Gots super lucky. After a couple nites campin em unsuccessfully I logged on to find em standin there under the thing that looks like a vendor tent. *TIP* pull em to the right (his left) when hes standing in the tent thingy. There is an oven and some boxes there. If you cant see a bandit from there, they wont aggro you. Snare or root em and save yer nukes till he runs. Walfredo, 20 Druid.

I recently did this quest as a 20 cleric. I know he has bout a seven hour spawn time, and boy did I luck out. Got on, a friendly warrior comes, and about 15 mins. after i start to camp him, he pops. Warrior wasted him, then let me get the book. Quest very worthwhile, you MUST do it if ya can have the time and patience.

For those not able to use the ToV, it says you can return it to Rarnan for some plat. My 51 level half elf wanderer easily completed this quest for fun. However, when I went to return the book to Rarnan, I did not have enough faction to gain any money. So beware before you return the book to Rarnan.

Ok I read about how to do this quest but I dindn't understand all things about it..so all ya have to do is kill some stuff and get pages from them and give it to sa guy in erudin and thats it you get the ToV? Please answer someone I really need an advice :)

I guess i was lucky, but i did this quest in 47 minutes.... i did not bother to go to erudin, i only looked for him in queynos north and found him there. After that i asked for the page 34. He said that i would have it if i won... i spent a lot of gold, then i put 40 silver as ante, and then i got a jester. After That i went right to High Pass Hold. Looked for him for a while, but i am not well known there... suddenly he pops up on track. My pulse turns 300 immediately. I find him, and follow him to the water... then i root, dot, and nuke him to death... did not get ant unwanted faction hits..... +10 wis... woot...

As stated here many times the spawn is right at 7 hours for Dyllin. This past Saturday, I logged into Morell-Thule server with my Level 18 Shaman. I was already camped in HighPass Hold as I had been fighting the orcs near the zone to Kithicor. On my way back from selling in the Keep, I decided to stroll into the camp to see if Dyllin was there or the place not camped. All previous attempts over the week someone was there. Low and behold, I went to the camp and there was Dyllin! Just Amazing I thought. I looked to make sure there were not any Smugglers around, rooted him, Dotted him and started blasting him... all of a sudden the red smuggler just happened to be coming back through... I tried to take out Dyllin but was unsucessful. I died. I was bound in the zone, memorized spells, came back in. Levitated. looted my corpse. Dyllin still there, not yet back to full health. Ran around in the air. blasting him over and over.. running around... finally I dropped him as I was killed again... came back, looted my corpse, his corpse, wallah! got the page. and the Testament of Vanear. I then logged in as my level 26 Cleric (also who was in HighKeep at the time.) And proceeded to camp Dyllin. 7 hours later, he popped and I had no issues taking him down. Someone did come to the zone and sat for like 3 hours. Afraid he was going to KS me, so had a high level guild mate come over to help me out. The guy left about 30 minutes before Dyllin popped, thankfully. Now both my characters, have the Testament of Vanear, all accomplished in one Saturday afternoon.! Yeah!

is there any point haveing good quenos faction for a woodelf ranger?? was planing to help a low lvl friend do this quest(i kill evrrything and pay for it he just loots ) should be easy for a lvl 30 lol

I just killed him on Solosek Ro, I read the previous comments, and Last night I got there just as someone had killed him. I camped, and logged back in 6 1/2 hours later ( I set my alarm, it was 5 am) and sure enough, he spawned on the 7 hour mark. I waited for a long while, eventually he started walking around, and like a previous poster said, I waited for him to go down to the water and that is where I nailed him. Didn't have to mess with the Red Smuggler at all. Boy was my heart pounding a million miles a second! Whew!

This is a great quest for anyone 16-21. The only dificult thing about this quest is Dylyn's spawn time. I found that the best thing to do is Camp the orcs in HP and whenever you go to sell check and see if he is there. The Orcs there are great exp from lvl 16-21, and prety decent loot. Another great thing about doing it this way is that if you don't think you can take him by yourself you can always ask the group to come help you. Pretty much any group will be willing to help you kill him depending on their faction needs. Once you have page thirty just run to Qeynos give moodoro 2 gp and get the book, play his game for 4gp till he gives you the jester. Give him back the jester and he gives you the other page. Combine and whala you have your Testiment of vanear. This is the most rewarding quest i've done, i leveled from 17-20, got a +10wis +10mana item out of it, a 30WR pack from named orc, a shiney brass idol from named orc, a shiney brass halberd from named orc, and at least 150pp from other loot at the orc camp and turning in orc scalps to captain ashlan. It did take me longer than it may have if i just camped dylyn, but i just love that orc camp if you are smart you will never die and loose exp because the zone is within 30 feet of the camp. I've kept my eye on this place for a few days. I just got the book last night & this is what I learned. 1. Don't plan doing this quest in just one day (Unless you have 6.5 hours to spare, a TV handy & pizza) 2. When you show up & somebody's camping (and trust me, it will be camped) ask them to tell you when they killed him so you can estimate when he's gonna show up again 3. Don't do it alone. The faction hits are pretty big for one person to take by themselves.

Also, Dyllin will eventually walk down the long entrance to the smugglers hideout to where the secret tunnel meets the water. That's where me & my partner killed him and guess what? Not one smuggler jumped in. Good hunting!

I go to Starshine all the Time and he is a Very Well Known Quest once there was 5 peopl waiting to kill him and they all took him down LOL then they Fough over it LOL

But it's always boring there, there is usually some one there

just finished this quest, should know that dyllin spawns once every 5 and a half hours, not too hard to kill if you harmony the sourrounding baddies. Then i went to qeynos and found the crow, took a few pp and i got the jester. The rumor that you can get the book from moodoro is true, just hand him 2gp and he will give it to ya.

Dyllin spawns exactly every 6hours and 45minutes in real time. Trust me, i was there for 3 spawns in a row, timed it perfectly. Soloed him at 17. And you can give 2gp to Moodoro for the book, it took me just under 5pp to get the page cause he kept handing me queens and beggars.
