You say, 'Hail, Drenic Garrison' Drenic Garrison says 'Greetings! I am Drenic Garrison, Governor of Science here in Katta Castellum. I am currently involved in several scientific endeavors with the other governors and am in need of assistance supplying my researchers with the proper [materials and samples] for their studies.' You say, 'What materials and samples?' Drenic Garrison says 'The Magus Conlegium are assisting with some studies on the physiology of the Vampyres of the Coterie of the Eternal Night and are in need of [ash and blood] samples. Maralicis Dilsm our Governor of Health is assisting in research on [counteragents] to the venom and diseases native to Luclin. Finally, there have been reports from the agents of Erikal Wolfeye that there is a civilization of [snake people] that live on the furthest reaches of the light side of Luclin in a region devoid of atmosphere.' You say, 'What snake people?' Drenic Garrison says 'To the west beyond the Twilight Sea is an airless grey region between the light and dark sides of Luclin. Some time ago our scouts cooperating with powerful members of the Magus Conlegium attempted to chart the expanses of the barren treacherous region. During this excursion the scouts and magi encountered a small group of strange snake like men. The magi detected no magical aid that was allowing the creatures to move freely in the airless void without danger of suffocation. When approached the snake men quickly fled. We wish to know how these creatures survive in such conditions. If they prove to be a hostile species then we will have to resort to examining their [anatomy].' You say, 'What anatomy?' Drenic Garrison says 'I wish to examine the lungs or whatever breathing organs these creature have. It would not be prudent to hunt and kill a living member of this species and society we know practically nothing about but there are several undead snake men in the region as well. I will require three such organs however to perform the proper experiments.' Shissar Organs are dropped by various shissar in Echo Caverns and The Grey. Bring back three for your reward. Drenic Garrison says 'Excellent work ____! The acquisition of these organs is a fantastic accomplishment!' You receive Amulet of the Grey Wastes | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I killed Shissar Stalkers for 3 afternoons and not a single organ dropped. When I started killing the revenants around the temple it only took about a half hour per organ. The revenents appear to be corpses in the sand until you disturb them. It makes sense that these should be the "undead snake men" that Drenic asks you to hunt for the quest
I have spent 3+ hours in the Grey tonight, killing those revenants non-stop. They are light blue at 64, and are piece of cake. I think I killed nearly 100 snakes total. Not a single organ drop. The only drops were polished serpent scales, nothing else.
Any one know if they screwed something up? Maybe moved organs to be on stalkers only? Anyone know? thanks!

just go to the temple the renevants drop them all the time. To MQ them give the guy in katta 2 organs and have whoever is to get the amulet gives in one last, It's a good idea to take some extra ones for the the person who is to turn in 2, as often someone has given one or two already. if it says you gain experience and you already have the amulet ya gotta start the mq all over.
Go to Echo Caverns and Kill the Taskmaster on the Deep Side. He dropd the organs pretty regularly

You should not kill the "Sun Revenants" but the "Shissar Stalkers". They should have dropped more than the necessary three organs during the 100 kills you made, I'd say.
I killed not sun revenants, but the shissar revenants around Ssra pyramid. Went there a couple days go again and killed a bunch. Again, nothing but those polished scales.
Kill the Shissar STALKERS not the Shissar Revenants. Only the Stalkers drop the organs it took me about 10 hours to get three.

Well - maybe that was just bad luck. I just got my 3 organs (all from Revenants) and it only took me 15 kills to get all 3. The organs DO drop from the Revenants around the pyramid.

Shissar Revenants DO drop the organs. I've seen them rot often enough killing them around the Ssra pyramid.
Just did this with a buddy of mine - Barbarian Shaman lvl 52. Still could be MQ... I tried it with my lvl 35 rogue and the mob would not give me the quest. I tried again with lvl 45 wizard and the mob gave him the Amulet. I would guess that it's level dependent. You HAVE to ask "What anatomy?" and if Drenic Garrison respond - then he will give you the Amulet. I found out the hard way that if you are EVIL race.. he will aggro you.. tried it with my 57 necro.. even with FD and invis up.. he will aggro when tried to do the turn in .. dead necro :--(. You must have done something wrong. I just did this quest with my Iksar monk, who is very very kos, even after killing hundreds of Seru guards. Invis up and it was easy as pie. He got his amulet.

Tried this with a Cleric buddy, no dice.
I had two, cleric had one. I gave him 2 and he ate one and gave back the other. Cleric gave one and it ate hers.

Sounds like you both clicked the trade window. Only the person to receive the item is to click the trade window. If you were to get it, he puts his one in there, tells you it's there, then you give your two and click. If he was to get it, you put your two in, tell your friend go ahead, he puts his in and clicks. Maybe you did it this way and it didn't work, however from reading your post, it doesn't sound that way.

Not sure why it didn't work for you... a friend and I MQ'd it this morning. He turned in 2, I turned in 1, bingo... Amulet for me. From reading other's posts here, it seems like it may be faction-sensitive, so if either of you were dubious maybe thats why it didnt work. I was amiable and my friend was ally, so we had no problem.
can anyone please tell me what faction drenic is on? i have been killing guards in a pattern from neth lair, marus seru, and the zone line guards inside seru. i have since gone from scowls with the katta guards to indifferent yet i am still kos to drenic.
Got my amulet today, with apprehensive faction. Now i can go and sell my runed seashell )

I just tried to do this with my lvl 32 bard and didn't get the Amulet.
I did this once with my monk using sneak, so 0 faction (indifferent) works(ed). My bard coned indifferent to him. But no go when I did the turn in with my bard.
Any thoughts? Next time I'll just use the faction song and pop him to +200 Amiable.

