You say, 'Hail, Tiam Khonsir'

Tiam Khonsir says 'Greetings, ______. Are you a follower of our order, the Deepwater Knights, servants of the Ocean Lord, Prexus?'

You say, 'Yes.'

Tiam Khonsir says 'That is good, ______. Our followers are few but our faith is strong. With the efforts of those few, our destiny may be reached in time. We must walk with perseverence and devotion, much like the tides that, over time, can destroy a mighty stone cliff. Have you [come to serve our Lord], ______?'

You say, 'I have come to serve our lord.'

Tiam Khonsir says 'Then I shall send you on a quest to prove your devotion. No doubt you have seen the vermin kobolds scuttling about the land as fleas upon a mangy dog. The kobolds have a lair on our continent from which they launch their wantonly destructive raids. You are to enter that lair and destroy as many of these dogs as you can. For each molar you bring me, you will receive praise, admiration, and perhaps some coin.'

Head to the Warrens and kill kobolds. Any kobold in the zone has a chance to drop a Kobold Molar. Return to Erudin and hand them in to Tiam.

Tiam Khonsir says 'Wonderful work, friend ______. One less land dwelling, flea ridden, primitive for our wondrous lord to sweep aside when the apocalypse is upon us. Here is your reward. Perhaps if you gather enough molars, we can offer you a [quest of greater importance].'

Your faction standing with Deepwater Knights has been adjusted by 7.
Your faction standing with High Council of Erudin has been adjusted by 1.
Your faction standing with Heretics has been adjusted by -1.
You gain experience!!
You receive 12 copper from Tiam Khonsir.
You receive 14 silver from Tiam Khonsir.
You receive 5 gold from Tiam Khonsir.

You also have about a one in four chance of getting a piece of Ringmail armor or minor weapon.

How hold on there.I play a erudite shadow knight an i play various others but even i cnt seem to get faction with the mrchants of erudin an expexialy the peacekeepers. So if i cant fix faction with them theres a flaw an if you want too coount that then you better cout the boat dropping you off in the middle of the dock where the blue robes are in Qeynos there the order of three you cant fix faction with them eather so in these 2 cases your still out iof luck an can stlll live in fear in both citys.you should always have the option of fixing your faction a city.

It seems alot of peeps didn't like my ealier post. I apologize if I seemed off base. I am just tired of not being able to get to spawns like Highpass (Gnoll or Orc, doesn't matter), or the EE's in the Gorge, or even Dvinn. There are way too many people loot farming spawns that are rediculously low for them.

I realize that the individual in question may actually be doing something constructive and not stealing all the nice lower level items from the levels that were intended to get them (without having to pay an exhorbitant price). However, someone even went so far as to say I and people like me set it up so that Verant changed the loot rules so she couldn't get the faction.

VERANT CHANGED IT BECAUSE OF STUFF LIKE HIGHPASS AND OTHER ZONES, where mid- to high-level characters farm out a greenie mob (to them) and then sell the item to fatten their own pocket, not out of a need for the item itself or a faction requirement. Thank THOSE losers. Period.

I am a human Cleric and have not been able to get these folks to offer me the quest. I have been killing tons of Kobolds and a few heretic prophets but they still don't respond. How do i get faction with these folks to do the quest?

You could raise your faction with the Followers of Prexus or with Paladins...but other than that, just give it to him till your faction goes up, sorry. :)

At Dubious I just gave him a molar and hit the give button. Worked! First two times I just got silver, but got gold from then on. No armor in 5 tries, but I'm dubious.

Ok here goes...I have a Level 11 Enchanter. Been fighting in the Warrens since it started. I collected 12 molars and turned them in 1 at a time. By the time I got to #10 I recieved 4 pcs. of Ringmail to include Breast, mantle, sleeves and mask so I ask....."occasional piece"? I don't think so. With the right amount you can score. Now I have to twink my SK in Paineel(heh).

I ran all over Erudin and couldn't find who to turn the molars into. Please would someone tell me where exactly i can find this person. My map doesn't show any Temple of prexus in Erudin.

Thanks

The Temple of Prexus (home of the Deepwater Knights) is near the library in central Erudin. You'll pass it on your right each time you run from the Tox zone to the palace transporter; it's about halfway through the city.

To get to Tiam, go into the temple and take the side door to your right from the main room. Tiam stands outside in the little side yard.

Faction Change?

Is there a faction boost to the Peacekeepers, the Paladins on Quellious, from this quest? Before the Warrens there was no way for an outsider to raise that faction.

Not sure about this one- but to PhoenixDreams, I got from dubious to amiable in less than a day killing 2 mobs over and over. First off, you can kill the erudite necro at the docks in Toxx (for minor faction) and the main one to kill is Noclin Sah in paineel newbie grounds. Both give Deepwater knight faction, and I think peacekeeper as well. The only problem is Azzar now hangs out above the newbie ground entrance in Paineel, and I am not sure what level he is or how killable he is.

