    You say, 'Hail, Jali Kaliio'

Jali Kaliio says 'Greetings outsider. I trust you have [peaceful intentions] while visiting our village?

You say, 'I have peaceful intentions.'

Jali Kaliio says 'That is good to hear. Those filthy kobolds have caused enough trouble. We do not need more enemies.' Jali turns around and glances at another Kejekan. This one seems somewhat ill. Her fur is coming out in patches and strange sores cover her body. 'That is my wife, Yuio. She has come down with a sickness, no doubt caused by those accursed kobolds.' Anger wracks Jali's face as he speaks. 'I would ask you for [help] but you are a stranger and owe us nothing. Of course if you did assist me, I would be forever grateful.'

You say, 'I would like to help.'

Jali Kaliio says 'Oh thank you. You are most kind. I fear that there is not much time left for my dear Yuio. Please speak to [Khonza Ayssla]. She is most wise and perhaps can find some cure for this affliction.

You say, 'Who is Khonza Ayssla?'

Jali Kaliio says 'Khonza Ayssla is the village's High Shaman. She teaches the ancient ways of Okanjo and is most wise. If she cannot assist you I do not know who can. I would go myself but I am too worried to leave my dear wife behind. When you find Khonza, tell her that Jali sent you. Please hurry, friend!

Khonza Ayssla is inside the southwest building. Tell her, 'Jali sent me.'

Khonza Ayssla says 'Ah yes Jali, whose wife is ill. I have been looking for a cure for many moons. I do believe I can make one now if I had the proper ingredients. Unfortunately it will require the deaths of some of our lands creatures but the spirits will not be angered as it is for a noble cause. Perhaps you could [fetch them] for me?

You say, 'I will fetch them for you.'

Khonza Ayssla says 'Take this satchel and please listen closely. I need the following and they need to be relatively fresh. So dont waste time with frivolous strolls through the jungle. I require two Panda Claws, two Tiger Skins, two Asp Poison Sacs, a Bamboo Shoot, and a Kejekan Palm Fruit, which you will need to find somewhere in the jungle. Once you have these items, combine them in the bag and return to me.'

    You receive a Burlap Satchel.

Panda Claws can be found from pandas in Stonebrunt.
Tiger Skins drop from Kejek Tigers.
The best place to get Asp Poison Sacks is in Oasis of Marr.
The fruit and bamboo are foraged in Stonebrunt. Make sure to put them in bags after your food and drink so you don't accidentally consume them.

Combine the 8 items inside the bag to get a Full Gathering Satchel. Bring it back to Khonza.

Khonza Ayssla says 'I thought the kobolds would have you for dinner, but you made it back.' Ayssla takes the satchel and begins to pour different vials of foul smelling liquid into it. She then takes the entire contents of the bag and dumps it into a large kettle and begins to chant in an unknown language. After a few minutes, she takes a small amount of the now boiling liquid and puts it in a vial. 'Take this vial back to Jali. I pray to the Titan Spirits that it works.'

Your faction standing with Peace Keepers has been adjusted by 1.

You receive a Vial of Healing Liquid (MAGIC, LORE, NO TRADE, Tiny, weight 0.2) in return.

Giving this to Jali gets the following:

Jali Kaliio says ''Khonza Ayssla gave this to you? We must try it at once then.' Jali opens the vial and gently tilts back Yuio's head. He pours the liquid into her mouth and waits. Miraculously, Yuios fur begins to take on a healthy sheen and the sores begin to disappear! Yuio falls into Jali's arms then goes slack, passing out. 'She needs much rest. I cannot begin to thank you enough for helping us. Please accept this as a reward. It is not much but it should be of some use. You are indeed a friend of ours and if you ever need shelter from the wilds, please visit us again.'

OK... I was wondering about some details of the quest so here the facts I found yesterday...

1- The Panda claws drop from ANY panda in Stonebrunt... but you should stick to the cubs if possible... I'm a lvl 31 Ranger with Panic Animals and they hit HARD... real hard... and they resist a lot... so watch out for these... the cubs are around lvl 28-30... young panda are 30-31... mature panda are 32-33...

2- The tigers... I was hunting Kejek tigers for the tiger skin... it was easier than the panda but they still hit harder then I expected... A guildmate hunting around also found a Tiger Skin on a Higland Tiger but they are tougher... Kejek tiger lvl start around 26 and go up to (I think) 30... I don't know if the Kejek tigress drop it tho...

3- Asp poison sac, come on, easy... didn't loot any sac in South Ro but I got many in Oasis... don't know if they only drop in Oasis... just a theory...

