Clukker the Crazy may be found near the invisible bridge, and says "Spontaneous Generator" under his name.

You say, 'Hail, Clukker the Crazy'

Clukker the Crazy says, 'Ha ha! Hello to you too! I have got this crazy deck that I'm willing to give to those [looking for a deck]. Ha ha! Oo!'

You say, 'I am looking for a deck.'

Clukker the Crazy says 'You're looking for a DECK? Ha ha ha! Well, bring me a fishing grub, tee hee, and I'll give you a nifty deck'

Give him a fishing grub.

Clukker the Crazy takes a bite out of the fishing grub that was handed to him. Clukker then says, 'Ha ha HA! Thanks for the tasty treat! Now here is your deck! Hee hee haw!'

You receive a Deck of Spontaneous Generation, a NO DROP, 4-slot SMALL container.

Throughout the Plane of Mischief, various Mobs drop playing cards. Collect these cards. Different combinations of cards generate different rewards. It seems likely that you need at least one throne card per each combination, as combinations without the throne have so far failed. Also, the combinations seem to be a throne card along with a crown, knight and squire of the same color.

Where are the cards?

a. Thrones so far have only been found in the Alice area, last 2 sections on the "BIG" halflings and "22"

b. Crowns and sometimes Jesters can be found on any lvl 60ish NPC, Fenj, "86", My Hand, etc ...

c. Knights can rarely be found on the 4 halfings in the forest around the chest, and used to be semi common on "86" and "donk", you can also find on the "MID" lvl NPC's .. like Gorillas and Guards (rare).

d. Squires can be found most in the forest area .. normally at least 1 per clearing of the forest

Here are the known rewards:

1. Vambraces of Distraction - White Throne, Black Crown, Black Knight, Black Squire

2. Cloak of Confusion - Blue Throne, Blue Crown, Blue Knight, Blue Squire

3. Mask of Melodies - Red Throne, Red Crown, Red Knight, Red Squire

4. Buckler of Doom - Black Throne, Black Crown, Black Knight, Black Squire

1820 combinations of 16 cards
# Jul 06 2001 at 9:19 PM Rating: Decent
Well I gotta chip in on how many combinations there are. Assuming you pick 4 of 16 useful cards and order doesn't matter, the guy who said 1820 is correct. That's (16x15x14x13)/(1x2x3x4).
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 06 2001 at 3:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Stopit, all the math is giving me a headache. :P

The real math behind this
# Jul 06 2001 at 1:32 AM Rating: Default
Ok, there are 4 (Four) slots. That means that 4 cards = 1 item.
there are 4 suits and 4 cards per suit.
Blue, White, Black, and Red
Crown, Squire, Knight, and Throne.
4 X 4 = 16 (Sixteen) cards. Let's assume you CANNOT repeat a card.
That means 16 cards to choose from. You choose one, leaving 15 (Fifteen), then another, and another, making:
16 Cards X 15 Cards X 14 Cards X 13 Cards = 43680 Combinations.
Then, to factor in that cards cannot repeat, divide that number by 1x2x3x4.
(16*15*14*13)/(1*2*3*4) = 1820 :)
RE: The real math behind this
# Jul 06 2001 at 3:07 PM Rating: Decent
Okay genius.
You forgot to point out that they can't have the same cards in different orders. It doesnt matter what the order would be because
You can't have:
Blue Green Black Red
&
Red Black Blue Green.

They are the SAME THING.
So there are a lot less combonations.

Have a nice day! ^_^
RE: The real math behind this
# Apr 18 2003 at 2:45 PM Rating: Decent
Actually, his math was right.

To pick k items from n total without duplication and with order irrelevant, the formula would be
(n!)/( (n-k)! * (k!) )
Assuming n=16 cards
Assuming k=4 cards (using all slots in the container)
we do get 1820 possible combinations.

The number of cards might not be right though, since there are jesters.
with n=17 and k=4, there would be 2380 combinations.

If you're in doubt of this, read the "CAT" example under the "Combinations" section at http://mathforum.org/dr.math/faq/faq.comb.perm.html

If you still doubt it after that, visit http://www.umich.edu/~regoff

I knew that the class in combinatorics would save my life one day!

