Anyone else have problems with the Rhinobeetles? BLUE ones are killing me (quickly).

After completing the Citizenship quest with the Warrior guildmaster, he sends you to show Khala Dun Hebijeb your slate. Hebijeb is standing at the entrance to the Arena.
High Armsman Trukanah says, 'Congratulations _____! Welcome to your new life as an official citizen of Shar Vahl. This cloak symbollizes your commitment to serving this people through continuous self-improvement. For now, you must strengthen yourself until you become worthy to train in the way of the Khala Dun. Show your acrylia slate to Guard Hebijeb. He will direct you further. May the spirits of our ancestors be your guide.' You say, 'Hail, Khala Dun Hebijeb' Khala Dun Hebijeb says, 'Well met, friend. May I be of assistance?' Hand him the Acrylia Slate of Shar Vahl. Khala Dun Hebijeb says, 'I was told to expect you, _____. It is my duty to supervise this stage of your training, which will help strengthen you in preparation for your life of service to our people. There is much to do in very little time so let us begin. There are creatures that roam freely at the base of the rock on which we live. You are tasked with demonstrating a basic understanding of combat by defeating skeletons of grimlings and delivering to me four of their femurs.' He sends you to collect four femurs from grimling skeletons in the pit. Upon returning with 4 femurs, Khala Dun Hebijeb looks at you with an expression of approval, 'Your completion of the assigned task has been noted. Accept this weapon as a token of the Khala Dun's gratitude. You will find the Khala Dun to be very generous to its humble students, quick to reward obedience. I have been notified that one of our citizens needs some assistance, bring me proof that you have aided Dronqam Runghi.' He hands you a Crude Bone Short Sword. Dronqam Runghi is in the courtyard before the Palace, in the left corner when you enter (he's not in a building). Saying to Dronqam, "I seek work" gets you this reply: Dronqam Runghi says 'Excellent! I practice the art of alchemy and I am currently working on some new recipes. I require a few special ingredients. Fortunately they grow in the crater just outside our city walls. Bring me a redcapped mushroom, a pinch of scarlet moss and a bluecapped mushroom. I'll be most grateful.' -Head to south gate and cross the bridge. On the opposite side of the bridge crawl down the wall into the pit below the bridge at loc -1175.20, 142.99, -187.62. Here you will find the ingredients. They pop in certain places on the ground in different intervals but I found most redcapped mushrooms to be near the bridge and most bluecapped mushrooms and pinch of scarlet mosses to be on the opposite side of the pit (run around until you find the north bridge). --Redcapped Mushroom loc -738.71, -526.87, -361.62 and will be a red dot --Bluecapped Mushroom loc 593.95, -735.14, -356.65 and will be a blue dot --Pinch of Scarlet Moss loc 936.04, -86.53, -355.62 and will be a black dot Dronqam Runghi says 'Wonderful! I have little to offer you for your trouble aside from my gratitude. Here is a pinch of acrylia dust. I know it's not much. If you have no need for it go to Mignah, he can always use all kinds of acrylia. Taking the dust to Hebijib. Khala Dun Hebijeb takes the acrylia dust and places it in a vial already half full of the metal, 'You are nearly finished with the task at hand, Chmyr. I now need you to begin your training in the art of blacksmithing, an essential aspect of the life of the Khala Dun. Combine this mold with three metal bits and a flask of water to fashion a buckler frame. When this is done bring it to me with the Crude Bone Short Sword and your initiate's cloak. Trivial is 21. Success gets you a buckler frame which looks like a circlet. Giving the buckler frame, initiate's cloak and Crude Bone Short Sword to Hebijeb gets you this reply. Khala Dun Hebijeb says 'Your progress pleases our order young one, and I am proud to promote you to the rank of recruit within the Khala Dun. Wear this cloak with pride, Chmyr. I have completed your buckler as well as enhanced your sword. The blade will now be more effective when used against the skeletons from which it was constructed. Show the buckler to Armsman Khaigesh and he will instruct you further.' Khala Dun Hebijeb shouts 'Fellow citizens of Shar Vahl, help me welcome Chmyr to the rank of recruit in the honorable Khala Dun. Yes, the rhino beetles are very serious undercons. Get another level or two and try again.

Your not kidding about them being a serious undercon. I did knotice one thing though, the yellow and whites ones are easier to deal with then the blue ones.

Blue toe mushrooms are in the entrance of paludual caverns 2nd patch of white mushrooms.
Fatty owl meat = owlbear cubs easy to kill at 22 solo.
Red hopper ale = Sharvahl
Grinning grimling ale is sold in Kata and shadowhaven.

The Dufil mushrooms spawn in 4 spots when you enter the Paludal Caverns from the Shadeweaver's Thicket side. The Blue Toe Mushrooms spawn in three spots when you enter the caverns from the Hollowshade Moor side. The first spot is the second clump of white mushrooms. Spots 2 and 3 are in the next tunnel to right, just sneak around high up on the wall to get past Phlargs.

What happens if you fail the buckler frame attempt? Do you lose the mold, or is it given back? I don't have 21 in smithing yet, and don't want to do the mushrom/mold hunt again...

I found that the next part after collecting the nuggets is to collect the rough ore that the same Rhinobeetles drop.You will need it to make bolts for Noril Galoon.He is located across a catwalk
from the Generals office.It's on the second floor.You know you are close when you see the honor guard at top of stairs.Blacksmithing is used to make the bolts.One ore and water and the set of files that he gives you just for this part make a bolt.Get your smithing up abit first though as it is not trivial at 52 skill. I am going to work on banded here for a few points and try again.Once you get 8 bolts,combine them in the bag Noril gave you and hand the bag and your shield to him.

