READ THIS QUEST CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU DO IT

This quest can NOT be done solo, some of the camps can be but, the turn in battles are too much for a single player.You will need a single group of at least 4 to complete this quest.The Shield is NOT No Drop. The quest can be MQed.

Go to Katta Castellum. Go up to the top of the castle to the main building and walk out on to the red carpet on the first floor turn left and go to Loc (neg 234, pos 161)last door on your right, you will find a NPC named Roshawna Rhorer.



You say 'Hail, Roshawna Rhorer'

Roshawna Rhorer says, 'A pleasure to speak with you! You appear to be a foreigner to Katta Castellum as well. I hope your reasons for visiting this noble city are more leisurely than my own. In addition to my normal duties as a Shar Vahl Emissary to Katta Castellum there is the issue of the [Tormented Vah Shir] in Tenebrous Mountains that must be dealt with.'

You say, 'What tormented Vah Shir?'

Roshawna Rhorer says, 'Recently the skeletons of Vah Shir have been spotted wandering the Tenebrous Mountains ferociously and blindly attacking the living.'

There are legends among my people that speak of Vah Shir warriors that were murdered dishonorably in their sleep by a traitor allied with [dark spirits]. The spirits of these murdered warriors become trapped in their decaying mortal shells for often many years before they are driven mad by the despair, rage, and torturous experience.

When this negative spirit energy becomes strong enough the corpses rise and attempt to slaughter all that crosses their path in their state of eternal rage. Spirits tormented in such a manner must be assisted so that they may finally find peace in death. Will you [help the souls]find peace?'

You say, 'What dark spirits?'

Roshawna Rhorer says, 'Not all spirits that can be called upon by those who are in touch with the spirit realms are of good intentions.

There are spirits who seek to destroy and corrupt.These dark spirits are best avoided and kept from manifesting their influence on the mortal realms.Unfortunately the foolish or the weak willed are tempted by their promises of power.

Most who deal with the dark spirits are shortly driven mad by the spirits influencer destroyed by the very powers they were promised.

There are tales however of powerful shaman capable of harnessing and controlling the dark spirits and their evil powers of corruption. These wicked traitors to the Vah Shir teachings are called [Rakshasa].'

You say, 'Who Rakshasa?'

Roshawna Rhorer says, 'Like I said the Rakshasa are spoken of only in old tales. Whether they truly existed or not can not be proven for sure and the elder spiritualist insist they are nothing more than creatures of fiction.

If there truly is a Rakshasa alive today it would be a powerful creature indeed.

They are said to no longer have a physical body of their own, having traded it to a powerful evil spirit so that it may enter the mortal realm in exchange for dark gifts.
Because the Rakshasa no longer has a physical body of its own it must take the forms of other creatures and can not be destroyed with conventional weapons.'

You say, 'I will help the souls'

Roshawna Rhorer says, 'The only way for a tormented undead Vah Shir to be put to rest is to destroy its body and take its skull to Shar Vahl where our spiritualists can perform a ritual to cleanse and free the imprisoned spirit.

Fill this chest with skulls and return it to me and I will make the preparations for it to be sent to Shar Vahl.

The spiritualists there have just recently received word of the situation and will be prepared to perform the proper rituals when the time comes.'

You receive a Runed Iron Bound Chest (8 Slot)

  • Collect 8 Tormented Vah Shir Skulls. 0/8 Tenebrous Mountains

    Head to the Tenebrous Mountains and look for A Tormented Vah Shir he's waiting for you.



    Skulls: Just turn right when you leave the Katta zone line and go to Loc (neg1265, pos 1774) (Yes clerics you can use sense undead to target them) also the LOC given is a spawn area but all in that area from the back of the tree by the rocks to just in front where the hill starts to slop they can spawn so keep your eyes open. The second spawn area is at pos 303, neg 85.

    Spawn times on the PH are every 6 min. The Mobs do roam so if you miss the pop just wait 30 min and it will reset.