Heh, yeah just read the 16! comment. Dont worry, plenty of ppl have made that mistake. 256 is correct (trust me, I did Algebra for 3 years in my HS career ;p) However my question is that if there are roughly 100 combos, would that be enough for each class to have a suit of armor, or are the only 2nd paladin upgrades (besides distraction) are in PoH?

Uhhh.. whoops? :)
RE: The real math behind this
# Mar 01 2002 at 1:54 PM Rating: Default
The actual possible combinations is 4^4=256

Assuming that you are limited to using a throne card for every combination that creates armor, the possible combination is reduced signifigantly. It has also been found that squire cards have only been found to combine successfully in a full suit (all 4 red cards for instance) or all 4 squires. This also greatly reduces the possible combinations.

I'd suspect that there are a total of about 96 combinations possible.

"To get the Deck of Spontaneous Generation (a 4-slot container) you need to either kill Dinner or use the fishing skill to obtain a king cod card. Give the card to Ferjeneror to get the deck.'

I am confused. I can not find any info on where to get this container, who/where "Dinner" is or who/where "Ferjeneror" is. PLEASE give info???!?!?!

RE: Slimp

PoM is accessed by clicking on a tiny, tiny little pyramid tucked away in a corner deep into the north wing of the Temple of Veeshan, near to where Jorlleag spawns.

I know this is an old post, but I haven't seen it corrected yet...

The distraction armor isn't the final armor. You do some combines, one being melting the distraction armor in a Pot of Gold with a Words of Wealth, and you come out with better gear that's class specific. I hear that the melee armor quests are broken. The dolls for them aren't given out. =( So, you can be pissed about that, but don't be pissed at the distraction garbage.

Ummm... you ever wonder why druid/ranger armor doesn't drop off killed mobs in PoG either??

Wouldn't make much sense for a rogue of Bristlebane to have to whack his God and his little friends a few times for some really nice armor, though it's still not finished so I'd hold out for some rogue quests if I were you, like the druid/ranger quests in PoG.
RE: Now I'm all pissed off
# Jun 01 2002 at 4:36 AM Rating: Decent
Nice theory, but all the gear currently in PoM is quested anyway, and none of the mobs you kill give negative PoM faction hits. Also, distraction armor is All/All, so it would most likely be used in a rogue quest. If all else fails you could always wear that...it has a good look :)

My mistake...distraction armor isn't all/all...please resume being pissed off :)
There's a card missing!
# Jun 09 2001 at 7:08 AM Rating: Default
Checking both here and at the linked website, I put a little spreadsheet together (3rd shift + nothing to do = way too much time on my hands!)... I was checking out the different combinations, trying to follow the logic (assuming there is any) to the type of reward... and I realized: there's no White Crown! Now, the linked site shows a "Jester" card which failed in every permutation... but the fact of it's failure would imply that it's not a substitute for the White Crown. So I came up with the following combinations and likely rewards involving the missing White Crown card:

White Throne, White Crown, White Knight, White Squire
(Other 'solid color' rewards are Cloak, Buckler, and Mask;
likely 'solid white' reward will be neck or belt, either All/All or SHM)

Black Crown, White Crown, Red Crown, Blue Crown
(Obviously a 4th Flower of Functionality, most likely Cold Resist)

Black Throne, Black Crown, White Throne, White Crown
Red Throne, Red Crown, White Throne, White Crown
Blue Throne, Blue Crown, White Throne, White Crown
(Unknown; other 'two color' combos are Distraction Armor, except the Globe, so perhaps gloves and boots, and then another 'extra' like the Globe)

Black Throne White Throne, White Crown, White Knight
Blue Throne White Throne, White Crown, White Knight
Red Throne White Throne, White Crown, White Knight
(I suspect more wrist pieces, hopefully SHM, ROG, and WAR)
RE: There's a card missing!
# Jul 06 2001 at 8:19 PM Rating: Default
Not missing, maybe just rare -- items 19 & 20 use the White Crown.

