You say, 'Hail, Talorial D`Estalian'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'On what grounds do you think you are welcome to address me like that vermin? I am afraid you will have to prove yourself to me before I can treat you with any respect. Do you feel that you are [worthy] to stand before me? '

You say, 'I feel I am worthy'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'Very well then, you are lucky that I have been looking for some sort of an apprentice to help me out in gathering some hides from those nasty halflings. I did have a young one as yourself working for me before but unfortunately they didn't work out as you can see by looking at this autopsy table. I would hope that you will complete my [tasks], for your sake. '

You say, 'What tasks?'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'If you are willing to [gather some items] that are needed for specific halfling hides I can offer you with the resources necessary to fashion your own armor. '

You say, 'Gather some items?'

Talorial D`Estalian says 'Excellent Vinamar. Please take this Old Enchanted Tailors Kit. It contains magical power that is able to fashion specific components into a magical version of whatever the core material is. If you are a Necromancer you will need to gather halfling hides that have been infused with many different elements that you will collect and combine in this box. Simply tell me what pattern you [want] and I will present you with the recipe necessary for [Gloves], [Robe], [Trousers], [Sleeves], [Skullcap], [Bracers] and [slippers]. I would recommend you fashion your Robe last due to the difficulty and complex nature that is involved with finding the items necessary. '

You say, 'I want the Robe pattern'
Talorial D`Estalian says 'Your Unholy Silk Gown is your most important and symbolic item you that will be able to craft on your own. I would recommend that you have already gone through the steps of crafting your other pieces before your Gown. If you think that you are ready you will need to collect 4 Halfling Hides, 1 Black Wolf Pelt, 2 Embalming Dusts, 1 Halfling Toe, 1 Bear Meat and 1 Fish Wine. Combine all of these in your box to create the Infused hide used with the Robe pattern to fashion your Gown. '

Howdy,
You can actually get this quest on the Fippy server and the 10 slot container so that is probably at least worth a bank bag. I went out and got the 10 items for the robe quest and was even able to combine them into the 'infused halfling hide robe', but when I tried to combine that with the robe pattern, I got a wrong container message. :-p It was worth a try -

Nektulos dust
# Sep 09 2004 at 4:02 PM Rating: Decent
Just a note... zombies and lesser mummies sometimes spawn at the stone in the extreme southeast of Nektulos forest. But I've yet to find embalming dust on any of them. Seems odd you'd have to go to N Ro for this one, as it's a DE newbie quest, but oh well

Large sewing kit works
# Jun 18 2003 at 12:21 PM Rating: Decent
Large sewing kit is all I've used for tailoring stuff, even these Unholy items. It's a tad expensive, but worth it since you'll never have to try and track down the loom in a new city.
This is not Slippers, but Sandals

The text on this has changed to sandals rather than slippers.
Small sewing kit
# Dec 03 2002 at 3:20 PM Rating: Decent
I used a small sewing kit on the sleeves and pants. Not sure if Large kit works. Small kit costs about 8gp. If you can't afford that look for a loom. It looks like a wooden square with cloth over it. Click on loom and put pattern and infused hide in and combine. Hope that helps

Names
# Nov 20 2002 at 3:50 PM Rating: Decent
Just a little info about the names of the quest pieces. Halfling hides are same thing as Matted halfling hides, black wolf pelt, same thing as Black wolf skin. Bear meat, not chunk of meat. Drop off black bears and young kodiaks, halfling hides and toes drop off leatherfoot scouts that roam near the newbie log. Black wolf skin, uncommon drop off black wolfs. Not sure if they drop off shadow wolfs. Wouldn't think so though.Embalmming dust drops off lesser mummies, been told in nro. But you can buy them off vendors in nro by the barbarian vendors. Just shout in the zone for someone to get them for you if your kos. Hope this helps. After getting the infused halfling robe, what do you do with it? Thanks.

Thank you Takata...your post helped me a lot with the question of "Matted Halfling Hide" vs. just "Halfling Hide" and the "Black Wolf Skin" vs. "Black Wolf Pelt". Thank you very much.

To answer your question, after you combine the ingredients in the enchanted box you receive the infused halfling robe pelt or something like that. You combine that in a loom or sewing kit with the robe pattern to receive the Unholy Silk Gown.