    The 1st Camp is a nice safe camp, no roamers only problem is that sometimes the mobs get stuck in the wall or the tree that is close by and they will despawn. (This was /petitioned and /bug)

    The 2nd Camp is not so nice, it's out toward the middle of the zone and seems to be the Grand Central Station of the place, you will get lots of green agro at this camp, but if the other one is camped it beats not doing the quest at all.

    There are 3 Placeholders at camp 1 that I have seen, they are these stooges here:



    Yes you get a faction hit for killing the nice Grol Baku, but it's ok though it's not like they know where you live.

  • Combine the 8 skulls in Runed Iron Bound Chest.

    When you combine the skulls it turns the container into Sealed Runed Iron Bound Chest.

  • Return Sealed Runed Iron Bound Chest to Roshwana in Katta.



    (The skulls are so cute all in a row, makes you just want to keep them doesn't it, quote the raven never more)

    Roshawna Rhorer purrs an incantation and waves her claws back and forth over the chest.

    The runes inscribed on the chest and iron bands begin to softly glow with a golden light.

    Roshawna Rhorer says, 'You have done a great service for these poor souls.
    I have sent for a courier to come for the chest of skulls but he is quite late in his arrival.

    I will keep it safe until the courier arrives.'

    A Vah Shir courier says, 'Sorry for the delay mistress, I ran into a spot of trouble on the way here. I am prepared to deliver your crate to the spiritualists back home.'



    Roshawna Rhorer says, 'I hope your journey back to Shar Vahl is less eventful. Please make haste the spiritualists must receive this crate as soon as possible.'

    A Vah Shir courier tucks the crate of skulls under his arm and nods to Roshawna. Suddenly the courier begins to shake, his fur stands on end, and his eyes glaze over expressionlessly.

    The courier runs for the gates of Katta Castellum with an other worldly howl echoing in his wake.

    Roshawna Rhorer says, 'Stop him! Stop the courier!
    An evil spirit has possessed him!
    He must not escape with those skulls!
    Catch him and bring back that crate of skulls!'

    *READ THIS CAREFULLY*

    At the time of writing this walk through, I found a bug in this part of the quest(Shocking isn't it) you MUST kill the courier in the great hall, the one you first walk in to when you enter the castle with the red carpet down the center and the stair way going up, if you do not you will only get 7 out of the 8 reanimated Vah Shir and you will have to destroy your stuff and start the quest over again.(Been there done that thank you very much)

  • Kill the Vah Shir Courier.

    A Vah Shir courier has been slain.

    A Vah Shir Courier's corpse slams the crate of skulls against the ground with unnatural force as he falls jarring it open.

    With his dying breath the possessed courier mutters a dark incantation and the skulls burst from the chest sprouting new skeletal forms.



    (At this point 8 Reanimated Vah Shir's will spawn, you have to kill them, you will need a group for this or at least a melee with a chanter or bard and a healer, the Skellys con light blue to level 56.)

  • Loot 8 Vah Shir Skull's from their corpses



    (Check out Tinmari line dancing with the Reanimated Vah Shir, she's such a party girl)



  • Combine the skulls in the chest and hand them back to Roshawna Rhorer.



    Roshawna Rhorer says, 'It appears this situation is much more dire than we had first presumed. It would be unsafe to send this crate within the walls of Shar Vahl should another innocent be possessed and the tormented Vah Shir be resurrected once more.'

    I shall scribe a note explaining the occurrences for you to deliver along with the crate to Spiritualist Roleko at the Vah Shir outpost in Grimling Forest.'

    You receive Roshawna's Report of Occurrences.

    Now head over to the Grimling Forest to Loc (neg 730, neg1000) and you will find Spiritist Roleko. He is easy to find once you zone over from Hollowshade Moor as you exit the cave to your right just down the hill is a VahShir Outpost, just go in the gate and turn to your left he's standing by a big rock at the foot of the hill.



    You say, 'Hail, Spiritist Roleko'

    Spiritist Roleko says, 'Greetings Traveler. If it is rest you seek then I'm sure you may rest safely within the walls of this outpost. As the sentries keep watch for physical danger I commune with the spirits of this territory to watch for less noticeable threats.'

  • Give Spiritist Roleko Roshawna's Report of Occurences and Resealed Warded Iron Bound Chest.