4- Foraged stuff... at 114, I had some minor problems foraging... at 120, my guildmate friend got everything real fast... don't know if 120 is some kind of turning point for foraging... again, just a theory

5- Don't go see the quest npc in the Kejek place in Wolf form if you don't want to die...

6- The proc IS great! 81 damage... low delay also mean a lot of interruption on PVP server...

7- The zone was almost empty because of the Trivial Loot code (I Guess) so I strongly suggest any lvl 30-35 (no twinks) to go there and get that weapon!!!

Now... I got a question... anyone know FOR SURE what affect how often you proc? Agility or Dexterity...?

    Dex. Period.
AGI=AC, Dodge and blocking for monks. (Not 100% on sure on blocking, the rest is a fact)
Dex= Damage Minimum and percent of possible damage done (Hit more often and for more points of dmg higher your dex is), how fast you learn weapon skills and bard songs, and how often your weapons proc :-) I know for a FACT that all of this is true.

"Hello. My name is Silvester. I am a habitual forager."

My ranger, Silvester, is level 41 and his forage skill is up around 191 now. 200 is the hard cap for the forage skill if you're a druid or a ranger. Having high forage skill can be a blessing, or a curse. On one hand, you can always find food and drink laying around in the woods... on the other hand, you can never find any food or drink laying around in the woods, because you keep finding frost crystals, drachnid silk, gold nuggets, bone barley, iksar falanges, etc. If you're actually looking for one of these "uncommon" foraged items, good for you! If you're just trying to scrounge up some viddles... argh!

Since Stonebrunt Mountains only seems to have two "uncommon" foraged items (the kejekan palm fruit and the bamboo shoot), you won't have to worry about finding something with a weird sounding name that looks funny when you hold it up to the morning sun. While you're hunting in the zone, just hit that forage button whenever it pops back up, and you should find all the foraged stuff you'll ever need. Hope you've been foraging since you first learned the skill, though; you'll need to know where to look to scrounge up those items! Be sure to check the items that you forage, as well. Kejekan palm fruit looks like other fruits or berries; a bamboo shoot looks like a root. Both items are stackable meals, so you can eat them if you're not careful. Lately, I've gotten into the habit of keeping my forage-box in my number 1 inventory slot, so that when I drop a foraged item into my inventory, it will drop to a lower slot by default and I won't have to worry about accidentally snarfing down my quest items. I think Silvester has around 18 kejekan palm fruits and around 29 bamboo shoots in his inventory at the moment; I give them to people who are trying to do the quest, but I'm also keeping a heads-up for any baking or brewing recipes. I wonder if you can make kejekan palm fruit juice with a bottle, a flask of water, and two kejekan palm fruits...

Trivial Loot Code prevents any MAGIC, LORE, or NO DROP item from appearing on a corpse if the monster was a trivial fight for you or your party. If the monster didn't have any MAGIC, LORE, or NO DROP items, you won't see the red trivial loot code message. If the monster *did* have a MAGIC, LORE, or NO DROP item, you *will* see the trivial loot code message, and the item will not be on the corpse. This is my educated guess, based on killing level 1-10 kobolds in the Warrens. A level 2 kobold runt isn't going to have any magic items on him, but if he has a kobold molar (a NO DROP quest item), then he'll give you the trivial loot message when you /bonk him for 55 damage.

Since the panda claws are a MAGIC one-handed slashing weapon (not a very good one either: 30 delay, 7 damage, primary only, yuck), then they won't drop if the panda was too low in level for you. If you kill a green panda, and you see that red TLC message, kick yourself in the butt, because you probably just destroyed a panda claw, and there are probably a dozen other people running themselves ragged trying to find one. :)

Amen, my brotha. That's the biggest problem with the 'tlc', no reward for our troubles. While I think that the tlc CAN be a good thing, it should NOT apply to normal, common mobs. What it SHOULD apply to is the rare, "named" mobs which have specific drops that people would farm.

I helped an iksar do this quest last night. He'd helped a group kill Snowbeast, and found that he was KOS to the kejekans. Using FD, sneak, and running really really fast, he managed to do this quest, and found that he was no longer KOS. So, if you have sneak, you should be able to do this or most other quests in this zone to get your faction back up. If you don't, you might be able to do it with the invis-while-trading trick, with someone else's help, I don't know for sure.

I am in Oasis though and can get the sacs easily. I will gladly trade the sacs for any of the other items needed for the quest. I may also be able to buy the other items well most of them. To all of you people that have been posting that you can't forage the Kejekan Palm Fruit or the Bamboo Shoot, I have one question.