Luck.
Halfing Hides

What kind of halfing drops the halfing hides?
No not the no drop matted ones. I have tried the stump and the two camps and can't get them to drop. Are they no drops like the matted?

It clearly says HALFLING hides...where do you get the idea you need to kill Orcs for these?
Go kill Halflings...they smell funny, and dont belong in our forest anyway
orc scout scalps
# Jun 22 2002 at 2:20 PM Rating: Default
i think it buggied i tryed killing orcs for two days now and yes the scouts have yet to see on scalp drop. i am going to try and use the pawn scalps and see if they work i hope so they are like 1000000x easer to find and most the time you get a scalp:)
can you fail?
# Jun 10 2002 at 8:05 PM Rating: Default
ok do you need a certain amount in sewing skill to make this stuff? or does it always work.. i ask because of the claw quest for the Vah shir
RE: can you fail?
# Jun 12 2002 at 12:14 AM Rating: Decent
I was also wondering this as I just started my little Necro. I dont see anything that says you need tailoring skill so I am assuming that you dont. Needless to say this will be one of the last items I try for the Unholy garments. :)
RE: can you fail?
# Jul 01 2002 at 9:23 AM Rating: Decent
You may have the answer to this already...

In my experiences, I have seen NO failures and have actually received skillups.

I have completed a full suit of the Freeport CLR/PAL armor, half a suit of the Neriak CLR armor, and a full suit of the Ak'Anon MAG armor with zero failures and a few skillups in Tailoring or Smithing depending on the class in question of course.

I'm not saying you can't fail. I'm just saying I didn't fail in all those pieces. If I were guessing I'd say they are no fail combines.

Best of luck to you.

Confusion!
# Jun 10 2002 at 10:47 AM Rating: Default
Hey is a Black wolf pelt the same as a black wolf skin? cause i have never seen a black wolf pet just skins
RE: Confusion!
# Jul 03 2002 at 12:24 PM Rating: Decent
No the pelts are not the same as the skins, I tried last night with the skin and it said I could not combine these items in this container type :( Since I have searched for 3 days for this pelt and I have yet to see one in Nektulos, I am going to start searching elsewhere. EC maybe? I might also try a shadow wolf pelt. One of the good things I have noticed about this quest is that if you dont have the right stuff to combine, it doesnt eat all your ingredients. Also FYI I have used the big Loom (sewing kit) in the silk place in neriak.
RE: Confusion!
# Jul 16 2002 at 11:29 PM Rating: Default
BLACK WOLF SKINS WORK! After reading these posts and hunting for hours for a "pelt" I decided to try a skin and it worked! I think the person who tried it before must have not had the correct components, like maybe a chunk of meat instead of bear meat or maybe the wrong wine. Anyway just wanted to let those of you I did make a robe with the skin not a pelt.
the dust
# Jun 05 2002 at 7:18 AM Rating: Default
enbalming dust is a common drop off the shriveled mummies and crypt mummies in the oasis someone there usually has some or you can try the one vendor there that does sell to dark elves
Embalming Dust!!
# May 27 2002 at 6:14 PM Rating: Default
Okay, I tried for days to get this drop from the undead. Finally I started making the rounds of all the vendors that I could buy from in Neriak and the tunnel in EC and the one or two in NRO. This act of frustration proved to be the quickest way to get the dust. The other stuff was relatively easy to get (except those darn Deathfist Scouts, but that's another post).

Try the Dark Elf vendors in the tents in S. Ro if you can get there.

Dust
# May 24 2002 at 10:36 PM Rating: Default
Initially the toe drops were broken. Verant fixed that a few patches ago so check the date of the post. May have been prepatch. I picked up 2 today!

Embalming dust can be found sometimes on Shriveled Mummies in North Ro.

Good luck!

RE: Embalming dust
# May 27 2002 at 5:38 AM Rating: Decent
lesser mummys and shriveled mummmies, your better off going to ro to get these, common drop there
halfling toes
# May 14 2002 at 3:28 PM Rating: Default
I keep reading posts about those halfing toes. I don't know if its some kind of bug for you people, but i got 4 toes easily by killing halfings around the halfing stump in nektulos.