    Spiritist Roleko says, 'It was wise of Roshawna to send you to me instead of risk bringing something so tainted by the dark spirits within the walls of Shar Vahl.

    I shall begin the ritual immediately.

    What is that?! Look! There is a grimling heading this way followed by what appear to be grimling undead.

    Defend me while I perform the ritual.'



  • Kill a possessed grimling, loot its head.

  • Kill 3 Reanimated Grimling Skeletons, loot the skulls from them.

  • Give Spiritist Roleko the Possessed Grimlings Head and Reanimated Grimling Skull.

    Give me the head of that grimling and the skulls of those undead!

    Spiritist Roleko says, 'I am grateful for your assistance.
    I will be able to complete the rest of the ritual without danger the spirits in the skulls have been calmed.

  • Run to Shar Vahl and give Scribe Cholsa, Roshawna's Report of Occurrences.

    Scribe Cholsa is in the shammy guild in Shar Vahl with the other spiritualists. Enter the Palace and turn right take the stairs going down, open the first door and turn right, open the door on your right and enter the room she is on the right hand side at Loc (pos 80, pos 145).



    Upon hand in.

    Scribe Cholsa says, 'So it seems there is more truth to the legends of the Rakshasa than is commonly believed.
    I recall much of the tales of the wicked shaman who sold their souls and bodies to the dark spirits.
    There is a ritual that must be performed to force the Rakshasa to fully materialize in our realm so that it may be slain.

    I will write down the instructions for the ritual but the [components] I'm afraid may be difficult to obtain.'

    You say, 'What is components?''

    Scribe Cholsa says, 'The legends instruct that the ritual requires an Amulet of Golden Rays crafted by a worshiper of the sun, Charcoal that burns with a Black Flame, and the Brain of a creature that can Leech the Thoughts of others.

    If you manage to procure these items please take them with the instructions I have provided to Spiritualist Roleko at the Grimling Forest Outpost.

    The Rakshasa shall be summoned and slain there away from the citizens of Shar Vahl.'

    Ok now we are off to find 3 more items, it does not matter what order you do them.

    The Amulet of Golden Rays come from deep in the Scarlet Desert, at Loc (pos 570, neg 740), it is a rare spawn off of the Burning Priest he has a PH every 32 minutes but the upside here is that the Revenants are awesome exp. You can not kite these mobs, your going to have to get melee here for this. (The Burning Priest is a Cleric he will Complete Heal)



    Black Flame Charcoal comes from the Umbrous Toilers, it is a rare drop. The best place I have found to camp these guys are at Loc (pos 1680, neg967) in Maidens Eye.



    (Yes I see that the Charcoal is LORE and stackable)

    Thought Leech Brain from a Thought Leech in the Thought Leech Cave in Mons Letalis, a rare drop. The LOC for the Thought Leech cave is Loc (neg 1029,pos 36). Mobs in here are light blue to level 56 and I had no problem soloing them with my ranger.

  • Turn in Thought Leech Brain, Black Flame Charcoal, Amulet of Golden Rays and Rakshasa Materialization Ritual to Spiritist Roleko. Grimling Forest

    Spiritst Roleko can be found at /loc neg 730, neg1000 in Grimling Forest.

    Upon turn in.

    Scribe Cholsa prepares the ritual components according to the ritual instructions.

    Spiritist Roleko says, 'I will need to maintain my concentration to keep the Rakshasa from escaping back into the spirit realm.
    If you kill him while he is materialized he will be slain and his body will remain material.
    Bring me the head of the Rakshasa when he is slain.'

    Your faction standing with Dar Khura got better.

    Rakshasa will spawn he is approximately level 51, he is a shaman of course, and unstunnable, and unsnareable but he can be slowed.

    Rakshasa Karwoaro says 'Hahahaha. You can not defeat that which is not of this realm of existence!
    I shall slay your feeble meat shells for your audacity of summoning me here!

    Hahahaha.'