As a troll warrior i con'd dubious to the zone. I was able to walk to Drenic without any invis, but he wouldn't talk to me when hailed. So i bought one essence of halfling (was 120pp) which gave me one charge of illusion halfling. In halfling form, i was able to complete the quest normally.

These drop not only on stalkers that are wandering mobs but the shissar revenants as well. It easy to get 3 organs quadding the shissar revenants that are static mobs around the outside of Ssra temple. Including abit of medding it took me 3 quads and about 20minutes.

Scrolling down a little bit I noticed that nobody mentioned that the organs also drop off of the Taskmaster in Echo caverns. I went with my shammy alt (lvl 47) and had no problems taking care of the TM solo, even with single adds. I've killed him a few times, dropped the organs once so far.

I handed in yesterday after a few tries with an Iksar monk (KOS).
First try:
Invised up, Drenic conned indifferent so he does not see through invis. Tried to hand in while invis but as soon as I clicked on him, he started casting on me (which I resisted). Invis did not break and trade window never came open. I FD'd and tried again.
Second try:
Had my druid friend turn him around and this time I tried hailing him while sneaking. I could sneak fine behind him but as soon as I hailed him, he DID turn and commenced to casting again... this time chain casted and broke my FD once, druid evaced us back to TM zone line.
Third try:
Invised up, went in, FD'd behind him. Turn sneak on, click invis off and just handed him the 3 organs without trying to get him to actually give the quest. This worked fine and ended up with the amulet in my inventory. FD'd again and druid ported us back to Nexus.
He conned yellow to me at lvl 58 and was casting dd's somewhere in the range of 500 to 650.
Organs drop off of the shissar revenants too in the Grey. I was single pulling and occasionally would get 2 so I'd FD. When I would FD, they would also FD and then get up and walk back to their spawn points and FD again, looked really funny.

Went to get my 51 Pally partner a permanent EB item tonight. Pulled the Stalkers to the Mons zone with Bard Chain, and he Feared them. We got three organs in about 6 kills. Notes: watch out for the Golems, they're really nasty. The Stalkers are also resistant to Bard Mezz.
The Pally succeeded on the turn in on Indifferent.
Stalkers are Dark Blue at 51.

You cannot complete this quest with dubious faction. I gave the 3 organs to Drenic and he they vanished with no amulet :(

I got the parts together and made sure I had dubious faction. Gave him the items and they all vanished, no amulet.
I understand this item can be multiquested so I'm going to try that next

Funny you say that, I was hunting in the grey with a full group and not one of us had the necklass, we all used cast EB till enough organs droped for everyone to do the quest. It took about a week of steady camping but all of our little troop got the guts along with a few dings.
But I have to admit the death dance ya do if your caster forgets to look at the eb timer is funny as hell till ya suficate /grin
But all in all you'll see more guts drop here then off the task master in echo.

Can an evil char do this quest if Drenic is charmed?
On a differnet server I went to Katta and looted all the stuff people were too lazy to pick up lol. But this server (Druzzil Ro) I left Katta alone and when I became 49+ I started to hunt the Coterie Castle. That's the best way to faction for Katta I believe. Anyways, I like to solo and found the best way to solo this quest was to hit up Taskmaster Torkazah in echo caves (the shorty side not the secret side). It definatley took me many weeks to complete because TM camp is not always open and TM does not always drop the shissar organs (no drop, but not lore). Anyways if you are not in a hurry and have no immidiate need for an EB item just want one for future use, this is the best way to obtain it. Go patiently and go effectively. TM is undead, you can use all ur undead spells on him, including the dd undead spells and instrument of nife and the new PoP nife proc.

Apparantly if you turn in Shissar Organs the quest works as well. Just got my neck piece and I'm sooo happy. I've been soloing in The Grey and keeping EB on all the time is a pain. Now I got one less thing to worry about.

Kill Vampires in Tenebrosious Mountains or in Maidens eye, and lots of them. Be sure to pick up Ashes, Fangs and Blood to use to further your Faction once you reach Dubious. Tedious, I know, but Drops in ME include Grodans Idol and Shrouded Medallion, so you wont get too bored with it all.
This Faction incidentally is also needed for the Shield of Bane Warding quest, and so it shouldn't be a problem to get an Iksar, Troll or Ogre Shaman to come along and help out.

Ok. I've got the 3 organs, but i'm KOS. I'm DE SK. Any mobs i kill can help increase faction, so far i checked the web, seems like the only 2 mobs that can increse Katta faction is Lord Inquisitor Seru , a real uber mob and another lvl 55 mob, which i can't possibly handle

Killing Cotiere, or however its spelled, increases katta faction.

You can Hide sneak to turn in organs. I just did that with my iksar monk. Drenic sees thru invisible. I don't know if he see thru hide sneak. If he does hide sneak at zone and have a mge call of the hero u behind him. You get lots of faction adjustments. I wish I knew how much per time giving him organs.

I was aware of the monks ability to sneak, but to do a sneak/hide usually requires one of roguish talents. ;P
