Legionnaire Kayn says 'You must have been speaking to Derron, a mightier cleric ye couldnt find. Except for Donal the Wise of course. So tell me are ye also a cleric like Derron?

You say, 'I am a cleric'

Legionnaire Kayn says 'Ah then you must want the mask, cloak, gauntlets, talisman, girdle, and hammer that I be holdin'.

You say, 'What about the gauntlets?'

Legionnaire Kayn says 'To get the gauntlets you must bring me a meteor jewel, a mark of piety, and a light etched opal.

RE: Gauntlets of the Black

Gauntlets of the Black may have more AC but only 4 more points. 4 AC will not make any difference when fighting a mob thats quading you for 500 points of damage. While the Gauntlets of the Black do have 1 more STR than these, the Gauntlets of Holy Rite are better. In my opinion.
Jewel drops for Twilight armor
# May 01 2002 at 5:57 AM Rating: Decent
Just to clear up some apparent confusion, I have found that the various jewels used in all Twilight armor quests are random drops from various mobs. They have dropped from mushrooms, wolves, zelniaks, and sambata in Dawnshroud. They do drop from mobs in other zones, but appear to be much rarer.

If you are after jewels, find something in Dawnshroud that will give you xp (don't expect any loot), and kill mass quantities.

The other items required drop from specific named mobs (Light stonegrabber, frenzied zelniak...etc)

Guants of the Black

Although the Gauntlets of the Holy Rite have a few extra stats I still think that the Guants of the Black are better, because for clerics most people go for AC and Wisdom, which the GoB have 15 AC compared to the 11 AC on the GoHR they still have the same Wisdom but GoB has more Ac. Sure these have other stats, but they don't matter that much. So in my opinion i think i'll stick with my GoB instead of going for these

While the Gauntlets of the Black have more STR and AC, they only have a mere 1 STR and 4 AC more. Which will not have much impact when a mob is quading you for 400 hp. So... In my opinion these are better. Besides they look better than the Gauntlets of the Black. =)
Gaunts of the Black

With these out I think that perhaps ( I say this b/c of the hardness of the quest =)that they will sell for about 1.5kpp, I say this b/c althought Gaunts of the balck sell for about 800pp and are fairly easy to get, these gaunts have a small resist on them but also have 3 wisdom on them (same as GoB)

Light Etched Opal
# Jan 19 2002 at 3:36 PM Rating: Decent
I was camping grimlings in Tenebrous mountains when i saw a spawn on track i had never seen in many long hours of camping, a Light sonic wolf (lt blue to 52). After sending him to the great plains in the sky he dropped one of these...a Light Etched Opal.
Mark of Piety

For the Mark of Piety try a Pious Sun Revenant in the Scarlet Desert. If anyone knows where to find the rest plz post.
Regarding the Mushrooms....
# Dec 27 2001 at 11:13 AM Rating: Default
Just a quick follow up warning...the 3 mushroom spawn just to the left of the Netherbian zone..(as your coming from Netherbian Lair) has 1 mushroom that is a dark blue con to a lvl 52 SK and the mushroom must be of SK class itself as it has a HT for between 300-400 (i don't recall exact amount) Easy fear kite of it since the other mushrooms are low level.

So far, I've seen 3 different types of shrooms spawn at the "high level" mushroom spot mentioned above. One is just a straight melee, with an occassional root spell. The second is indeed a SK with a 491 harm touch (I believe) who loves to try and fear you. The third type is VERY nasty. At 51, it conned dark blue but it's definitely an undercon. This one is a druid who constantly tries to root you, casts a wicked dot, and constantly heals itself. After nearly getting my butt handed to me by this one (had to zone) I watched a 60 ranger have a go at it and promptly got HIS butt handed to him in short time.

No wonder the 60 Ranger got killed, he is a Ranger afterall. My 52 Druid killed the same mob easily.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 10 2001 at 5:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Just thought I would try to inform some peeps about an item for this quest. Had a Sun Jewel drop off of a fungus mushroom in Dawnshroud Peaks. It identifies as a....you guessed it.... Sun Jewel.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 06 2002 at 11:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Then post this message under a quest that requires the sun jewel, dont plug it in unless its revelant to the quest discussed. Thank you!