  • Kill Rakshasa Karwoaro and loot his head.

    you can easily do the brains with a good cleric and warrior. ive done this as a ranger with a cleric and druid and could single pull and tank them at lvl 51 only the cleric healed. i would pull them to the beginning of cave just a lil ways in. there are a few wanderers but you should be fine. i would recommend having a rooter/crowd control person with you just to be safe=)

    Leech brain was cake.... Although I must admit my EQ LUCK is at grand Master level. I went to Mon Letalis found the cave snared a Mind leech pulled him towards the front of the cave. rooted him and dotted him and watched him die. Total of about 5 minutes . First one dropped the brain.

    Now about that luck. I did my epic in about 3 months time. Almost every one of the mobs I needed was either up in the zone when I got there or showed up within 30 minutes. Ulumph was not in the zone when I get there and as I was meming my port out I heard him behind me.

    I don't know WHY I have such good luck in EQ .. but I aint complaining.

    Just some info on my vah shir skull turn in... this thing got royally screwed up but in the end I got the box and letter to take to the grimling camp...Here's my story

    Im a lvl 50 cleric, I took a 60 chanter and a 46 warrior for melee. Figuring we were all set I had them wait in the main hall while I turned did the turn in... I told them several times DO NOT hit the courier on the way in wait for me to tell them. So I turn the heads in and the courier comes into main hall. I say "Ok I turned in the heads". Chanter thought I meant Ok kill the courier so she rooted and pet attacked.. I yelled to back the pet off ... she did and disbanded and invised... when root broke the courier came in and picked up the box( whew made it thru that one). We kill the courier and the 8 skellies come walking down the hall... Chanter can't seem to get and keep them mezzed in such a small area... Warrior is too low to quickly kill so before even one skelly is down I am oom and Warrior is almost dead.. finally warrior drops and one skelly does too.. I am oom and both myself and chanter are very low health ... she tells me to run for zone which I do thinking the entire way... well time to start hunting skulls again.

    Just as I zone into TM she tells me to get my butt back in to Katta so I zone back. Here she is just inside the zone kiting the skellies and mezzing as she goes... I sit and med enuff to get her healed and now that they are spread out she can keep them mezzed and one by one take them down. After I get the mana to heal the chanter I run back inside to loot the courier and the one skelly killed there but as luck would have it the courier rotted so I had no box but the skelly was still there and I looted the skull.

    After about 20 mins of fighting we took all the skellies down and looted all eight skulls. I wasn't sure what to do about the box so just decided to go back in and start the quest again and get a new box. I got the box and put the skulls in it and combined... handed the box back in and got the letter and the box back just like I was suppose to...

    Anyway thats my story 3 major problems occurred during my turn in and yet we managed to work around them and all turned out well.

    Next to Roshawna Rhorer is this guy called Broote ?.. what faction is he on? It seems that I am KOS to this bum as well.

    anyone have an idea around that problem for me, I am a troll shaman that has been busting his butt working on faction. I got all the items first before going into Katta to find out I am KOS, I went to Marus Seru and killed all the guards <A Hand of Seru> I could find for 12 hours utill my faction with then couldnt get any worse, and then went to Shadeweaver's Thicket all types of Loda Kai in the zone for a 3 hours and that fixed it up very quickly. But this Broote guy is really getting under my skin...

    I have no idea what faction he is on, but you can harmony / pacify / lull in order to do the turn-ins. Stay away from the walls in the outside hall because the 3 other rooms also have KoS mobs in them (if you are KoS to Broote).

    Hey, I just remebered, if your a Shaman/Cleric of Innoruuk you can do the Innoruuk symbol quest part for Master Whoople's head and get the illusion halfling spell, May be that would work, I will let you know if a few days :)

    hi, i need some info on this quest, we got all the pieces for this quest, now i was wondering if a dark elf cleric can do this quest , or will she need faction first. from my understanding is there are others in the room with roshawna rhorer, and i am wondering if they would attack or not? if so is there a way to do this quest without gaining faction, most of my friends are dark elfs. thank you all for any help.

    The skulls (all three sets) are tradeable, so no need to MQ there. The turn-in of the Grimling head (which is no-drop) can be MQ'd if desired - the only reason to do this is if the person who has the head doesn't want to stick around til the final fight. The final turn-in (the one in Grimling Forest that starts the final fight) can be MQ'd in the usual way.

