This is the third Tunare quest. You must do the first two before you can do this one.

You say 'I am ready to become a Warden of Tunare.'

Yeolarn Bronzeleaf says 'The crate that the you recovered from the Courier contained this black candlestick that radiates an aura of great magical power. I request that you deliver the candlestick to Lady Trilani who is studying with the High Men in Erudin. Perhaps she can divine the nature of the candlestick and offer aid in defeating its power. The remaining contents of the crate have been given to Crusader Swiftmoon to be delivered to a gnome in steamfont that is purchasing them on behalf of the Eldrich Collective. When you return be sure to present your Disciple Symbol to me with anything that Trilani may ask you to deliver.'

You receive a Black Stone Candlestick. Take this to Trilani Parlone (The Mystic Cloak Quest NPC) in the Erudin Palace.

Trilani Parlone says 'I sense a great evil power in this candlestick. I will need you to concoct a divinatory aid for me before I can discern more. Take this suspension and brew it in a brew barrel with one white hellebore (dropped by Gnolls in Split Paw or SK), a pouch of the red dust created by the Fire Peak Goblin Wizards, and the caustic substance used by the werebats in Unrest.'

You receive Magical Suspension Fluid.

-- Note: The pouch of red dust seems to drop off random goblins in Solusek's Eye. It seems like every goblin has a chance of dropping it.

-- Also, all of these items are NO TRADE, and you can usually just ask people hunting in the zones to let you loot them.

Get the ingredients and brew them to craft Divinatory Concoction (trivial?); Take this back to Tilani.

Trilani Parlone performs a subtle divinatory ritual. 'This is a powerful evil indeed. The smoke from special candles crafted by the Teir'Dal and burned in this candlestick allows the creation of undead of unordinary might. The Ghasts are only one of its many possible creations. I will concoct a powder for you to take back to Yeolarn that will assist in defeating the monstrosities the candle has produced. The candlestick itself will remain here within the High Tower of Erudin for the time being.'

Caustic substance

I just got the final component I needed tonight (caustic substance) got torn up several times trying to get inside the castle when there was no need. 3 vials (or whatever) of the caustic substance dropped in the jail within 20 minutes. just go through the secret wall beside the crypt in the GY and get it there. Much better than having your cammo fail in the middle of the castle and having your whole team erased in 20 seconds (not that it ever happened to me you understand). Good luck to you!

Did these vials of caustic fluid drop off of dark offerers in MM? I've never been there, and am wondering how difficult it would be. My guild will be raiding MM soon enough, but I am wondering how much trouble it will be to get this one piece, the final piece for me.

Well after hearing all of the posts, i have a qustion for all of you druids doing the quest. When getting the pouch of red dust, how can a druid survive in SOL A? same goes for split-paw.

Get in a group. Even a bad one will do for this quest. It is the only thing we have that is similar to the temple of sol quests, and only tunare worshipers can use it, which is a great shame.
Erollisi Marr now works
# Jul 05 2001 at 10:42 AM Rating: Decent
Recently on Erollisi Marr, Lesser Faydark was changed from evil back to
good, or at least the way it used to be. The quest is no longer broken on
EMarr server, so go get your symbols now. I got the necro and courier to
spawn without any trouble, then in 30 minutes helped another group take
both down.
Broken
# Jul 04 2001 at 6:47 AM Rating: Default
It is broken due to the LFay war. the Darkelf Courier no longer spawns.

Can halflings wear this? It seamed kinda odd that the other good cleric classes could but not halflings just a thought.
RE: Halflings
# Jun 12 2001 at 11:02 AM Rating: Decent
I think they try to make one item for certain races, such as the Acolyte's anklet for small races.
RE: Halflings
# Jun 14 2001 at 12:42 PM Rating: Default
The Question should be "can halflings be Clerics or Druids of Tunare" ? Not at all, to the best of my knowledge, so the discussion whether they can wear it, is mute.... and there is a set of Karana Items around, too !

If you want to get all picky, you probably should put a space after the comma between "someone" and "use." Not that I'm being picky. I just figure, if you're going to correct someone, you ought to use proper grammar. Just a thought.
See more of Larik
# Jun 05 2001 at 3:58 PM Rating: Decent
I just wrapped up this quest the other day. I had everything done before I ever saw Larik. My buddy and I were litterally walking away at 5am giving up for the day when Larik poped and casted on me. A lvl 27 Druid and lvl 25 Wiz made real short work of him, didn't even summon a pet. I grabbed the head and gated myself just East of the Ter'Dal Camp. It took 2 tries to get him on track, from what I could tell he spawns at or near the Gfay zone. (As has been posted) and then follows the wall around. But unlike what I had read, he then cut accross the zone, about halfway between the Gnome mage and the Shadowman shrine. The courier moves fast, just under SoW. In wolf form I caught him quick. Root, Pogonip, Dizzy Wind, and a Creeping Crud and he was done for.

But since the patch this morning, Larik seems to pop more, he attacked a few low lvls on 2 differant occations at the shrine.

I've been camping the obelisk for over 8 hours. Been killing all the PH's, but still no Z'vole (necro) spawn. Any suggestions? There's no triggers or anything specific you have to do?

