This is the Third quest in the Tempest Festival series from Rand Tanlonikan.
You can obtain this task from Rand Tanlonikan in Barren Coast. He is found at /waypoint -169.02, -62.74, 4.80 in barren coast at the merchant camp. You say, 'Hail, Rand Tanlonikan' Rand Tanlonikan says, 'Hey Vumad. I was cleaning this pearl and noticed that there's something [wrong with it]. Did you look at it?' You say, 'I didn't notice anything wrong with it.' Rand Tanlonikan says, 'Maybe cleaning off all the sea debris allowed the power within it to start [creeping] out.' You say, 'Well, no one wants a creeping pearl.' Rand Tanlonikan says, 'I feel like this pearl has put a real damper on the festival. Could you investigate its [origin]?' You say, 'I can investigate its origin.' Rand Tanlonikan says, 'Then you will be needing this back.' You have been assigned the task 'Lessons of Madness'. Rand gives you a Corrupted Siren's Pearl that has 20 charges of Veil of Corruption: Places the veil that may hide corrupted magic. While cleaning the siren's pearl, Rand discovered it has been corrupted with magic. Rand doesn't think the assault by the sirens was done intentionally. He wants you to investigate where the magic is coming from. Quest Text: As you hold the pearl tightly in the palm in your hand, you feel its magic pulling you to the northeast. The pearl has become too hot to hold, submerse it into the water to cool it down. This step updates at /waypoint 1789, -942, -5 in the water. Make sure to take levitation off. Right click one of the pearls, it turns the screen purple. You shake off the stun effect! Your mind is assaulted by tortured visions. The water darkens as if the corruption from the Siren's pearl is being leached out from it. Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. Quest Text: Corrupted magic from the pearl has manifested as aggressive spilling waves. Defeat the attacking spilling wave invaders. Nearby where you clicked the pearl, a spilling wave mob will attack you. As soon as you kill it, another will spawn, kill it as well. Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. Quest Text: Holding the pearl, it glows brighter, you are now drawn to the waters to the southwest. The pearl has heated back up, submerse the pearl into the water of the shipwreck. This step updates at /way 303, -563, -28 Right click another pearl. You shake off the stun effect! Your mind is assaulted by tortured visions. The water darkens as if the corruption from the Siren's pearl is being leached out from it. Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. Swim into the hull of the ship where a spilling wave will spawn and attack. As soon as that one dies, another will spawn. Kill it. Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. This is on the island to the east. It updated for me at /way 7, -942, 28. Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. Right click a pearl right where you got the update above. You are stunned! Your mind is assaulted by tortured visions. You are no longer stunned. The water darkens as if the corruption from the Siren's pearl is being leached out from it. Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. a spilling wave will attack. Kill both of them. This will update at /way -1783, -205, 6 Right click the pearl at the location above. You are stunned! Your mind is assaulted by tortured visions. You are no longer stunned. The water darkens as if the corruption from the Siren's pearl is being leached out from it. Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. Kill 2 a spilling wave mobs. This step updates at /way -1517, 105, -7 on the giant turtle shell. Right click another pearl. You are stunned! Your mind is assaulted by tortured visions. You are no longer stunned. The water darkens as if the corruption from the Siren's pearl is being leached out from it. Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. A level 115 a mad scrykin spawns and attacks. Kill it, another spawns, kill it as well. As soon as the 2nd dies you are given Cleansed Siren's Pearl on your cursor. A mad scrykin begins to swing wildly at its next victim. Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. The pearl grows so hot it is hard to touch, and as the corruption burns off, a deep sense of calm comes over you. The siren's pearl has been cleansed of corruption. Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. You say, 'Hail, Rand Tanlonikan' Rand Tanlonikan says, 'Hello _____. Did you find what was driving the sirens [mad]?' You say, 'After much searching, I found a mad scrykin. It had wandered far from home and caused much trouble.' Your task 'Lessons of Madness' has been updated. Rand Tanlonikan says, 'A Scrykin you say? How unusual. It must have been really confused and caught up in the storms. It's a shame they don't eat normal food. It could have joined us for the feast.' There was a bug at some point at the end where multiple people doing quest at the same tame can mess up the final steps.

I had this problem. I'm not so sure it is a bug as much as an oversight in the mechanic to prevent the issues in previous quests where 1 mob would spawn for everyone with the task. This same sort of mechanic is in place in quest 1 where everyone in the group gets credit for killing the siren even if they are not on that step yet.
The problem is, When the second Scryin (sp?) dies, your clicky corrupted pearls are converted to non-clicky purified pearls (not the correct names), so those people can no longer click for updates. It is important that everyone in the group has completed all steps up to defeating the scyrins before the scryins die, otherwise, they lose their pearl and can not get the clicks. I don't know if he will give you a replacement pearl. I dropped and redid the quest.
Getting the click updates can be frustrating. I found that clicking and then moving around the immediate area of the previous update would trigger the update, like you needed to complete both the click and a location check and if the click didn't work you have to move around a little bit to get the location part to trigger.