However, the 4-crowns combination apparently hasn't been tried yet; it seems the logical combination for the White Flower of Functionality
RE: There's a card missing!
# Jul 30 2001 at 5:56 PM Rating: Decent
the 4 whites combine to make the red flower, it can be equipped in range/head and CANNOT be cast on other people unlike the black flower
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 09 2001 at 12:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Think about this though, before putting down the "cards" in the game.
RE: WoW
# Jul 05 2001 at 9:33 PM Rating: Good
1) this is NOT Magic: the Gathering -- there is no reason to assume there must be green or that colors have any association with anything other than pigmentation.

2) if there are 16 cards to choose from (not counting Jesters) and no duplicates (as the combinations so far seem to indicate, I haven't seen anything to indicate if the cards are LORE) then there are C(16,4) = 1820 possible choices.
RE: WoW
# Jun 19 2001 at 2:56 AM Rating: Default
actually, the real equation would have to do with the fact that in the first slot u can put one of 18/17/16, which ever it is,in the next slot you could put only 17/16/15.assuming they are lore, this out of 4 slots so the correct equations would be
18^P^4 or 18x17x16x15=73440 for the first
16^P^4 or 16x15x14x13=43680 for the second
17^P^4 or 17x16x15x14=57120 for the third. this is assuming they are lore,if they are not lore the cards could reapeat and the correct equations would be
18^C^4 or 18x18x18x18=104976 or just 18^4 (first)
16^C^4 or 16x16x16x16=65536 or just 16^4 (second)
17^C^4 or 17x17x17x17=83521 or just 17^4 (third)

the way i figure these equations was by simple grouping equations, they work like this...
if u have 4 slots then u can have four blanks, example. _x_x_x_ ok,now if u have, say 10choices(or cards) then u have 10(# of choices)^(c if u can repeat/P if u cannot repeat)^4(# of slots)
say we cannot repeat
on the first blank you can use 10 different cards, now one the second blank you only have a choice of 9 cards because you used one,one the third blank you can only have 8 cards because you have used two,and on the third blank you can only use 7 because you have used three cards. put you choices=X and ur slots=Y and u cant go wrong on the equation X^C/P^Y , well u can go wronge, but u probly wont, just a lil math lesson from a 14 yr old just out of 8th grade :P good luck guys.:)

RE: WoW
# Jul 05 2001 at 9:11 PM Rating: Default
Incorrect, the values you give assume that the order of the cards is important. For example, In the no-repeat cases, divide by 4! (24) to account for different arrangements of 4 cards at a time.

16 seems to be the correct number of cards -- don't see where the 18/17 came from.
RE: WoW
# Jul 05 2001 at 9:15 PM Rating: Default
Ok, will correct myself on the number of cards -- since there seem to be Jesters that may drop there are more than 16 cards. I only saw the 16 (4 colors by 4 types) which seem to have made combinations so far.
RE: WoW
# Jun 10 2001 at 10:55 AM Rating: Decent
Actually, it's much worse than you think.

If you count the cards listed in the current 18 combinations, you see that there are
4 colors and 4 card types (White Crown isn't listed, but I assume it exists). This means
that you have 16 different cards, from which you must choose 4. The correct formula
for computing the number of possible rewards would be C(16,4). The formula for
computing combinations is C(n,r) = n!/(n-r)!*r! , and gives you 16!/(16-4)!*4! = 1820.
This means that there are 1820 unique ways to turn four cards. I seriously doubt that
the dev team has added 1820 new items for just one quest. This means there will be
MANY MANY MANY combinations which fail to provide a reward.
RE: WoW
# Jun 09 2001 at 5:09 AM Rating: Good
There's no green cards. And even so your math is way wacky sorry heh. And 5 choose 4 [C(5,4)] is 5. (1 object of 5 is left out when you choose 4, hence only 5 distinct ways to choose them). There are 17 total cards, and, assuming the cards are lore, 2380 possible combinations. Fortunately the combine button won't destroy on fail anymore :)

How would one gain faction with the non-Plane of Mischief NPCs? Some of these items would be nice for me, but if faction is going to be a problem...

And, what's this about having to be drunk before you can enter PoM?

Ferjeneror can be found in the Garden. He's a named sphinx-type npc and hovers at a specific spot, he doesn't wander.

And whatever you do, do NOT say the word 'no' in his general area. He will say 'then DIE!' and kill you very quickly. It's part of his script. I discovered this the hard way, alas.