I have a question about the final part of the quest:
I have read a great walkthrough of all the three mini quests, and I know that at the end you combine all the four things in a Brew Barrel. The walkthrough I read says this: "My brewing was over 130 and I got a report that this mixture was trivial so I'm going to assume you could fail at it". Is this true? Can it be that after all this effort you will fail to combine the items? My brewing is at 0, hehe.

Keep coming to check on your question, Marblond. I just need the caustic stuff and I can try to brew the items together. My brewing is at 0, I'll let you know the results when I am done.

My brewing skill was zero and I actually improved to brewing 1 when I combined these items. I can't say it won't fail but if it didn't fail at skill level 0 then the odds are it can't or I was just darn lucky.

I had the same conclusion. My brewing skill is at 0, yet I combined the items and it worked. It didn't say it was trivial, just gave the normal "You fashioned a new item" message. Now I'm a warden :)
Easy pouch
# May 30 2001 at 12:30 AM Rating: Default
ok, heres the scoop on the pouch of red dust, its sooooo easy to get and i just want to help out those peeps who got some wrong info and have spent way to many hours camping something they can get in 5minutes. Simply put the pouch drops off of any of the goblins in Sol A and is just a pretty rare drop, so instead of camping the large fire gobby for 25hrs, just clean up all the gobbies, on is sure to drop it.

Da Best of luck,

Absolutely right, drops of random Goblins, is called " a red dust" Lore, No drop, pouch graphics. A bit hard to get though as Sol A not a pushover dungeon. Same goes for Mistmoore and the "Caustic Substance".

First off, yes, you can go back and do this quest from the beginning again to get the Disciple Symbol for the Buff AND the Warden Symbol for the Root.

Secondly, Tilani Parlone in Erudin is an Elf. She's in the Enchanters' Guild (I think) so you have to be able to be non-kos there. Simply kill the necromancer "Elial Brook" in Toxxullia about 50 times and you'll be fine with all the mages guilds.

Thirdly and MOST IMPORTANTLY!!! The Pouch of Red Dust does not JUST drop off the "Large Fire Goblin" who is the PH for Lord Gimblox. I've gotten TWO pouches so far from Goblins with "Solusek" in their name. First was from a "Solusek Goblin" and the second was from a "Solusek Mage."

I camped the "Large Fire Goblin" for about 20 hours with no luck and left to raise hell in Solusek's Eye to take out my frustration and 10 minutes later, a "Solusek Goblin" dropped the dust. I went back later to try my luck again and after about 25 "Solusek" named goblins, I was the proud owner of another "Pouch of Red Dust." And some Fiery Vambraces, Heart of Fire and Firewalker's Boots. Looks like I'll go ahead and finish those quests too.

Good luck with that pouch!

That red dust drops off random creatures in sola it seems. Farily common. One mob dropped TWO of them :P

The lteth gnolls drop the hellebore (2 spawn right at entrance)

Dark offers drop Caustic Fluid or something along those lines. It is NOT Causted Substance.

Hope this helps.
Red Dust
# May 10 2001 at 12:20 AM Rating: Default
Finally got my red dust this evening after over 20 hours of camping in Sol A. I did get mine off of the Large Fire Goblin, the ph for Gimblox, and while I was in there I heard another druid shout that they just got the red dust of off a flame goblin, so I guess this can drop off of anything now. I just wish I didn't spend my weekend camping the lfg when they change it w/ the patch to drop off of everything. Now to go get my ES Arms and gloves :)

I find it neat that this quest has improved the amount of people you find in Mistmoore, Sol A, and Paw. My recent ventures into these dungeons on Prexus saw more people in these three dungeons than before which is great. Usually it was filled with people just farming (not that there is anything wrong with farming), but it is nice to see people hitting some of the old dungeons again, instead of everyone flocking to Velious as soon as they near level 30.
Cheers
Dust and question
# May 09 2001 at 2:07 AM Rating: Default
I got the red dust today off a young goblin near the zone inside Sol A. Didn't camp anything in order to get it.

My question is....once you get the pouch of banishment of shadows, do you turn that in with your disciple necklace or just the pouch alone? The reason I ask is that neither Trilani nor Bronzeleaf mention any need to turn in the second necklace to get the 3rd so I wasn't sure if we really had to or not.

He actually says this:

"When you return be sure to present your Disciple Symbol to me with anything that Tilani may ask you to deliver. "

Therefore you turn in your symbol and the Pouch of Banishment.

caustic substance
# May 05 2001 at 9:39 AM Rating: Default
Dark offerers only drop thick caustic fluid for me. Now i wonder if this is the caustic substance you need for this quest because in no comment on this quest someone ever used the full name then (and i do not want to risk my red dust to try out :o)
Where is the Fire Goblin with the dust?
# May 04 2001 at 8:36 PM Rating: Default
I've gone through Sol A a couple of times, nearly dying quite a few times, thank Tunare I have high channeling and can cast while being beat on by 4 goblins :) Anyways, I've been looking for the room with the red dust goblin, and haven't found it as of yet. I'm using a map from EQatlas, and have been hanging around room number 17 on that map. Is this the correct place? If not, am I close? Thank you for any help you can provide.
