He has some specific books that i need to further my research, but i cannot take the time to travel so far away from my home to retrieve them. i have been doing some of the other quests, so my faction here was a little higher than base. i delivered the seal to dersino once, moved to apprehensive from dubious. did the quest 3 more times round trip from dersino to beriol and back, became indifferent with dersino. 3 more times to become amiable. 8 more times to become kindly.

Theres a simple way to fix the KOS problem in katta without having to kill vampires (coterie) in tenebrous.
It's pretty much in 2 steps..
step 1. Kill guards at the Sanctus Seru Zoneline in Merus Seru or Kill guards at Netherbian Lair zoneline in Merus Seru.
(these guards will give you better faction in Katta Castellum)
It will take a while and you'll eventually become KOS in Sanctus Seru, and to the guards....but that's easy to fix.
Step 2. Go to Mons Letalis and go to the Shiknar/Thought Leeches caves and kill the thought leeches. They give faction to all the Sanctus Seru Factions, and quite good faction with them too. After 2 or 3 hours of killing the thought leeches you should be at or near Ally Status.

I have a guidebook on Luclin, and pretty much most of these quests are ONLY to raise faction, since shadow haven is apprehensive to many. Besides, why would you expect a reward from THESE people? They live in caverns inside the bowels of a moon =)

You can raise your faction in Katta by killing coterie vamps in Tenebrous mountains. I'm up to amiable now, but that's after a lot of vamps.

kill the guards "Hand of Seru" for faction with Validus Custodus, and Magus Congelium... if he is on house of midst faction, there are several you can do in shadowhaven to get this up

Ok if this is for lvl 1 - 60 but alls i see is lvl 40 and above doing this quest and the zones it covers if you are not lvl 40+ you are running for your life but usally ends in Death. why not fix this to say lvl 40-60 then not lvl 1-60

What the hell you talking about? Everyone knows how to get through the zones. It's the stupid mobs that pop on you from nowhere and the ones with huge aggro ranges that provide the problem.
You could be up on a wall with sow on but it's not gonna help you too much when that one mob that got too close pulls a huge train down on you.

ROFL, I got a full suit to Guardian armor for my pladin when he was lvl 3, that armor comes from velious, i didn't die once, so running to Shadow Haven to Katta would be a cake walk if you know what you are doing.

My 31st level Wizard completed this quest easily. I started the quest, then went to Katta Castelium. I used invis and levitate to get all the way to Tenebrous Mountains, and Lesser Evac'ed right to the Katta Castelium zone line. Once there, I entered the zone, cast bind, did the next part, cast Nexus Gate, completed the quest. I could do this several times, but all I get is faction. As far as I can tell, all of these spells are fairly low level.

Been doing this quest and now Im warmly. Only doing it to see if the offer other quest once i max faction. All the npcs in library in shadowhaven have nice staffs and was wondering if maybe its a quest if your faction is maxed or if there are any other really good quests for maxed faction.

Completed this quest a few days ago, no rewards other than faction. Was quite disappointing after finding my way through every zone (didn't want to use maps for the adventure of it).

How do you raise Katta faction? Dying to do some of the quests in there but so KOS....
I've heard you can get faction with Katta by killing Vampires in the Tenebrous Mountains...not sure though. And I've heard the vampires are quite nasty...
OK, if you follow Innoruuk, Cazic Thule, or Bertoxxulous, you'll most likely be KoS in Katta. My agnostic DE is dubious in Katta, but working very hard to fix that.
Dersino is in a room all by himself, and he's on Midst Faction, so he won't KoS you if you can start the quest.

so as a troll beastlord (cazic-thule), i must gain better faction with katta simply so that i can gain better faction with house of midst and traders of the haven..and i also need to gain faction with katta to do another quest which i'd also only be doing to gain faction.../sigh guess its not called everquest for nothing, but reward could be something better than simply better merchant prices for tracking through 3-4 zones, all of which i'd more than likely die quickly in..don't mean to make the people that love questing down, but then again, if u can do these level 40+ quests simply for faction, then u obviously have resources in which u need not worry about mobs killing u

You recieve a rune as the reward for this quest at least as a wizard I did. It is believed to be one of the two runes needed for the nexus portal spell.

I found all the Nexus spells in the Library. However when testing them I found that the Nexus spells ONLY work while on Luclin. So we still have to wait at the spires like everyone else.

how could the poster of this quest have been able to do it all, note each thing people say and ask for the whole quest and not sending the reward from it, witch is actualy the best and most important part of a quest?

Most of the quests in shadowhaven seem to be for faction, from what I have read on other sites, they have posted the reward for the quest, faction, XP and nothing else.