What is your Forage skill at?

I took my 35th dr00d alt to Stonebrunt last night and foraged 2 Kejekan Palm Fruits and 1 Bamboo Shoot in under 5 minutes. They were actually 3 of the 8 things I foraged. (Sometimes I forget to hit the Forage key).

I don't think location really matters for foraging, but I was in a jungle area.

This quest is cake, and yielded me a couple of decent twink weapons.

In summary, the quest is 100% working, and I can confirm with 100% confidence that the Kejekan Palm Fruit and the Bamboo Shoot can be FORAGED in Stonebrunt.

I haven't actually timed it, but the the forage button has a recover time of around 2-3 minutes, maybe more, so if you managed to forage eight objects in less than five minutes, you are exploiting a bug.

As with any new item that comes out, if you expect to sell it for exorbitant prices, you gotta do within a week of it coming out.

I'll say if you wanna buy this, wait a couple of weeks, you'll probably get one for 700pp or less easy.

Some high level guy probably bought it off you for their WAR/RNG toon to twink. Congrats man :).

Yes these are a pain to get, but some guild buddies and I found what seemed to be a good way of getting them relatively fast, (about 1 in 8-10 kills). To the best of our knowledge we weren't getting any because I was on with my 54 war and my buddy was on with his 52 dru... trivial loot code, go figure. So I hoped on with my 21 bard toon and while my buddy killed them I did the looting... over a relatively short period of time (about 2hrs... I said relative) we had 11 or 12 claws... my friend had no trouble foraging the fruit and bamboo (100+ foraging skill) and we spent about ten minutes in oasis slaughtering asps for the sacs. Oh yeah, waxed tigers like it was our job for the skins, very common loot. All in all we got 5 WotFS and used them to twink out our little toons (my bard got a pair heheh) they are decent weapons and just look cool... We all know that the point of twinking a lower level alt is to make them look cool =)

    Garrentis is badly mistaken.

I tried grouping my 52 druid with my 19 bard. The druid did all the killing. He got trivial challenge messages for about 1 in 5 or so pandas, and the bard wasn't able to loot ANY claws (they never appeared on any of the panda corpses).

If anyone in your party is over the trivial challenge limit, NO ONE in the group gets xp nor can anyone loot these claws.

This Item to my best guess is probably worth about 1k. This Item will drop the price of th SSOY because of its realative easiness of getting and it procs for more damage at a lower lvl then the Yak.

Dunno about you, but on Xev server, the DragonHorn Yak goes for about 900pp and the SSOY goes for about 1000pp(usually) to about 1200pp (rarely).

I would think a sword like this, should only be worth 600pp at the most. It is easy to get for Rangers/Druids level 20 and above (their forage skill would be 100+ by then, allowing them to forage the shoots and the fruit)

The skins were a 1 in 3 drop off the tigers and 1 in 4 off the tigeresses, the panda claws were a 1 in 20 drop (no difference i could discern from the different ages of panda.)

I did not try to get a the Asp poison sacs from the emerald adders, but i killed 4 and no Sac. I paid 30pp for my asp poison sacs - i got a TP to WC for 10pp, ran to the desert area and killed asps for 10mins and got 8 asp sacs, zoned in to EC and checked out the bazaar for a bit, then paid 20pp for a TP to toxx forest, ran back thru paineel. Took me about 30mins to get back to Stonebrunt Mtns with 8 asp poison sacs. I later sold 4 of the asp poison sacs to a shadowknight for 5pp each, but he gave me 30pp for it, because he couldn't get any from killing 20+ adders he told me. So actually i broke even on the trip, and saved myself and the Shadowknight some time. We later teamed up to fear kite pandas coz all that we were missing were panda claws. He let me loot the first two panda claws if i foraged the bamboo shoots and palm fruit for him. After 2 hours we got 3 panda claws. He had to log out, but he was just 1 panda claw shy of the quest. I had enough for 1 WOTFS, but i wanted to do two of them back to back, seeing how i had 3tiger skins, 4 asp poison sacs, 4 palm fruits, 2 bamboo shoots and 2 panda claws. So i needed 1 more tiger skin and 2 more panda claws.

