We are missing one of our staffs and believe this person has it. Go to Highpass Hold and find this person. Return the High Guard battle staff to me!' I killed Sentinal Creot in Toxx the other day and received the staff that the stats fit, but it wasn't a High Guard Battlestaff, it was just a Battlestaff.

I took out this guy as a 21st level shaman, took most of my hits, but never in doubt. A brigand helped him, but the bandits did not.
As to Erudite faction, it's a pain in the neck to raise. Killing the diseased shark in the harbor and Elial Brook at the little dock that leads to Kerra both do it, but not quickly. Havn't tried, but bet that the Paniel Emmisary in Toxx would help alot.

Well, with the assistance of my 11th Bard Song, I got decent faction with just about any one I want, but Lumi wasn't buying, so I had to run the Peacekeeper Staff quest about 6 times. After that, with the song, he liked me fine, laid out the quest, and didn't give me the (mythical?) box.
From this, and what he said, I've concluded that, if there IS a box, it's given by some person in Highpass... Any thoughts?

Erm, wood elf ranger :) Fought Tallus Holton after he jumped me for no reason. Well . . . maybe I killed a couple bandits who wandered too far away and MAYBE I got too close to the camp . . . anyway, shoot an arrow or something only at him and he comes running with spells ready.
I got both sections of the staff and now need to finish the quest. Question is: HOW? How do I get faction with the Erudites, how do I get the box, how do I use these two staff segments?

Returning from an LD, I "awaken" on the bridge in EK, regain my bearings, and go back to medding. I hear battle sounds, but nothing disturbing, and then I hear "SOW plz" (also nothing new), so I stand up to see a little gnome with Tallus Holton in tow (gnome getting wailed on while he stands there, waiting for his SOW). "Hmm, that's strange," I think, but whatever...give him SOW thinking he's probably going to kite it, but then he turns around and zones. Oops. Tallus apparently took my buff as 'aid' and charged me. With the help of a bard nearby that ran an AE dmg song, and a heal from another druid that was sitting near, I managed to drop Tallus with relative ease (whicfh is good, because I started the battle with only 25% mana, and about 75% life). It's not like I started the quest, but after looting the pieces and assuming they were quest, it's sad to see the quest is broken. I'll go poke around and see if about the box.

The above people rate the middle parts of the quest, which aren't that hard. But I've tried several times to do this quest and don't get the container to put the staff parts in. Haven't tried since recent patches, but it's been broken a while, I think.

Im a level 15 druid. When i was grouped with a level 15 enchanter, I harmonied everyone, then the enchanter charmed Tallus (Very Fun). Tallus was able to take the whole camp, and when he was done he was low enough on HP that a couple nukes brought him down.

I don't think you need a group to kill Tallus Holton. True, he is tough and the other bandits are all casters (druids mostly, I think) but I soloed him with my 24th Druid and my 25th necro and none of the bandits helped him out. They will heal him, but if you pull him away from the camp they don't move from their spots.

I'm a 19th druid and didn't have much problem soloing him and his helpers. I charmed a dark stalker and sent it in then blasted and dotted Tallus. The DS killed a helper bandit, died, and then Tallus came after me, but by then he was so wounded he was slowly walking. I blasted him a few more times and he started walking away so I meleed him to death. Lost less than a bubble of health but used most of my mana (started at 60% though).

This is true, I considered the group of bandits with my 21 Shaman and they were all green except Tallus. I was able to take him with ease using DD and good mele.