    In addition, the shield is given to whoever turns in the head of the Rakshasa, and both the head and the shield are tradeable.

    This quest is still bugged. Took the Courier to the zone line to avoid AOE aggro, but only six spawned. Looks like you MUST kill him within the grounds of the main building to get all eight heads again.

    I just did the 8 skeleton combat part of the quest a couple nights ago. They changed it so that instead of spawning where you kill the runner, they walk into the room from the original quest giver's room. Thought I'd screwed up for a minuite when they didn't pop in my lap (we killed the runner directly in the doorway) but soon they came ambling around the corner after us.

    Last night I snared him in the courtyard and then pulled him out of the building and around the corner to the right (as you exit the building).

    My friends and I killed him and we got all eight skeletons with no problem.

    i tried near the zone wall and got adds !! tried in the open area between lake and torch got adds and ran into traps !! tired near the wall of
    four arm/necro/sk fort got adds and four arm agroed on me through the wall of fort !!!

    Killed him solo yesterday (im a 55 druid). I resisted every nuke he threw at me (i have 143mr self buffed w/ my resist gear). He complete healed twice and resisted my stun nuke (fury of air). Long fight because of Cheals but easy other than that.

    Did this last night. Had a respectable group:me(49 dinged 50 in the first turn in fight druid), my wife's 44 chanter,51mage,50cleric and a 54warrior who I hired to help out. The fights were tough, but the only deaths were from the 44 chanter-once in the first turn in(which we did twice and she only died the once) and once to the possesed grimling. As I said, the fights were tough, but the payoff was well worth it.

    I had enough skulls to do this twice, so we did the first turn in 2 times. Once we got the courier in the main hall, and once in the courtyard in front. Both times got all 8 skellies.

    Did this turnin last night, but I could not find any information about these mobs. WE had 1 group there from mid forties to low fifties. Someone in the group said that a couple of the mobs con'd even to them so that would put them at around 45. although four out of six of us died, including myself, I teleported back to Grimling and was able to heal our main tank to finish off the last mob. Luckily we killed all four mobs, but I would recommend an Enchanter to mezz and take them out one at a time. Also, they resisted root, so I could not "root park" them. Oh, and they came in from the front gate; I didn't know which direction they were going to come from or if they were just going to spawn right there. That's about it. I recommend full group of 55+ or two groups under 55. I hope this helps others.

    My suggestion for camping him:

    Camp the Sun Revenants instead, and just include his PH as part of your kill cycle. You'll be much happier that way, and make great exp!

    Step 1: Katta Castellum, upper lvl, main bldg w/ the red carpet, near TM zone
    visit Roshawna Rhorer, (n234, p161), to obtain the Runed Iron Bound Chest

    Step 2: Tenebrous Mountains, obtain 8 Tormented Vah Shir Skulls from a Tormented Vah Shir (skellies)
    1st loc is (n1265, p1774), near Katta zone, best place
    2nd loc is (p303, n85), center of zone, not safe w/ adds
    3rd loc is (n1500, n1500), approx, slightly right of the cave entrance to GF zone
    approx. camp time is 5-12 hours, kill the 6 minute PH spawn: a grol baku soldier, a darkwing bat, a grimling orefinder, note: skellies can hide in the tree and castle wall, I stood in the notch of the castle wall

    Step3: Scarlet Desert, obtain Amulet of Golden Rays from a Burning Priest (p570, n740), approx. camp time is 1-6 hours, 32 minute PH spawn: sun revenants and reveres

    Step4: Mons Letalis, obtain Thought Leech Brain from a Thought Leech, cave entrance is (n1029, p36), approx. camp time is 5-30 minutes

    Step5: Maiden’s Eye, obtain Black Flame Charcoal form a Umbrous Toiler best camp is at the lake (p1680, n967), approx camp time is 1-6 hours