After 2 more hours (argh) i finally got my 2 panda claws. Tiger skin dropped onto my lap coz of a green highland tigeress add that i snared and feared away while keeeeling the mature panda. The mature panda dropped the final claw i needed and the tigeress dropped the skin. Woohoo... so i went there, read everything, hailed him again and again to make sure i got it right, then i got the bag (i had to drop my empty backpack to get the sack to put the stuff in.) Got my WOTFS, and then redid the quest after spending about 5mins looking at my char model from all diff views.. the WOTFS looks sweeeeeet on a ranger :)
Dual wielding them is even sweeeeeter. :))

Both the above post are correct. Or atleast from what I've heard. At first there was only the katana and wakizashi, the wakizashi was used for seppaku. Later the tanto was added and became used for seppaku. If I'm wrong I appologize.
    RE: About the Wakizashi
    # Sep 15 2001 at 9:44 AM Rating: Decent
You are essentially correct. The weapon used for seppuku is basically whichever is most readily available, as the decision and the act typically follow one right after the other. If it is a time in which one has the leisure to decide on one's method, it's usually by preference of the suicidee. The lengths of the blades, from smallest to longest, are Tanto, Wakizashi, Katana, and No-Dachi. The main distinction of the wakizashi is that it is the distinctive piece or armament which separated Ronin from pledged Samurai. Only a Samurai who served a Daimyo could bear the Wakizashi.

And the katana and wakizashi "set" together is refered to as the daisho. It is nearly always worn together thrust in the obi edge facing up, unless in full armor.

The toughest animals you must kill are Pandas. Cubs are the easiest at 28-30. Tigers you can find at around level 24-30 or so. You might do better killing asps in Oasis, the asp poison seems to drop more there and the asps are lower level. You also need to forage (or get from someone who can) the Bamboo Shoot and Kejekan Palm Fruit. Forage must be over 100 to get special items.

Jali. I pray to the Titan Spirits that it works.'

You recieve a Vial of Healing Liquid (Magic, Lore, Nodrop, Tiny, weight
    0.2) in return.

Giving this to Jali gets the following:

Jali Kaliio says ''Khonza Ayssla gave this to you? We must try it at
once then.' Jali opens the vial and gently tilts back Yuio's head. He
pours the liquid into her mouth and waits. Miraculously, Yuios fur
begins to take on a healthy sheen and the sores begin to disappear!
Yuio falls into Jali's arms then goes slack, passing out. 'She needs
much rest. I cannot begin to thank you enough for helping us. Please
accept this as a reward. It is not much but it should be of some use.
You are indeed a friend of ours and if you ever need shelter from the
    wilds, please visit us again'

... and the Wakizashi of the Frozen Skies.

    Some notes:

The Kejekan Palm Fruit and the Bamboo Shoot are foraged items in the
zone, and are edible so be careful when dropping/eating what you get!
(The Palm Fruit has the Fruit icon, and the Bamboo shoot has the Roots
icon - but when I accidentally dropped it on the ground, it looked like
an evergreen leaf/morning dew etc. - small green leaf on the ground,
which for some reason I couldn't pick up ... very frustrating).

The Tiger Skins are fairly common on Kejek Tigers (the orange striped
    variety).

The Asp Poison sac - I actually got this from Cistern Asps in Oasis - I
killed 6 in Stonebrunt but got none, and got 3 sacs from the 1st two
    asps I killed in Oasis.

The Panda Claws seem the hardest items to get, they seem to be a fairly
    uncommon drop off any panda.

The 2 steps in completing the Quest seem to give a decent amount of
faction with KejekVillage - it was enough to take me back to Indifferent
from Apprehensive which I had gotten to by killing 2 of the Titans.

Would anyone venture a guess as to what this weapon might be worth?

I had a very rough time finding them in SM. I went over to S Ro and almost all of the cistern asp's have them and they work great.
    Take care and good luck

I finished this quest yesterdayl, now that the patch allows the bamboo and the fruit to be foraged. I just wanted to mention that after some experimentation with a few different characters, my friend and I determined that the sword starts to proc at 20 and does 80 points of damage at that level. When weilded by a level 36 char it did 81 points of damage (spririt strike maxes out at 81).

PS I got the asp poison sacs from SRO. I tried killing a few emerald adders after the patch and didn't see any sacs so I gave up and ported to SRO where I got the sacs within a few kills.

A Ranger posted to the Ranger boards that he completed the quest.

Both the bamboo Shoot and the Palm Fruit were foraged.

He didn't say about the Poison Sac but he specifically didn't mention having to leave the zone.

    The reward was:
    Wakizashi of the Forzen Skies
    1HS 6/22 Eff:Spirit Strike

The two forages are both found in Stonebrunt. In about 7-8 hours there i got 13 or 14 bamboo shoots, and only ended up with 2 kejekan palm fruits. I think i had been dropping fruits due to full inventory. The icon looks like berries or fruit, bamboo shoots look like roots.

Hope this helps. Go get your wacky wakiz!
