], [Robe], [Trousers], [Sleeves], [Skullcap], [Bracers] and [slippers]. I would recommend you fashion your Robe last due to the difficulty and complex nature that is involved with finding the items necessary. '

You say, 'I want the Sleeves pattern'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'If you wish to fashion together your own Unholy Silk Sleeves you will need to gather 3 Halfling Hides, 1 Fire Beetle Leg, 4 Bone Chips and 2 bandages. Once you have collected these items combine them in the Old Enchanted box to fashion your Infused halfling hide. Return to me when you are ready for the Sleeve Pattern. '

figured out how to combine

for those of you having problems combining all 10 Items, make sure you use the bandage without the asterick. Simply buy 2 bandages, do not use the one you have when you started your character.

I Created This

Hey Folks,
Just created these with my alt necro, and I wanted to give some details on the process, because there were a few things I didn't know until I did it. First thing is Talorial's location. He is all the way upstairs in the Lodge of the Dead, in the little room/hall right off Noxhil's room. Next thing is how to actually create them. You start the text with him, and the conversation progresses. At one point, you have to say "Gather some items". At this time, you get the enchanted box for combining the items. You put this box in your inventory and then continue the conversation. When you get to the point where he mentions what can be made, you just say "I want the <item name> pattern". At this time you will get the pattern from him. Please note that the sandals have to be called slippers, or vice versa (whatever he mentions, you say the opposite). Once you get the pattern from him, you are done with him (until you make the next piece). Once you have everything from him, combine all items needed, EXCEPT FOR THE PATTERN, in the box. Make sure nothing is stacked, and get it all in there and hit combine. Once you do this, you will then get an infused halfling hide. At this point, you are done with the box. This is where people were having a problem I believe. Now you need to find a loom to finish the process. Unfortunately, I could not find a loom in Neriak. A helpful tailor told me that a sewing kit works the same way though. I went to the Dashing Form in Neriak Commons and bought a small sewing kit (two slot) for a few gold. I then placed the infused halfling hide in there with the pattern, hit combine, and I now have my Unholy Silk item. I hope this clears up any ambiguity for anyone.
sleeves not working

i am having trouble combining items on this quest. I have all 10 of the items, but it says I can't combine them. could it be because I bought the fire beetle leg instead of looting it off a corpse. Any help will be appreciated.
Not working...

I tried combining the components to make the Infused Halfling Hide for the sleeves, but it said I couldnt combine it in this container type. I have all 10 items, checked many times and I have it all. And yeah, did it in that Magical Box thing you get from Talorial.

So, thanks again everyone :)

No, no XP. I did the gloves today and it is just like combining anything for a tradeskill. All you recieve is the item.

I've finished all but the robe and tome. The sandals pattern is bugged and work with the sleeves recipe not the sandals recipe.
I am still looking for a Halfling Toe. Any confirmed drops?

It's been a while since the above post, but for anyone just now reading this, I found matted halfling hides and halfling toes on the same mobs - the halflings near the newbie log (Captain, Sargeant, Corpral, Scouts). I got almost as many toes as I did hides.
combining items.

once you mix the stuff in the box..buy a sewing kit. You combing the pattern with the magic hide in the kit to make the armor......i made trousers but they're gloves * but say trousers*

looks odd to have gloves in pants slot. haha

i've tried this quest.... and all you get is the infused halfling sleeve hide.... when i asked 'where can i get the patterns for the Unholy Silk Armor?'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'There is the Royal Furrier which carries leather armor or you can find a couple of shops in the Commons Quarter. '

so i assumed that meant i could use a regular pattern to create my sleeves.... but when i tried a regular pattern in the old enchanted sewing kit, delux sewing kit and small sewing kit they wouldn't combine....

oh the halfling hides they want come from the leatherfoot scouts, corporals, sergeants, anmd captain.... and they are called matted halfling hide
RE: incomplete? NO it isnt...

You have just not listened carefull enough to what Talorian D'Estalian told you when you got the pattern.:

Talorial D`Estalian says 'If you wish to fashion together your own Unholy Silk Sleeves you will need to gather 3 Halfling Hides, 1 Fire Beetle Leg, 4 Bone Chips and 2 bandages. Once you have collected these items combine them in the Old Enchanted box to fashion your Infused halfling hide. Please make sure that you have prepared the correct halfling hide before you approach a loom with the pattern I have given you. '

Take the Infused Halfling Hide and the pattern to a Loom - the nearest loom is located at Mordant & Jasma Tather in Neriak Foreign Quater.

The stats for the sleeves are : AC 3, INT+2, HP+3

- the graphic is from a pair of trousers though ;-) - proberly a minor bug...

Have a Nice day,
Nenriu Necromancer of 5 Deaths.

Could someone please shed some more light on where this loom is? I can't find Mordant & Jasma Tather anywhere in Neriak Foreign Quarter, nor can I find a loom anywhere.

There is a loom in the "Silk Underground" shop.
It is located close to the Tabern/Inn in the Foreign Quarter.

# Mar 21 2002 at 1:42 PM Rating: Default
If you read the information above, rather than just posting, you would see that the phrase to get the sleeve pattern is "I want the sleeve pattern". not too complex to deduce, and even easier if you just read it.
RE: incomplete?

well every time i said i want the sleeves pattern... or anything for anything with sleeves, gloves robe etc.... i got the recipe needed for the infused hides..... i wonder if they might have fixed it during the patch last nigh? or did you get them before last nights patch?

and yes i did say 'i want the sleeves pattern'

oh and i did bring the pattern and infused hide to the loom in foreign quarters..... and still didn't work... i'll try it again tonight....

EDIT: i just went back and asked what sleeves.... and i got my pattern for the sleeves armor... so i guess my reporting the bug that i couldn't get the patterns fot the unholy silk armor paid off.... you now get the pattern when you get recipe for the infused hides :) so it wasn't incomplete just bugged... heh my lvl 21 necro can use some of this armor... same ac as my raw silk but with stats...
