In Acrulia Caverns there is a Ring of Torches. Stepping into this ring of torches will start a spawn cycle which gets progressively harder as the spawns progress.

When a person enters the ring, a number of untargetable, unnamed Grimlings will appear around the room, and a Grimling Warder will appear in the hallway to the room. None of these Grimlings can be targetted or attacked.

The purpose of the Grimling Warder is stop being from entering or exiting the room. If you try to pass the warder when he is up, he will port you to a pit of Lava in the Dungeon. Your entire raid force needs to be in the room from the start to the finish.

The grimlings will summon undead type monsters on a progressing level of difficulty. Every 20 Minutes, a boss monster will appear, and then the quest will get more difficult than the ring before.

If your party or raiding force leaves the ring, the quest will reset, ending spawns and making you start again at the beginning.

The first round is two (warrior) possessed corpses every 2 Minutes. Then a possessed battlelord will appear as the boss.

The second round is two (warrior/shadowknight) possessed corpses every 1.5 Minutes. A possessed battlemaster will mark the next round.

The third round is two (warrior/shadowknight) possessed corpses every 1 minute. A Possessed Warmonger is the boss.

The 4th round is three possessed corpses every minute, A Possessed Warlord is the boss, who can drop significant loot. He flurries and has quite a few more HP than the previous bosses.

The 5th round has level 55 possessed corpses which cannot be mesmerized or stunned. Two to three of them will appear every 45 to 60 seconds.

The first three rings can be done by a group for XP. It's reccommended to have a raiding party handy to go past the 4th boss.

The ring of fire was removed from Acrylia in the zone update of April 2003, although it remains active on the Al'Kabor server.

Need all dialogues, faction hits if any, fight info, additional rewards, etc.

I've read the posts about the 5th and 6th bosses, is the 6th boss teh last one and then everyone gets to rest or is the 6th one the one everyone decided to stop on and everyone got out of the ring?

Some guilds have stayed up to the 7th boss. The only problem is, at the moment, that the 6th and 7th bosses seem to have the same loot tables as the 5th, so the reward for the difficulty isn't very great (not that these items aren't uber - they are). It's mainly a tradeoff between the long time to get from start of event to 5th boss and difficulty of chaining the additional bosses.

The loot on the 6th and 7th bosses are the same. In fact it's the same mob. I have not seen past the 7th. It's not an easy fight (much like Statue of Rallos Zek) and you can't fit a lot of people in there. Bosses spawn every 20 minutes. So you basically have to kill a Statue of Rallos Zek with around 36 people in under 20 minutes, while at the same time dealing with each wave of 4 mobs every 3 minutes. Then have enough time to med up and rebuff before the next boss spawns. It's pretty hard to do. To get multiple top tier loot like that back to back is very much worth it, for as long as you can keep up.

Hmmm.... Reading all the posts so far on the items that drop from the higher boss mobs and the items themselves (WOW!), I would say that the risks would be bearable, considering that they do drop something and you'll be very busy fighting all the time, which to me, means fun! However, to all/all items, any class would benefit from them, and risk/reward should be based upon the guild/raid leader and overall merit system or some such, agree'd upon by all prior to raid event(or quest). Well, the most important thing: Have Fun, after all this is a game!

The drops off each boss are varible. We had drop in the following order, a bow, mask, scimitar, and can't remember the last item we got before getting wiped out. definitly a fun endeavor. We suggest lots of pet classes, shaman, and enchanters, and lots of tanks.

Also very wise to break up into several assist groups.

we just tried to kill 5th boss yesterday with 26 ppls but no shammy =(
He is red to me(lvl 60) and has high magic resist, and can drain 20k hp.....
All our melee were down one by one,

2,3,4 boss dropped boots, bracer, earring
bracer is ac 8, wis 5 int 5 str 5 agi 10 hp 25 svcold 5 fire 5 all all , and earring is wis 3 int 3 ac 3 EB effect all all
all no drop items

bring your shammy and try that

As being a wizard i want to know if those possesed mobs can be hit by pointblank AoE without affecting the summoners..
Dit anybody have tried this out ?

Note. The summoners cant be targetted