    STOP: at this point, you have all the components to finish the quest, you will need one full group 52+, (must include tank, chanter, cleric) to gather again in Katta Castellum, main bldg w/ the red carpet, near TM zone, the Courier should be killed ON THE RED CARPET or outside the big doors in the courtyard. Make it clear to your group:
    1) DO NOT use AOE spells, or the guards will interfere
    2) DO NOT ATTACK the aVah Shir Courier as he WALKS into the castle, allow it to interact with Roshawna Rhorer 1st

    Step6: COMBINE the 8 skulls in the Runed Iron Bound Chest and give it back to Roshawna Rhorer
    -have your trusted MA call the attack a Vah Shir Courier only after it starts RUNNING out in the CENTER of the red carpet hall, at this point the courier is possessed
    -once dead, 8 a Reanimated Vah Shir will spawn, have the chanter mez them as needed, kill, loot, rinse and repeat till all 8 are dead
    -COMBINE the 8 Reanimated Vah Shir skulls inside the chest, turn the Resealed Runed Iron Bound Chest back to Roshawna Rhorer, she will give you Resealed Warded Iron Bound Chest + Roshawna’s Report of Occurrences

    Step7: Take your group to the Grimling Forest outpost (it’s to the right coming from HSM)
    -visit Spiritist Roleko (n730, n1000), he is to the left next to a rock as you enter the outpost
    -give him the Resealed Warded Iron Bound Chest and Roshawna’s Report of Occurrences
    -kill the 3 a Reanimated Grimling (skellies) and 1 a Possessed Grimling coming your way
    -give all 4 heads to Spiritist Roleko, receiving back Roshawna’s Report of Occurrences

    Step 8: bind at outpost, and only you head out to Shar Vahl City (from HSM), visit Scribe Cholsa (p80, p145), she is in the Shaman/Bard guild which is inside the Castle on the West part of the zone (you should locate this NPC prior, to save time)
    -give her the Roshawna’s Report of Occurrences, and receive back Rakshasa Materialization Ritual
    -gate back and give the Rakshasa Materialization Ritual + Thought Leech Brain + Amulet of Golden Rays + Black Flame Charcoal to Spiritist Roleko, kill Rakshasa Karwoaro, loot it’s head and give it to Spiritist Roleko and you will be awarded the SHIELD OF BANE WARDINg

    Ok I'm a Dark Elf necro. I'm looking to do this quest I have run across the charcol, leach brains and amulet in my travels and was wandering if I would be KOS with Roshawna Rhorer or not. I'm looking to MQ this shield for my shammy, is this possible???

    Quest is MQable. And don't forget the Shield itself is droppable. Roshawna is on different faction than Katta I believe, but I can't confirm this.

    I've checked track many many many times and I have not yet ONCE found an oreminer. They must be a rare spawn, because I was there for 6 hours. Bad luck? (either that or I just didn't check track often enough lol)

    My buddy Delmustatrar, made the mistake of forgetting to tell the group to wait until after the courier had the skulls to kill him.

    When the courier arrived, the group killed him on the spot! Lukily, a member had done the quest 2x and had the items to start the second fight...

    Reanimated battle

    Our guild did the reanimated vah shir and possessed grimling parts twice yesterday, then we helped another guild do it.
    Our guild, in both cases, aggroed and snared the courier on the red carpet. He is not charmable. Then, we pulled him out of castle, left of the gate, then left again - to a very large, empty courtyard. There are some pathing issues - courier will do some back and forth trips before going there, but he follow the puller eventually.
    We rooted him in the middle of courtyard, had tanks get him real low, then everyone moved a bit away and a wizard finished courier off. All eight skellies popped in wide open empty space, easy to mezz and root. The fight went perfectly clean both times.

    When we helped the other guild, they decided to fight inside the castle. Dropped courier without moving everyone outside aggro range, skellies popped right among the people. A lvl 59 enchanter we had along dropped an AE mezz, and one of the guards got caught in it, aggroing several guards on the chanter, who died real fast. We still got all the skeletons, but fighting in the courtyard, IMO, is cleaner.

    certainly outside has the advantage of adding AE spells to the ******** but you are in a city, and they can still cause problems. I just made sure that no one used AE spells in the battles, everything went off fine.