Azzar:

Blue to level 33 Druid

Fight one, aggroed on me, no spells stuck but because of his pet he killed me when one nuke wouldda finished him off

Fight two, fully buffed, all resistances over 40, high armour class, damage shield etc. every single spell stuck on me, and he was hitting for 30 to 40

How killable he is is totally random if hes not green to you

The people who would get the most benefit from the faction can't as they don't drop for you at a certain level. My 32 dark elf cleric can't do this quest. So instead, like all the people higher than her there, she has to run around getting as many kobold kills as she can instead.

Seems to work the opposite way of how verant intended.

The people who want to raise this faction the most of course are those doing the hole but they have no way to do quests like these so its wipe every kobold in one hit time. Great quest for low people or on a new server though.

Instead of killing you could just hit one with your weapon,it stills gives faction.

Thats what i did with my sk,i would hit gnolls in bb once and run off, once the gnoll dies you get faction, and lend a little help to someone trying to kill it.

Actually smartguy, add the lvl requirements and the newbies arent looting anymore items, probly less.. Your example of CB, how many crush tunics and etc. do you know that are earned in blue-yellow or group combat? Most are killed by that higher 30+ who doesnt need the crap and lets it rot until someone gets it.

The teeth don't drop for high levels, so anyone they don't drop for should go somewhere else.

so That would include my level 9 warrior then. killed a kobold and the fight was trivial for me, guess i'd better ship him out as i'm too high for the dungeon. most of its red still but i better take my warrior farmer away.

The No-Loot rule is broken, those who are the right levels for the dungeon are losing out on the quests, sure i can still go hunt out the items but i need the faction with the merchants, most of them don't talk to me still.

Look I have started a Sk right after they started the Warrens and he is about 12th now. This is the Best zone I have seen yet for low lvls I love the fact they put the limitations on it for high lvls. When it first opend up it looked like grand central station cuase of all the trains but now nothing yesterday I was one of three players in the zone all day it was nice it was relaxing nobody was fighting over camps wow verant has dicovered Utopia. Now if the would only fix Paineel. Oh you can still get teeth from cobalds at lvl nine you just need to kill higher lvl mobs .it is not broken you are not trying hard enough.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 20 2001 at 10:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) But Domnall, that would take common sense, tact and good sportsmanship to go someplace else and fight. I mean, Kerra Isle would also give good erudite faction, but sheesh, those things are up to level 27ish, and they might be a slight challenge to a Dark Elf of his level.

Kerra island no longer gives you any erudite faction. Not unless they changed that with the patch too

*sigh* But people would have to spend far less time faction farming if this quest worked for higher levels...plus it would give lower levels the opportunity to sell the molars like they do in Highkeep to higher level characters who want to fix their faction.

Also, there is no reason to be an ***. As it stands, faction farming is part of the game...something *YOU* are going to have to deal with. The beautiful thing about EQ is that you can choose your alliances (via faction)...you do not have to follow a fixed role in your character development...I've seen Dark Elves that have completely denounced Neriak so that they could travel freely in Kelethin.

It sounds like you've had problem with higher level folks camping stuff you want. Man, I completely understand and it really pisses me off, too...because I'm somewhere gaining xp...fighting for what I want...and here is some 50+ jackass just sitting on the camp spot letting his pet kill everything till what he wants drops. I do farm like that, but if a group wants to fight there, I take off. I'm usually only doing it because I'm bored and don't feel like participating in xp grinds. However, this does not excuse you from ripping someone who did not deserve it. Focus your frustrations at characters that ACTUALLY ruin your game experience...not people who give constructive comments. Hell, if you *think* about it...she helped you out by telling higher levels it's not worth going there for this quest...AND YOU RIPPED HER. Good going, man...you rock!

Yep, I've seen many level 16-19 groups (I was in one many times) take on Emperor Crush, not really a big deal as long as you have a well enough organized group.

Then you need to work with a better group. I have killed Crush myself with a lvl 19 pally (lull and cooperations with other players soloing the TR). My lvl 16 ENC took the TR and the Tower in a full group lvl 16 to 18.

I do agree that often there are high lvl players farming, but hey, I know lvl 5 farmers too:its the concept and intent. I have had few encounters with a farmer not be reasonable enough for me to share or take over a camp.

I think the lvl looting is a decent idea, maybe not the best yet, but it could improve with CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions from players.

There have been many constructive suggestions by players. VI babbles about "Vision" and how it will never change, then a year or two later announce the change in a patch and pat themselves on the back. <shrug>
Heck, over half of the things people know about how things work in this game are a result of players telling VI how it works, they really did not know. From some of the recent stuff I have seen them post, they are only marginally less clueless.

Whoops, forget that past statement.... I just read it moe carefully now and see that this is for a quest in Erudin, not for one in Paineel... Bah, don't mind me...

but you can do the quest, in Paineel, with them glowering at you.

You got the factions backwards. There are two versions of the kobald molar quest: one starting in Paineel, which gives dark factions, and one starting in Erudin, which gives light factions.

The Erudin version also leads to the "quest of greater importance" for midnight sea leggings (retrieve two items from level 20-ish kobald shaman) and midnight sea vambraces (find Yelesom Paust's lost surveying tools in Erud's Crossing).
