This quest begins with Qarrgy Scallopgobbler on the beach of Cobalt Scar. He is an otter located at -800, -400.

22 years ago tons of people were adventuring the new lands of Velious and exploring all the drops and quests and text! Loved to see all the discourse on allah and figuring out what went where and to what quests, so many sea shells! haha, EQ

Thanks for listing this. However, since the Sea Dragon Scales aren't NO TRADE, someone could kill the Kelorek`Dar then give them to you, so the faction hits aren't necessarily tied to the quest.
Sorry, I should have attached my faction hit comment to Lochen Sunwalker who asked for the faction hits 11 years ago (aug 28, 2001). That was my reason for showing the faction hits.

The correct item is a "Fine Plate Bracer", which is player crafted.
These days, you can probably sell these to the Othmir merchants for 25pp each and buy something better in the bazaar with the cash, unless you happen to have the EB necklace rotting in the bank and can whip up a FS bracer too -- in which case the final reward is worth 930 tribute. :)

Anyone know the faction hit for killing Kelorek is he on COV or ROS?

i killed him and was still max ally....even though it said so, i went to kill a gaint in GD, and it says your faction with Claws of Veeshen cannot get any better
The hit is indeed miniscule -- the same with Wuoshi.
Claws of Veeshan : -60
Yelinak : -14
Kromzek : +30

He is CoV allied. The faction hit to cov isn't that bad at all though. Easily made up in a few giant kills in arena

Scales drop off the dragon that spawns in CS, appears to be 63+ .. nice little fight .. first fight he got bugged and *popped* back to his spawn point .. summoned guild and killed us .. we got him second round... Necklace comes from SG .. Fine Steel Bracer is player made and i do not think size matters here

both the runed shell necklace and the ornately runed shell necklace drop off sirens in grotto.
The Ornate Runed shelll necklace was extremely rare. I got one in the time it took to get 25 regular runed shell necklaces.

Does anyone know if the Sea Dragon Scales dropped by Faydedar can be used to complete this quest?

Why would one naturally assume that?
Must be alot of shells in CS, since otters have "shell collectors". Try killing the sirens in CS...

Siren's in Cobalt Scar drop a Runed Shell Necklace but this isnt the right one. Considering the quest was not completed untill AFTER Siren's was made actually doable then Ornately Runed Shell necklace is from there.