    A 53 Bard did this all by himself just kited all 8 untill all were dead, then picked up the Pieces. He did this with out any help just twisted 3 dots and watched they drop(had a Walrus Drum that helped though!)

    Hi,

    I don't know if its just plain luck or bad luck but i will share the info i found out.

    I camped the spot for 8 hours straight and not 1 Tormented Vah Shir spawned. After a spawn I run to Katta and talked to Roshawna to get the box (just to have something to do in the 6 mins). I came back to the camp and i got a Tormented Vah Shir every second or third spawn. I got the 5 skulls i needed (I got 3 at a session before) in about 2 hours. So 8 hours no spawn, and 5 spawns in 2 hours after i talked to her.

    So perhaps it is triggered in some way.

    Also the Thought Leech Brain isn't a rare drop i think. We killed 10 Though Leeches and got 3 brains (we stayed there a little bit longer, cause we got nice exp in the cave). We camped at the entrance and i pulled them just from the first room.

    I hope this helps, and perhaps someone can try and confirm here that the spawn rate increase after you talked to Roshawna.

    i did it 3rd , u MUST kill the courrier on the red carpet in the hall, or i think if u kill him to close from a the wall some reanimated TSV will spaw on the wall and decay imediatialy, i can get 8 skelly if u kill them near the wall but it s not sure. kill him on the carpet will always give u 8 pops

    Roshawna Rhorer is based on shar Vahl faction, u need be at least aprehensif to her to get the box.
    ( if you r dubious to her, she takes the box .... that s all ).u can raise your faction by killing some mobs near the shar vahl city, but i can t remember there name.

    to fix your faction with Katta , kill some vampire in TM.

    I'm hunting the tormented kittens now.

    anyway, running into the typical problem of the wall spawns, however, having the added problem that these guys on occasion seem to die inside the wall. I've seen it happen multiple times, thankfully not to any of the tormented. I haven't seen enough of them yet for this to represent a problem.

    Anyone else running into this problem?

    There were a number of times, when I camped this, where the mob spawned inside the wall and died there. Very annoying. I've had it happen with Tormented Vah Shir once or twice also.

    Was helping a shm friend kill the courier and skellies lastnight.We killed them outside on the left side of the building and only got 7 skulls.There is still a bug here regardless of what others say :(

    Both times that we've done it we waited till the courier got to the tunnel to the zone before we killed him. Out in the open. All eight spawned both times. Seems the bug sometimes happens sometimes not.

    However, a different bug we ran into.. when we were doing it the third time, we tried triggering the courier about 10 minutes after we killed him to do the battle again. The second time he ran out, we killed him, and NO skeles spawned.

    It took me 4 sessions in all to get all 8.

    The first 3 in about 3-4 hours, 1 in a 4-5 hour session, 2 in about 2-3 hours, and the last 2 in less than 90 minutes. Draw whatever conclusions you will from these figures.

    As for the PHs, I never saw the grimling ore finder, but there were plenty bats and grol baku soldiers. I found the spawn time to be closer to 7 minutes.

    The bats cannot be rooted, and resist snare fairly handily! The grol baku cast an elemental based root, which landed only twice the entire time I was there and wore off quickly. Conversely, sometimes my root wore of quickly as well.

    PHs were dark blue, Tormented Vah Shir was light blue.

    Just thuoght I would highlight what someone else said before: The trick to getting more of the tormented skulls FASTER is to get the ones that spawn IN THE WALL.

    How do you do this you might ask? Well theres a notch in the castle wall, discernable by a tiny little triangle patch of grass. Sit there and the ones in the wall will aggro to you.

    Now...if you have a friend with you, they can sit in the wall facing out...and you can scan the nearby tree and face the wall to check for others.

    Also...and this is kindy tricky, if you can look "through" the wall. Animal form such as bear or wolf helps, but not necessary. Im sure youve done it before - noticed that if you get really close to a wall at a certain angle you can see through it? Well its possible...and it helps here bec you can see skellies spawn behind the wall.

    I started this quest forever ago..got all the ingreds...just havent done the battles. Hope that helps.
