You say, 'Hail, Talorial D`Estalian'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'On what grounds do you think you are welcome to address me like that vermin? I am afraid you will have to prove yourself to me before I can treat you with any respect. Do you feel that you are [worthy] to stand before me? '

You say, 'I feel I am worthy'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'Very well then, you are lucky that I have been looking for some sort of an apprentice to help me out in gathering some hides from those nasty halflings. I did have a young one as yourself working for me before but unfortunately they didn't work out as you can see by looking at this autopsy table. I would hope that you will complete my [tasks], for your sake. '

You say, 'What tasks?'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'If you are willing to [gather some items] that are needed for specific halfling hides I can offer you with the resources necessary to fashion your own armor. '

You say, 'Gather some items?'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'Excellent Vinamar. Please take this Old Enchanted Tailors Kit. It contains magical power that is able to fashion specific components into a magical version of whatever the core material is. If you are a Necromancer you will need to gather halfling hides that have been infused with many different elements that you will collect and combine in this box. Simply tell me what pattern you [want] and I will present you with the recipe necessary for [Gloves], [Robe], [Trousers], [Sleeves], [Skullcap], [Bracers] and [slippers]. I would recommend you fashion your Robe last due to the difficulty and complex nature that is involved with finding the items necessary. '

You say, 'I want the Trousers pattern'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'To make your own Unholy Silk Trousers you will need to collect many items in the forest along with a few in town. The halfling hide that you will need along with a pattern to craft together these Trousers will need to be infused with 4 Halfling Hides, 2 Bone Chips, 3 Spiderling Silks and 1 Raw Bamboo. All of these items will be collected in the field with the exception of the Raw Bamboo which can be bought in town. '

The Loom
# Aug 23 2003 at 11:59 PM Rating: Decent
~ The loom is located in the Silk-er-ma-jiggy with the human merchants. I believe in Neriak Commons? Bah! The middle zone- building by a fountain. It's there. I will update this when I log. But the loom exists! I know because I was there. ~

No texture

I just did this quest about 30 mins ago, and when I took off my necro's robe, there was no leather textured pants, just the normal velvet bikini-hangie-down-thingy. My sandals look like leather boots, but that's it. :(

I was *so* hoping for leather pants.

That just bites. I just wish they would give all items some kind of look other than newbie nothing.

I Created This
# Sep 23 2002 at 3:30 PM Rating: Decent
Hey Folks,
Just created these with my alt necro, and I wanted to give some details on the process, because there were a few things I didn't know until I did it. First thing is Talorial's location. He is all the way upstairs in the Lodge of the Dead, in the little room/hall right off Noxhil's room. Next thing is how to actually create them. You start the text with him, and the conversation progresses. At one point, you have to say "Gather some items". At this time, you get the enchanted box for combining the items. You put this box in your inventory and then continue the conversation. When you get to the point where he mentions what can be made, you just say "I want the <item name> pattern". At this time you will get the pattern from him. Please note that the sandals have to be called slippers, or vice versa (whatever he mentions, you say the opposite). Once you get the pattern from him, you are done with him (until you make the next piece). Once you have everything from him, combine all items needed, EXCEPT FOR THE PATTERN, in the box. Make sure nothing is stacked, and get it all in there and hit combine. Once you do this, you will then get an infused halfling hide. At this point, you are done with the box. This is where people were having a problem I believe. Now you need to find a loom to finish the process. Unfortunately, I could not find a loom in Neriak. A helpful tailor told me that a sewing kit works the same way though. I went to the Dashing Form in Neriak Commons and bought a small sewing kit (two slot) for a few gold. I then placed the infused halfling hide in there with the pattern, hit combine, and I now have my Unholy Silk item. I hope this clears up any ambiguity for anyone.

Pattern Problems
# May 05 2002 at 12:36 AM Rating: Default
Every time I try to get the pattern for anything, nothing happens.
What is wrong. I've said " I want the pattern for the *item*." but nothing happens.

I've been trying for 2 days toget this done.

Does anyone know exactly what is needed to be said to get the pattern from the guy?
Also what do I need with me to get the pattern?

# May 05 2002 at 7:13 AM Rating: Default
Just say 'what trousers' and you will get it the pattern. This is the same for most of the others also. The slippers one is wrong, you need to say 'what sandals' and for the bracers way 'what bracer'. Hope that helps.
Trousers Pic is Corrected

I made the Trousers last nite. They have the correct legs look. They look like Raw Hide Legs graphic and when worn have a dark greenish look to them.

Looked everywhere for it. Wasn't at the halfling bar, or any other bar, or where i could buy fishing poles. Pretty tired of running around, but at least I learned my way around.

I bought the bamboo from the guy who was in the basement of slugs tavern in the foriegn quarter. The Halfling female to the left of him as you enter the lower level also had them for sale.

I have a new charactor who is a DE necro, he is Eavalaye. Say hi to him if you see him on Saryrn.

RE: halfling toes
# May 02 2002 at 8:41 AM Rating: Default
I think the toes have been fixed, I have seen a couple of them now. I found them at the Halfling Stump (#10 on the Nek forrest map from EQ Atlas) Just use caution there are quite a few halflings there.

You can get them from the Leatherfoot Sergent at the Halfing stump.

You can most likely get them off any of the halflings there near the stump. I dropped a scout with toes, footbone, hide, and an ulma. Boney lil ******* he was...

I think that they're halfling foot bones, because i've never seen toes, but have seen foot bones.

What is Wrong?
# Apr 04 2002 at 6:33 AM Rating: Default

I got 4 Matted Halfling Hides, 2 bone chips, 3 spiderling silks, and 1 raw bamboo shoot. I put them all in the box and it doesn't work. I tried it with the pattern and without. What am I doing wrong?

The items have to be unstacked. If they are unstacked then you will fill up all ten spaces of the container thus leaving no room for the pattern, which is good cause it doesn't go in there anyway. Then you combine them and take the resulting object (I think it's an enchanted hide of some sort) and place it in a sewing kit or loom along with the pattern. Then you combine that. Voila!

How to get the patterns!
# Apr 02 2002 at 6:47 AM Rating: Default
Ok guys,
If you want this quest to work the way that it should, you need to say "What Trousers?" then he'll give you the pattern. If you say "I want trousers pattern" you'll get a big fat nothing :p .... also they messed the trousers & the arms up .. they got the looks of the items backwords ... you'll be wearing your pants on your arms & your arms on your legs .... looks funny but still does the job.
new necro quest
# Mar 25 2002 at 2:46 PM Rating: Default
ok i have infused hides for most of the parts i need but he will NOT give me the patterns. when i ask for patterns he just gives me the recipes for the infused hides, HOW DO I GET THE PATTERNS. Also i cannot make the infused hide for the bracer, the recipe calls for 1 halfling hide, 1 deathfist scout scalp and one snake egg. I did this but i get the message...you cannot combine these items. All the others where ok, what gives?
This quest sure seems buggy
RE: new necro quest
# Mar 27 2002 at 11:10 AM Rating: Default
Just say what trousers, etc. Slippers text is wrong and you have to ask fro sandals. Also the slippers reciped does not work with the pattern, but the sleevs does.
Still looking for a halfling toe. I think this drop is broken, but please post in Gown if you find one.

The Bracer recipe is somewhat wrong at the moment...

Use two (2) Snake Egg's then it works Ok :-)

Good Luck.