Which beetles? In Shar Vahl OR Hollowshade? I have killed tons of beetles in the pit and i have yet to see any nuggets. And how do I crack open the shells? Any help on this would be appreciated!

It's the beetles in Hollowshade Moor. You should collect both the Acrylia nuggets and the piece of ore(looks like metal bits) that they drop. You'll need them for the next quest.

I killed about 20 to 40 mix of Sonic wolf, normal, pups and wolflings.
I got Sonic Wolf Paws on pups (No drop stackable)
Some other drops: SW Molar, Tongue, Blood, Youg Sonic Wold Jaw mainly on wolflings
All no drop but some stackable.
I tried to combine 4 Sonic Wolf Paws in the Worn Work Sack and had the : Doesnt Combine in tht Type of Container"

I tried the same items , no go on my server either. I petitioned, spoke to a guide, who spoke with a gm, they both said they had no knowledge the quest was broken. I am still suprised that it doesnt work with "Sonic Wolf Paw" thats exactly what he asks for. Has anyone tried turning in the bag full without hitting combine? Just a thought.

I went top and bottom over Shar Val, but I couldn't find him. Is he in Shadeweavers or Hollowshade by chance?
Noril Galoon is a top of a building up the 2 forges and the supply sergeant north part of city

For some reason when I turned in my cloak after the last quest I did, they didnt give it back to me. How do I get another one? Do I have to start all over because that would suck. The last cloak I had was the one with the blacksmithing modifier on it. I think I gave it to the guy who asked for the rim (or whatever it was you had to smith). Can anyone give me some advice?

Rockhopper Ale + Grinning Grimling: are bought by vendors. (BUT) i couldnt find them in the cat city maybe i overlooked it. I found them in Katta and picked up some.
Bring combined grocery bag back to friaz, and recieve a bag of beetle horns. Bring beetle horns to Noril. Recieve your buckler back with stats something like 6/29 piercing 7 ac (not positive but close to that).
Bring Buckler, sword, and cloak to armsman khaigesh and your cloak will get an upgrade, you will become an apprentice (i think hehe im tired been up all night), didnt notice any change to the sword.
Now bring Buckler to gaurd Kuash, he is located by the gate before the bridge to the moor zone. recieve bag to collect 4 sonic wolf paws. havnt found any yet, good luck!!

Sonic wolves can be found in Hallowshade Moor. Watch out, they have like 1300HP.

Ok, I just spent a couple hours in PC and I got almost a full stack of those blue mushrooms from the patches of white mushrooms. Problem is they are all Dufril's mushrooms. they dont combine in the bag. Could you shed a little more light on where or how to get these blue toe mushrooms?
I also searched everywhere for grinning grimling, none to be found anywhere safe, I had to hire someone to retrieve it from far off Katta Castellum.

OK the blue toe mushrooms are easily available from the MOOR side entrance, NOT the Shadeweaver Thicket side entrance.... do NOT waste your time there (unless leveling) picking up the Dufils mushrooms... they are NOT the same

I found my two mushrooms off the second mushroom patch coming in from Hollowshade Moor. Never had to go near an aggro mob.
Also, I did the Hollow-Grimling Forest-Tenebrous-Katta run. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Just hug the zone line and watch out.

Can anyone find the grinning grimling elsewhere than Katta? The run there would be nasty with my vah shir and I suspect my iksar is KOS

I got everything except the bottle of grinning grimling. Asking NPCs about it doesn't yield results and no bottle after some grimling killing in hollowshade. I think I will try random brewing recipe for it.

This seems to be a rare drop off the owl bear cubs. I got the 4 pieces I needed in about 12 - 16 cubs.

After combining the ore bag, you return the bag and recieve. Leather Wrapped Short Sword.
This is a minor improvement over the
Skeleton Bane Short Sword.

Blue Toe Mushrooms are a ground spawn in the caves.
RedHopper Ale can be bought from bar venders inside Shar Vahl.
Have not yet found fatty owl bear meat unless this is a general catch all reference to Owl Bear Meat.
Grinning Grimling -No Clue.. Imagine it is a dropped item from Griminlings within the Hollow zone.

FYI I tried the buckler frame mold with a smithing skill of 32 and it was NOT trivial. I actually succeeded on the first try however so I'm guessing its trivial close to that.

Those ground spawns in the first part are driving me nuts. In about six hours of looking all I've found is the redcapped mushroom.

They spawn in the P-something Caverns zone off of the Moor. Chech the little patches/circles of white shrooms, and there should be a blue one in there to pick up.
Mobs are the Grey hoppy mushroom monsters, the underbulk model mobs, the thri-krin model mobs, and close to the Shadownhaven side of the zone, bandits. O, and fish in the water.

after you get the nuggets you have to get the ore pieces. then you smith them into bolts trivial at 68 but not 51. but im stuck on the next part, you have to find blue toe mushrooms and bottle of ginning grimling and bottle of rock hopper ale and fatty owlbear meat. Has anyone seen blue Toe mushrooms around , i think they are not the ones in the pit..the blue Cap mushrooms. I have also not been able to find a bottle of grinning grimling.
Any help would be great.

This item might not necisarily be the best thing in the world, but with this quest and the armor quest out in the thicket i made lvl 10 in 2 days. Its just a good way to keep your self occupied :) if i was lvl 10 and a newbie i would wet my self over this :L)
